This i wrote now in th esupport forum: marconeff: Hello, I wrote tickets too, to support. This is a major issue. It blurs in many ways: to agressive motion blur to agressive depth of field to agressive temporal antialiasing which doesn´t work correctly with the checkerboard rendering. What can they do: Fix the sharpen slider for checkerboard resolution gave us a button to turn off motion blurUse SMAA for Antaliasing instead of TAA. This will give a performance boost too. TAA costs a lot more Performance. You have no jagged edges with taa but to the cost of a blurry image. Look at Shadows of the Tomb Raider on PC. The TAA destroys the Texture Quality and sharpness totally. Gave us in a second Patch better HDR. Take the time to patch this. This will take a while I think. But I think the Sharpen Slider can be integrated by a hotfix. This is why the 1080p Image looks so good. I don´t think it is the checkerboarding only. It is the combination of checkerboarding and TAA, My other Theory is in One frame are two images. One of the higher solution and on e of the 1080p resolution. I can´t understand while the sharpness is is dimming to blurriness all second. Without moving Arthur or the Charakter. Tis is so strange. with to agressive motion blur when you turn around the camera. You can not focus anything of the picture when all this troble of blur is going on. Before I´ve made my own configuration for my TV and switching off the fake HDR, my eyes are going tired since a half hour of gameplay and a headache and problems with my stomach is overwhelming me since an hour of gameplay. I wrote that all in a ticket. I think it is our work on rdr2.org that all this would be adressed now. This is my username of rdr2.org I send in my last ticket a link of the thread on rdr2.org to the support team. I like the game really, but most of my time, I´m going crazy and pull all out of my tv to become an better image of rdr2 Oh sh...t what a bad gramma and that now in the official forum. Oh my god that is my username on social club. How can I fix this. This username is out of the past. GTA IV. I don´t know.3 points

As horses are vital to the game, here are some things I've learned from controls to controlling the horse. Please add to if you have information. 1. you can toggle your horse from a slow walk (recommended in town) to a trot. Then to full a full sprint. Many of us already know to press A (for XB1) in time with your horses gallop to use less stamina. It looks like this: walk-->trot-->run-->full sprint 2. To go from running back down to a trot and to walking, press the RB button (XB1). This is especially handy as you are coming into town or accidentally start running in town. This has been the single most important part of handling my horse in the game. 3. When taming a new horse, ensure you stay with it at all times. Instruct your main horse to follow you and never leave the new horse behind. I have a tendency to find a new mount while hunting, and it comes in handy to have two horses (side note: each horse can carry 1 large animal like a deer/pronghorn, and 2 small animals such as a rabbit/duck). 2 horses are great when you are out hunting, but they are difficult to control. Your new horse will run off if you do not get your bonding level to 1 and you wander off from it (or it is scared off). 4. Wash your horse by running it through water or clean it using the brush. Clean horses are happy horses. 5. Feed your horse often to ensure it stays at a proper weight. If you are on a main story quest, it's a good thing to fortify your horses stamina; good chance you're going to need to make a heck of a break for it. 6. Upgraded tack items can provide small speed boosts. 7. DO NOT RIDE IN HEAVILY FORESTED AREAS QUICKLY. It's a good way to plant yourself and your trusty steed into a tree. 8. Careful going down steep slopes, your horse can and will slide down. 9. BUY A HORSE RESUSCITATION POTION. You're going to have a horse shot out from under you. If you survive, you'll want to rez the ol' sucker. Nothing worse than losing your fully bonded horse. 10. Horses no like big drops. 11. When you think you're going to be in a firefight, or you're unexpectedly jumped by rival gangs, sprint through the contact, find a place to put your four legged friend, and then take cover and return fire if you are going to fight. Personally, I recommend breaking contact and sprinting through ambushes. That said, DO NOT return to your camp. You've likely figured this out if you've been playing over the past week. This way, your horse doesn't turn into your cover and become a bullet cushion. 12. You can have 4 horses in the stable, and I've personally had 3 horses in camp. 13. Your horse will show up at your next stagecoach/train destination. Magic.2 points

Use your binoculars to study animals first, it tells you what rifle to use - repeater, varmint, bow, rifle, etc ...2 points

Look at your compendium in the menu. Once you've studied an animal it says in the compendium what weapons are best for a clean kill on each one 👍2 points

There is 6 chapters and 2 epilogues, and I already finished the game. How am I defending the mechanics when I literally just said the criminal system is sensitive? 🤷♀️2 points

Good example to show motion blur artur. Never used it in Witcher 3 ;), but the sharpen option to throw out blur from textures. One of the best games ever for me.2 points

No idea why they removed Liar's Dice, but I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it. So far as the unfair bounties go, well... things weren't necessarily so fair in the old West. If someone sees you shoot somebody, they might not necessarily know you had a good reason. Plenty of folks were and are still jailed unfairly, no? I know that doesn't necessarily justify the game mechanic, but thinking about it in those terms have really helped my personal enjoyment of the game. I stopped thinking "the game is unfair!", and started thinking "the law is unfair!" -- followed by "I'll make those suckers pay, dammit!"2 points

So there is more leaks regarding Red Dead Online. Everyone knows Properties, Adversary Modes, PvE mode, and Vehicles you can purchase are coming to RDO. However, there is a new leak that Racing, Deathmatches, and dueling will also be in the game. The first half of this leak is from Fireboyd78 - not me, so credit to him. These parameters are from Red Dead Redemption 2's inputs: INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_INFO_PLAYERS INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_SWITCH_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_INFORM_LAW INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_DUEL INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_PARLEY INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_FEUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_DEAD_LEADER_FEUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_RACE_RESPAWN INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_PREDATOR_ABILITY INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_NEXT INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_PREV INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_HIDE_HUD INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_SPECTATE_PLAYER_OPTIONS INPUT_MULTIPLAYER_LEADERBOARD_SCROLL_HUD The most interesting of these are Respawn, Inform Law, Duel, Parley, Feud and Leader Feud. Also there is a thing called "Predator Ability" which we are not sure what this is, but we can only guess it's part of animals in the wild, and hunting them. We clearly know animals are in the game because of the Red Dead Online trophies. "Butchered - Sell 20 items to the Butcher in Red Dead Online" We also know that the intro cut scene to Red Dead Online will include a prison breakout. This leak is from RockstarIntel, and they discovered mission types, including confirmation of races. The list is not final: Mission Deathmatch Race This is all the leaks we have so far, and if you haven't seen the other leaks I discussed, you can view it here: https://www.rdr2.org/forums/topic/1461-leaked-list-of-vehicles-properties/ Source: https://rockstarintel.com/youll-be-able-to-race-duel-and-much-more-in-red-dead-online/1 point

I have been playing the game for 3 days or so and am still in Valentine. The housing development below valentine is where I encountered the O’Driscoll gang fighting some family, so I killed the gang and went to talk to one of the remaining. Unfortunately, I accidentally shot one of the family members instead of engaging them and now they will not talk to me. Keep in mind this is after 2 full days of playing. Is there some way to fix this or have I permanently ended this quest? Also, there is a man in the main saloon who is cursing out the others and looks like he is someone of interest, is he? Or is it just an unusually detailed NPC (he wears the raccoon hat I think). On a side note, I am loving this game. I have spent most of my time riding around with the mini-map off, which has made me memorize the local roads in and around valentine. It’s awesome, and I have hardly touched the story. Instead, I feed the camp and go into town every few in-game nights to bathe and eat, it’s all so amazing. I never imagined myself enjoying this so much, since I am the type of player that usually likes to keep things moving but at least for now I am going for 100% immersion and it’s paying off. Hope you all are enjoying this as much as I am, and I know that the pacing of the game is not for everyone.1 point

Is this a wind up? on the chance it isn't, you have two options: 1) do the missions without caring about gold. Come back and replay them after doing the whole story (when they will give you the criteria) 2) or, buy the guide which gives the criteria for every mission. easy. I suggest doing both1 point

You can play Red Dead Redemption 2 first because its a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. After you beat the new game, then you can play the original Red Dead Redemption. Also, yes the game is worth it, its a must buy in my books. The story is amazing on its own.1 point

Ive always wished that someone would make a free roam game like red dead so its able to be played in splitscreen offline with a friend throughout the story. And both characters could do whatever they like apart from each other, like u each could be on different sides of the map do completely different things. But things like campaign missions had to be done together. I just think that would be the coolest thing ever. What do u guys think?1 point
-
I'd love the co-op idea more than split screen but I get the desire for a couch co-op option. The only problem isn't that devs simply don't want to explore "old school" idea s like this but as @BropolloCreed79alluded to, it would be heavily taxing on your system especially with a game like this. The 2-4 player co-op in campaign would have been awesome though. I still hope RDO has more of a focus on co-op gameplay than their previous titles. I prefer co-op PvE over adversarial PvP.1 point

I think he's talking about motion blur, every version has it. This effect can't be disabled at least for now. I don't think X1X version is completely perfect because it uses the same type of anti aliasing used on PS4 PRO, it just doesn't look so bad because X1X outputs true 4k, X1X has the same issues with motion blur and depth of field that has PS4 PRO.1 point

Using you own quote, no, you dont actually explain how this works, just how it should look. Do we press the button 1 time to advance to every part of the sequence? Do we hold the button down to start going up through the sequence? Do we keep pressing the button until we get to the final sequence? walk-->trot-->run-->full sprint From your perspective, this probably makes perfect sense but to those of us not familiar with it or how you are achieving each of those cycles, it would of been nice to describe which button and how to use the button (press 1 time, press 2 time, hold down, hold down for x seconds, tap button until...) I have found the horse to be extremely disappointing in the game and often times wonder if they purposely made them retarded to add a sense of difficulty to the game. Anytime I whistle for my horse, if he comes, eventually - he never gets close enough for me to mount him, I have to walk a short distance to actually get on him. Once called, he takes his time getting to me and usually picks the dumbest path to me. Anytime I focus someone and hold down button to match speed and semi follow those people, the camera view constantly changes to the side/top view and since no roads are perfect here, my guy is constantly swaying off side to side and actually tripping up and killing other players in the process of this "follow feature" Cant count the amount of times he runs into something or falls off something to kill himself or me with him. Trying to use the cinematic view, to enjoy an easy long distance run - all goes quite peacefully until he just runs smack dead into the side of a moving train. When I get jumped into a gun battle from horseback, it is amazing how accurate and movable the enemies are from this mounted position, whereas a human player has to maneuver around with all the sticks and it is damn near impossible to have an actual gun fight on horseback - unless you use a bunch of slow motion, which runs out quickly. You get knocked off your horse during battle quite often, either bucked off, or shot off. No matter what type of enemy you encounter, your horse will always be slower. Riding my legendary horse, you would think this "race" horse to be quite a bit faster, stat wise they are, but of many missions where I have to chase someone, or I am being chased, it's pretty obvious how slow you are. Of many missions where you have to drive something back, the dumb horse wont continue to follow you even though you told it to. That's just some of the things off the top of my head I deal with on a daily basis. So to say how awesome the horse is... makes me laugh and scream on the inside when I come across posts glamorizing game play or specific elements of the game.1 point

This game is epic in scope, but horribly flawed. 80% of the game is simply manual riding, the movement is clunky at best, and much of it is simply a waste of time. That being said, most great games address these issues immediately. I've already sparred with the rdr fans who cannot see fault no matter what. The game has such potential...why not patch up the leaks and make it an actually great game?1 point
-
They might by request from enough people, they will change something for the majority, not the minority. Also, I noticed targeting cycle isn't in the game, but I changed my targeting from "normal" to "wide" and I've noticed the auto-aim selects the enemy from a wider range. This helps because you don't have to aim near the enemy to activate the auto-aim, it can detect the enemy at wider ranges, so its a lot easier to take out lots of enemies.1 point

I feel like either I am missing something completely or Rockstar really dropped the ball when it comes to the carriages. I see all of these carriages, carts, etc being hauled and I think to myself man, wouldn't it completely make sense to be able to have our own cart so that we could haul animal corpses, extra pelts, maybe a storage box to put our extras so that we don't have to leave behind important tonics, food, etc because we have too many on us at that moment. I just feel like this was a HUGE miss from the developers. I mean it makes total sense for this to be an option to at least haul around multiple animal carcasses that we have killed. Hell, at least 4. I find myself wanting to go on this huge hunting run but I am limited to what my main horse and a spare horse can carry. Sure, they can carry a bit but they can only carry one medium/large animal per horse. Not really griping here, I just feel like this is an awesome feature that Rockstar should have had and its like it completely went over their heads that having a use for these carts would be super important and cool to have in the game. The carriages/carts are absolutely pointless as the game stand right now. They serve no purpose except to block the damn paths. I really hope they at least implement some use for them in Online besides just racing.1 point

Absolutely... When you are finished playing on your first PS4, go into saved data management in the settings, and save your game data to a USB stick . Then, put the USB stick into the second PS4, and go back into the settings, and saved data management. Copy it to that console. As long as the game is installed on your second console, it should pick up where you left off when you load the game. Hope this helps. When you want to go back to the 1st PS4 later, save the game data from the second PS4, and load it onto that PS4. The game should pick up from there.1 point

Hello, i think you both are talking about motion blur, a simple effect that normally can be disabled, unfortunately you can't disable it on red dead redemption 2, same on xbox. please create a topic about it on the rockstar support forum, https://support.rockstargames.com/community/3600006804541 point

Hi everyone, I experience a similar issue, although it may be of a bit different nature. In my case, it's not just blurry graphics, but the whole image gets severely distorted when camera is moved left or right. So. the picture is more or less crisp only if I stand still or move straight ahead. Any slight movement of camera to the side, and I can barely see anything: "double image" effect and a blurry mess. The faster the movement the bigger the distortion. This is partly because it is a 30 FPS game and TV is not very fast, although I use the Game mode, but this game is definitely much worse at this aspect than others. After 10-15 mins of play I get a headache and I cannot enjoy the game when the image is so bad during movement. I've recorded a small video of this. I use a PS4 Pro on a 1080p TV. Tried enabling/disabling supersampling - didn't help. Also tried to connect the console to my fast PC monitor - a bit better there, however the issue is still present. The only thing that helps with this is switching to any other non-game mode on TV and enabling the smooth picture setting (that adds frames), but that causes terrible input lag, so not an option for me either. Hope they'll address this soon. The game is great apart of this poor technical implementation. Update: replaced the video with a better one, recorded directly from PS4.1 point

Haha, yes I am very critical. But also logical in my opinions (i think). Aside from a few things that really does sometimes spoil the experience for me such as the bad rendering on PS4 Pro, the lack of HDR and the heavy, cumbersome user interface and controls (especially when your character is on foot - he moves WAY too slow), this game is still an absolute phenomenon! It is slow paces, yes. The story is a slow-burner, for sure. But there is enough things in the game that is done unbelievably well and those things redeem the game for me. The setting, the lighting, the environments, the way all the activities gel together so well...it is a truly amazing game. But it is also let down by NPC modelling and animations that is sometimes done terribly. And I mean, TERRIBLY! Like crappy indy game of 10 years ago kind of terrible. It's a mixed bag, really. A fantastically addictive mixed bag.1 point
