  2. I think you're right. It is all about Online now and the people attracted to that are so dim, you could feed them a turd and they would love it. I'm definitely not wasting any more of my time on this.

  3. Your own words betray you based on the preponderance of the evidence: Not using "normie" but the equivalent. You can lie to me and lie to yourself, but the truth will set you free.

  4. Hi, I had been wondering how to do this. I found this little guide. Link with pics: https://www.pwrdown.com/gaming/red-dead-redemption-2-online-how-to-mute-other-players/

  5. After spending a few (frustrating)hours online, here's what I think needs to be addressed: - no private lobbies available - player icons should not be lit all the time, just breeds trolls and man was there alot of trolls - you lose all pelts on your horse if you die, makes no sense, unless the horse was attacked also - There needs to be a heavy penalty/bounty for killing other players/horses (LIKE R* promised) - Players should not be able to be attacked while in an animation (skinning etc..) or they need to add a way break an animation if you see someone approaching. People sit back and wait for you to start skinning an animal and then kill you or lasso you - Passive mode????? - From what I've seen, there isn't a way to sell valuables. - You can't set up camps anywhere you want, only set locations. (and they charge you a buck each time)

  6. Yea you know I think that’s really my issue with trolls. They’re chicken shits they camp out around mission start points hiding behind sh*t waiting for you or they do like you day and wait till they can shoot you in the back when they know you can’t do anything back to them real quick or they wait for you to go afk while getting a drink or somthing then come kill you. They don’t face you head on cuz they’re too scared and know they’ll lose

  7. So essentially what your telling me is that those of us that want to play the game the right way and actually play the mini games the way they were intended to be played should just get off and never play again cuz we don’t like the **** offs that are just there to be a di*k? So you want me to just play single player cuz I play the game right and I’m respectful of players that are just minding their own business but it’s totally alright for the ****in idiots to just keep on playing cuz they’re just doing a wonderful job?

  11. I've been just about managing the cash so far - I've upgraded my camp, modified some guns, and always enough food. My tips: 1) Having ultimate edition, with free varmint rifle and horse really, really helps. Sorry. 2) Unlocking ranks gives treasure map rewards. Always worth doing. Rank up as quick as you can by doing stuff. 3) Loot every structure of cans of food and tonics. You also sometimes find jewels to sell to fence. 4) Whenever travelling (fast travel costs, only do when necessary), shoot and pick and loot everything as you go - don't worry about pelts (you'll never get them to the butcher), just get feathers, meat, talons etc - these you keep in satchel. This is the most sure fire way of getting dosh - but it takes time. I can spend a few hours doing this to get any real dosh. But it's surefire. 5) Clear bandit hideouts - then loot everyone. Usually worth it. 6) Loot bodies as you do missions.

  12. I totally understand the frustration with the archery thing. Same with a number of other game modes where the objective is to capture a place, hold a place, use only certain weapons, or shoot targets or whatever - regardless more than half the group just run around shooting everyone - making the game mode entirely pointless! I've even had people just ignore stuff on story missions and try to wreck them. Why troll a story mission? I think we have to admit that most people who play games are imbeciles and that games should be designed with that in mind.

  13. Pretty much everything will be solved by time m8. Its fresh start of beta 😉 once trolls have bounty on their heads for killing you for no reason and people/law will hunt them down it will be OK. Btw you only see enemies on minimap for a certain period od time (when you character sees them physically/ when there is shooting etc.). They can hide behind or inside a building and u don't see them anymore. Btw i think those deadmatches will be much better when people get other weapons like scope rifles/shotguns etc. But after all classic deathmatch is only 1 mode out of like 10 others so. I really like that team deathmatch when you get points according to weapon used 1 for repeater/7 for tomahawk etc.)

  14. just registered to comment here. feel so disappointed, got mislead by the online review that ps4 pro is closer to xbox one x version in terms of graphics. obviously, i played a few days of the ps4 pro one, my eyes are blurry, i can't continue. Is there a way to force the game run at 1080p on ps4 pro on a 4k tv? by setting ps4 pro resolution to 1080p?? Rockstars, i am really disappointed , I won't buy game from you anymore.

  17. My Husband & I have been trying to do the side missions and level up and save money to buy a bow for the main mission, It seems though we stay off the main roads, stay away from people that a lot of the players will literally go out of there way to just come and shoot us. We then get into a Killing spree back and forth until some one parleys. This takes a lot of hours out of our game play, we work, we have maybe 2-5 hours per day of game play... The last thing I want to do when I get home from dealing with people all day,... is have to get home and deal with the Snot nosed Murderous Children who clearly only play the game to ruin every ones day by random acts of unnecessary PvP violence! It takes precious time out of our doing missions to have to constantly stop and defend ourselves from random kiddies who constantly PvP you, everything from just riding by and the shoot you on the way by, to tracking you way out in the wilds and attacking you. This PvP is out of hand, It's passe, and with all the PvP games out there and e-sport battle Royales, PvP no longer has a relevant place in open World games... Specially when the game is based on PvE content. PvP & PvE should always be separated on their respective servers. I do not see the point of Rockstar bringing out another GTA5 style of open world game. RDR2O is basically that, GTA5 only set in the 1800's.... Back to the top of this post. Again my Husband & I are doing the main story missions and side quest, Though we can do PvP, and will kill our attacker over, and over, and over, and over...well you get the point, THAT disrupts our game play and time. There should be a way to turn PvP completely off. Another irritating factor is some of the side missions do AGAIN the GTA5 B.S. of trying to bring a mission in and it actually promotes other players to PvP and stop you!! On top of all the NPC coming after you! That Cow Stuffing needs to be taken out of the game!! Thanks for reading

  18. Fixed. Anarchy is not synonymous with freedom. Illogical. How is it "playing the game" when you have to spend the entire session running from groups of kill squads or trolls whose only pleasure in the game is hounding and harassing folks? That's not playing the game, that's willfully signing up to be a victim. That said, this is the initial iteration of the online beta, and I doubt that this is anywhere near the finished product. As opposed to playing like a bloodthirsty Neanderthal incapable of complex thoughts outside of "KILL"? Grouping up with a posse to harass and troll solo players takes no skill, talent or ability, whatsoever. If I wanted to play "The Purge" online, then that's what I'd play. What your are advocating is complete and total lawless anarchy. If that's what works for you, personally, then that's fine, but that's not what was advertised when people purchased this game. There's nothing "legit" about the way PvP is currently structured in the beta at the moment. You can call it "legit" PvP, but it's essentially the "normie" PvP with auto aim and persistent radar identification and location of other players. It takes no skill or talent at all right now. If this is what you want, to keep it the way it is and have R* ignore the "whiners" and "normies", then you're basically advocating for "god mode" PvP, which is preposterous in a game that has an immersive single player mode bogged down in tedious levels of realism. The switch to an online mode with pervasive PvP that make it impossible for folks to have a choice at all is preposterous, lazy, and will kill off any audience outside "1337 wtfpewpewgitgudnormienoob" players. Why are your rights more important than the rights of players who don't want to be forced to endure being trolled/griefed because they're forced into playing persistent PvP?

  20. So today I get the on-line beta .... first part of it fine ... However the instant I go into Blackwater on free roam, immediate idiot fest...... Two little fools seperately attack me and kill me... because I am not even paying them attention. Why would I? This is why I NEVER play on-line, this is why i never payed GTA5 on line or COD on line or anything else on line...... If I wanted to mix with moronic idiots then I would go out and find some ... So unless Rockstar or whomever find some way to shut down the pond life... Then no thanks, not for me. If these puerile little ****s wish to fight there should be a process... a process in which I can refuse... Indeed there should be a menu choice which says "No interaction whatsoever with any other live player with an IQ below 140" That's my opinion and frankly I care less what anyone else thinks because I do not have the wiring to care.

  21. Oh and go on the defense and kill them first? Hmmm wow I would’ve never thought of that! What a great idea cuz you can totally kill 3 guys and get to the mission start point before they respawn and come back! Wow I must be an idiot for not thinking of that before! Why don’t you try it and come back and tell me how it works out for you. Id bet money you get 2 of 3 down and then those will have respawned by time you get the 3rd down then your in the same predicament that you were before you started. And MAYBE I’m bored with single player. I have a million dollars and nothing else to buy or unlock so I’m sorry I enjoy the idea of creating a character and actually having sh*t to work for and unlock now! But hey guys I guess all of us that are like me and hate trolls have to stop playing cuz this dudes obviously from R* and has all the answers and he says not to play the game anymore if we don’t like the idiots that aren’t even playing right.

  22. I'm the same way. I have Autosave turned off because I don't want it to save at the wrong moment. I manually save after missions, task completions, perfect pelt received, etc. I also create a new save file with each major story arc or character development point. This enables me to go back to key points or chapters in the story if I want to with clear breaks in the save progression. When I decided I wasn't ready to complete the game and end my time with Arthur in Chapter 6, it was easy for me to identify the last save in chapter 4 when I completed Arthur's satchels and start again fresh from there. In chapter 5 again now and taking my time.

  23. Most PS4's explode upon being plugged in/ burst into flames while playing/ eat your game disc/ The only REAL and TRUE way to avoid losing game saves is to buy an Xbox and Manually save your game often
    1 point
  24. Only thing i would add, If you chose passive mode you will have to stay for the remainder of the session to avoid "Passive mode trolling" like in gta and could you elaborate on the "fantasy" part i didn't quite understand

  25. I wouldn't like that. I shouldn't have to restart entirely just to join my friends that chose to play in pvp. I still think removing players from the map would be all it takes to stop the trolling. That way, everyone can still play together without any segregation or separate servers. Trolls can still troll, but they'll have a much harder time finding people to screw with. Casual players can actually play the game, while still having to watch their backs.

  26. On the "Kill 5 Birds from a Moving Train" Challenge in sharpshooter, I have a practical solution; O'Driscolls and Lemyone Raiders routinely rob trains either south of Valentine or West of Saint Denis (South of Rhodes). Kill the robbers, and BOOM--free empty train that you can drive up and down the tracks with out worrying about bounties. That's how I did it--south of Rhodes, so there were TONS of birds in the air around that swamp.

  27. I've encountered a few bugs but it runs good. .....trolling on the other reached epic proportions last night for me. Engaging them only makes it worse as they simply respawn in and continue their attack. We spent more time defending ourselves and running away from toxic players than actually engaging in any of the activities.

  28. This is the first time i've heard of Godless, so last night during dinner i sat down to watch it. Food is my thing, not much comes between me and my dinner. But after turning on Godless and trying to watch the first episode, for the first time in 40+ years, i fell asleep during dinner. that show is way to slow for me, and i love westerns, maybe i'll try and watch it again Saturday morning, see if it puts me into a midmorning nap lol.

  30. I feel you mate! I deal with the same problems! My biggest concern, even knowing its a beta, is the MASSIVE "Trolling / Griefing" that there is.. I try to be kind to everyone i meet, and i always end up getting shot. It takes away the fun. (For me atleast) i know there is some PVP people, loving the fact, that they can shoot everyone, without any reason.. But for me = No go! The prices is insane, its absurd how much things cost, and how slow the money earnings take.. Remember to report these thoughts on the feedback form Rockstar provided!

  31. You are lucky, that you can even do missions.. every mission i get a Error: 0x10001022 ! BUT, im guessing today, the real stress test begins, and i bet Rockstar knows the pressure that will be put on the servers. Harley Clark: Remember to report on the Rockstar Feedback, concering RD ONLINE. Its important that they know these issues 🙂

  32. I haven't really experienced any issues so far. Everything seems to be working pretty good.

  33. Only Rockstar knows mate... But, i think for now.. There will be some time before they actually reset stuff, and do updates. I think today will be the big test, as everyone with a copy of RDR2 can play online.. Im guessing things will be pretty hectic server wise. As noted by Rockstar Games in a BETA Launch post, which explains all there is to know about the Early Access period, the studio hopes "that all player progress during this early period of the beta will be able to remain intact long term".

  35. I really hate the always on, forced PvP. If we are not given some option to avoid it, then I won't be playing it for long most likely. I also hate the radar maps showing your location to people in other states. You should only see folks that your character would be aware of.

  36. Not bad! Thought I'd make myself a lady after all the hours I've spent watching Arthur's backside.

  37. I don't care when a game I consider bad encourages griefing. It's only when one that I really like does it. I'm hoping that by the time this gets out of beta there will be servers or some other accommodation for those who don't wish to be harassed while enjoying this game.

  41. I enjoy PvE, but understand there is want for PvP. If you want to make me deal with PvP all the time then give me some immersive suspension of disbelief. Make ‘murder’ actually a deterrent instead of a trivial penality. Flag offenders for hours even after respawn. Make bounties for ‘murder’ incremental and exorbitant, including gold and XP for tracking down a ‘murder’. Or make that penality actually have consequences, like permently loosing / dropping firearms, funds, items, and or Perminant loss of mounts. Make towns and cities raise the calls for marshals and mobs to hunt down offenders. If you want to kill other players there are events for that. If you really have to pull the trigger on a PvEer, have a consequence that is meaningful. Otherwise, speaking personally, I have no reason to buy gold (mocotransactions coming soon) to lessen the grind or continue to play in lobby after lobby of griefers.

  42. Some real top fun aspects but then it annoyed the crap out of me that some troll can spawn kill me time and time again as I'm trying to complete a quest and there was nothing I could do other than close the game down. I play loads of games and it's very rare that something annoys me so much I feel the need to log a website and moan about it so, kudos to Rockstar for that.
    1 point
  43. The only people ruining the game are those whose only idea of fun is exploiting the spawn mechanics.
    1 point
  44. Completely agree with OP. I was trying to do the wolf quest and was outgunned by this camper. I would spawn and he's right there shooting me before I can do anything. There should be times, zones or moments during quests or when crafting where you can't get attacked or spawn killed constantly because it's just going to put people off.
    1 point
  45. Sounds like something I would do once in a while, but we're definitely in the minority there. Most people just use it to troll. There's no way to ignore that fact.
    1 point
  46. Okay. Translation: "My experience will be ruined if they listen to feedback". Translation: "My rights! MY RIGHTS!!!" What about the rights of others? Being constantly killed by a group of people when you are just trying to enjoy the online mode will do more to "kill all incentive to do missions or hunt or whatever" than having passive mode enabled. Enabling passive mode in a PvP environment literally would remove the ability to be griefed, that's it. So unless you're advocating for the ability to grief people, there's no reason to argue against passive mode. And don't feed me your recycled line about "enjoying having to watch my back"--it's disingenuous. Nobody is forcing you, personally, to enable passive mode, so having it available in a PvP setting literally does nothing to your personal experience with the game. Everything you're advocating is about enabling elitist trolling behavior, and no amount of spin or linguistic window dressing is going to change that. "forced upon" you, like a victim? Nobody is ignoring your point, we're just calling out the logical fallacies within your arguments, and the contradictory nature of everything you've said. And claiming to be "ignored" is a classic victim move. So now, you claim to be a victim of being misunderstood or misinterpreted? Ooooh, and yet another "normie" blast, (while calling it "dumb" to boot) and is that another victim statement, implying you'd become a victim of an uneven playing field if people could be passive? Oh, and is that another "watching their backs" reference? Your argument fails on multiple levels. Again, selective passive mode does nothing to impugn your enjoyment of having to "watch your back" if you opt to not activate that feature. There's no reason the two can't be on the same server, unless you're advocating for the ability to indiscriminately kill other players whenever you choose. You're beating around the bush and refusing to acknowledge your elitist desires. You want the prestige and glamour of ranking up on a full-pvp server so you can say, with pride, "I'm 1337 wtfpewpewgitgudnoob" Certified!!!! That's literally the only other reason to advocate your position, if, as you claim, it's not about being able to indiscriminately murder whomever you want whenever you'd like.

  47. My point is that if you kill for no reason you are an asshole, as of now free roam killing grants you nothing that you cannot get from playing matches with other like minded players. therefore having "open range killing" go unchecked you are going to run people out of the game. the people who are going to get run off are the ones i want to play with. so if the game remains in its current state, a lot of good players will not be playing. as it is now you will have the world as death match like you want and you will be playing with the 5-10%(mostly under 18) who agree that it is fun, while the rest of us move on. thats how online games die. unfortunatly we need to say our opinions over and over because devs make games in thier own vision so it takes 10 of us for every one that is happy to make them see the issues. i have no issue with your requesting it not be changed. but when i am able i will rebutle every argument you make to hopefully change the game to be something fun for me to play. after all not one of us paid $60+ so that others could have fun while we play and do not.

  48. You have repeatedly advocated for "keeping it the way it is", and played the victim, calling anyone who doesn't agree with your anarchistic utopia a "normie" (it's practically become a crutch for you) which is a pejorative term. There has been no interest in a civil discussion from this topic by you other than to denigrate folks who disagree.

  49. I never really understood people who came down like vultures on any attempt to have -more- -optional- features in a game. If you don't like it, you don't use it. But sh*t flinging on people who aim for -more- customization is like fighting for nothing. "I hate you because you would like to include something I would never use". XD maaan. No optional extra content / features ever hurt anyone. It is a really smart cause to fight -against- it.... Who does it hurt, if you can -remove- something? You are one of those who like it? Then f*** leave it turned ON. +we already had the option to get rid of it, and they solved to take it away by -erasing- absolutely legally saved old outfits. This kid is 36 years old - working in the DevOps field. (not on games sadly..) If you do not give feedback, then there are no changes going to be made -ever-. Cussing on other's feedback is "I despise you because you prefer a slightly more options in gameplay than I do". XD now THAT is childish. Last but not least: if rdr2.org has nothing to do with red dead redemption officially, then, ok, I took the wrong turn XD "Entitled" XD ... We -always- gave feedback on ANY games EVER made. Were a bug tracker for long years for different games 10 years ago. it would be "entitled" to cry for it to make the game easier... PPl used to do that, then 3 years of game industry spitted out tons of nerfed games without any challenge XDDDDD But campaigning or petitioning for minuscule changes that add more immersion, and absolutely optional is nothing "hideous" or bad sort. Maybe you don't really know much about software development, but feedback and communication were always part of the process, mate. And one of these things is, if someone takes away an option that originally were there usually creates ALOT of negative feedback from users. If you shitting on the feedback as a user... JUST becase "why someone wants it"... is outright hilarious. Anyway, people can sign this stuff if they want- even if there are no developers visiting this forum- still a tad more for the headcount.

  50. You'll be able to buy things, don't worry. That's R$'s biggest form of turnover - people not being able to buy things in game and having to buy shark cards. Personally I don't think we need the Westworld level of gratuitous adult material in a video game. That's not what I play games for. Few bare chests or whatever is fine but a full blown orgy just seems like a massive waste of time. But I do agree with you about the double standards of gore vs sex, as does George RR Martin:
