This child is obviously not going to contribute anything useful to this forum (except the lols) and instead crow about how 1337 he is and offer up his house (which he likely doesn't own). I say we string him up by the feet and let the crows peck at him... or ban him. Dealer's choice.2 points

This conversation has turned full turd. If you were as good as you think you are (top 3...ha), you would be using your skill professionally. Judging from the fact that your trying to get views on Youtube (also terrible), I'm guessing you aren't. This is blatantly false. Your post count completely contradicts your "at all" charge. I would vote that this thread be closed because you're just fighting with each other now.2 points

My preferred pronoun is "Bro" not "buddy". "Chief" is also acceptable. Also, a piece of advice: if you're trying to use clickbait to drive views, maybe provide the link in the text and make it "clickable" (as in "click" bait). What you provided in the OP is more "copy-paste" bait. Of course, if you had more familiarity with self-promotion, you would have simply embedded the video in your post, like this:2 points

For those of you struggling trying to obtain max health stats, here's a really easy way to do so: buy a bow & arrows and just kill enemies, either by replaying story missions, doing gang hideouts, or killing other players (sometimes it's amusing to bring a bow to a gunfight). Each kill will either give you +10 or +15 health, but make sure you aim for the chest. If you aim for the head you'll more likely get +1 deadeye stat instead of health. Two days ago I was still at level 6 health, now I'm almost to level 10.2 points

To spin the game out longer I've been doing a lot of hunting tasks and really enjoyed the journey on acquiring the legend of the east satchel which massively improves satchel space. The last part of this task involves getting a perfect cougar pelt which turned out to be a bit of a pain for me. If you're hunting cougars head for the location on this part of the map. When you get there don't go to the illustration of the cougar on the map, or start meandering around in the woods, but keep travelling back and forth alongside the path at the side of the river. If you don't find one after a few attempts set up camp and try again. At first I hitched my horse and did this on foot and for some reason didn't encounter any cougars at all, so do this on your horse to increase your chances of finding one. If you've not encountered a cougar before they hit hard and fast, giving little notice of their presence or time to react to it. The good news is that their attack style is usually jumping at you in attempt to rip off your face, running off and coming straight back for another go at you. This gives you time ready your weapon and dead eye that beast. I found that there were more opportunities to find them in the mornings too. Finally, I personally didn't bother with predator bait which I find to be pretty ineffective in all circumstances.1 point

So, as a huge fan of the Single player, there is a couple of things i WISH, and hope they will include in the final RDO. These are just... A couple of realism inputs, and when the beta is over, and they fix all the glitches, lags, connection issues. What do you guys think? (I already made a feedback wish to Rockstar) - More life in the world (Like we saw in singleplayer) - More life in the cities (In small towns = Gun standoffs, and in the BIG cities common bar fight, and invite to a fight (The one in Saint denis with charles, etc) - Bring back the Single player stranger popups on the map, like the "Snake Suck Bite - Bear Trap - Woman Kidnapping) So on. - Bring in the minigames (Often placed in citys) , Like blackjack, poker, finger fillet, domino. etc. (I know the real life gambling issue, but that could be fixed by using ingame dollars) - House Building (i know it aint the sims, but somehow like the Epilogue with John) , and ofcourse to own propety and collect dollars. - Be able to ROB the stores, Houses and etc. Right now almost every house i entered, is empty. - Bring back real life beard & Hair Growth. - Lets be honest, that feature was awesome!! - And also do trimming in camp! Including shave! - Bring in a FEW voice spoken dialogs for your character. When you meet other players in the free roam, would be cool with a "Hey Mister, Hey Partner" or something!!? - More Gun twirling animations! - The one thats already there, is totaly awesome! - Able to bath, and maybe include a brothel! (In GTA there was prostitues, why not in RDO? - Afterall.. back then, that was a thing!) These where the things i just had in mind while playing the beta so far, having in mind its a beta ofcourse, i just hope they still go with the realism part. Am i way of hand here? ๐1 point

Curious what sort of money making routes you guys are doing in free roam. I've gotten into the pattern of hitting a fishing hole and then hunting on my way to the Valentine butcher and I'd like to plan a longer more varied route that hits multiple money making opportunities and butchers. Good hunting, fishing, herb collecting, gang spawns, etc? So what are your go to spots? Here's my Salmon fishing spot. They sell for $4.25 a pop, but require a $0.50 worm to catch until you can get lures at rank 30. The Salmon seem to appear in this very specific location and have some kind of spawning cycle where they aren't always there, but it's usually pretty reliable.1 point

One of the more challenging activities you can encounter in Red Dead Online while in free roam is a Gang Hideout waiting to be cleared. These camps of enemy bandits pop up occasionally in fixed locations and clearing them carries with it the chance to acquire some valuable items or treasure maps. If you intend to complete challenge awards, you'll inevitably be directed towards these hideouts sooner or later. Gang hideouts can spawn in 24 locations. These spawn locations are fixed, but there is no guarantee that the camp will be there when you travel to the spawn point. Of the 24 locations, a few are just out in the open with no props in the game world indicating their presence unless they're spawned in. Thanks to a Reddit user who goes by Rock1Jump, we have a map showing each Gang Hideout spawn location. The two locations that the author marked as "makeshift camp" are the ones that aren't obvious unless the hideout has actually spawned in. When you clear gang hideouts, there is a chance that the gang leader will drop a treasure map that will lead to you valuable loot somewhere in the game world. The drop rate for the maps isn't known as of present, but it is definitely very low - some players report that after clearing 20 hideouts, they've encountered none, while others found just one after 12 cleared hideouts. At the same time, a few lucky players report drop rates of two out of two cleared hideouts or one out of four hideouts, but these seem like fortunate outliers - especially the former. Treasure chests can only be looted by the player who has the treasure map. The physical chest itself is visible to all players in the session and can be opened if they find it, but there will only actually be any loot inside if you have the map pointing to it, otherwise, it will be empty. Due to the sporadic drop rate, relying on treasure maps from hideouts isn't a good strategy for securing income. Instead, check out our money making guide for Red Dead Online. Since hunting seems to be the best way to earn money in the game so far, I figured we should start a thread for newer players who are looking to earn some quick cash. Below are some tips that I've come up with after several days of doing nothing but bagging every animal I can see: Animals in Red Dead 2 have different quality pelts, and the better the quality the more money you can make. The kinds of pelts you can encounter are Perfect (***), Good (**), and Poor (*) Animals spawn randomly throughout the map, but my favorite places so far are Great Plains (Buffalo spawn there), Tall Trees, Blackbone Forest, and the Heartlands. The area between Valentine and Emerald Ranch seems to be a great spot because of how open it is. MAKE EVERY SHOT COUNT! If you riddle an animal with bullets the value of their pelt will decrease. If the animal is big enough try aiming for the head. When first starting out bag as many animals as you can, but as you start to earn more money and become a better hunter try going exclusively for "good" or "perfect" pelts since they will net a bigger profit. Your starting weapons are not great for hunting, so try and invest in some better firepower as soon as you can. The best all-around weapon for hunting is the Bolt Action Rifle, while the Varmint Rifle is good for small animals and even birds. The bow is also a good investment because it allows you to stealthily kill an animal without alerting any that are nearby. On the subject of weapons, keep in mind that if you shoot small animals with a large caliber weapon (e.g. the Bolt Action) it will reduce the value of their pelts. Bird hunting can be extremely profitable. Since most birds travel in flocks of two or more there is serious potential to earn a lot of cash by shooting down as many birds as you can. The Varmint Rifle or a repeater are your best options for taking down birds. The Baits (Herbivore Bait and Predator Bait) that you can buy in stores or craft aren't a great investment in my opinion. I've tried to use both on several occasions and either it won't work or only one or two animals will appear. I find it easier to hunt without it. If you kill a large animal (Buffalo, Bear, Elk, Moose, etc.) you are only allowed to carry one of their pelts at a time, so I suggest storing only the best quality pelt you can get. If you shoot an animal and it is dying, wait for it to bleed out. If you shoot it again the value of its pelt will decrease. When encountering a pack of animals, don't ride and/or run right into them. They'll likely hear you coming and disperse. Instead, hang back a bit and scout out the ones with good quality pelts. When you've found the best one, take it out first, and then go for as many others as you can. The bow is probably the best option for hunting packs of animals because of how quiet it is. Be careful of trolls. If they kill you you will lose your pelts that you've stored on your horse. Please feel free to add your own tips/advice to this thread!1 point

Good points. I'd like to add though that I've seen far more cougars in the northeast coenwr of the map ( north and west of Annesburg ). But I agree that predator bait and hiding is pointless while hunting cougars. THEY HUNT YOU! So no cover scent lotion.1 point

It's how I make money, Sky. Only during the day and north of St Denis. Look for flocks, there are some on the ground but flocks are your big money.1 point

My last job told me they had plans for me too. I ended up picking up the slack for 3 other workers and never got a raise for it. I told them to stick the position where the sun don't shine soon as I found another job. Just start looking now. Sounds like they want to take advantage of you.1 point

A fact that you can't back up.. Isn't a fact. Its an opinion. So let me get this straight... If people use free aim and go for body shots its noobish or just luck. But when you use auto aim.. Its 100% pure skill and you're the best ever. LMFAO.1 point

I don't mean to make light of the issues involving horse insurance and the online mode, but every "horse" related post (since 99% of them involve misfortune) make me think of this:1 point

So you automatically asume I'm bad because I said free aim requires more skill? I came from 5yrs of GTA:O this aim flick shoot is nothing new, all those headshots you pulled after a week I was doing on day one because of that... if I get anyone diving in front of me I'm killing them from that mistake, I just need to quickly aim again and flick to the right the time they need to get up from the dive I already killed them when they hit the floor.... Also you need to get near me, or I'll snipe you with a rifle because I prefer to free aim... I'm by no means PRO-Plays RDR competition gamer, in fact that adds literaly nothing to my life, I couldn't care less about that and I got better sh*t to do, but you are good I'll give you that and if being good at a TPS is what defines you then spend more time perfecting that and good luck to you partner. BTW I actually saw the whole video because I found it interesting, you click bait people with misleading titles or content... I would watch another before? Yes because of the content... will watch another now? Nope, the poster has shitty personality in my opinion.1 point

Whilst free roaming, I felt the urge to kill and skin an Angus Ox, whilst doing so, the farmers weren't too happy and started to shoot at me, I killed both farmers and I manage to pick up a special hat from the dead farmer, I then thought I would check out the sheds and barns to see if there were items of interest to pick up, like cigarette cards and lotions and what have you, I came across this disturbing scene as you can see from the screenshot. What was the most horrific/ disturbing scene you have come across so far?1 point

Here are 4 screenshots from my first couple of weeks playing. There were all originally saved through PS4's Share function to my FB. Then I DL'd my FB images and uploaded them here. I don't know how much image degradation is occurring, if any, from doing the above. I forget which file formats were used. The last 2 compare a non HDR screenshot (3rd picture) and a HDR screenshot (4th pitcture). The comparison between the 2 looks pretty close to how it looks on my HDR TV. RDR2 has a known issue with it not properly displaying HDR content on the PS4/PS4PRO. I imagine it will be fixed in a future patch. But all these images look about the same, or close, to how they look on my TV. Furthermore, I don't know if you can take a proper screenshot of a HDR image. For since it's a 10 bit image, then the SS is going to need to be 10 bit too. And you'll need a 10 bit panel to be able to see it correctly.1 point

Me too. I really enjoyed the Ghost Bison outfit, and that's something I would really like in Red Dead Online. Maybe they can add even more outfits if they eventually do add the trapper to RDO.1 point

That has happened on about half our family holiday gatherings in the past decade. With a few exceptions, my family does not know how to relax. Everyone gets all tense and someone says something that pisses someone else off, and they just can't seem to forgive each other.1 point

If you crouch, you're icon will show as grey which means no one can see you. Also, I suspect some are using the respawn feature to get out of firefights. I've spent a while examining other player's behavior on the main map. Sometimes the players disappear only to show up a bit of a distance away. .....sometimes they disappear but show up relatively close to where they were. Other times the icons seem to jump around a bit in close proximity which I can only guess is lag. On the minimap though, if a player disappears, it could be that they have crouched to avoid detection or respawned. I have a feeling some trolls may be doing that to get around their victim and to try and gain an edge. If you start running when crouching, you will be seen again. If you skin and animal, look at the catalogue, etc., you're detectable. You have to walk while crouched to get around anywhere and remain undetected.1 point

I actually want to tell people to just send me money via PayPal now to see what they say. When you think about it though... if everyone is just giving each other cash... what is the point of it? You either end up with the same amount, less, or more. Gifts are no different. You are basically buying people things in return for things you may not want or even need so it is like we are blindly spending money for no reason other than because the fat cats trick us into believing it is part of the "holiday spirit". Grinch had it right. Spend nothing and STEAL EVERYTHING!1 point

What is a Western without a bar fight and someone getting thrown through a window? I don't like that when I go get drunk in a saloon then start a brawl it's only a short moment before some NPC starts shooting and the whole thing becomes a blood bath! I want it more classic cinematic Western rather than GTO with cowboy hats.1 point

This was happening to me at the weekend, but didn't happen at all yesterday, think they're fixing it. I found another bug, I have the free Arabian, worked him up for races and set him as default for racing. But I happened to be (role)playing around on my big Shire horse when I entered Race Series and turned up on the Shire! I looked such a fool on the big mare, at a race! Still won it though, which was even more satisfying, so I think I'll take her racing more often. It feels great punching someone out from up there, makes me feel safer, though she takes turns like a tank...1 point

People just like to argue their favorite current whatever against everything even if it doesn't make sense. A lot of Fornite players have become similar to the typical CoD players there no matter what, they consider it the best game ever.1 point
