Hello all, Tired of getting your face blown off while skinning that 3-Star cougar? Are you sick of having to check your map for enemy players while reeling in a 20lb Muskie? If so you are not alone. Luckily...RED_DEADMAN understands your frustration and is here to help. As a rank 110 player, I have enough experience with griefers to know that sometimes...you just need a little extra firepower. That's where I come in. What I offer? I offer my time and my rifle. I will accompany you on your adventures and ensure that hostile players and their crew do not get within a lethal distance of you or your posse. Ensuring the safety of you and your friends during any expeditions(hunting, fishing , stranded missions etc. What does my service cost? Absolutely nothing. (I do however accept tips in the form of animal carcus/pelts added to my horse....but not required). I am in this more for the experience and to meet new players. How does it work? Simply send me a friend request on PSN with a message saying "RDS" (Or basically anything else you want that let's me know you are from the forums). If I am available at that time I will join your online session. I will not join your posse for security reasons, unless you are willing to assume the risk. I will remain in your general vicinity and protect you at all costs unless your safety requires me to leave the area. Leaving you free to focus on enjoying the day. What about chat? I will accept invites to your party but will not utilize a microphone unless your safety requires me to do so...or if you have special instructions during my term of employment. This service is for PS4 players only and intended to be more fun that serious...although everything previously stated is 100% accurate.9 points

Me too buddy....me too. The offhand holster like we have now is for cross-draw. Actually drawing your left firearm with you left hand in the current position isn't really at all practical3 points

I just had to read your post in the voice of Morgan Freeman Even now.. whilst typing this reply.. I'm talking out loud.. in the voice.. of Mr. Morgan Freeman.3 points

I know right? that's when I change my posse name to "is hunting (players name)" so they know they just received my full attention. I imagine what goes through their head when they see my name above my character and is sais..... Just using your name as an example but you get the idea. I change my posse name all the time depending on mood whenever I'm playing solo so I can display info to others. (most probably never notice but some do).3 points

Ive already been doing this in free roam lobbies for sometime now. Ive even been shot at by the player ive been protecting before. Lol3 points

Also, the reason I dont join your posse "for security reasons " is so whenever I DO have to kill someone to defend you, you do not show up as a hostile enemy to the griefers or their posse. A few have asked and I didnt exactly state why.3 points

I would urge you to use the in-game "report" feature. There is one description that covers abusive / racist language. That (I believe) gets reported to Rockstar. I would also encourage you to go to the player's profile (there is an in-game link) so you can block them. .....that takes you to their profile within the PSN. This will also stop any continued harassment outside of the game but if someone is dumb enough to message you using the PSN feature before you are able to block them, then report them to Sony right away. They will see the message as proof of harassment, language, etc. and will take action. Other than that, I would suggest muting everyone except those in your own posse if it's overwhelming.3 points

Totally (and respectfully) disagree. By comparison, the amount of effort needed to make this happen is infinitesimal compared to what they had to do to build RDR2. And that game's so hot right now - and SOOOOO many RDR2 players have never played the rest of John's story (or even know it!) - based on the needed time invested to make it happen vs. the enormous interest, they're guaranteed to make quite a lot more on it than they did on Undead Nightmare. Certainly it wouldn't come close to RDR2 sales, but it would be a grand moneymaker. Of this, I'm ridiculously confident. ALL the tools already exist. It would be silly not to.2 points

I don't have to share the spoils of victory. Like beer. That's two big things, right there. You know you'll never get "The Bro Show" in your posse. I'd sooner trust Micah to cover my back than group with a bunch of Rando Calrissians.2 points

Much rather be able to co-op in the campaign to be honest. ......but yeah, maybe I'd be interested although I don't see them offering a "for purchase" DLC in RDO (only for the campaign if there ever is one). The things they do add to online will likely always be offered to everyone as part of the experience. GB MTXs are what will be driving RDO into the future.2 points

I stop playing when R* disconnects me from their service every fifteen minutes. They can't claim that they care when they design the mechanics of a game to specifically suit the activity. There's a reason traditional MMOs had segregated servers for PvP and PvE, and why now, the undisputed Emperor of MMOs, WoW, has gone to an individual toggle for PvE and PvP status by player, within the same server. PvEvP is a euphemism. A lie. If you can attack another player, it's PvP, period. Adding in a third-party, such as NPCs does nothing to alter the fact that players can actively attack other players. If anything, the true designations should break out to PvP, PvE (with "E" changing from "Environment" to "Everyone" or "Everything"), and "PvN" with the "N" standing for "NPC". It's sloppy, lazy, uninspired design. For my money, the trend towards "PvEvP" games is just as much an indictment against the industry as the blatant copying of the "Battle Royale" phenomenon. If R* really cared about the online portion as much as the single player story mode, they'd devote resources into creating something new or different to set them apart from their peers in the MMO or "Games as a Service" arena. And make no mistake, RDO is being built as a Service.2 points

The rest of the missions can only be completed once your Honor Meter reaches the complete OPPOSITE of what it was for the previous missions. Example: If you were mostly honorable during the 1st several missions then you will need to become DISHONORABLE. After a while, the mission icons will reveal themselves.2 points

Exactly this! - I am getting tired of people having public mic`s on... I almost INSTANYLY "mute all" on the server i am on. I did experience a fun thing though.. While hunting in Armadillo, a guy and proberly 3 others had a public chat about narcotics, and how weed would make the whole world better.. And in about 41 minutes of chatting, a guy gets Raid by cops.. you can hear the whole dialogue.. "POLICE.. GET DOWN.. -> what the fuuck.. DUUUUDE... GET DOWN" .. That i want more of... ! Not people chewing loudly, or mumbling kids.. its getting stressfull.. haha!2 points

I'll assume that's a bad thing then haha! I seldom bother with online at the best of times, I prefer me some 90's original story mode only. Online never appeals to me, plus you quickly realize that the small portion of asshats make it seem like everyone's a douche.2 points

Muting everyone is the first thing I do now when I get online. Tired of internet tough guys screaming in my ear about how they'd 'kick your ass' IRL and so on. A lot of it is 10 year olds who clearly aren't mature enough to play this game made for adults. Albeit I've heard some immature adults do the same thing. I don't even hook up the mic anymore unless I join a private chat party.2 points

I try and spend most of my time up north, away from the crowds and griefers. But, I am forced to travel all the way down the map to sell my pelts. Annesburg would be an ideal spot for a butcher location to allow people to stay in the general locations that they want to hunt in. Any where else that would help?1 point

That phenomenon is actually a Hollywood trope as opposed to actual legal doctrine. There is currently no article, subsection, or law on file with the United States Code of Federal Regulations which requires Army Rangers to identify themselves as having received special training before an engagement in either civilian or military activities. Unless there is relevant case law (which I was unable to locate) specifically spelling out legal requirements for current or former military to self-identify and inform an opposing party in a dispute of specialized training, then it doesn't exist. Simply put, it's movie magic, and a plot point from "Con Air": Not doubting your story, @YodaMan 3D, but the person claiming such was full of hot air.1 point

I'm expecting (hoping?) that double hip holsters will appear as new content down the line. It can't be too hard to implement, and is only cosmetic, with no gameplay consequences. At the very least, I wish there was an option to remove your crossdraw holster. One of my outfits would look much better without it. I'm prepared to take the hit on functionality, but it is the one option that you can't take off in wardrobe, like your boots or gloves, for example.1 point

Everyone I've played with has had the same disconnect error to some extent or another. Even though it's not really an issue for me since it's rare that I get disconnects, it's still a problem as I don't experience that in most other games I play online.1 point

I'm also for hire. If you would like someone to ride alongside you screaming like a banshee and shouting 'Don't shoot me , don't shoot me' while I try to reload my guns, then just PSN me online.1 point

The idea of a cross draw holster "normally" is that you can draw it with your dominant hand. The idea behind carrying two side arms (e.g. one crossdraw and the other on the hip) is typically so the wearer has a backup that they can access (again) with their dominant hand to help keep them in the fight. That's practical IMO. ......the whole idea of dual wielding is not but then again, we're talking about RDR which isn't that serious about what's real vs. fun (Hollywood). Aside from all that, I agree that they should allow for various ways to wear you weapons. I think it would be cool to mix it up and a way for people to express more individuality with their characters. Maybe add two hip holsters, reversed/cross draw hip, shoulder holster, etc. Probably too much work for them bother but perhaps worth it if they make some of the new setups Gold Bar exclusives. Anyhow, just for kicks and giggles...... Here's a random video I found with someone demonstrating weak hand draw with a cross draw holster just to show that it can be done as an option if needed. Yeah, it was poorly done although IIRC if you choose to holster while dual wielding using the "fancy" option (double click), it will show you holstering a similar way like in the video which I thought was cool the first time I saw. .....but when you just normally draw or holster while dual wielding, it's awful.1 point

Yup. I've had players kill me for kicking them out of my posse I accidentally left open. I'll just kill them right back tenfold.1 point

Lobbies = Fix. You want the band aid (s) They never tried? In GTAO. They have wanted levels and cops. Bad Sport lobbies. Insurance.. And Passive mode. All of that is used against players. And none of that stop griefers. In GTA O. You can have cops chasing a griefer around. Who if you defend yourself against the griefer, all the cops chasing the griefer stop and shoot the player defending themselves. Seems to me the only reason you're against private lobbies or friendly lobbies is that you're worried about R* block some content? Well, if the content is pvp related it should be blocked. Ifs it not pvp related it should be playable. This isn't that complicated. Its far more easier to create separate lobbies than to police all forms of hostile player actions.1 point

@YodaMan 3D I'm on the Mississippi Coast but an habitual night owl. I find myself in servers with lots of Europeans and Australians. If I see you on I will surely throw you an invite. @The Coca-Cola Kid I'll hit you up within a mentation if you like. Despite advanced age failing eyesight slower reflexes Etc I think I have gained about 12 levels in the last week and it's all due to riding posse with BurbonChaser. He has also schooled me in some of the finer points eliminating a lot of my oversights and weaknesses! Value here is seeing players with experience in action. Example: instead of 150 or 200 XP points on a story mission, I've been hitting 500 to 650 per mission. We also plan routes to avoid griefers and watch each other's back against same 😁1 point

I got this earmarked. Dude this is the neatest thing I have seen. You are really on to something.1 point

Sometimes I change it to say "I wont shoot 1st" if I'm hunting or fishing in case someone encounters me out there. Other times itll say "Ill kill you all". I know tons don't pay attention but ive had some pretty awesome encounters by using this to communicate.1 point

I comes down to profit. Ultimately, R* needs it to be as hard as possible for us to earn money, because it will make us spend actual money, on gold. The problem is, R* chooses to use other players to increase the difficulty of the game instead of making the game itself more difficult. The reason they do this is because it's a quicker, free solution. Imagine how great online would be if they upped the NPC game and gave us a real challenge. Griefing would be at a minimum because people would actually be playing the game.1 point

I'm only at 18% in so far but it needs to be the environment, dialogue at times doesn't seem quite engrossing sometimes, it's a little repetitive and non engaging. But the landscape and wildlife is unheard of with the details, I couldn't imagine this in my wildest dreams even just 10 years back.1 point

I get what you're saying and yes that would be more of a challenge than rooftop farming. I just feel that any shooter with auto aim is diluted. All anyone is learning is how to use the auto aim system, not learning to actually shoot.1 point

The background sounds makes everything so immersive. The sound of hooves trotting down the stone-paved streets of saint denis, the chirping of song birds, the loud peals of thunder, etc.1 point

Most of the time when it is just banter or word attacks, I just give it back. If they aren't screwing me over in the game, I don't care much. I spend time on 9GAG and have used 4Chan before so things like this just don't phase me. Just mute, report, and move on brother.1 point

You need to feed, give medicine or stamina tonics. While on or near your horse, hold L1/LB, press R1/RB to tab over to "Horse" and move the right stick to the Left (9:00) (and while holding L1/LB and the Right stick to the Left you can tab through available feeds using L2/R2/LT/RT) and release L1/LB to feed your horse your selection. I like to use Hay or Wild Carrots as they give large core boosts to both Stamina and Health. The same methods apply to Stamina and Health/Medicine "tonics" at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 on the radial menu.1 point

Love all of these ! A couple I have would be catching wild horses and a place to keep them. Outfits from animals like in story mode. Hidden caves , ability to pan for gold , ghost riders that come for grieves , biggest fish and animal stats that can be chased and posted to a leader board. And last but not least many more missions and guns ! Lol1 point

Mmmm really? My upgraded saddle bag holds 10 of everything, except jewellery. Hardly a significant upgrade. $80 is a lot of money in this game.1 point
