  1. Thankfully my wife sits beside me while I play a lot, and she usually talks to me and cools me off. Lately it's been the usual low level cowards who shoot you, then leave the session before you can get revenge. The other night I was shot in Rhodes 3 times. Finally I started singing 'Shot in Rhodes Again' to the tune of Willie Nelson's 'On the Road Again.' Acutally, I wrote an entire song and recorded it. It's hilarious, and if I wasn't such a horrible singer, I would post it here! Anyhow, that's how I dealt with the events from that night. I wrote a song lmao In the end, my wife and I laughed hysterically at the lyrics and I forgot all about the griefer!

  2. Maybe if they get a bounty immediately upon committing the crime, that follows them regardless if they log off. In other words, if they log off, the bounty sticks when they log back on. ....including time limit penalties or whatever. Maybe that might make logging off a moot point? Just spitballin' here.

  3. It really depends on what you're hunting for, gators, herons, sponbills are abundant outside of Saint Denis. Good hunting North West of strawberry, plenty of wildlife everywhere really. Condors and other game in New Austin, especially around Amarillo and tumbleweed.

  4. I would like to see high bounties put on persistent griefers in the game. It's getting out of hand now most are low level kids but some are high level adults. Another feature that could be added is a safe time card meaning for a short period you can not be attacked or attack any one. Nothing more annoying than spending 2 hours collecting perfect pelts just to have them lost by some A hole greifer shooting you and your horse whilst on the way to sell them, I dont get why these fools dont just join showdown if that's the kind of play they want.

  5. I play games for the graphics and the better they get the better I like them, from Zaxxon, to Goldeneye to Half life, to Crysis, to Veitcong, to cod ww2, to RDR2 has been a heck of a ride. I love this game so much, I played through the story mode quickly, then replayed it to go slower and find all the things I could, then at 94% complete and story 100% I decided maybe it would be cool to get and play rdr again, its been 10 years, I really never played the story, I tried the game and it was cool, but I never really got into it too much. I thought it would be cool to keep going with the story and play it now as a sequel, well let me tell you, Rockstar did such an amazing job with rdr2 that it is really hard to go back. Im trying, Ive done a few missions, and I am free roaming, it is neat to find stuff I found in rdr2 while free roaming now, etc.. but all in all I can not get into it, it just lacks so much of what made rdr2 awesome that although I want too I just keep thinking about how great EVERYTHING in rdr2 is compared to rdr. even picking plants, it is so detailed and specific now, in comparison I am having a tough time enjoying the rdr stuff, I just keep thinking of how much it lacks compared to its prequil sequal release. I wish I had stuck it out 9 years ago when I had the game on my 360, I think I am going to go for a third play through over playing rdr1. Honestly I would pay a premium for rdr1 to be redun with the new engine, so it looks and plays like rdr2, I would 110% buy it all over again and play it all over again, there is so much to these games, I just feel like the first game would benefit greatly, more people would play it and the sequel would make a lot more sense. Anyway just my day dreaming fantasy for today, I cant say enough about this game, it literally took over my winter, I havent played another game in months or left my house unless it was necessary, I opted to stay in from the cold New England weather and play RDR2 until I dropped. If they added a feature to hang people, to use your lasso for many other things like tree climbing and stuff, I think rdr2 would be perfect. It is a game changer, I cant imagine playing an open world game any less beautiful than this, I bought far cry 5 and havent even looked at since the day rdr2 was released, I started fc5 but after a day of exploring, I got rdr2 and now it just sits there, my fav game cod ww2 hasnt been touched in 3 months, and that was my daily go to. Thank you for the awesome game!!

  6. Those are just, the WORST. I'm actually somewhat shocked that there haven't been any leaks. As in "Gun Media 'soon'"?

  8. Do not miss that at all. Nor do I miss the openly racist parents yelling in the background, "coaching" their kids.

  9. That is exactly what I do. If someone is being annoying, I mute them. In the case of RDR2, I just go straight into party chat, even if I'm by myself. The silence is golden.

  11. yes, three good hunting areas. I choose based on "the traffic" of players. always better to choose the most isolated area. at the same conditions my favorite area is around tumbleweed for condors and eagles

  12. Escape from getting their as** handed to them in a fair fight. If people wanna start sh*t they better be ready to get hit. But everyone's afraid of pixel death so there's a ton of cowards around.

  13. Don't be surprised if RS remasters RDR along with GTA San Andreas, Liberty City or Vice City sometime in the not too distant future. These games are classics.

  14. As the parent of a teenage boy myself, and a gamer most of my life... I get it. But parents need to be parents and not “friends”. We want our child to be happy, but not helicopter over them to protect them. Folks needs to teach their children what is acceptable and what is not. If your not home... that sh*t is locked down. If you hear them talking sh*t or irate... shut the internet down. Simple.... take responsibility.

  15. Hmm, interesting thought. I would also include that while bounties on said persons are active, they would not have access to any towns stores. This would add a bit of realism into the situation.

  16. This game has so much potential, but R* needs to get a handle on it and fix all these bugs and exploits. Between that and the griefing issues some are having it just takes the fun out of it for many. Not sure what the best option for R* would be for handling the griefing issues, but I can say that the measures they are talking about will not work. Sending lawmen after griefers is just feeding them xp.

  17. Yeah they need to make it like other mmos. Where if you're in "combat" or recently attacked or was attacked, you can't log out. But then again they could just close the application. So I don't know what else could be done to moderate that once anti griefing tactics finally hit. Make it so that if you hit and run you automatically get a fine. I don't know man. Luckily I've only been killed once and only cuz he spawned right next to me, but my friend though man he was killed like 5 times in an hour by 5 different people lol.

  19. Well done. You have done a wise thing. Keep it on and you'll see the story is nice. And now....I'm getting back my gaming desktop soon.....so....to add to PSN is....STEAM incoming ! LoL Ciao

  20. Could be that they are jumping lobbies to avoid retaliation for their griefing.

  21. Agreed! I worked at GameStop over Christmas just as a seasonal employee, and people were coming in with eight and nine year olds buying Red Dead. Even though I explained the language was vulgar, and the online would be even worse with people on mics, they just shrugged their shoulders most of the time and bought the game anyways. I felt like asking them if they wanted a case of beer for the kids to go with it?

  24. Here is my crude map @Vaderspupil The one in Gaptooth Ridge is easy, just right off the pathway. There is a big rock to the left, and often you can kill the cougar while it's resting. If you ride in too fast I find it sometimes doesn't spawn. The one in Cholla Srings I find more difficult; I don't even really bother with it due to time. If you ride in from the north you can catch it resting. The terrain is rugged but there is kind of a pathway you can follow.

  25. I am a firm believer that everyone should get to play how they want without being hassled. At the same time there are so many communities in these consoles that are full of players asking to join or offering assistance. I get wanting to run as lone wolf but as y'all have noticed you will just be a bullet sponge or live in hideing. Get with people ! The end game here should be friendship. Don't be shy and go experience the feeling of riding the trails 7 deep. Safety in numbers my friends. Posse up.

  26. I broke down and bought a PS4 to go with my Xbox. First thing I did was get God of War and I'll get The Show when it comes out. I'm about 10-12% done and this game is AMAZING. Everything I read about it is true, really worth buying the console. I'll get more PS4 exclusives as time goes on.

  27. I rarely hunt or start Stranger Missions in RDO anymore so I usually have nothing to lose when interacting with other players therefore I never feel the need to shoot on sight. I'll usually shoot in self defence if shot at but sometimes I don't even do that. I've stood unarmed waving at another player while they reloaded their Springfield Rifle to kill me after missing my head with their first shot, the RDO community are a bloodthirsty bunch but as soon as you start shooting back and they realise they're not going to get anymore easy kills they'll quickly run away, parley or leave the session. It's pathetic to be honest. The only players that seem to carry on fighting and engage in player vs player combat are tryhards with Slow And Steady and/or Never Without One equipped, if I happen to see another player coming my way with one or both of these Ability Cards equipped I'll always be very cautious or give them a wide birth because players with those Cards are usually scumbags or griefers.

  29. when it comes to auto aim I guess you never know, when Free Aim lobbies come out, I guess it will be whenever they aim their weapon at you. As of now you really cant tell considering someone can instantly headshot you.

  30. I'm a veteran and like shooters. But you'd be surprised at how many people online call me "Mazh," French or middle-eastern sounding. I thought e z p z, I will just capitalize the Maj and people will realize it's major. then I found out Microsoft charges 10 bucks for a gamertag change. Maybe I should have called myself... Maj Tahal in the first place (?).

  32. Ron America became the behemoth it is today because substantively of the two world wars.... Wars which it stepped into at the most opportune moment for itself and it's currency. Whilst I see nothing wrong with that per se, that is the reality... It worked the wars to build the replacement for the tangible European empires it denounced at Versailles in 1919 and created a hegemonic fiscal power base, an intangible empire if you will.... That has not lasted.... Because capitalism turns and the USA along with the UK are now majorly 5th world countries, post industrial and wandering a wasteland of economic misery ..... Both were built on vast export power and control of other countries trade... But that has all withered and now they are left with the patriotic sentiment of power, but not the actual export/fiscal power. It is difficult to explain this highly complex subject, simply ..... For an economy to grow in a capitalist model, one must have immigration of poor people ... They in fact do not take jobs, they create work by their presence... They are willing to work longer and harder for less money than 'a local' because in their view, the money has more value. This creates new work....... It is somewhat strange that America, entirely built on immigration now wants a wall... well, the lower classes and less educated of course. There are many parallels to be drawn between the conditions both social and political of the US and the UK presently with European conditions of the 1920's ... The masses are swallowing the exact same propaganda for the self same reasons..... Economic demise, poverty and mostly fear of the unknown. Whilst businessmen say "Leave me alone so I may prosper' .... The working class/blue collar say "I must be given work" ... When there is no work to be had they look for someone or something to blame ... Immigrants are a very simple target but not the issue in any manner. But people like Trump and the Brexit mob, they pounce on this ignorance and they preach FEAR - GREED - HATE, just like the Fascists or National Socialists or Ultra Nationalists or indeed, Communists .... "Your life is awful because of those people... they are taking what is yours and laughing at you...." Then the masses work out the hate part on their own ... Now the clever part, because they fill in the hate, all of a sudden they think it was all their idea ... as Dr P Joseph Goebbels correctly identified "Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident they are acting on their own free will" Jobs did not leave the USA or UK because of cheap wages per se, they left because the wages of the masses in those countries were dropping in real terms...... In the UK for example, ordinary workers have not seen a rise in their real income since the early 1970's and I suspect the US is the same...... So to sell them goods, one has to make them cheaper... so one sends the work elsewhere ... Today in China they send much work to Myanmar, because China has become too expensive for many products to be made there for it's local economy. The capitalist wheel never stops turning. However it gets worse, much worse very soon ....... The real issue and the change from 20th century Europe is Ai and AGi ...... Ai, Artificial Intelligence and the more problematic, AGi .....Artificial General Intelligence. Ai means we program a robotic machine to do something and it follows those instructions to the letter ... Nothing more or less... If you tell it to paint the car pink, it paints the car pink until told to stop. Or pours coffee or flips burgers ........ Whilst AGI means a computer brain which says ... I think, therefore I am and it learns exponentionally by it;s own powers as a human child does.... but at billions of times the speed In tests so far the issues start when these AGi units talk to another, the fact there is another 'brain' tells them they are in existence, they have something to make comparison with. .... So quite soon while you might tell it paint cars pink, it might decide it prefers blue, or you have too many pink cars. The real upshot is this ... The turn of capitalism has created the loss of millions of manufacturing jobs in the USA & UK ... for them to be replaced by poorly paid service industry work .... But within 30 years there will be no service industry work either, because AGi and Ai will be doing it. Then one has to start to talk about a Universal Basic Income model, as is already happening in the halls of power ... Somehow people, the masses, they have to be sustained when there is simply no work for them...... We are returning to Rome and 'Bread and Circus', or maybe 'Rollerball' ...... But certainly free food and free entertainment. The fundamental issue with that, as my wife a Dr of Psychology will tell you, is the complete loss of hope. Who really buys lottery tickets? Plays bingo and other non-skilled gambling? Poorer people.... Whilst it is often millions and millions to one that they will win.... they still expend a relatively high % of their income on hope. That is what they are buying, hope. So when you have no job, no possibility of a job, when your life choices are very limited and almost totally dictated ... where is the hope? Just as these same people say 'I must be given work', then 'I must be given food and entertainment' they will soon say 'I must be given hope' It is a conundrum yet to be answered ... But the wall? That's just a smoke screen to stop the masses thinking.

  33. Played online for the first time in ages last night. Rode into first town, got off my horse and this clown shot me and my horse. Spawned back in, went to ride off, someone killed me and my horse. Both players were high ranked too and one of them was screaming with laughter into their mics. Not worth the hassle anymore, can't see Rockstar doing anything about these idiots. The game's going on Facebook for sale now.

  34. They're most likely using multi-lingual Boolean modifiers to scan for inappropriate names. If what you're saying is accurate (the limitations of my Espanol are "Donde esta el bano" and "Un cerveza, por favor"), then the double whammy of the "marica" and the "rica" being slang for "sexy" probably got it on the list. I imagine anything with "sex" or a derivation of it will be flagged in English. Which is hilarious for an "M" rated game, but whatever floats their proverbial boat. I had a great name picked out for my horse, but the profanity filter picked it up right away.
