  1. I have acquired (through nefarious means) a copy of the slide from the deck that was used to make this decision:

  2. I called it from the start. Any sort of so called anti-griefing measures R* adds will be used against players who defend themselves. And here we are... As soon as I joined free roam, I was attacked by a large posse. They where all under level 20 and where not that quick or good, so I easily defended myself and laid waste to this pack of low levels. But they kept respawning and coming back at me. So I kept defending myself. 30 mins later.. I have a $35 dollar bounty and all the newbies left the game. And for the rest of the night I have to deal with so called bounty hunters spawning in trying to kill me and take $35 away from me. I'll admit, at 1st it was fun being wanted 'dead or alive'. Friends of mine where cracking up as I sang "Waaanted Dead or Alive'... as bounty hunters kept coming for me. But then it just became annoying. Because they just keep coming for me, over and over again. On top of that.. My blip is red. So now players think im the 'bad guy' which prompts them to shoot 1st. Which also ends with me defending myself and getting more of a bounty. This isn't a Bounty system.. Its a kill tax with debt collectors. And I ain't paying.. Instead I ended up upgrading a few ability cards, spent all my money till I had 1 cent left. Then I let the debt collectors kill me (and they only got 1 cent). Guess that's the new way of playing to avoid this dumb ass new Bounty System (Kill Tax). Just stay broke and live free. Spend all the money ASAP and just use GOLD for purchasing items. .

  3. Especially when you can easily craft each of the items yourself like I can(except for the explosive slugs. Not quite high enough level yet, but soon *evil laugh*). It sucks that players currently can't share items with each other. I remember when online first started, I was playing with one of my friends and she was bitten by a snake. I wanted to give her one of my health cures to get rid if the poison, but couldn't.

  4. Yeah, it's 2 potent snake oil, 2 potent bitters, 2 potent miracle tonic, 2 horse reviver, 2 potent horse stimulant, 8 poison arrows and 10 explosive slugs. Edit: you pick them up from your camp lockbox or a post office.

  5. Yup... what they described would try to do to tag pvp aggressors... versus what they did... is disconnected. They should NOT be charging people who are on the defending side of a fight or listing them for bounty. It just incents no-investment low levels to screw with people for an hour or so, then log out for the night (or the next week, or forever). The game has pretty good mechanics about knowing if you as a player or posse initiated aggression... even if you shoot PAST an enemy and donโ€™t hit them. It has what they need for data fields and frameworks to figure this out. They need to fix this. I am less concerned about people trying to stop missions. (Yes, it does seem much more frequent after the patch). But I consider that part of the game. I may have to posse up to do some of the missions, now. I am much, much more concerned about penalties a player or posse gets for simply repelling aggression.

  6. The single player mode is one of the greatest visual and auditory accomplishments in video game history. After the update the game feels gross. It is a direct dig at consumers pockets that moronic fans with expendable income will gladly pay. I already bought the game I should not have to pay for anything else. Want me to grind to unlock it fine. Having missions that require you to murder 3 people in a day and then with the other hand having it activate bounties on you and then with the other...foot? Lowering carcass and pelt prices almost ensures at some point you will have to spend actual money. I now find this title gross. It is a greedy money grab with nearly 0 new content sans the ridiculous sh*t they added they want you to pay for. I say nay. Im not one of these sad sacks who says they will uninstall the game. However I will not play online until things get right at all. Not one dollar, quarter or single red cent will exit my pockets in Rockstars direction. You should all be ashamed greed is one of the 7 deadly sins. May god have mercy on your decrepit, wasting souls. Toodles Taint Ticklers.

  8. So I'd spent a good 10 minutes 'On the Hunt' mission for the bear in Cumberland Falls. Eventually I killed it and took it's pelt. I then made my way back to my horse and began to stow it. As I loaded the pelt my horse collapsed, my first thought was it didn't like the pelt it was too heavy or something, oh no, how wrong I was. Some weird sicko had taken a sniper shot to the horses head and killed it. I just stood there stunned and shocked. This nasty disturbed person had waited for me to come back and took his shot at the exact moment I was 'stowing'. He had no interest in shooting me, obviously he was relishing the fact I was upset and distressed over this cold blooded killing. I stood next to my dead horse for a few seconds then got on my mic and made it plain he was way out of order, he did't respond. What kind of sick freak does something like that? If your reading this you weirdo you seriously need some psychological help.

  9. I don't think you can consider receiving "garbage" as "gifts". Clearly they're just testing out a delivery mechanism for having players gift Gold and/or Items to one-another.
    1 point
  10. yeah they truly are trying to leech out money and push for gold bar purchases. Its so obvious... They nerfed hunting, prices etc.. added no other means of making money in this update and even nerfed abilities that others have spent tons on (glad i didnt upgrade any because i knew some BS was gonna happen, in their defense though it is a "Beta"), even after not releasing clothing items and a gun they were saying was coming out yesterday lmao an unfinished product/update (aka a "BETA" update) although some features are actually a plus such as the blips, and map proximity where people arent so hostile or paranoid anymore, also there seem to be more NPC's and Wagons etc.. imo, I just hope they add in stealth mechanics where if you are crouched, not moving, out fo sight or even using silent weapons you don' pop up on the radar.

  12. Now im up to $50..lol. Have to admit. Being broke and having a bounty isn't that bad, since now I have nothing to lose. Riding past players who see my red blip and instantly take cover or run away is also pretty funny. Theres bad man coming through folks..

  13. UPDATE: Please see my responses below. The issue seems as though it is resolved. As some may know, the new player blip mechanic was implemented to help mitigate the griefing issue. The idea was that trolls would not have the advantage of knowing or observing other players in other regions and outside of a relatively short range. However, as it turns out, the RDR2 App (which also shows the entire map) was not updated to mimic the range restrictions in this new update. For those who don't or can't use the App, this puts them at a huge disadvantage as anyone else with the App will know where they are but they will now essentially be blind. I don't think I have to tell you how trolls will use this to their advantage. The reason for this thread is 1) to help make people more aware of this issue. 2) to request that those affected or concerned to please submit a trouble ticket and a feedback report through the following link: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892 I submitted a trouble ticket using the Bug/Technical Issue link describing the problem as the new update mechanics not working in the App. I then submitted a response through the Feedback page describing the problem as a gross oversight that the App does not mimic the in-game anti-griefing measure and the obvious potential for exploitation. I will say that I received a canned response from the 1st tier reps when I submitted the trouble ticket. I rated them poorly and used to the link to request a response from a R* representative. We'll see how that goes. Either way, I am sure this will be an issue that many will see as a glaring oversight and wouldn't be surprised to find gaming news outlets reporting on the problem like they did with the missing NPC/wildlife bug. If this is an issue / concern for you, I would encourage and appreciate if you could take the time and submit your feedback / trouble ticket through the link provided. Thanks, Kean

  14. Yeah, thanks for the explanation. It makes sense. The App served as an early warning of sorts but essentially reflected what I was seeing on the radar and map in the game. I'm just glad they sorted it out quickly or whatever the circumstances were. It was only one session but I'm actually digging the multi-colored, proximity blips now. Those who have done enough killing or bad stuff to turn red will appear from the other side of the map. I will say that it does get a little distracting on the radar though since they appear on the edge and you never know how far away they are until you look at the big map or the App. Those who are purple / pinkish also show up sooner but when you observe their behavior, it's easy enough to get a good feel of whether or not they will be hostile. The nice thing now is that I used to have to rely entirely on observation while now I have an indication that they may have already been hostile toward other players. .....and yeah, I take into account that they may have defended themselves but at least I can keep my guard up especially with those who turn dark red.

  16. No, they were griefers "bad guys". It's easy enough to tell once they appeared on the map and you observed them for a bit. They were a group of 3 with two high level players buzzing around Blackwater. No one else as turning color in their vicinity. We were doing a mission delivering to a location at McFarland Ranch and they made a bee line for us. .....we were hunting and trying to run out the clock. As soon as we saw them getting close, we finished the mission and rode off. They continued toward where we were but then stopped and turned around. We disappeared from their sight and they had no clue where we were at that point. I loved it. .....btw, one of their names included a phase about "trolling" people so yeah, that was a no-brainer I would say. We eventually made it into Blackwater when they left the area and found the town crawling with blue dots except one who seems to be engaging NPCs. We went to the stores, did our business and left without incident. Ran into one hostil on a road. Killed my partner so I shotgunned him (dead). ......got a 20 cent bounty for it which I paid at a post office (seems it reduced to 10 cents by then. He never came back after us and we continued our session without incident.

  18. If I had to guess, it's because the server is quicker to update one app than it is multiple connected systems (ps4's in your case) and reflect said changes. I.E. it can't update the server until all the players (all 20-32 of them in free roam) are able to be notified of the player status change at the same time. Since there's only one map to update on the app (as opposed to the 20+ in-game) it makes sense that the app would update first.

  19. My biggest issue with this update is that it basically rolled out a giant SAFE SPACE in place of Free Roam. If you dare to play without your PSN friends this patch effectively has the entire RDR2 online community ghost you. Free Roam is not supposed to be about pure grinding, but that's all that's left if you cannot find the people in your session. There is no possible way to see where people are going crazy in a town and join in or stay away. There is no way to see where posses are doing missions and maybe join up. There is no way to find people hunting or fishing that might like some company. I get it: griefers exist and sometimes you want to be alone, that is no reason to turn Free Roam gameplay into a gigantic ghost town where everyone wanders around grinding like drones instead of enjoying the game with other human beings. People are alone enough in this world without being forced to be alone in Free Roam. lol ..........๐Ÿค

  23. Earlier this morning there were pink blips everywhere, that was it. Just like it was before. Perhaps they hadn't updated the app until later today? I'll look again myself when I get on this evening. Thanks for providing your experience.

  24. I could only see the "bad" red player blips on my (Android) phone app. They show up as white, however. What are now "safe" blue dots are still pink dots, but only visible when also close enough to show up in the HUD radar, or as red blips if they're countering a stranger mission.

  25. Me too, played it this afternoon and it went well.... this evening everything was back to normal online... in fact I think people were killing more people just to get their WANTED status up ..... have finished with the game now, it's just a mess. They are just not listening to what people want.

  28. That is infact the right Word to use in this case.. Cause yeah, it does! - IF you bump, kill, or make ANY mistake during riding, or kill a griefer, you get a Bounty and you need to pay... with MONEY, that is so hard to earn in a game where they cut the reward for the hutning you do! - We wanted R* to make a system against aggresive players.. And what do they do? - They add daily challenges where you need to kill other players.. Proves they imbrace the ape sh*t it will cause.. - Emotes cost, a crazy ass amount of Money... that is lame! - Most of the new clothes you cant even get cause of a "Coming soon".. That includes a Daily challenge where you need the new rifle.. But... You cant buy it yet.. ๐Ÿ™„ So, they have teased an update coming TODAY, that doesent even have what they teased over the last month! Are they trolling their own product? - Do they even care? PS: (Dont wear your bandana in Towns... You get a Bounty...)

  29. I love, love, love my Springfield and never go anywhere without it, using it for hunting, clearing enemy hideouts and self defense from both NPC ambushes and griefers. Because of it I find repeaters to be obsolete. I have duel wielded Schofields for when I feel like being more of a gunslinger. I do have a pump action shotgun but I hardly ever use it, only when I know I'm going to be encountering lots of cqc.

  30. SIGHTING-IN: First, using your binoculars or gunsite determine if the target has one two or three stars. TAKING THE SHOT: For an alligator you need a powerful rifle and you need to shoot the 3 star alligator in the eye or between the eyes. For a 3-star rabbit, and other small critters and pelicans Etc, you're going to need a varmint rifle. You might need a scope but a Lancaster repeater can easily take down an alligator without special ammo. If you find a cluster of animals, deer or bison for example, get your weapons and get off your horse, crouch and try to conceal yourself. If your horse is following you it will alert the animals and they will run off.

  31. Thank you to everyone for the advice. I too rarely use handguns but just thought I should upgrade so I am covered for any situation. I have watched on YouTube people get knocked of their horse to get back up & destroy the player as they rush in in a hail of bullets or the power of the sawed off. I use the Lancaster (fully upgraded) with special ammo, Pump Action (fully upgraded) regular ammo. I also have Bolt Action (fully upgraded) special ammo. I am currently level 43 & manage to rise one or two levels per day. Any more advice regards long arm weapons / ammo / handguns / ability cards is greatly appreciated as Iโ€™m not the best shot. Damage & destruction asap is best play style for me.

  32. Lol so last night a friend and I were at camp getting ready to run stranger missions and an other player approached our camp and waved so we obliged and both waved back. This other player then started shooting at us from the edge of our camp ,we tried to ignore it as we were in camp. So I lowered the flag and killed him. Hoping he would go away, he did not... We then left and went on our mission. This other player followed us and kept trying to kill us, after repeatedly killing him I checked to see what level he was. He was a level 5. A level freaking 5! Lol Even though they were the aggressor I felt bad we had to run away from this level 5 so he could live. Lol Is this a form of reverse griefing? Lol had to share as we were laughing our butts off about it last night. what possesses these players, is it ego or just plain stupidity?

  33. Let's try to look at this from a different perspective. The game did not come with a guide on how to play it...and I'm glad for that. I'm sure there are a lot of people who hop on and think everyone they meet is a foe. That this game is a shooter. I bet you the term 'griefer', or even the concept, would be pretty foreign to them. For many (not all), I would think they'd regard what the OP has described as simply playing the game...trying to get better...giving it the old college try...never giving up. They don't really get it yet...especially being a lower level. Not everyone has gone on the internet in hopes of learning how to be a better RDO member. Obviously, there are many who also grief for sport. Those are usually much higher levels, though.

  36. It does affect me. I can't aim them when they have the card active and i don't know when they will drop out of it and aim me.
    1 point
  37. Guess the best solution would be to have the ability have a delay of when they can go back to auto aiming. Should go to rosckstars feedback page and suggest it. As I mentioned if you used free aim you would never have an issue with any slippery bastard wielder as it wont affect you what so ever. Of course auto aimers would have an advantage but overall it enhances the experience and gives you some pride in killing people rather than the aim, flick up and shoot method oh and add in the .22 caliber varmint rifle to that.
    1 point
  38. Sorry but i won't do such things because those Slippery Bastard players will not stop auto aiming me. They will drop out of Dead Eye for a fraction of a few seconds, aim me, shoot and jump back to Slippery Bastard. That's actually the point i don't like about this card the most.
    1 point
  39. Yes, switch to Free Aim in the settings, stop relying on a horrible aim bot and you won't ever have an issue with it. The only nonsense from Rockstar is that there aren't any free aim lobbies.
    1 point
  40. Hey bud , we have a couple in our posse that run that card and they say it depletes the dead eye really fast. So they would have to find cover to take a potion or eat the big game meat treated with thyme. There is your opening. Using cover untill they try to refill seems to work. I myself run with never without one and peak condition. Also I like to fight from horseback so the horseman card is extra damage. I don't have too much trouble with this slippery card because our posse always moves to outflank these cats. When surrounded they can't handle the load of bullets flying at them. Hope this helps.
