Hah ! told You so ! Lets dumb the game down every week ! Yaaaay !!!! i just hit 89 yesterday. And was looking forward to my reward - explosive ammo. I started playing early feb and played solo grinding cash for ability cards , weapons, and now recipes for ammo and stuff. I never used any exploit and havent met anyone that did. I tried to posse up early in the game but i noticed i xp and gain cash faster solo tbh. Im more of a lone wolf anyway like to earn stuff by myself. This update is a slap in the face for me. There needs to be something to grind for, to be happy to achieve. I really hate the fact that R* is giving away stuff that ppl should earn to have. You suck at this game? You are a sore looser and cant get past lvl 50, cant grind enough cash ? Then You will be running around with a normal lancaster getting You ass handed to You by better players, taking explosive rounds to the head. That is the way it should be. What is the next move ? Maybe give away ability cards for free ?! just bcoz the noobs cant get them and cry on forums and ingame how they struggle. I grinded over 15 k dollars for the cards i have and it gives me advantage bcoz i worked for it. And about the so called "griefers". I play everyday and i havent had problems whatsoever with a band of high lvls chasing me around and killing me. Maybe once or twice when i was under lvl 15 but it was not a problem for me. I handled it. The ones that shoot me in the head when im afking or skinning an animal are nubs lvl 5-20 that dont realize who they r messing with. Funny how they cry or run away after i have my revenge on them. Please R* DO NOT DUMB DOWN THE GAME FURTHER ! PLEASE !

This is rockstar trying to get people to spend all of their hard earned cash and gold... then, once they drop the spring update, with all of it's nice, new shiny toys, people will be broke... rockstar hoping people will resort to having to buy gold bars or get people playing and grinding again to earn the cash required... reeeeeeks of desperation myself, I would be interested if the items were half price... i'll just keep grinding levels and cash and buy them as they unlock naturally... not sucking me in rockstar

Wait ..what in the blue hell are you talking about? Joking..kinda. What players are you talking to? Tons of players got to high levels the legit way. I am one of them. Don't make blanket untrue statements. Seems very judgmental and kinda foolish. Tons of peoples level up in this game without being a lame ass. You must play with people like that. I'm sorry. And you can grind solo or in a posse. Not very hard. If you hate Free Roam, just grind Showdown. Solo players can still level up as fast as posses. Not that hard. I only run with a posse when I want to, not because I have to. I actually prefer running missions solo at times. Sometimes I just need quite.

I have a huge group of griefers that stream snipe a friend of mine who streams at least 3x a week. you may be familiar with them. They go by **... or **********. i have a FULL list on 72 names. they are insane. threatening to break your modem and such "we have a guy who specializes in vpns" like... these folks are the scum of Xbox. ive never reached out for help like this on ANY online game ever. do not feel bad attacking any one of these people. if you dont believe me they are griefers, do your research. they do NOT lay low. that is how i found this. happy hunting. me and my friends play in peace, we never shoot first. but as i said, this club or whatever you want to call it, jumps us at least 3x a week with explosive rounds with at least 5-14 members at a time.

I understand your frustration. However, there is nothing we can do it about it here. What you need to do is contact R* directly. My suggestion is to first use the in-game reporting feature whenever one of these scenarios occur. Second, while I don't know how the XB1 blocking feature works (if it even does), I would suggest using it if possible. On PS4 I can block people so they can see anything about me, they can't send messages, follow me, etc. There is even some mixed information about it even working in RDO to not pair players with those they blocked. I would also look into contacting R* Support (https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.96152732.1023094034.1554996796-1719606522.1525287356). Let them know your situation and if you are reporting them in-game, let them know that is not working. If you are not happy with the response of the first tier rep(s), there is an option to have your case escalated. Contact MS..... Again, I don;t know how this works with your platform but you can also contact MS regarding your issue asking for their assistance in trying to block these players from your sessions, etc. I'm not claiming to have the answers to your problem nor am I suggesting if your follow the above advice that your will get a satisfactory result. .....but I will tell you that naming & shaming here will not get you anywhere. While we welcome you to stay and enjoy the site, contribute, etc., we do have rules. ....and among those rules, spamming and shaming are not allowed. Foretelling the future most of the time is simply paying attention to the present. All games available on various online services are a commercial enterprise. Sure there are the hard core geeks that are passionate about the product on their payroll but ultimately its a money thing. No dollars, no product. Human history, let alone corporate history, is littered with the remains of people/companies who fly too close to the sun, pride before the fall kinda thing. Rockstar has a track record courtesy of GTA V online of being able to turn around a buggy, glitching game to make money. The question is, do they have the money and the will to solve the problems with the Beta online? In a previous post I mentioned that less than 10% on people playing the Online Beta have reached rank 50, that was a mistake. Less than 1% of people playing the online Beta have reached level 50 and less than 10% of players have reached level 10. Some players will delete their characters numerous times and start a new profile in an attempt to stockpile cash and clothes, you don't lose them if you start over. Beta or not a beta, those figures are what is happening in the present.

Calling like you see it? Lol...Ok. Why do you act like you have it so hard because you are solo? Just curious. I have been there too. We all have. Not that big of a deal. I didn't start running in a posse until I was 50s-60s. And that wasn't because I was like "poor low level me" , I was asked by a friend to join their RDR Group. But I would have been fine solo if I wanted to be. Game isn't hard or overwhelming. Lot's of people grind solo daily with minimum issues.

Just made rank 82 so right in the neighbourhood for the pamphlets I was really looking forward to getting and now anyone at rank 60 can get them? Seriously R*? Way to piss off the most loyal portion of your player-base. Why not just introduce the Oppressor to Red Dead already and be done with it so I know not to waste any more of my time?

I really.... really.... hope so. I felt so accomplished getting to the rank to use that. Now some rank 60 scrub will have them. Low ranks gonna become even more cocky and start sh*t.

Current level 122 I'm micd up and have a horse , some bullets, and Lake fishing lure.. I don't mind semi-role playing and battles with other clans..

No problem. Naming & shaming is a common rule on many forums I've found. They don't allow it for several reasons and on a personal level, I'd probably suggest not calling people out like that as it may make your situation even worse. btw, if they ever did send threatening messages especially via the XB1 system and you still have it, report it. If MS is anything like Sony in that regard, they dont take harassment like that lightly. ....so with that being said, let's all keep the discussion about ways to help the OP avoid these players, blocking recommendations, reporting tips ,etc.

Meh.. To each their own. I work long days. I smoke extremely good high quality weed. So when I boot up and open world action game, I don't got time for that leveling sh*t. To me its just.. Some of us like having several outfits. I actually change my outfit depending on what region I'm in (or if it's night/day), color wise, to blend in. Or just for the fun of it. Also yeah I hope they fix the wardrobe. They can't be giving us sexy clothes and not allowing us to store more outfits mange.

Great! I grind for weeks to level up enough to get express explosive pamphlet, now Rockstar drops the requirement to lvl 60. What a joke. Thanks again Rockstar. Grinded for weeks for the achievements, and for what? Is Rockstar intentionally trying to get rid of loyal fans? Seems like it. Done with this game.

I wash my horse with water all the time. It works, I can see the blood from pelts come right off. I've done it both on SP and online. The water has to be fairly deep though. I'd say at least up to the horse's belly. Since baths aren't available online, I'll go for a swim to clean my character off. A heavy rain will also clean you and your horse.

Will be hitting it hard this weekend trying to get to lvl 60. My wife got pummeled by a lvl 60 with the explosive ammo last night. We ganged up on him and he didn't know what hit him. He finally left the server. I guess it doesn't matter if you have better ammo if you don't aim fast enough to take out 2. AFFA (Angels Forever, Forever Angels)

Your cores drain 25% faster but i personally want that 7.5% dmg reduction so imo its better to be fat. My caracter always looks skinny probably because i chose trained/fit as bodytype so i dont have an issue

Nice!! Ive been running with a Springfield for its damage, then a pump shotgun, then either two volcanics, two sawed off's or one of each. I like how you run the repeater instead, thats pretty cool, I just feel naked without a shotgun for close range and having only two shells gives me a little anxiety, But Im sure I could live without the pump shotty since I have sawed off's I'm going to try this, might just take some getting used to.

Yea bud I am truly in awww of rdr2I and can only keep hope alive that the big update is close. Such a beautiful game and honestly think it will have a long life ! The short lived part was aimed at my high hopes. I'm down to medium hopes now. Lol still playing it though bud.

This is new to me but I wouldn't be surprised if this was an exploit they were using. In either case, it appears you still were able to kill them. Me personally, I run with a Bolt Action for long ranges, a Lancaster for mid ranges, a Schofield for mid-short ranges, and a Sawed Off in my off hand holster just in case. Works like a charm. Haven't had any major problems so far. Also, by getting different ammo types, if I run out of rifle ammo I can switch to the Lancaster in a pinch. I use the bolt cause it's fairly cheap and I see no reason to upgrade to a different gun at the moment.

I'm conflicted over this Initially I had the same thought about: "Oh awesome *sarcasm*. Now even more people will have access sooner to high powered stuff to grief with rather than use in PvP." Then I thought about those who've played intently all this time to naturally level up to these rewards and how absolutely sh***y it must feel to see everyone else get them easily. Now I'm only level 36. It would be nothing to sit here all evening grinding out Plunder to hit rank 40 for those horses. Rank 60 could be achieved if I played every night this week. I won't deny the temptation is there. Granted I've felt less inclined to play these last few weeks. I honestly feel this is a smart-but-di*k move by Rockstar who've noticed the playerbase is drifting to other games. This is them dangling the carrot, but at what cost? Simple. Gold purchases. There's no way you can play normally to rank up and earn enough cash to collectively buy these items, be it horses, stalls, saddles, and pamphlets. The temptation has just jumped to throw in $20 or so to get some gold bars. And to boot, you're feeling a little tug to jump back online to take this "great opportunity" up. (at least I'm speaking for myself, but I refuse to buy gold) I also feel like I'd rather wait for the satisfaction of achieving these at their normal rank requirements.

Solution Found and thank everyone for your help. For future reference: Rockstar gave a gift awhile ago of 10 explosive slugs and I never used them so my recipe would not come up. I found this by accident. Knowing I had never made them before it threw me off. I shot a couple of rounds and I could then craft them. Again thanks.

Yeah it's kinda of a toss up between explosive Express and explosive slugs in my book. Both are RDO$ cash grabs but Anti griefers primary use. I don't use them PVP, save them for times of need. Explosive Express seems best for 1 shot/1 kill medium/long distance shots, whereas I kinda like explosive slugs for up close fighting. I kinda stink at free aim/slippery bastard so shotgun/explosive slug is my go to in free aim situations/close up fighting griefers where I am outnumbered Dynamite arrows probably best damage but I kinda of always miss the target, especially if it's moving. Could add that some of the tier 3 passive probably best things you can buy but still don't think they all stack or work right sometimes, plus the cost I haven't mastered the free aim stuff yet and I don't know just always preferred a shotgun.

Lack of Content. People are just bored as hell with the game, and their dripfed content and PvP mode updates aren't helping anything in Free Roam which should be their main focus. There are a million PvP games with the same game modes. There are few to non with the Free Roam aspect. People have already hunted to the point of extinction, same with fishing. Stranger missions are being done in people's sleep considering they played the hell out of them. As long as there isn't anything noteworthy being released in Free Roam you will see this increase at a fast rate.
