RED DEAD ONLINE: MOONSHINERS NOW AVAILABLE Peddle white lightning as a black-market bootlegger in Moonshiners, the latest Frontier Pursuit available now in Red Dead Online. Team up with an infamous distiller to start your own Moonshining business and run it out of the new Shack property. Moonshining takes your Trader skills to the next level and gives you your first business established outside of camp. Not only will you need to source ingredients and produce the goods, savvy Moonshiners will learn the demands of the market and time their shipments to align with the tastes of buyers. With that in mind, Moonshining requires you to have cut your teeth as a Trader, having attained either at least Rank 5 or completed one Trader Sell Mission. Once that’s been achieved, Cripps will get you connected with Maggie Fike at Emerald Ranch, an old hand in the bootlegging business that will help you get your fledging operation rolling. To run a proper shine trade – not some backwoods Lemoyne Raiders operation – you’ll need a property. Throw in with Maggie to purchase one of five Moonshining Shacks from which you’ll conduct your business. Once you’ve sourced your cook and equipment, Maggie will maintain the homestead’s front upstairs while the art of distillation takes place downstairs. The basement has room for optional expansions including a Bar, space for a band and a dancefloor, with additional upgrades for your moonshining equipment. Your mercantile journey will also offer a new series of Story Missions to take on solo or with your Posse, as Maggie Fike helps you build your business and gets a little revenge of her own along the way. Each mission earns you benefits to propel your business forward, as you eliminate rivals, learn new recipes and establish a steady clientele. Expand your burgeoning enterprise by developing different blends and distributing across the five states. You can also serve patrons directly while entertaining friends by expanding with your very own bar. Like all Specialist Roles, the Moonshiner features its own unique progression path that unlocks bespoke apparel and accessories, equipment upgrades to improve the business, new weapons like the Flammable Moonshine Jug, and a unique ornamental design for the Sawed-Off Shotgun, new Horse Breeds and more. The Outlaw Pass returns with an expanded 100 ranks of fresh rewards featuring all-new clothing and accessories, Role XP boosts during the Club Membership period and Gold gifts up to 40 Gold Bars. You’ll also receive a variety of Offers and Rewards, a new feature in Red Dead Online detailed further below. In addition, the free Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Club Membership entitles you to select perks as you accumulate XP up until March 10th, 2020. All Red Dead Online players are automatically enrolled in the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Club just by playing. For more details on The Outlaw Pass No. 2 and the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Club, visit the official site. Offers and Rewards is a new feature in Red Dead Online that can be found from the Benefits page in the Pause Menu. The Offers and Rewards page will display your collection of gifts, discounts, and promotions that can be applied to a range of goods. Rewards include gifts like Gold Bars, Refills on Trader and Moonshiner Business supplies, clothing items and accessories, and other complimentary gifts, while Offers include discounts on select items. Be sure to visit the Benefits page often to see the latest Offers, Rewards and ongoing promotions in Red Dead Online week to week. Today’s update to Red Dead Online also features new clothing including Bandoliers and Corsets (with more items due to arrive in the coming weeks), a powerful new sidearm in the Navy Revolver, and more in addition to gameplay improvements and enhancements as we continue to build on and refine the game world. Among many other improvement, today’s update adds: The ability to quick-swap weapons in the heat of battle – simply assign a “Quick Select” firearm within the Weapon Wheel, then tap L1/LB/Tab during gameplay to quickly switch between this and your currently-equipped weapon (you can still holster your weapon with a double tap of L1/LB/Tab or by selecting Unarmed in the Weapon Wheel) Ability Card rebalancing on certain cards, and limits on Tonic use to ensure a level playing field for all players Accessibility improvements for fishing, allowing players to reel in a catch by holding a button rather than circling the analogue stick Increased stability for Horses, making your steed slightly less likely to fall down after a collision and quicker to get back up after a fall or revival In addition, we’ve added the ability to spawn directly at your Camp and made improvements to help mitigate the issue players have been experiencing with setting up their camps – and we will continue to work on ways to address these problems. As always, your direct feedback on Red Dead Online is integral to our ongoing work to make it all that it can be – please visit our feedback page to let us know your thoughts. And be sure to check out a range of discounts including 5 Gold Bars off the Butcher’s Table, Rewards like a free Mash Refill for Moonshiners and a free Resupply for Traders, and bonuses like RDO$200 for each Role you start. Visit the Social Club Events page for a full rundown of current bonuses and discounts. If you’re a Twitch Prime member who has already linked their Social Club account to Twitch Prime and claimed your benefits, you’ll get a free Polished Copper Still Upgrade for your Moonshine business, which will help you brew stronger batches and also help improve your Bar. You’ll also get the Collector’s Bag for free, if you have yet to pursue the path of a Collector – finding and trading valuable treasure to Madam Nazar. Red Dead Online players who become Twitch Prime subscribers on or after December 13th will be able to purchase both of these for free within 72 hours of becoming Twitch Prime subscribers. Moonshiners is available now in Red Dead Online for PS4, Xbox One and PC – and coming to Google Stadia later this month.4 points

Thanks @Kean_1 gonna have my eyes glued to this post for the patch notes. All I really want to hear is they patched this parlay grieve glitch. I know how they do it and I won't post it here to encourage others to do it. Let me give y'all a heads up on how to avoid it , as soon as you beat them and they parlay , take your win and leave the server. You will not survive if they come back in this glitch trust me. Anyways let's enjoy some shine shall we ? Cheers !!4 points

There might be additional costs later, I'm not far into it yet, but don't think so. ***minor spoilers about new Moonshine role*** I think there were 6 shack locations to choose from. I picked the one near Manzanita Post, there was also Bayou, Heartlands, Hennigan, Grizzlies... I think I'm forgetting one. It said you can move locations later, but not sure what, if anything, that costs. It's an instanced thing, it seems. (Hold E - on PC - at the door to get inside, kinda thing.) Then some easy missions to set up the operation. Different recipies for different flavor moonshine. Then it looks sorta similar to the trader thing, takes some time to cook, then deliver it. (At least I assume, I cooked one batch, but haven't delivered it yet, about to go do that.)3 points

If the train suddenly stops in a tunnel, watch out... that used to be one of Arthur’s train robbing tricks (at least while I was watching him). I too will be watching for the fixes... I’m sure though, that some issues will be fix and other issues will show up...3 points

Im on a train back home and cant w8 to start downloading the update. Can some1 tell me howbig it is? I have 6 more hours on the train and hope to download today and play a bit. I too hope they fixed the parlay glitch and more, bcoz there are still some nasty glitches in game.3 points

Maybe I’ll see you at ‘The Liquor Shack’ when I get it up and running. I’ll most definitely be running off some batches and getting ready for the grand opening of the foot stompingest, fist fightingest underground hooch den in the west. Come in sober, leave 10 out of 10 drunk. As a courtesy, all guests unable to ride on their own will be hogtied, placed on their horse and the beast will be sent off to your home...3 points

@HuDawg might be happy... Ability Card rebalancing on certain cards, and limits on Tonic use to ensure a level playing field for all players and I recall @Moosh89 asking for this... Accessibility improvements for fishing, allowing players to reel in a catch by holding a button rather than circling the analogue stick maybe they do listen to us?2 points

I applaud your dedication to making the game fun bud. Grieve battles are what keeps me playing. The ones that fight fair that is. Hope they patch this parlay glitch. Cheaters never win and to even consider yourself a winner when using those exploits just shows how simple minded those folks are. Anyways good for you @HuDawg give em hell bud !2 points
-
Well I really don't care about the griefers so much. I don't think I've ever complained about them, infact I usually defend griefers. Hell, theres been few times I've almost went full heal and turned griefer. Figure the best way to get people to jump on R* support and request game changes is to 'grief' everyone in the most evil way possible. I haven't done that yet.. But I can see the day coming. Anyways.. Todays the day. So.. here we gOooOo!2 points

New update is out. Downloading it right now.2 points

Thanks everyone for helping. I decided to purchase the Red Dead Redemption 2 Special Edition on the Steam store and it is currently downloading. I'm hoping that everything has been patched to atleast be playable. If I do encounter any issues, I'll post them on the forums here to ask for help. I'm hoping for the best.2 points

A few good things.. Slippery Bastard now works against PIB. No more tonic chugging during dead eye or after getting shot. Balances out the BS slightly. R* not adding photo mode and story mode content/guns to Xbox is complete bullsh*t. Its on PC, so its not 'exclusive content'. It makes no sense.1 point

Improvements to networking have been made that will reduce the frequency of problems with ambient wildlife populations in large Red Dead Online sessions1 point

The game is on sale for $47.99 on Steam if anyone hasn't gotten it yet. The special editions are also 25% off. Not sure when this sale started.1 point

I am curious to see if all your issues have been fixed. What were the main ones you were having issues with?1 point
-
I'm enjoying the update so far. The Outlaw Pass 2 also REALLY looks nice, there's quite a bit of stuff I like. (I'm trying not to spoil anything, lol.)1 point
-
Just like businesses, apartments and other properties in GTAO it seems. No surprise there.1 point
-
i saw that and i'm loving it atm it is solving my problem. and if it disappears again i believe that i'll might be able to go to the menu and just launch in the camp -- probably losing the pelts but still better than yesterday1 point

K, cheers, and yeah, totally understand about mission details. (Couldn't immediately figure out the spoiler tags anyway, heh, but I added a warning at the beginning just in case.)1 point
-
No worries. There's nothing there in your post really that is a big spoiler. I'm just letting folks know about the other little details regarding missions and the new role that you think some folks might consider a spoiler. For instance, I'd rather play a mission myself and figure it out than have someone make a post detailing how to shortcut it.1 point

Hyped to get stuck into this later. For those who were asking, it was 7.45Gb on the Xbox One X.1 point
-
....doubt that. I never doubted that they did and that is evident in many of the updates they have made since the beta. Obviously, there will still be some that will never see the features they would like in the game or be satisfied with some / most / all of what they add or change, but that doesn't mean they are not listening. I'll wager some features are simply more requested than others or are a focus for other reasons due to popularity, design, balance, vision / goals, etc.1 point
-
That is cheap. I was thinking the property will be 200gb or more. Oh well Time to make 1000 gb then.1 point
-
40 gold for the moonshine role? 40 gold for outlaw pass? Or are they combined or something?1 point
-
I was thinking the same. I currently use dual Schoefields. 40 GB but you can make all that back just like the last one.1 point
-
Hahah nice one with the train! About the issues with the New update i hope that overall number Will decrease tho. NOT with my internet connection. I live on the countryside and all i can have is 10Mb/sec so guess ill play tomorrow. Still happy tho.1 point

Looked at the stats for the Navy Revolver and i've decided to pick one up to augment a my Schofield and depending on how it does it might get replaced. Better damage and accuracy fits my playstyle. Also, How many GB's is the Moonshiner role?1 point

@Kean_1. They just posted it. https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/61282/Red-Dead-Online-Moonshiners-Now-Available Yeah they fixed the camp issue! **** Ok I take it back...now I have a camp but it's blinking continually between 2 different close locations, so I have a general idea of where it is And I lost my dual pistols. Edit 2... I'm taking to myself but I fast traveled to camp and it's not at either of the blinking locations, not even close.1 point

Yes, like @HuDawg mentioned, lagging can produce some pretty weird effects... I know I’ve seen various weird effects similar to this due to weirdly synced up connections. It’s usually most noticeable in PVP (You come around the corner and think you’re shooting someone dead, only to suddenly be laying on the ground ten feet back and bleeding out while the other guy is charging out guns blazing)...1 point

well... i don't own the game on steam, but i completely understand the mixed reviews. i really love the game and i'd love to be able to play it. unfortunately it crashes more in a few hours than any game i played over years. i've been playing a lot of ESO since release, about 5 years now, and i can tell you that RDR2 crashes more in one day than ESO in one year playing every day. also... many things don't work and trader is almost impossible to play. the game is great, i dreamed for long time to get this on pc, yes, but it's insanely bugged. it's probably the most bugged game i ever played. i'm only dealing with all the RDR2 mess because i love the theme and the spirit of the game. in the current state it's hard to review the game very positively. the intention of the game it is a 10/10 but what we get, it's about 6/10.1 point
-
I know what this is.. And its two things. 1.) He's using the tank build, with gold cores and tonics. As you know, allows him to take massive amounts of damage. 2.) The connection between you and him is weak and is causing syncing issues. (This can happen in all R* online games) So this means that you're both kind of living in your own time line. Where you both see different things happening on your screen.s You might be blasting him, while hes falling down. On his screen, you're not shooting and hes drinking tonics. So the tank build, with the gold cores and tonics combined with the syncing issues. Means to you, it seems like hes taking a massive amount of damage.1 point

I know this isn't current as it is no longer on the air, but I'm really liking the Deadwood series.1 point

I don't know what got me first... Anticipating that someone was going to be on fire or you guys laughing over it. I damn near spit out my drink. Thanks for sharing this. I needed a laugh!1 point

Thanks for the reply. Yes, Stadia is having some launch issues although for many it is working very well. My issue with it is that it doesnt offer what I was hoping it might. I was oping to hear they were using a version of the game that would be 4k/60 native similar to the X1X but with the same or even better graphics settings, so that you would be able to have the best image quality in native 4k and have it at 60 fps as opposed to 30 fps on X1X. the fact is the game is being played at 1080 up-scaled to 4k and doesnt look as good as the X1X. Since the pc launch I was looking for a way to experience the game @ 4k/60fps with equal or higher settings that I get now. So looking ahead short of building a very powerful and expensive gaming rig, my only other option is to wait for the next gen consoles to come out and see if they can run the game at 4k/60 with equal or better settings. My game looks amazing as does everyones, I play it on a 70" 4k screen no hdr, my next tv will be a 65 - 77" 4k hdr with bandwidth to handle 4k/60 and above, potentially 120 hz or fps when that arrives. But I was looking to see if I could improve on it, or if I could run it at 60 fps maybe the slow downs in St Denis, Valentine, and a few other spots would be reduced to levels that wouldnt be so apparent, I really hate it when it bogs down to under 30 fps. I dont know for sure what it drops too but it seems to drop into the teens at times in those areas. The Stadia looks great for some, if you are on the go, like to play 1080 games, have multiple devices to play on, and dont have a current gen console or do but arent 100% happy with it, it can be great, I have seen many people enjoying it, its just not what I was looking for sadly, I had very high hopes.1 point

I like it well enough, but more as an occasional inbetween thing. I like the bulk of my playing time to be a bit more chill, ride around at a casual pace, do some hunting and stuff, with occasional moments of action here and there. The game already provides those moments in various forms though, so the bounty hunting is just one more of those options for me. I did do the Day of Reckoning event a few times the last few days, and that's a fun little romp as well.1 point
