  1. Not the same but still funny.  I was riding online and a bear spawned just off to side of the road.  So I spurred my horse and we ran passed it.  Soon as we got clear and I thought we was safe, my horse bucks me off and the bear just runs over and kills me.

I too have spawned right next to predators only to die before I can fully get spawned in to defend myself.

I'm on PS4. GT is the same as my username here, Vaderspupil. I believe you're Xbox aren't  you?

Yes, I am on Xbox.  So I guess you are safe.  :)

I usually try to send a message to ask if a person needs or wants help before I just join.   Some players get locked into something and don't want others from the outside.  I have one friend on my list, that he plays almost all games with a preferred group, and if you just join, either he or their leader will kick you and none will say a word.  I try to respect that.

Thanks Yoda. Didn't they bring in private lobbies on GTAO though? I know they have in RDRO. It would seem strange to me that they won't eventually in RDR2O. I remember enjoying giving griefers the middle finger in a lobby setting where they couldn't shoot you on GTAO. Something like that with RDR2 would be ok. I'm willing to bide my time until they bring this in and if they don't I can live with it, I didn't buy the game for the online element, so can take it or leave it.

GTA did get private lobbies, but there was some jobs you just couldn't do unless it was public servers.  Players learned away around that that.  Passive mode was a joke, cause some players would wait for you to drive or fly by and they switch from passive to public and poof! they shoot you in the back then switch back.

When my other posse members aren't on I prefer to lone wolf it. I'll initiate party chat so I don't have to listen to the crap spewing out if the mouths of the other players and just go on my merry way hunting and fishing. Griefers don't intimidate me. Even if I'm outnumbered, I'll fight back and I'll hold my own. I hate it when I receive posse invites from randoms I don't know.

Good news there.  I don't know what playform you are on and I don't know your GT.

  5. PS4, the Arabian was part of the DLC, I have been told.  For Xbox and PS4 in the early part of the Beta if you accrued enough gold, you could shortcut and buy several things early with gold.  Then they released the Gold Store and after that update, some of the thing you used to be able to get now you have match the level and buy it with gold and or gold.  I was after the the Arabian myself didn't get enough till after that update and I couldn't do it anymore.

It’s really a personal opinion, but if someone takes a potshot at you, the first kill is reasonable. If they continue to attack you, then defending yourself is expected. Now if you kill them, they respawn, and try to leave you alone and you chase them down and continuously kill them until they leave the server - then yeah I would call that griefing.

And you record their GT and follow them to a different server and haunt them their non-stop, might be griefing.

  7. Griefing really depends on ones point of view.  You saying to don't mind it.  Then it isn't a problem.  Now the player that logs in and they kill him while he it waiting to load in and they do that 10 times and it takes the player 30 mins to get in to actually play or worse yet quits.  Well that is an issue.   Or the player that is fishing, hunting, treasure hunting ,or some other PvE type game mode that has their back to you.  You shoot them cause you are bored and ruin 2 to 3 hours have playtime for them for your own amusement.  Why yes that is an issue.  Griefers don't care about you or your fun as long as they are amused at your expense .  It is an issue and is bullying, which is an issue.

  8. Not yet.  Games like Fortnite are being looked at.  Last I heard there was going to be like 100 games that was looking to crossplay on.  Now Xbox and PC have been doing some crossplay for like co-op games like GoW4.

  9. Signed in several times this weekend and it was close to impossible to find anyone to run with.  Several posses already on and most of them doing their thing and ignored communication when I asked if  they had room.  Now some of them started griefing soon as I made contact.  Xbox club, even though players requesting help, they never responded.  To top it off seems like there is less and less people playing it right now.  Does anyone know the numbers?

No way of knowing. Some devs get games done and out of beta in a few days or weeks, others take months... Some take years.

Given that this is Rockstar, I can't see it taking any longer than 4 months total time.

Exactly, look at Ubisoft and The Division, after 3 years they are finally releasing TD2 in the spring.  It only took them 3 years of TD being a beta for them to "fix" their issues.

It would be ruined because the option to shoot people in the back  while they are fishing, hunting and exploring wouldn't be there. Everyone knows it's no fun to shoot people who are prepared for a fight and  looking to do the same thing to you....lol

Joking or not, there really are players out there that can't PvP.  If they can't shoot a player in the back and run off, then they can't play.  They are also the types that start something in freeroam, soon as you seem able to defend yourself.  They go and get as many of their friends as they can.  You find yourself face numbers that you just can't beat and then they get offended when you call them out on that.

MP in RDR, I didn't always win, but if someone griefed me.  I would keep going after them till they would get exhausted of seeing me come at them non-stop.  I realized to a point that was no better then what they was doing and started joining forums asking why players did what they did and grief others.  I always got excuses, but usually it came down to it being my fault for them being creeps and they felt they was doing me a favor.  Where apparently, I was just being mean.  Which I never understood.

We can keep discussing this - I just gave a combination of factors that would make me stop playing - I have grinded around 30k in game USD and am level 101 after about a week of actual gametime. I am at a point that the grind is just to get additional pamphlets/guns/horses for fun of testing these, now I focus more on building up some USD for future content. After the grind (which is fun for me personally) I cannot see me doing it again at some sort of official release in the future with "maybe" one content update added at that point. The gold bars potentially lost wouldn't bother me but having to do the grind with the same things over and over again that I have been doing since RDO release most likely would.

At this point I still go online daily, mainly because Battlefield V is in a messy state as well and no other titles I like are out there. I like Red Dead, simply put. I am however getting bored quicker. The main reason I stick around is that I am hoping for an actual common goal/objective to focus on which is posse related. Build your HQ op with common goals and grind/work for it. A digital sense of achieving something with a group of dedicated players. I truly hope this will get added and I am patient enough to wait for this a bit longer, but as stated by another poster here when new AAA titles are hitting most likely in March and RDO hasn't taken the next steps by then, I can see a massive playerdrop happening. A character reset at this point and state of the game is very unlikely, I can only see it happen when and if people keep Money and goldbars acquired and a big pile of content is added to the game. If not I see a lot of people quitting. In all fairness most of the people on forums for particular games are more dedicated in remaining loyal compared to the masses.

I understand where you are coming from, but as I said before.  Being a beta, you should have known there was a chance at a reset.  What if you get some reward for making it that far?  Get to keep your money and your gold.  All you had to do was grind again, cause that is all you would being doing anyway, right?  We don't know what a reset would be.  It could be a complete reset and refund of spent gold.  Could be partial reset, where your levels get wiped but keep what you already have.  Very possible their will be no reset.  Either way, those who are still playing will still be grinding, regardless.

there's a bounty cap in each chapter.  chapter 2 if i recall was $250,  doesn't take much to get that.  I was flat broke i found the treasure hunts myself.  Getting that solid red hat costs a lot ;)

Are you positive about that?  Cause I know in Chapter 2, I had a bounty that was about $500 at one point in Valentine alone.

  14. 20 minutes ago, Kormath said:

supposedly 80% of the bounty is all they take if you surrender.  I always just pay my bounty off in a different state.  you get so much money from looting, hunting, treasures, etc. paying off an $800 bounty is no big deal.

It is if you don't have it.  Early on I didn't have money, even after doing hunting and fishing.  So I completed treasure hunts and that was when I got set up with money.

Separate servers would ruin the game. IMO. Just remove the minimap (dots) so griefers cant track you down is all that needed. Hunting is supspensful when I see a pink dot nearby just because I don't know their intenstions. Sometimes the wave and ride on by, sometimes I fire a warning sh*t to let them know it'll go down if they try me and sometimes it a battle...getting attacked by someone when hauling a lot of valuable pelts happened.

I don't understand how it could ruin it.  Those things you mentioned should, could and would still happen.    You would be in the same boat, where the player you encounter, you won't know what they wanted.  It's not like every player in the game would quit playing the PvEvP mode.  Those who enjoy the game and prefer the PvE parts of the game just won't be there.   Now if you like PvP part of them game, wouldn't you rather face a challenge over a player who will let you kill them and leave the server or the game?

Think of it this way, how many players have you encountered that played the beta in the 1st week and quit after they got the taste of what the game is like and waiting for the final release.  Have you seen them since?  Not if they quit and waiting for the final release.  So them not being there hasn't changed your game at all.  I don't think  you can even remember every player you encountered, so you don't even know who you are missing.

So having different servers, won't affect you unless you like to grief and avoid PvP all together.

Im now officially a "Griefer' in R*s eyes..lol

So I join a game with friends in it.  I spawn next to one of them and notice a Wolf attacking him.   I shoot the wolf and next thing I know I get a "GRIEFING" penalty and my honor goes down.

They where doing a free roam mission that required to hunt a wolf..  SO because I killed the wolf they where hunting I was the griefer..lol????

Yet funny enough.. If I would have waited for him to kill the wolf..  Then kill him and take the wolf.  That's OK... and not griefing.

    R* logic at its finest

It is funny.  It really depends on what their idea about what is griefing and what isn't.

All I can say is I am not a griefer, nor do I like griefers (except 1 buddy of mine). And I used to HATE getting grief from players, especially during a long hunting trip.  NOW ...because I'm good, I don't worry about getting griefed anymore. I kill griefers and its rewarding to me.  Point is...im having fun and enjoying the game while yall are still here on this forum just complaining about it.

Many cases we are to still playing the game and dealing with griefers as needed.  Currently the difference is we see a problem and would love to see it fixed, where you just see it as complaining, so you come in and complain about our complaining.   In reality, not much difference we are all complaining about something.  It really it upto each to decide what we feel needs attention.

If "crapstorm" means anonymous people complaining online while still playing the game on a daily basis then yes, there will be a crapstorm.

Over the past 3 years I have been playing a game that in the 1st few months they lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 90%+ now over issues players had with a game.  That is a crapstorm.  Yet the players who stayed argued more about the number who left and why they left, so while they did that issues didn't get fixed.  Company didn't need to, those same players was still playing and ignored the issues.

So I personally think Rockstar can do a reset if needed and make it at least acceptable enough for players to still want to play.

  19. In these forums you can create a Posse  and ask players to do that.  On Xbox, you create a club and invite players who are like minded.   Being on Xbox, I generally play something pending on who I see online from my friends' list.  Add me and if you see me on, I would join to help ya out.

I agree. If there is no skill involved in auto aim then why is it that some go 30/2 in a match and others go 2/14?

Lag?  Latency? Glitchers?  Cheaters?  Hackers?  Terrain?  Spawn points?  It is possible to be skill for Auto-Aim.

Yet to claim you are more skilled cause you use Auto-Aim vs a player who Free Aims.  Hahahahahaha.

Everyone is different. Me, I'm in this game for the long haul unless they do something to screw it up like robbing gold bars from players or excluding private lobbies.

I'm in unless they allow griefing to rule over all like they did with GTA.  Then I will find another game or only play the campaign over and over.
