Love the game but what amuses me most about this very subject is the amount of "witnesses" there seems to be IF you attack somebody in the remotest parts of the map. I have been in places where I haven't seen anybody for hours and along comes a stranger who seems to not like me, i try to defuse, he draws, I kill him and BAM...a witness to the crime pops up...kill him, BAM two more pop up...say wat?

Or how selective their witnessing seems to go.  Recently riding and saw a stagecoach being robbed.  I stop and walk up and the robbers start to challenge me,.  Bad guys draw and fire.  I draw and fire.  I kill the bad guys.   The person I just saved then takes off running and reports my crime.  For heaven's sake, I just saved your life.  At least give me a 5 minute headstart you little twerp.  I didn't eve loot the bodies or rob the coach.

The gold system would pose a problem for them, for sure.  It should be standard that once a game collects money outside the purchase of the BETA (in game purchase, maps, expansions) that the game is no longer considered a beta and progress cannot be reset. You know there's people out there that  spent 100's on gold bars, I don't see things going well if that gets wiped. They would have to give those people the same amount of gold bars to use after the wipe.

Players would be upset, as long as they refunded in gold bars spent.  So i would question what was you doing before a reset?  Your response, Grinding.  What would you do after reset?  Your response will be, ticked off, but still grinding.   Point will be, you are grinding either way.  You have gained experience on what you liked and what you didn't.  So if you have all your gold back and felt you wasted it before, you can have a second chance and buy the things that are new or does work for you.  It will suck to start over, but you now know what to do and what not to do.  Your process of grinding will be easier, plus you already know what to buy at the time.

  3. Rockstar can do a reset anytime they want, it is a beta after all.  On the other hand, usually when that is done they give out some kind of reward for your participation.  So I don't think you would lose as many players as one would think.  It would really depend on the reward.

As for the length of the beta will depend on their plan, it could end soon or it could take months.

  4. Beta usually takes from a week or more pending on discoveries.  This started in November and I hear rumors of next batches of changes are to be this month.  Will that be the end of the beta.  I don't know, but from what I hear it sounds like they are just going to make adjustments.  It could be we play for months and then one day it just won't be a beta anymore.

Different breeds have different quirks / characteristics.  My Arabian for example is fast but it is more twitchy and can get upset easily by comparison.  Regardless of bonding level their attitude and performance will also change when fatigued, frightened, startled, etc.

Personally, I like how R* added these kinds of elements into the game.  Horses are after all living creatures and don't always act exactly how you want them to.  I'm glad they don't act robotic.

Being around horses in my youth, I understand about horses.  Yet some of the reactions I get aren' t anything like a trained horse would behave.

  6. Even though I have my bond with my horse at max level.  Somedays, it just doesn't mind worth a hoot.  I will be trying to get it to go a certain direction and for some odd reason it will head the other way.  Max bond, brushed, feed, cores and stats good.  Yet a disobedient little ..........

i have had this online and in the campaign.

Yup, that's exactly when it happens. I do the same, ride in the dirt and let them have the road. It just really annoys me that R* intentionally put this in the game, it's childish...lol

I think they do it for the surprise element.  GTA or RDR seems like I will be chasing someone and then the NPCs will run out in front of me.  Now if being chased they will run to get out of the way, in campaign or online.

I don't know what you're talking about. Friday the 13th is the pinnacle, the absolute top peak of gaming design.  From the monotonous online game play to the STILL missing  story mode, the best ever...lol

I would have just loved to been able to play the game.  Everytime I tried, it would take forever to load in and someone would always dropout.  So I would get sent back finding another group.

You're starting to hurt my brain.

I never said I dive non stop and get easy kill shots.     Besides you don't get easy kill shots from diving.  The person diving is the one in trouble.

And yes.. I find myself in trouble all the time in PVP game modes.  Where people are literally spawning behind me and blasting at me, while im busy shooting at others.  Diving sure as hell isn't getting me any free kills.  Its simply allowing me time to survive and get to cover.

Feel free to dive infront me all you want.  I don't care.   I'll manually aim and blast you on the ground.  And if I do miss the shot on the diving player.. Il crouch and shoot to screw them over on trying to get a head shot while they stand up.

    Correction.....

Also, I throw myself all over the ground all the time.    No sure whats 'noobish' about it.

That is what you said.   The debate has been players diving on the ground, that breaks the lock and gives them the chance at a free headshot, because the original shooter now isn't locked on and has to wait to lock on again.

  10. 1 hour ago, HuDawg said:

Well..  remember R* used to add rolling around which is looks far worse..  At least the dive looks better.

Either way..  The dive is here to stay and the counter is manual aim or paint it black..  I don't have any problems with players using it or myself using it.  When I dive, I pray the player is relying on auto aim.

Just because it is here to stay, doesn't mean it should give the free kill shot.

This whole free aim vs auto aim debate is silly IMHO. There's a reason you can choose one or the other. Free aim is for those who want to challenge themselves and their gaming skills. Auto aim is for those who have less confidence in their gaming skills and want an overall more casual experience. Either choice is perfectly fine. You can't force others to play your style.

BTW, I fall into the latter category.

Referring back to the OP, he thinks he is the best because he uses auto-aim and claimed it takes more skill to use auto-aim then free aim.  There really is no issue whether or not you use it.  It's more of a matter claiming something that is completely off base.

    I don't understand this..

Dive is a scramble.  Only time I use it is when im ****ed.

So you throw yourself on the ground all the time.  Then you say it's only when you are in trouble.

In your words you are in trouble all the time.  Then you throw in that players are doing it to get a easy kill shot.  Then you have claimed that you are a free aim kind of player.  It is possible I am just miss understanding you, but it sounds as if you are trying to give us the opinion that you fight one way, but are also fighting the other.  I am curious which it is?

  13. 6 minutes ago, HuDawg said:

It makes it more exciting it terms of dodging bullets and landing shots meaning something.

For example.. Playing co-op missions with friends all using free aim.   The shoot out takes longer, taking cover and picking out targets takes a bit of effort.

Compared to everyone using auto aim.. Running infront each other trying to get the most kills.  And most of the time not caring about cover or picking out targets because they rely on auto aim being able to kill everything ASAP.

But ya.. to each their own.

So doing missions, you and your buddies roll around on the ground getting into each others way while taking cheesy headshots during your dives?

I personally like the taking cover and using a little strategy on missions instead of everyone being the Rambo.

  14. 52 minutes ago, HuDawg said:

But you can just shoot the person the moment he dives on the ground.

Besides people dive to avoiding being killed by 'auto aim' and break its lock ons.

No matter how stupid and cheesy it looks...  Auto Aim is worse.

I agree players should free aim more, but to say players diving around like idiots is better then them just out shooting you.  Sorry,  I have to disagree here.  Sad part is that Rockstar couldn't come up with a better plan then diving and allowing you to shoot a kill shot.

The thing that scares me about a bounty system is this: are you advocating other players going after the griefer for a reward?

Can you imagine the rush or bragging rights this guy might get if he is attacked by 20 people and manages to kill 19 before the 20th takes him down? This sounds sort of like what some of them are  actually looking for. It sounds exactly like what these guys are doing already.

I say make any punishment less dramatic and less what these guys are doing already.

I'm still advocating that after every nonconsensual killing/murder, the next time the griefer logs in, he gets a message from Rockstar saying that because of his griefing, he has lost 5 to 10 levels, along with the ability to use items that his new level no longer supports. Losing levels seems to have more consequences than anything in this game, even cash and gold.

Whatever you decide, everyone please send your suggestions to Rockstar in their feedback. Regardless of whether or not we can agree on what should be done to griefers, we do all agree that they are a problem and that some of us need help dealing with these online bullies. I'm not one that believes that fighting back solves the problem, it just shows the griefer that he can drag you down to his level.

    https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback

Problem is how hard is it for a griefer to gain those levels back.  I have played games that did this to a point and you could watch players fluctuate between levels and by the end of the night they ended right where they started or a little higher, cause it was easier to gain what you lost back in just a few hours.

  16. I think it is regional to a point, cause when I login and see many of they same griefers time and time again.  What is wierd is in the mornings I see more griefers online and at night very few.

As far it being a culture thing?  I look at it as a mentality thing.  In PvP, I see most players regardless of game using the same techniques.  If you get on a server that has people just run around killing each other.  You get one game experience, while someone else may get on a server where everyone runs around helping each other, hunting, fishing, missions.  So like I said, mornings I play looking to kill griefers or trying to avoid them.  At night, I find myself trying to help others and complete tasks like hunting or fishing.

  17. According to my son, some one found info leading to the idea of another undead nightmare.  He said the same guy found things that he believed could be a continuation of the story for some of the other members.   Now the guy supposedly supplied proof, but I shrugged it off to my son and told him he shouldn't ruin the surprise.

I never wanted to argue in the beginning until I started being called a liar. Sick and tired of people's attitudes nowadays. And thank you I appreciate that. I have contacted them with multiple emails. They continuously email me back saying that they are working on the problem. My biggest issue is them not wanting to refund the money and take the gold bars back out of my account. Starting to seem like they don't value their customers.

I guess at this point you need to calm down.  It really sucks you wasted money that you really didn't need to.  I was at the same place, but I had the gold and it wouldn't let me buy the stuff.  Trust me, when I say some of us understand.  You got to remember that not everyone online will be supportive or welling to understand why you did what you did.  They just won't feel sorry for you and of they have their opinion that they will gladly pass onto you.  Good luck with getting your money back and if you don't you have a jump start on when you get to the level it unlocks.

Went to the stable about a week ago and noticed that I could buy the black Arabian horse early if I were to use gold. At least that's what the game was telling me, it even let me hit buy now with gold, and it took me straight to the store saying I didn't have enough gold. Thinking I could get a head start I went ahead and purchased the right amount of gold needed. Precisely $20 worth in US currency. After returning to the game I was unable to buy the horse.

I've contacted Rockstar Support probably ten times since this has happened. I'm continuously getting emails from different Representatives saying that they know the issue is present because others have complained about it. They are unwilling to refund me my $20 and take the gold back out of my account. This in my opinion is a cheap and dirty way to scam people into spending more money on this game. Absolutely unacceptable. I was a big supporter of Rockstar and now over a $20 bill I'm starting to get the hint that they are just money hungry.

I've asked three different times to speak to a manager or supervisor and I'm constantly getting beat around the bush. Shame on you Rockstar you guys are a joke.

They fixed this during one of the updates, after everyone was getting their Arabian by getting gold, when they added the "buy gold".  Then was when the nipped it in the bud.  So if you got it before then, you are ok.  After the fact, now we get "Tough, this is a beta.  We can change the rules as we like and just saying we are doing it for the sake of the game."

I was about the same, when they gave gold away.  I realized I had enough, went in to buy it and was denied.  After asking around, I was told it was patched with an update.  Too many players was buying it before they ever reached the level to actually buy it.  Other things got pinched at that time as well.

Tonight I tried to make a persistent Posse named "US Marshal Service" and was promptly told that it contained a banned word(s). Does anyone know which word would be banned or a complete list of banned words? I found the GTA V banned word list, assuming that the RDR2 list would be similar, but none of the words I tried to use were on there. Anyone know our left and right limits regarding naming conventions?

US Marshal Service.  Seeing how there is a US Marshall Service, they may have flagged it for that.
