Ya, sorry, should have clarified that, from the draw pile. Pretty sure Red Dead Redemption 1 let you choose which one you drew, now I tend to end up drawing the whole pile just to get to the one I would've drawn myself in the first place.
RDR didn't have dominoes.

I tried to lasso it, drug me around a bit twice. So then i tried the walk slow and calm it approach. Don't mash your X button (on xbox) to calm it, you'll end up jumping toward it and make it run off, did that twice
It does take a few minutes doing the slow approach, but i think that's more fun that lasso it and be done with it.
It's easy to track. leaves a big trail in the snow, when the trail ends just look around in tracking mode and look for the glowing horse. For me it was never far from where the tracks ended.
I never saw a wolf attack it, first time i saw it i was running through the area to go fish for the legendary there. I didn't even know there was a legendary horse there at the time. Wolves were near it but never bothered it. I spooked the horse and the wolves chased me. Found that wolves will leave whatever they're chasing alone if they spot you, and come after you. Had this happen numerous times while hunting them for the perfect hides/carcass.
Maybe I just not being clear enough. Tracks stop, horse GONE. If you use Hunters Vision. It stops with the tracks. It is GONE. No where to be found. Disappeared. Zilch. No be there. Totally not on the map. I haven't seen it since. Been up there a dozen times since I saw last and it just won't appear. Yet the wolves dead carcasses are still there and it has been over 2 weeks in the game since I saw it last. I am getting to the point where it is just simply ticking me off. My son showed me a video of some kid who rode up to it and jumped from his horse to it, broke it in a few seconds and rode it back to town.

They'll show up for $15, those greedy pricks...
You definitely had to have shot up a town for that.
Nope! My concern was that there maybe restricted areas that flag if you ride through them.

Patience is one thing, it being saved from wolves and then just disappear is another. More of annoyance if anything. I can't catch it with wolves around and that happened the only 2 times I saw it. It was gone before as soon as I dealt with them, which took no time at all, just the stupid dead eye animation and poof! gone.
-
It was like $425 and was riding in the East Grizzlies. What gave it away was bounty hunters showed up. I out ran them and went to check to see why they was chasing me and to see what my bounty was. I had just paid off all my bounties and was shocked that I still had a bounty, let alone one so high. Bounty that high you can't even go near a town without law or bounty hunters come looking.
-
So I started over and this is my second run through. Things going well, travel a lot. Now like the 1st, I am getting high bounties in areas that I have never been to rarely been to. Not talking about West Elizabeth either. They're not from missions and I haven't committed crimes. So question I have is there areas that if you ride through you are just going to get a wanted level? I experienced this in the far east and the north of the map? Middle of no where, no city and rarely any people.

So I tried to track this beast this weekend. After many hours, it spawned only twice and both times it was be attacked by wolves. I used dead and killed the wolves, but by the time I the animation from dead eye cleared up. The horse was gone. I could see tracks in the snow, but at some point they would just stop. I tried to use the Hunter's Vision there was no trace of the horse's path. It just disappeared both times. Is there a trick, that I am not getting?

It's not that big of deal IMO. Most times, the missions are not that far from the main camp but even so there are sometimes other options when they are. ....stagecoaches and trains for example.
Personally, when out and about I take that opportunity to visit fences to unload goods, buy new weapons, do side activities / missions that may be available, get a haircut, etc.
I like way R* has immersed me into the game world this way.
To me it is an issue on some tasks, just yesterday I had done 2 task both lead me to the middle of nowhere. Spent more time traveling that dealing with the task. Trains and stage coaches and the side missions are fine, but I had task that I set out for myself and it was a buzz kill.

It sounds like you are just trying to blow through the game. I get it if your just banging out the story missions, but there is a ton to do and explore between missions. I mean, that's the beauty of this game. The side activities, challenges, etc almost feel like a nice departure from the main quest. Plus the camp is never too far from any rail road or stage coach.
I don't think you do get it. I am just the kind of person who likes to clear all the missions, side missions, find the hidden gems in each area so that I experience everything before I move onto the next task at hand. Instead in this game I find myself starting something, traveling all the way across the map to complete that task and then have to travel all the way back to do the next task. Like the Lord of the Rings novels, I spend more time traveling then enjoying the story. I don't mind taking it slow, but when that time is on horse back traveling the same road I traveled already 1 million times.

To me that is the problem. I start something it leads me half across the map. Then I have to return back to the beginning to start the next thing. It is kind of a pain not to be able to fast travel to certain locations once unlocked. Which I get why they do it, so you have chances at other missions or encounters, but kills the buzz traveling back to the beginning every time.
-
Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption wasn't the same. So RDR and RDR2 aren't the same. All similar enough for me to want to continue the story. I personally feel like there is a lot of free roam. I do hate that there is no fast travel. Nothing like trying to clear a portion of the map and start doing a task that sends you all the way to the other side of the map, only to have to travel all the back to where you started each time. The game isn't perfect, but the problems I have encountered have been small inconveniences nothing I can't live with. Now the online stuff will be out in a few weeks and then the real headaches begin. The cheaters will start cheating and doing all that they can to ruin the fun of all.
-
I keep that was planned way in advance, so that they don't waste money on servers. Pretty smart planning actually. Gives players a chance to make a few runs through the story mode, start to get bored with it. Then BAM!, a brand new game mode to add some spice.

Gold duplicate glitch, instant $15,000 everytime. Ruins the game of earning money though. You can find the glitch on google.com
Cheating shouldn't be the answer. Especially there are other ways to earn more then enough money to play.

I agree, that's why the real money that you pay for Online store currency would be used to purchase in-game funds. It'd be one thing if the in-game funds could be converted into real world cash, but they can't, and that's why there isn't an issue.
The "real money" isn't being directly used for gambling, so there's no issue--from a strictly legal perspective. That's the workaround for lootboxes: most people aren't buying loot boxes directly, they're ostensibly laundering real cash into online currency which can have multiple uses, like skins, weapons, or emotes--or randomized lootboxes. It's a fine line, but a very real one.The line shouldn't be to convert real cash to in game cash so you can gamble with it. I am glad this isn't a way to reverse it. Game industries don't want to lose money. I personally just see converting real cash to in game cash causing issues down the road.

Which is why they'll have a separate currency for online transactions. If they follow the model used by "The Division" or "The Elder Scrolls Online", the in-game money will stay the same, but you'll have to use a separate currency that you can purchase with real world funds to buy additional "in-game" money.
Example: let's call the money you earn in-game from the fence and looting "US Currency".
Now, let's say the online currency is going to be called "Deadeye Dollars". You'll log into XBL or PSN with your credit card info to purchase "Deadeye Dollars", which can be used to buy a slew of things in the RDO online shop, from horses to guns and everything in between. You'll also be able to use it to purchase "US Currency" to use in the game (maybe for gambling in-game). As long as there isn't a way to convert "US Currency" back into "Deadeye Dollars" there isn't an issue in terms of gambling with real world money from a legal perspective.
Thin ice. IMHO, they shouldn't allow real money to be used for gambling. If used it should be for cosmetics not p2w, not for pay to gamble. It's just bad karma.

I don't understand why they have to go through all this trouble to begin with. The game itself is simulated gambling, not real gambling. If people want to buy DLC money and use it for gambling, why not just let them??
Cause buying "DLC money and use it for gambling", would make it gambling with real money. Which there are laws that need to be abide. To big of a chance of players that would not show restraint and spend what they don't really have. Already, kind of a problem with players in video games with microtransactions.

Read Dead Online is the multiplayer of the game. It isn't out yet, but should be coming out soon as a beta. It's kind of like GTA online, but obviously it will be different. No flying cars and motorcycles.
Not that we know of yet. There may be some Rockstar silliness, like flying cars and motorcycles. It's yet to be seen.

I'm 70% done, taking my time. I've even done all the bandit challenges, I've had my bounty up to $550. I not once have had an issue with bounty hunters unless it was intentional. Pay your bounties, sell some wagons or something. Unless you're playing as a total irresponsible bandito mass murderer, I don't see how this is possible. I've heard this and similar complaints only from people who don't fully understand the game mechanics or who don't want to actually put the work in and play the game. This isn't GTA. I think a lot of people expected this to be gta but with horses, and that isn't how these games are. I most certainly hope Rockstar doesn't start changing things just for mass appeal.
You don't want changes and yet you haven't experienced where you can do absolutely nothing and get a bounty for it. I have and it's weird that I started over and there seems to be a completely different game. My son was playing at the same time he never seemed to get a bounty unless he did something to deserve it. I have read about how others have ridden into towns and immediately have a bounty. I to enjoy the game and would hate for major changes that would affect the whole idea of the game, I too have seen some strange things which makes me wonder if there isn't a problem somewhere. Players shouldn't go in shooting up towns without consequences, but they shouldn't get bounties just for riding into towns either.

I have been in a open field with only 1 tree and had my horse head straight for it every time.

I just discovered that there is a "Horse station" function at camp. If you walk up to a hitching post, you get the "Horse station" prompt where you can swap out your horses (if you own multiple horses). Neat.
Don't you have to upgrade your camp to get that?

Did you know that if you skin a legendary animal and die, you get credit from the Trapper?

Having practiced all the usual bonding techniques with my horse, it is now stronger and healthier than at the beginning of the game, the personal bond is strong too.
However, the problem is there seems to be no way to feed the horse any of the elixirs you carry in your satchel at any given time. For example... let's say you're riding from Valentine to Rhodes (one of the challenges in the game) and your horse starts to tire as his stamina is critically low. In my satchel I have a number of elixirs and food items that would help the horse recover more quickly (as this is what works for Arthur Morgan when he's low). For some reason you cannot feed the horse these elixirs either from the saddle or when standing next to it. The items are greyed out in the inventory and cannot be selected to give to the horse.
Consequently they are totally pointless items and just take up valuable rom in your inventory.
Can anyone explain why this is and if there is some way of using them?
Thanks
Not sure what settings you use, but this isn't readable on my screen.

Has anyone watched how fast it grows and how it varies from one time to another?
I like the goatee look. So I shaved and noticed several times that by the time I reach Valentine, he'll have a full beard again. Yet I have road all the way to Saint Denis and it won't grow at all.

I have only seen it twice and as stated above both times it was being attacked by wolves and then disappeared. This idea will bring some feeling of justice after all of this.
