A game should be reflecting real life so unless you're a priest or a big, fat loner, sex should be part of that storytelling.

Why does it have to be part of the story telling?  How would that change the game's ending?

Love that you can find Star Wars fans anywhere you go.  My favorite character is Darth Vader and favorite movie is Empire Strikes Back.  Also like Rogue One, love watching the end.  Watching Yoda show Luke he was full of sh*t by lifting the X-Wing in Empire originally got me interested (think it was the first scene I ever saw, got fascinated by the idea of the Force).  There were things I liked, others that I didn't about Last Jedi.  Didn't like what they did with Luke and Leia.  Would love to see more original characters make appearances, maybe make a stand alone where the New Republic isn't established yet and the Alliance is hunting down Imperial remnants while setting up the new government. Would probably need to use actor's in prosthetic makeup like they did for Tarkin at the end of Revenge of the Sith for some of the original characters for that movie idea. Really excited to see what they do with the Boba Fett and young (possibly padawan, but I hear it's early Jedi days) Yoda movies I've heard are planned.

Well, I read somewhere the current trilogy, was written to give closer to Han, Luke, and Leia.  Their swan song if you will.  While doing that they was going to take the time to build up the next generation of heroes and villians.  So far, I haven't seen any of them I like.  No heroes I find worth rooting for and no villains that you want to hate.  Everyone liked Han, Luke, and Leia.  Everyone loved hating Darth Vader.  You think about it, the Empire's success was on him.  Emperor sat back in the shadows.  The Imperial navy really waited for Vader to constantly pull them out of every situation.

Thank you! To be honest, it's not just the brothels I feel it's lacking. It's romance in general -- outside of the main story that is. There are so many npcs and interesting characters, hell, Arthur's an interesting character. I wasn't expecting the pornographic GTA 5 sex scenes (well... maybe I was), but, I was certainly expecting some form of romance to give depth to the character and his journeys.

I mean, the outlaw can't ever fall in love with a maiden in a town in the middle of nowhere? It just seems like wasted potential. Here's this giant romantic world (by definition, the scenery being as beautiful as it is), and your character is forever alone. All you really have the option of doing is being a Lone Ranger. I get a lot of people don't necessarily need it, but it's a noticeable exclusion from the game none the less. It wasn't forgotten, it was left out.

1st off, you shouldn't consider sex and romance as the same thing.  For some of us older guys who have been married a long time.  Some days just touching your partners hand is nothing sexual.  It is pure statement in your actions that you love them and you got their back.  Not saying one can't be a sign of the other, but in this day and age not all people see sex as romance.  Many cases they see it more as notch on their bed posts, then building something long lasting.

2nd, what makes you think that Arthur won't have love interest?

3rd,  I don't know this but maybe Arthur's life doesn't have love in it.  Maybe he is the kind of person that has no need to settle down or fall in love.  Maybe he is a warrior that lives and dies by the sword.  Then again I know grown adults, never married, never dated, they are very happy living solo in their lives.  They don't want the drama that comes from being in a romantic relationship.

4th.  Last, I don't see what a persons need to go to a brothel is required.  Our character is an outlaw, who most likely takes what they want, regardless whether or not the other person wants give consent.  Even a brothel, if history serves me correctly, many times the ladies there wasn't doing it cause that's how they wanted to spend their days and nights, it wasn't a job, it was survival.  It wasn't glorious.  It wasn't romantic.

So unless someone has already played all 60 hours and proven that in the end game, that Arthur doesn't find happiness.  We don't know if he doesn't find romance.  We don't know what kind a character he turns out to be.  I am sure there will be videos out on YouTube within the day or so showing all the possible endings.

So.. the opposite of Ubisoft, then?

Also, your new profile photo pleases me.

Once upon a time and only a few years ago, I had zero issues with Ubisoft.  It took one game and them having terrible attitude towards their customers and worse treatment on their forums.  I have zero interests in their pre-orders or their games.  Rockstar in the only one I trust and even, then I have noticed I am a little reluctant towards their games.

No spoilers, just some new information. It's been confirmed that Arthur cannot see prostitutes or engage in any sexual activity in the game. I wasn't bothered by any of the other information (like clipping of objects), but this I have to admit is a let down. This is a game where you HAVE to eat and sleep, change your clothes based on the weather, feed and look after your horse, etc. Horses dynamically crap, their testicles shrivel dynamically, animals decompose dynamically, and there are over 80 pages of dialogue for each NPC...

And yet they drew the line at sex. Arthur Morgan, your Wild West outlaw, can butcher entire towns and settlements, but will never be able to visit a brothel. Figures.

It made sense for John. But for Arthur? Nah. I'm still hyped for the game, but I gotta admit I don't appreciate that they purposefully kept this from the game. It's not like it was an oversight. The game has dynamic horse pooping. This was intentionally omitted from the game. A Rockstar game. Potentially the only Wild West game of this caliber that will ever exist and your outlaw can never have sex. Murder indiscriminately, sure. Sex, nah. That's too much.

I don't know if you can tell -- I'm pretty salty right now.

After the whole "Coffee" incident with GTA San Andreas.  I can see why they wouldn't.  I can see your point, but as I said in another thread.  To me it isn't needed for the game.  I won't say Rockstar is a family friendly, but with our society being as sensitive as is about this kind of topic.  I am sure that is a fight they don't want to have.

It lets you record your gameplay then you can edit it with several different styles, shots etc

Its what people use to make gta 5 films for YouTube

A lot of YouTubers use things like that so they can show you "How To Use The Latest Cheats, Glitches, and Hacks", that everyone abuse the game instead of just a few players.  It's harder for a company to ban everyone if they all cheat vs a few that won't be missed for cheating.

Just visited with a YouTuber a few nights ago on GTA: Online, that was bragging about all of the cheats he has exposed online to have find out that many of his followers have been banned from the game.  Meanwhile he keeps making the videos.

Well, thanks CMcC.  You're one of mine as well.  In fact, there are a lot of nice folks around here.  I hope that doesn't change too much as the community grows.

We're all outlaws here.  We can't make any promises that we will play nice in the future.  :)

  8. Hero = Skywalker.  Villian = Admiral Thrawn.  Star Wars, back in the day you had no New Hope.  It was only Star Wars.  My prediction would be Disney needs to fire their writers who works on Star Wars movies and hire people who know that universe, cause the clowns they got now, really miss the mark on what makes a great story.  I not a big fan of Ep. 1-3.  I love Ep. 4-6.  Not liking any of the new stuff.  I don't understand the need to kill off your stars from the originals for the sake of bringing in new characters that seem lifeless.

Other story lines they could have done.

    Thrawn Trilogy

    Kotor Story

    Rogue Squadron

    Dark Empire

    The New Jedi Order

At one time there was a rumor about novels that was being written about Madalorians, you know Boba Fett like characters, that never got released.

I love where Star Wars started, but to me the Disney Star Wars gives you no reason to like the new characters.

  9. Back before pre-orders, I had a buddy that at the store he worked at employees got 1st shot at incoming product.  Soon as they would get it in, the employees could go ahead and buy items before stuff would be placed on the shelfs.  He always made a killing on Black Friday.  People would pay him a 25%+ on a item just so they wouldn't have to get up to go get an item.   He made a killing in college that way.

When a man and a woman love each other....

    Wait, that's a different "talk".

If I had to guess, there's plenty of people looking to score coveted "internet points" by posting leaks/spoilers.  Having worked in retail, you'd be surprised how early they ship product out in advance of street dates to brick and mortar stores.

You'd be even more surprised as to how easy it is to acquire these things early, especially as an employee.

I had a friend who worked at Gamestop, they didn't used to get them several days early.  If they was lucky the got them same day as a release.    Maybe they have changed since he worked there, but this is getting ridiculous.

Especially, if Rockstar themselves are releasing it to customers this early.

  11. From my experiences it is all about the presentation.  It won't make you a better gamer, but it will give better visuals if you are into that.  A friend upgraded for The Division and told me that I needed to do the same.  I went over to his place and saw it.  I still don't see the need for the upgrade, yet!

No offense intended, it's just nice to play a game with people that can remember back to the 1890s who can tell us if the game was true to life.   hehehehehe

  13. Playing GTA Online with my son, we are doing missions to make him some cash.  During the mission, there was non-stop npc spawning.  I actually ran out of ammo, cause the bad guys wouldn't stop spawning.   I don't remember exactly what we went for, but we cleared a path and the NPCs would just spawn right behind us.  It was infuriating.  I understand getting out flanked, but when you are just 2 people that are facing x amount of NPCs and instead of strategy, they just create more bad guys and spawn them right on top of you.

So I hope they come up with a better system then that.

Okay fine, wild west vs battle droids it is then!

Another bad idea, that would get out of hand by Rockstar.  Like I said before they need to keep it grounded to a point and not let it get out of hand like they did GTA Online.  Too many OP items that allow serious griefing online.  Prefer just to avoid that style of gaming.
