I don't do online games either, with the exception of The Division. I did enjoy the survival DLC playing with others online.
Love The Division 2, my son and i play that together, and typically that's just when i play it, so i'm still a lowly level 13 i think lol.
When he's not around (he's almost 20 now, so he's away more than he is home) i play a hunting simulator game, probably one of the reasons i love hunting in RDR2 so much, they're quite similar. TheHunter: Call of the Wild, i have about 12 days of playtime in it. It's the most realistic hunting sim yet.
If i'm not in the mood to hunt i've been working on Assassin's Creed Origins, so i can start playing Odyssey, i bought Odyssey when it was released but wanted to finish Origins first. But the first playthrough of RDR2 was taking all my time.
Also playing Ark's 3rd DLC - extinction i think it is? and The Forest is not yet released for Xbox
And finally Just Cause 4. yeah it got a lot of bad reviews but i'm having fun with it, i like some of the changes they made from #3.

Funny you should reply just now, I was just in Scarlett Meadows or whatever, the old battlefield near Braithwaie? and in the moddle of the battle filed was a dead tree with a Horned owl on it.
First play through when i made this post i finally got my owl sitting between the antlers on top of the sign you go under when entering Strawberry from the Valentine side, only owl I saw that whole play through i think.
I'll check that battlefield also

and Buell lives forever (well, until I get him killed).
i found another fun way to die and take out your horse last night by accident. I stole an oil tank wagon, was riding it back to the fence, set my controller down to get a drink and the RT button got pushed, shot the horse in the ass, he kicked the wagon, wagon exploded killing me and my horse riding behind it. DIdn't think of recording it, was laughing too hard.
Seems like when you start another playthrough you go through all the noob button mistakes too. I did record a clip of how stupid my horse is, target a guy to say Hi as you ride by, the camera turns making the horse turn (it was the camera i'm sure, not me holding the stick left to target the guy) and we face plant into a rock wall

I just went to the yellow icons on screen, you have to go the sneaky way, and then after you cross the river stay very close to it on the cliff, you will soon come upon the guys and the mission will get started, its a fun one.
Just did this last night. You don't need to sneak, it's insanely simple. Mark the location with your GPS, follow the red line to the mission. don't deviate from that route or you'll get dead. I picked a herb on the way that was maybe 20 yards off the road, got shot in the head for it. respawned and followed the red line and had no issues.

If you are still looking or others are looking, an easy 100% way to get an owl, is go to the large island off shore of Clemmens point, on the other side of the island is a crashed ship, on the tall mast at night is an owl, I think every night, I was able to get several owls all from this location whenever I needed one.
You're talking about the crashed ship -
Spoilerwhere you get the pirate hat?

For example, you accidentally bump someone, and it escalates, you should be able to de-esclate things just as easily,
you can, target them and press the button shown to de-escalate.

I collected the Valentine clue first. Later, was riding down by Rhodes, picked up the clue there. Then I got killed by some Lemoyne Raiders and the game reloaded me to right outside the forest where the Rhodes clue is. I assumed I had it, went on with my life. Got the last clue near Wallace Station, but the map didn’t complete. Looked through my satchel and I don’t have the Rhodes clue. Rode back to Rhodes, there’s blood but no body and no head. Used Dead Eye, nothing. Rode to Valentine, but there’s nothing there and I have that piece already.
Is there any fix for this? Can’t reload a save because it was an auto-save that reset me. Tried closing the game and reopening, then went back to Rhodes. Nothing.
I’m on PS4.
save often, don't rely on auto-saves. You're screwed to be blunt.

Also, since the last 2 patches, I have something new. I’ve had LIVE ANIMALS disappear, as I’m looking at them. (Not just bison). I have this happen about once every 2-3 hours of hunting.
For example, yesterday. I ride up on 3 rabbits. All are easily in visual range. I shoot the first rabbit. I auto-target with the varmint rifle on the 2nd rabbit. it auto-targets. Then, sometime in the milliseconds between me targeting and firing, it fails to fire. I see a rabbit image, but it is frozen. I can’t shoot it. I un-target and try to re-target, and can’t. Then, after a few seconds the after-image of the rabbit blinks out while I’m staring right at it. <poof!>
A disappearing rabbit trick. :=)
had this happen twice in story mode last night. Needed a perfect badger for the satchel, and i found one, tracked it for just a short bit, couple hundred yards maybe, it went over a rock and the trail vanished. needed a perfect rabbit, found one of them, same thing, tracked it for a while, then it went down a hill between two rock outcroppings and vanished. I was in eagle eye then and watched the blue trail disappear.

I am not a fan of these kinds of games but I can see why they are adding it in. If I do decide to get the game, I likely won't play it.
i looked at this game when it came out and was such a rage, and i was like umm okay, 🙄 boring, Not my kind of game either, but yeah can see why people would like it and the battle royal would be fun for those that enjoy this.

This weekend i plan on watching the spaghetti western trilogy with my son, he's getting into the westerns also - Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, Bad, and Ugly

Mountain town in the Northwest US, elevation is just over a mile above sea level, population just over 8k, so that's about 20 times larger than the town i grew up in a bit east-northeast of here.

It took a while to ride between towns. Also took a while to sleep for three days afterward. Now I just need to find a reliable spawn point for grizzly bears.
This area never failed me.

never tried that, if you press A or whatever the bottom button on the PS4 is, X?, in time with the gallop it won't lose stamina, i'm not that coordinated, but i've been able to slow the stamina loss drastically, the last few times i tried the 17 minute dry run i only used 2 stimulants.

Well that's Zoologist and Skin Deep earned (last two owls were a bit of a pain to find). Now I just need to get a high bounty in all states.
I'm not sure I'm going to try for the 70 golds.
Edit: The Bountiful trophy was pretty easy - took about 20 minutes.
high bounty is easy, go kill everyone in each town

This whole scenario in the OP isn’t limited to games. It is a primary reason many oppose women serving in combat in the military. Men, culturally and perhaps even genetically, are ‘programmed’ to protect women. They tend to ignore orders, lose discipline, relegate to secondary the assigned mission to ‘go to the aid of’ women. Whether they need it, or not.
(Although, just limiting it to when a woman soldier, like any man, WOULD get injured and need help — it is a kind of valid point, from what I’ve seen of men and of soldiers).
yep agreed, but they'd go to an injured female before a male in any situation. That's a complaint i hear from my friends in the reserves, and my brother who was in the navy and army. Women are a distraction for most males, it's that little brain taking over (lower brain, whatever you call it in your area). Agreed it's the younger generations more so than the older folk like me and some others mentioned. Like @Kean_1 i was raised to give up my seat, open doors, etc. for women. And not just women, seems out generation has more respect for fellow men and women than the current generation will ever have.
And then you gotta wonder why Australia's army is paying for women to get enhancements, tactic or stupidity?

So there I was dreading another play through as the Epilogue was so hard for me to finish. But here i am in Chapter 2, just unlocked the fence, and i'm loving it! I'm remembering how i did the missions before and trying different options if they have them.
SpoilerLike antagonizing the stranger at the river that is whining about some girl, instead of greeting him and giving advice.
Tonight i should have the materials for the legendary satchel, just like last play through - score is Cougar 8, Arthur 1 lol

My previous save is too far behind my current progress like a bunch of challenges I have completed and I really don't want to do them all over again not to mention the gold achievements!
Thanks for any help!
The reason you save often

I never had an issue with it. replayed it twice on my first play through, not there yet on my 2nd playthrough.
Rockstar support is your best bet.

You can also melee from horseback, but I’ve never really bothered.
Lol i do that all the time. someone pisses you off you ride up beside them and kick them in the head.
I keep trying to run down a deer or pronghorn and see if i can kick one over and hop off the horse and kill it like a wounded one or lasso'd one.

Hello - I am playing "Blessed are the Peacemakers". When I get to repairing the wound sequence, I can get the candle up, but I cannot get him to stick the candle in the wound. The instructions on the screen say "Left up" to raise the candle and "X" to insert the candle into the wound. I have tried X and every other possible sequence of keys to no avail. Frustrating because this a key sequence, and I can not get to the rest of the game. Can any body help me?
you have to tap X repeatedly, like when you're lifting Lenny up onto the train in chapter 1, you hit the A button (xbox one) over and over. the tool tips they put on the screen are accurate, you press the left stick up to raise it and mash the X button to bring the candle to the wound. Fairly easy to tell as when you press it once a sliver of the ring around the button they're showing will turn white.

I know I used this technique for SAME tomahawk but I think the first miss will generally turn them red
Don't think so, at least not when i was trying this one before i caught they had to be enemies. I was trying with the ranchers in Emerald Ranch. The few times i missed (usually from too far away before i read the dead eye trick) they'd run and report me for disturbing the peace of all things.
Guess it would depend on who you're targetting, maybe it's just the ranchers that run away.

following people is generally frowned upon IN REAL LIFE( pretty creepy actually)...when did that stop being true!?
when it's done on the internet. Real life stalking is still illegal, but very few states have any laws for cyber stalking. Sorry i mean "following". That and online harrassment is really getting looked at now though, at least in the US, especially after that white supremacy harassment deal last year.

Yeah, I guess it might be deceptive how a town can slow you down, especially when a wagon gets in the way. I just avoided all towns. If I try and hurry through a town, the game knows and usually puts a wagon on a bridge to get in my way. Same with animals - the game knows what I want and then shows me everything in the encyclopedia except the one that I want.
And cut scenes kill the timer I think. One run, I camped by mistake.
Wonder if pausing to check the map has an effect on the timer?

Owls?

Thanks! i'll check there also. That's where i did the Sharpshooter challenge 10 i think it is,
