  1. i don't use music when i game usually, i'd rather hear the game, and 99% of the time i have headphones plugged into my controller so my aging ears can hear the fine sounds like the deer walking in the brush in my hunting game, or other quiet noises like that.

But there are some games where it doesn't matter, and for those on the rare occasion i play them i'll turn on some EDM.  it makes the perfect background music.  Fisher is one of my favorites, Armin van Buren is another.

  2. we can only hope!!

i can't stand twitter and the twits on it.  Drives me nuts when i turn on one of my favorite tv shows and it's an 'enhanced' or whatever they call it where they post the twitter feeds from people.  you'll see posts from some of the dumbest people in the world lol  no wonder it's dying.

No you misunderstand his question man he's not trying to teleport he's trying to get rid of the fog of War...

yeah i got it, didn't miss that part, and stagecoach is the fastest way to do it if that's all your after.  but you have to ride and discover the different locations to use the stage anyway.  Do a sprint run to all locations (excluding Blackwater and New Austin since OP is in chapter 2)  Once they're 'found' the stage is the fastest way.  Still going to have to explore around the towns to uncover all of the map though, no way around that.

They breed like bunnies in the tall trees ... any idea where I can find a swarm of opossums?

all over the map, they're nocturnal.  i found all of mine in West Elizabeth up near the legendary buck area, around the old oil derrick south of Twin Stack Pass, and there's some along Ringneck Creek.  those are the only 3 reliable spots i found.   I'd search in West elizabeth all night, then go to Valentine and spend the day with the bath girl and sleep till evening, then ride from valentine through the open lands to the oil derrick, i usually found them in brush between the tracks and the derrick or in the draw at the derrick and up the hill.  go from there to the creek and you'll spot them sometimes out in the open grasslands.  When you get to the creek ride down it just below the pond to the Kamassa River, sometimes you'll find 2 'possum there.  Don't forget to hit your eagle eye every so often to help spot them.

By the way I don't know if anybody actually answered your question, I found the fastest way to open the map was to steal a train and driving around the tracks... This will open up about as wide of view as possible without doing the open exploring you're talkin about, the train is slower than I like it to be but it's still faster than doing it by horse.

stage coach is faster,  can get to any town in the game with it, and a short ride from there to anywhere on the map.

I find it generally takes less than one game day to fully Bond a horse...

3-4 hours in real time.  ride it the majority of that time, feed it, brush it, pat it, etc. to get the bonding points.  Fairly simple to catch a wild horse and have it fully bonded in that time frame.

For the Herbalist 9 challenge, you need to pick all variants of the 43 plants after you get the prompt.  If you've already got them in your satchel, you'll need to get them all over again.

When I played this part of the game, I chose to start Herbalist 9 at the same time as the exotic hunting, so I got all of my orchids ticket off as I found them.

right, you have to pick them again for the herbalist, they count though for the exotics & hunting requests if you get them early.

     orchids are unlocked by progression...

not sure on that, when are they unlocked?

i had orchids in my satchel before chapter 4 when you get the exotic quests that were needed for the quests.  I found a couple of the Lady Slipper from the west elizabeth area near the trapper  while hunting in chapter 2 and some of the Sparrow Egg, or is it the Dragon's Mouth  from roanoke around Annesburg in chapter 2 also.  I know it was chapter 2 as i was hunting for the legend satchel and i got that before i started chapter 3.

  9. i had numerous carcasses needed for the hunting requests and the exotics, and never did run into the glitch for progression.  I had all the heron plumes and then some extra long before i got to chapter 4.  I kept getting the prompt to sell them in the nicer part of the city or whatever that was so i kept them all.

So I know there are plenty of people who think that this mystery is just to lead to the Easter egg

      Reveal hidden contents

With the aliens over the shack and mount Sean

I am not happy with this because there are far too many clues in the game that allude to something else entirely! I am making this thread specifically for people who agree there is something in game that has not been found yet! I have a few theories and have heard a few more that I would like to try / have better players than I try,

      Reveal hidden contents

I have not gone to mount Sean because I believe there is something that needs to be unlocked

One of my theories for people who are good at overlaying the maps, is the not the panoramic but the cave painting has a star marks the spot ... I want to know if anything is there, I would also appreciate if somebody could upload a map with a spoiler! That shows the location of the Viewpoint because I hear there is treasure there and I haven't been able to find it

The other clues that I believe may be connected are the giant remains as well as the mysterious writing on the tree near he'll home or maybe even the mysterious writing in Blackwater, if you look at the rock painting it shows big people talking to little people... And there are giant remains in two locations on this map, I honestly don't know how to connect those two statements but I feel there is one ;any thoughts?

If you were more than happy seeing the light and finishing the game and moving on to online congrats! I care much more about the story! And I am not willing to just give up on it because other people have, there are still too many things left to try...

I would also greatly appreciate it if anybody could post pictures of the mysterious writings, I don't use the share button on my controller, apparently there's some mysterious writing around the church and  lakay as well...

search the forums if nobody comes out to post them.  There's a thread or 2 here about them with pictures if i recall correctly.

I have done both those areas and never seen a Robin, but I guess if you look at it logically the game will eventually spawn one, so I guess that is my answer, just hang out at the river til I find one.

uggg lol I hate these small birds they ae very difficult to see and find and then it is a crap shoot to their quality. Ill get it.

varmint rifle and buck trinket, small birds like that are almost always upgraded unless they're a 1 star.  If you do the river aim at the rocks, along the top edges, i found using your scope or binoc's will scare them to fly away,  open sites don't bother them.  once found i'd walk the horse up until they flew away and shoot them out of the air, easier than hitting them on the rock

  12. Horses in this game are so smart!  if you jump the train to rob it at Bacchus Station the horse will follow the train and fall off the cliff.  Don't try it with your favorite horse!  Now that i think of it that would have been a good way to get rid of my last horse before the end of chapter 6.

  13. you can find all the song birds flying around the grasslands and hills south and soutwest of Emerald Station.  Watch the sky for the small birds, they're easy to miss.  sometimes you'll scare them up from the shrubs too while riding around.

They're also all along the dakota river from where it empties into Flat Iron Lake up to the waterfall.  ride the river edge and you'll find them sitting on the rocks and fallen down trees.  random spawn, so i shoot every one i see to get a different (maybe) spawn the next time by.  Riding from the waterfall at morning to the lake, then camp at the lake and ride back to the waterfall the next morning (usually takes a full day to ride that) got me all the song birds and other birds i needed, except the owl.

I have a simple issue since I have 100% for every aingle thing in the compendium except this and the parakeets (but that's s different topic).  I cannot seemto trigger a Laramie gang ambush.  Has anyone else managed to, and if so, how?

they ambushed me near Strawberry all the time when i was trying to do the timed run from Van Horn.  usually just before lake owanjila.

I wasn't advocating using pure Dead Eye on that particular location I just mixed the posts

That being said however I find no greater enjoyment then shooting 15 enemies dead in a single second...

yeah i got it, just saying :)

i love the Lancaster repeater (third one, i may have the name wrong) and the dead eye at the oil refinery.  There's a shack on stilts on the east edge with a generator looking thing in it.  Kill a few people, hide in there and they'll all bunch up around the wagon and crates and stuff outside the shack,  you can dead eye all your ammo there if you're quick enough, then reload drink a dead eye tonic and do it again.

So I found a good place for you to practice covering killing with John, I just did Fort Mercer and it is a great run gun and hide location with only around 10:15 enemies, if you're using PS4 it's the R1 button to mark Dead Eye targets

i wouldn't use dead eye on groups like that, but that's just me, each play their own way.  It's fairly simple to get a headshot,  aim, tap the left stick up and shoot.  headshot every time unless they're moving or move when you fire.

  17. i'm spoiled  i don't change my clocks.  my microwave has never been set, my oven is 5 hours or so off from power blips lol.

I have an atomic watch that auto updates, but the alarm is too quiet to wake me up on it.  so i use my cell phone for my alarm, and it auto updates also.

  18. Good post @lumper

it was fun, lots and lots of fun, i was addicted, just shy of 18 days total playtime in story mode on my first play through.  but then i hit the burn out,  I go all out and play something non stop like this and then it takes a lot of will power after it's over to go back and do it again.

Love the game though, still think it's one of the best games ever made, just time for me to take a break and go shoot bad guys in The Division 2 tonight after work :)  I still play now an then on weekends, doubt i'll ever play online, i don't have the patience to play with the spoiled little kids (or adults with the brainpower of little kids) online anymore.

So I checked this post for the robins and I really can't wait to check annesburg as far as Oreos go if anybody's having a problem finding Orioles there are about 100,000 of them in new Austin LOL pretty much every flock of small birds is that, still hunting my Robin I've only seen one in the entire game! Lucky for me he was three star and after I shot him he was a good carcass...

you'll find robins along the banks of the dakota river, and in the open grasslands south of Emerald Station, all those rolling hills, just keep looking at the sky.  Robbins don't flock together like other birds, think the most i saw at once were 2 flying together.
