The marker is not the exclamation mark but the symbol saying that mail should be available.  However, the option to receive it isn’t available.  Eventually I will go around and one of the post offices will allow me to pick up my mail.  That being said I have made complete laps of the post offices before without being able to receive the mail.

try camping and going back.  you may have an open mission or conflict.

At start of the game I am wanted Dead or Alive in Blackwater I assume that further on in the game that will come to pass so I wonder will committing any extra crimes in that area will wash away automatically with Dead or Alive bounty or will I have to pay extra for everything I do anyways ?

    Thanks for answers ❤️

And no spoilers please iam only in CHapter 2 :PP

    Pit ❤️

Blackwater is in West Elizabeth,  Getting bounty there doesn't change the wanted status in blackwater, you're wanted dead or alive regardless.

I had the idea if i could ride through the country near Blackwater and get into New Austin i wouldn't be wanted anymore,  but no, you're Wanted Dead or Alive there also.

I believe the bones were every 5 or so.

I felt like some things took more than a day though (even when the guide specified it would only take a day).

that's what i was going off of, what the guide said.  I never really paid attention.  I'd mail the things off then go do something else until i saw the popup that i had mail waiting.

After that dry run from Van Horn to Blackwater, I literally sat there in awe for a minute because I never expected to be able to get it. Same with the last few gambler challenges.

Hitting 3 times AND winning, I thought would be virtually impossible (or at least take DAYS of trying). I literally got it within 10 hands.

Winning 3 hands in a row took me like 5 minutes.

I can't imagine I would have the same luck trying all those again. I truly feel for you...

those were easy except the hit 3 and win.  I'd repeatedly hit 3 and end up wiht 18 or 19 and sometimes 20 and lose.  i lost track of the stats i had posted on how many people died because of that by the time i finished.  My son took the click counter i was using and reset it for something he was doing.

i'm stuck on the 3 kills in 10 seconds with the throwing knife and shooting the 3 hats off peoples heads without killing them still.   Going to try them again tonight as i just finished the mission to upgrade my deadeye in chapter 4 last night before i went to bed.

How do you miss a main mission? Aren't those forced on you? I know there are optional side missions, are those required for 100%?

I only used the guide for the chapter 6 and the epilogue (regarding missions). I guess I just got lucky, I got my 100% on Sunday.

    Congrats!

I don't think i'll get 100%.  After restoring my game way back when to get the white horse back i can't get some of the challenges again.  Trying the same way i did the first time and i'm unable to complete them.

Okay I probably missed a prompt some where, but do I or do I not need to receive mail from specific post offices?  i.e. From where I mailed stuff out.  Reason I ask is because I have the pick up your mail symbol on my map.  I try multiple different post offices only for there to be no mail.

Usually have to wait a full 24hr after mailing something off, like the bones, fish, carvings, to get a return response in the mail.  With the bones i don't recall getting something back every time, might skip a few to get a reward?

If you reach that destroyed cabin up at Lake Isabella, then save your game, you can load back up, go up to the cabin, then make your way down to the water. One will usually spawn 8f you do that. If it doesn't, or it isn't 3 stars, just load back up and try again. :)

didn't think of that.  I'd go hunt for them for a bit, then go do a mission or something and head back to hunt them again a couple in-game days later.  I found them easily doing the satchel and camp upgrades.  Now that i need 2 to finish off the Trapper crafting garments/items i can't find them anywhere.

I really don't think I could have gotten all of them without the guide. Same with the dinosaur bones and rock carvings. No way in hell would I have found them all without it.

Not all no, there's no way.  I used Google for the rock carvings. I would have never found any on my own.  I thought they were statues or figurines or something.

Haven't done much with the bones yet, I have 5 maybe 6 found so far just from exploring.

  9. Used to be you could ride from lake Isabella up to Cairn lake and see a moose almost every time.  Saw many while hunting Rams up there.

Now that I need 2 moose hides for the trapper gear, there are no moose to be found.  Haven't seen one in that area in weeks.  Haven't seen one in the legendary moose area in a month or more.

Last patch break moose?  Where else can you hunt them (I'm only in chapter 4)?

  10. I keep seeing this guy yelling for Gavin all over the map now.  St. Denis, Rhodes, Strawberry, up in the forest near Butcher's Creek, etc.  I've gotten so annoyed with him yelling and carrying on that now i kill him whenever i see him, except in St. Denis.  Even went so far as to shoot him with an exploding rifle round, blew his leg off at the knee (when i hit him in the head, go figure) then wasted all my dynamite making him jump down the road.  I felt better after that, but then when i rode back into St. Denis to sell my stuff at the Trapper there, guess who is there yelling for Gavin.

My friend is acting this way. I got into an argument with him cause he was saying "Why launch the game if it has this many issues!?" and I was like, it is beta. They are allowing players to help them test things. And he argued back "That is just stupid, they get paid to test the game!"... lol

actually, they do.  they have a whole group who does nothing but test.  But even then there's no way in hell they can catch all the bugs and exploits and glitches.  They mainly just test for major issues.  Beta testing by players is by far the most effective testing for any game, but they usually do closed beta testing with a selected user base.   I think it's cool they did RDR2 as open beta.  Thins out the idiots you'd have to deal at release if they did closed beta ;)

  12. Found nothing.  I saw smoke from a campfire where one of these camps is marked, but when i got there, no camp was to be found.  I think i'm screwed finding these where i already took over their hideout in story mode.  Or maybe it's a time of day thing and i just missed it.

LOL They haven't even added on a lot of the features yet. They are allowing us to be part of the testing process chill out dude. I think you jumped the gun there and will regret selling the game.

One less we have to bother with. :)

Not that I am aware of. It is like the classic cheats from back in the day. You have to "edit" the game every time you play it. Works the same way with PC games. I wish there was a checkbox to keep them going but I guess it isn't part of the save feature.

Rockstar designed it that way.  You can't save a game with cheats enabled.

A reality in the sense of IRL like zombies killing us all?

Or within the game? I am assuming you mean within the game lol

I was fine with the first one but I am worn out on zombies. They'd have to give me something different to catch my interest. Maybe aliens or monsters.

Ditto.  So sick of zombies, they've been way over killed, give us something else.  Vampires, Weres, Aliens, whatever just no more zombies!

I've been playing RDR2 for 2 weeks. Before I dove into it I played the first one again and I remember loving the hidden treasures and understanding that with a little bit of map studying, you could find them without looking them up. Which makes me feel accomplished and proud.

RDR2 however, well I'm just now into chapter 4. I've only found 1 third of the serial killer maps. I bought another one off some stranger. To conclude these individual statements, I have no idea where any of these are.

To add on I've only found 1 dinosaur bone too and it was the one by the oil Derrick which is right next to the women you meet.

The point and question I'm trying to get across is, has anyone ever naturally found any of these treasures without looking them up?

Is there any advice you could give me?

    Is it worth it?

    Thank you.

Yes, i found all of the serial killer clues by just exploring and using the provided maps and jack hall gang treasure with just the maps.  The more you explore and become familiar with the surroundings the easier they are.  It's just a much bigger world than RDR, takes more time and observation.

Definitely worth it.  you get 1-4 gold bars for each treasure found, 10 treasures total you can get easily before the end of the game.  I finished the explorer challenge in chapter 3.

  17. depends on your play style.  Do you want to blow through the story in super easy mode with cheats activated?  Or do you want the challenge the game provides without cheats?

I agree with @Lonestar.  play through the game once without cheats and experience it.  Then go through and play it with cheats or however you want.

You don't need gold cheats, or the gold bar exploit, you get plenty of cash in the game with missions and finding the various treasures.  I'm only midway maybe through chapter 4 and have a few thousand just from missions, robbing/hunting/selling, and treasures.

We are having the same problem ..... D pad works fine in all respects but we have no journal anymore 🙁 I think it has been days since we last remember having a new journal entry .... so much so that we reloaded our oldest save and still no journal.  Please tell me it is a bug that can be fixed.

Read the other posts here,  looks like this was a change in a patch maybe.  you can open your journal to see the drawings by holding left on the d-pad,  access your notes and progress by pressing left on the D-pad.

I don't ever remember seeing the journal in my satchel,  i always used the D-pad for it.

Hi all, i have the special edition of the game, which comes with the bonus dappled black thoroughbred horse. I'm trying to figure out which level/mission it can be found in. Many thanks for any help!

Chapter 2 after you unlock the stables.  Buy it in from a stable for $0.00

  20. THey weren't there for me.  Maybe because i've cleared the hideout in the story missions?  3 camp locations are attached.  Also read in another forum there's possibly a camp near Catfish Jackson's shack.   I didn't think to look there when i was hunting panther last night.  I'll check that out today.

I discovered this accidentally a few days ago when I was bored in Van Horn.  Someone made a snide comment to me, so I manually saved, pulled out my pump action shotgun, and turned his head into a cloud of pink mist.

Imagine my surprise when I didn't accumulate a "wanted" level, just honor loss!  I went on a TEAR through that town, holed up in the derelict building after killing the hobos, and just racked up an insane body count.  Fantastic way to blow off steam.

That's why i did all the blackjack challenges there :)  i could kill everyone in the saloon and not get busted for it.  I've killed everyone in Van Horn a number of times over now, and have gone through Butcher Creek a few times also.  but they respawn so quickly there it's hard to tell if you're rekilling one of the first ones or finishing off the last in the village.
