autosave doesn't affect your manual save. Manually save then restore to that save point, not the autosave point.

Spoiler3 guys at the train station in Valentine standing together, I only ever see 2 and only one has a hat.
Read somewhere else to go to St. Denis and shot the large hats off the townsfolk, but every time I do that the dead eye Mark is on their head and I kill them.
Maybe I'm not far enough in the game yet and I'm missing something with deadeye?

Yep I got the small mouth first try also, steelhead wasn't much harder. Just didn't check the small mouth of on my map

@Taco Libre and @Jim Garrison must have been a fluke. Updated both games this evening, mine and my son's, and had no issues at all, in fact I'm playing blackjack after the update as I type this and didn't lose anything.
Maybe you didn't fully exit the game before it did the update?

I loved the first one, I love this one. They are very similar in the grind and challenges and story play.
OP must have wanted a more GTA type game.

that was my thought also. Counting the days they were locked up. I really didn't like that quest guy.

That's what happens to me, all but twice I've had to get my cougar skins when they ambush me (and they've killed me far more than i've killed them). The only 2 i've gotten that weren't ambush attacks were up north by the Legendary Moose. For some reason they like to run along the tracks to get to you on the other side of the river, guess they don't like getting wet

Nope, i was tracking a 3 star deer, shot it, the pelt was good, so it dropped a star from getting shot in the head with a rifle, which shouldn't have happened. Then after skinning when i was going to pick it up and move it to use it to attract scavengers, it was rotten.
I've seen dead animals around, never paid much attention to them, having one degrade so quickly that i killed was odd. I'm wondering if it was one of those mangy ones and i just didn't notice it was labelled mangy? never shot and harvested one of them to see what happens, but it was around that area where they run.

i can only stand to sit and play cards for like an hour at a time, maybe 90 minutes if it's going well. then i get bored and have to go do something else. I only kill the others if they do stupid stuff like taking my cards repeatedly. I tend to mostly play first base though. So i'll play for an hour or so, then go hunt, or fish, or whatever, then go back and play more later, may or may not kill them all when i leave
It keeps my honor in the red to off set the missions and stuff that give you white. And maybe i'll get some players that will play better so i can win.
I did shoot the dealer last night, but that's after playing for an hour or so and finally getting a 4 hit hand (started with 3/13 and hit it up to 19) and then the dealer hits twice and gets a 20.

You can't, I spent a few hours trying to catch the one at Owanjila, fishing from morning till noonish, then back in the evening, then off hunting through the night to come back in the morning and try again. Then i read in these forums (after doing this a number of times) that there's a glitch and check the list. This fish for me was checked off and mailed, but never X'd on the map. So far it's the only one that has done this.
If you lose one though, like die with it on your horse, it will return to the area you caught it in so you can go back and catch it again. Did that with the salmon a couple times.

Like the edge of the cliff just above Hanging Dog Ranch. Thought i'd be safe from most if i killed the lookout on the tower with an arrow. They have insanely super hearing, every O'Driscoll in the camp heard that bow string twang. Then they were shooting through the hill and boulders to hit me, but i couldn't shoot back at them.
And btw, don't believe online if you're looking for a Bull hide that there's one there. That's why i was killing them all this time.

I wouldn't tape it, just remember to tap it ever 10 minutes or so. Xbox default shut off is 15 minutes for the controller, not sure if you can change that? so every 10(ish) i'd tap the look stick to keep it active while i was waiting for something, like day to pass to so i could hunt the non-existent owls. I'd multitask, do ________ and tap the stick to keep the controller active until my other task was done, or day had passed into evening or night.
If you can change the default idle timer on the controller set it for an hour then go do something else while you rack up the miles on the train.

Yep, that's what the + is for, different colors.
i.e. you buy the work jeans, you get the option to choose a color before you purchase them, same with some boots, coats, etc. There's also a button you can use to view it on you before you buy. Those are all listed in the tooltips in the lower right corner when you're making your selections through the menus.

So weird. I'm out hunting for golden currant near fort Brennand, and I run across a 3 star deer. Dead eye and headshot with the Springfield, I go to skin it and it's 2 star. I pull the skin, I have a poor hide and deer is rotten?
I've seen 4 other dead deer in the area that are rotten, no idea what killed them.
Any idea what's going on? I'm still in chapter 3 btw if that helps.

Ok so y'all were right, while not the hardest challenges these are by far the most frustrating.
I have now played a total of (since I started keeping track just to see anyway) 318 hands since I got my first winning 3 hit hand.
Couple other stats on this just for fun -
the player before me has hit 3 or more times in one hand 16 times.
I've lost 9 hands with 3 hits in this 318 count (and climbing).
The player before me is retarded and hits, taking my low cards when he'd be safe not to hit, so I then bust on the 2nd hit but could have completed a 3 hit hand and won 5 times.
Which is probably what caused these stats lol
57 players have been shot in the forehead
24 players have been shot in the chest
13 dealers have been shot in the forehead
11 tables have been blown up by Dynamite causing 44 possible deaths (if the 3 players and dealer all died)
Arthur has died 3 times in blackjack related shootouts
Yes this is all in Van Horn, since I can't use weapons in Rhodes. And I've had better luck with the dealers in Van Horn. Wonder if it's from them knowing about their predecessors?

I've saved all of those i've seen. gave them the healing tonic each time. haven't yet tried sucking out the poison. Got a free gun and a free hat for it so far. Haven't run into the guy i saved the 3rd time (same guy as the 2nd time) to see if he'll let me put anything else on his tab at a merchant.
