I kind of want to do this now to the horse I least like in the stable just to punish him for sucking at horse life.
That sounds worse than I intended.
When i get mad at my horse i get the cheap one from the stables you buy in the mission with Hosea at the beginning of chapter 2. Then i hitch him to a tree somewhere, and toss a stick of dynamite under him to see how far he'll fly. Makes me feel better and that dead horse is returned to the stable, so you don't have to buy another one. Don't do this with any other horse, except the DLC horse, all other horses have permanent death.

Ironically enough this is the reason I never liked wearing band shirts. So many people do and yeah that is great, you are supporting a band but you are still supporting a label. People pay extra for the name. My girlfriend is always shopping that pink crap at Victoria's Secret. The quality of the clothes itself is less than that found at Walmart but you pay $45+ for a single shirt that is basically paper thin. You have to figure though for women they are not just paying to wear a brand but for vanity sizing. A size 6 woman at Walmart would be a size 2 in designer clothes. Such a stupid concept people fall for.
That's different though. Would you rather watch her wander the house just in that Pink t-shirt, or the cheaper thicker Walmart shirt....

In those cases i happily support the stupidity of buying brands lol

It makes me wonder if you would continue the game with the same timeline but in another area in the US or even in the world. Pretty cool stuff here though. I knew a lot was going on but dang you did your research.
I love history, was about the only thing i excelled at back in school, that and sleeping in English class.

I am in the epilogue and I doubt that this will trigger sooner.
Stay away from the creep in the Northwest corner of Lakay. I was on my way to catch the legendary gar.
He will invite you into his house to have something to eat. Your health meters will all show red and depleted. It sounded like a good idea at the time.
I went back in the house after you wake up by the tree, he cowered in the corner and i put all 6 rounds from Flaco's revolver in his head

OK, I tried skinning a deer again. and Arthur cuts his stomach, but then instead of "peeling" the skin off the deer, it just automatically turns into a pelt rolled up and he is holding it on his side.
Can anyone confirm when they skin a deer that he still peels the skin off ?
Or does he just cut from the neck down through his stomach, and then it turns into a pelp on his side ?
Yes the skinning animation still works. I spent 2 hours last night hunting hides for the Trapper outfits, only time the skinning animation does not work is as mentioned above.

Question - i pre ordered the Ultimate version of RDR2 but cannot find this treasure map in the old burned out jail cell. Did you have to pre-order before a set time? Would there be any other way to get it - like for a fee or?
Just thought it would be fun to have another treasure map.
Game is amazing - but I want more Arthur dlc ..lol - such a great character to play.
Same thing happened to me. I uninstalled/reinstall the content, and still can't get the map. I gave up on it.

I'd only play this if Charles is the protagonist. An aging gunfighter with no place in America due to his complex heritage; Charles relocates to Australia to live the quiet life.
However, his idyllic existence is disrupted by a visit from the son of a former associate (Marston), who asks to be schooled in the ways of an outlaw...Set it between the "end" of RDR1 and the epilogue, there's a decent enough gap there to tell a very robust story.
I'd play the hell out of that game. Let us pick whether we'd like to be the tutor or the protege, and then build in a secondary experience for the other role once the story is completed. Hell, they could let you two-man the campaign online with a friend, each playing one of the roles.
I like it, a set of missions that go together with varying checkpoints/goals towards the end goal. Mentor has to do X, Y, and z, Protoge has to do A, B, and C but he has to do A before the Mentor can do X, then wait until Y to do his B point, etc.

Tagging players or groups on the minimap who have obtained a Wanted Level for a set amount of time (and granting rewards for taking them out) would go a long way to curbing this behavior.
They had something similar in GTAO didn't they? if memory serves the griefers would get tagged with a wanted level and be a red mark on the map. You got something for killing them, and the law enforcement would also be hunting them as other players were.

Solo/group servers is what's needed. Once they release those they maybe i'll go back an try online again. I spent long enough this weekend to go through the intro, get into free roam, get killed repeatedly within 5 minutes of being in free roam, that I won't go back to play RDO. Hell i didn't even want to play offline after that. That's the first evening since RDR2 was released i quit playing out of frustration.
I got more entertainment that evening watching Outlander episodes than playing the game.

$250 for a jacket like that? No thanks. I am sure some people can afford to spend money like this but I can't and even if I did have the money, I would rather spend it on more useful things than clothing. I am fine with my cheap stuff I get from Walmart and Target lol
DItto that. Remote start for my jeep and new in dash stereo with navigation cost just barely over that jacket price, and i already have a few more jackets than i can wear lol.

It'd just be cool to play with a group of people and rob a train/stage and act like we're Billy the Kid's Gang (The Rustlers) or Alvord-Stiles Gang and go hideout for a bit, then go back on a robbing spree.
Have the Pinkertons chase you with an extended "Wanted" timer. Maybe set this in an instance separate from the actual online game, kinda like how they did raids for WoW and such. Then there could be designated hide outs that don't exist in the "real" game, and other world activities that could help/hinder your escape. This could be fun.

Ok-I thought I was able to give him those ingredients to cook with-if I understand correctly, I can actually use them to make food better when I’m at a csmpfire?
Correct, when you're at your camp, hit X (on the xbox) to craft. then on the food items where it lists Big Game, press left or right on the Dpad, then you should see like Thyme or Oregano Big Game. The different spices give you different boosts, like a gold health core for a while from Oregano, or gold Dead Eye core from Thyme when you eat it.

Exactly. SO ridiculous. I grew up on in the Atari, ColecoVision and NES days, back when gaming was you know - about gaming. This generation wants everything and nothing is ever good enough. Utterly ridiculous. These entitled gamers now days care more about fancy graphics and effects than the actual game. Never happy, always complaining.
Too true! It's almost as bad as the youtube videos when they get arrested and start yelling "I do not consent" like they have a choice lol
Intellevision was my first game machine, then my brother wanted the atari so we sold the intellivision to our neighbor. Only game system i skipped was the original xbox, i had the PS machines at that time and din't see the need for both. So glad i switched to xbox 360 when it came out after the issues i had with a PS2

Such as, Sam Bass Gang or Black Hills Bandits I would like to see the community implement actual gangs of the time period.
That could be cool. Go up against the Wild Bunch and Butch Kassidy, take over his famous train robbery. But they'd have to relocate us to Wyoming, so maybe nevermind lol.

Co-worker and I were discussing this, I thought it was pretty interesting. Going off the timeline of RDR happening in 1911, and RDR2 about 12 years previous puts RDR2 in 1899. Here's what else was happening in America, and around the world at the time.
US-
- William McKinley was president
- Queens & Staten Island merge with NYC
- Peace treaty from the Spanish-American war is ratified
- Great Blizzard happened in February, practically destroying Florida's citrus industry
- Mount Rainer National Park is established in Washington State
- Harriman starts the Alaska Expedition
- New Richmond, Wisconsin decimated by a tornado, 117 dead, over 200 others injured.
- Henry Bliss is the first automotive fatality in September, in NYC. Struck by an electic powered taxi, crushing his head and chest, as he exited a street car.
Gunslinger and outlaw activity elsewhere in the wild west -
Unforunately some of the more famous outlaws and gunslingers were dead by this time. But there were a few still raising hell along with Dutch's gang
- Wild Bill Hickok 1837-1876
- Billy the Kid 1859-1881
- John Wesley Hardin 1853 - 1895
- Wyatt Earp 1848-1929 - Earp was mostly retired and living in San Francisco at the time of RDR2, (OK Corral happened in 1881) he was mostly an investor, investing in mines in Idaho and Colorado, and a consultant for silent cowboy movies, he was hired as a bounty hunter by LAPD in 1910 as his last official police position
- Butch Cassidy 1866 - 1908 - Butch was still active during the time of RDR2. He was imprissoned in 1894, and when he was released about 18 months later in 1896, he formed the Wild Bunch gang. They robbed the Union Pacific Overland Flyer in Wyoming June 1899. He tried to get Utah to give him amnesty when Utah became a state in 1896 but was declined. He then robbed another Union Pacific train in 1900, also in Wyoming. Butch then fled to South America in 1901, where he was believed to have robbed a bank in Argentina's Rio Gallegos. His death is uncertain, following a shootout with three soldiers of the Bolivian Army and local law it's believed Butch shot his partner Longabaugh in the forehead to put him out of his misery (they had numerous gunshot wounds to the lower body) before shooting himself in the temple.
- Doc Holliday 1851-1887
- Kid Curry (Harvey Logan, a member of Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch) 1867 - 1904
Elsewhere in the world -
Australian colony leaders met to discuss creating a confederation and Canberra was named the capital of Australia.
Also in Australia, Cyclon Mahina landed in Queensland, killing over 300.
Boer War began in South Africa
Finland's resistance to Russian tsar rule starts
Terrorism (as we call it now) started in China, technically they're nationalists dubbed Boxers. Slogan Protect the country and Destroy the foreigner was shown in many streets. Majority were religious fanatics that feared the christian movement. Chinese gov. backed them.
And, of course, it's the end of the 19th century.

If Quigley can go down under... why not us?
Exactly. Australia had it's own short "wild west" not nearly as famous as America's, but it's a possibility.

I was bored hunting and went to rob the train as it passed though Bacchus Station. Not a good idea, well for the horse anyway. Stupid horse followed along side the train like it always does, right off the edge of the cliff. So if you're going to rob the train and Bacchus, bring a horse you don't care about losing

You're actually a better cook then Pearson. Only your character can craft recipes that include mint, oregano and thyme. You do this at a camp fire, going to your meat, and scrolling to the right with the D pad (except for gamey meat I believe). You can upgrade Pearson's supplies though through the ledger which has him produce better stew to grant you bonuses on health, stamina and dead eye.
Yep, also keep a few on hand as one of the camp ladies asks for spices.

What animals can you realistically kill with a knife? I have found that I get the most perfect hides/pelts when I use my lasso and knife.
Did you read the previous posts? @BropolloCreed79 has it pretty narrowed down.
On 11/29/2018 at 7:48 AM, BropolloCreed79 said:if you want to maintain pelt integrity on anything larger than a coyote, but smaller than a buffalo/grizzly, you can always lasso the animal, walk it down, and use the "kill" prompt when close enough ("O" on PS4). This will ALWAYS maintain pelt integrity from what it is when first viewed, and if the deer trinket is equipped, will more often than not elevate a 2-star pelt to a perfect pelt.

You can also improve your horse stats buy upgrading the stirrups.
Yep, there's also the horse racers that you randomly encounter that give you that last notch in the speed category if you beat them both twice i think it is.

Rockstar really should have updated the movement mechanics this time around. It's 2018 and here we are, still button mashing for a control scheme.
Most 3D games these days make use of the analog sticks to control speed.
I like having the movement continue when you aim. Makes running from bounty hunters easier to turn around and shoot them, or what i use it mostly for is bird hunting.

You can study with a scoped rifle - not ordinary weapons. Equip a scope - down on D pad - study. Normal aim with a scoped rifle is returned to by down on D pad again.
You don't need a weapon equipped to study. Target it and be close enough.
