I never understood why they wouldn't change the save slots in some way. Like have a different marker or something so you could remember which one is which. Seems silly to just make use rely on time stamps.
they just carried it over from RDR. pretty simple to figure out. saves are ordered chronologically, most recent manual save is on top. When going to load a game the autosave is always on top, then the manual saves listed in chronological order again.

You should be able to wait until daytime, or whatever time triggers that mission to show.

Gerard Butler might make a good Arthur also. And what about Hugh Jackman for Dutch?

What's in your wallet? you can't be talking about him right lmao🤣
Are you referring to Dennis Haysbert? He's the one that does the Allstate insurance commercials, he's plays the phone or whatever is causing the wreck/damage.
Capital One credit cards are the What's in your Wallet ones. that's been Samuel L Jackson and Jennifer Garner for the last what decade maybe?

I got lucky then. The new tactic I've adopted is riding about twenty feet and eagle eyeing while swinging the camera around.
I also jump off my horse the moment that red blip shows up on the map. It seems to help.
That's what i did for the panther, cept i left my horse behind. I'd crouch-walk a few steps, then eagle eye and spin around, repeat. I found if you crouch and the cougar pounces on you, you can throw it off if you're lucky. I've never been able to shake it when standing. Also the second i see the red dot on the map, i aim and hit X (square is it on PS?) to dodge. Then turn on dead eye and spin around to shoot it in the head.
After dying 6 or 7 times hunting the panther for the perfect hide for the satchel, this made hunting them much easier.
First cougar i encountered was eating a boar up in northern New Haven. Only time i've seen one there, went back to that area numerous times while trying to get hunting challenge for them finished and there was nada. I haven't been lucky enough to see a Panther attacking anything but me
my Arthur must be like medium rare prime rib for them.

Ah, okay. Now that I think of it, maybe it has to do with what time it is in your game? I had something similar happen Saint Denis. I had a marker on the map to check out a stragner. It was a woman who asks for a donation to help with something. It was approaching sundown in the game. I started off the interaction with this NPC. I was waiting for her dial to finish to use the action to give her $20. She finsihed her dial, but then I could not interact with her any further. And her icon on the map went away. The only thing that had changed was it was now becoming night. I ended up reloading things and made a B line to her to complete things before it got too late in the day.
For you, maybe try coming back at a different time?That was my thought. I was thinking it was an in-game time trigger.

I've been thinking through this, and though you could never capture the magic of RDR in a movie (maybe a series, but even then I don't know), I think it would be fun to cast actors you think could portray the characters on the big screen. If you had no budget, who would you cast?
Arthur Morgan - I was thinking Thomas Haden Church, but I believe he's a bit too old now. Maybe Josh Brolin?
John Marston - Norman Reedus
Dutch van der Linde - Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Abigail Roberts - Odeya Rush
Bill Williamson - Vincent D'Onofrio
Charles Smith - Tough one. Can't find someone I like...
Colm O'Driscoll - Michael Shannon
Hosea Matthews - Richard Jenkins
Jack Marston - Don't really care haha
Javier Escuella - Diego Luna
Josiah Trelawny - Sam Rockwell
Karen Jones - Christina Hendricks
Kieran Duffy - Caleb Landry Jones
Lenny Summers - Daniel Kaluuya
Leopold Strauss - Martin Short
Mary-Beth Gaskill - Anya Taylor-Joy
Micah Bell - Steven Ogg (I honestly thought he was the voice actor until I looked him up)
Molly O'Shea - Orla Brady
Orville Swanson - Kevin Bacon
Sadie Adler - Hard to top the voice actor as I would cast her but my other two options are Julia Garner or Emma Stone
Sean McGuire - Domhnall Gleeson
Simon Pearson - Dan Aykroyd
Susan Grimshaw - Helen Mirren
Tilly Jackson - Ruth Negga
Uncle - Jeff Bridges hahaha. Maybe Stellan Skarsgård
Good choices, I'd just change a few -
Micah = Dennis Haysbert - i can't stand him and i can't stand Micah, so perfect fit lol.
Abigail = Alexandra Daddario
Mary-Beth = MIlana Vayntrub
Kieran = Jeffrey Donovan
Sadie = Gabrielle Anwar
Lenny = Trevor Jackson
TIlly = Paige Hurd

yep it's a known issue that the patch they're releasing (soon i hope) will fix.

I can't say I do this but I know of some people who do. I mean I likely would talk to the characters if I was in a room with someone else but most of the time, I am playing by myself. I also don't laugh at things even if I find them funny in videos or on the TV. Maybe I am the strange one? lol
I would say strange. My son has moved out so i live alone now, and i still rant, and laugh, at the NPC's and tv shows. Just last night i was watching mythbusters past episodes on Hulu and was arguing with Jamie on one of their tests lol

Seems that the cap is based on how far you are in the story. Most I could get was 500 for a long time. Now I'm on chapter 4 and I can get it to 1500.
Think you're right. chapter 2 was capped at $500.

How high can you actually get a bounty? The highest I managed was $800 I think. I wanted to try and get it as high as I could but I am not creative enough to think of ways to do it. lol
@Truth's is the highest i've seen. I got up to 800 myself before dying. My favorite spot is a little shack with a pump/generator thing at the oil refinery on the east side, just south of the tracks. There's usually 3 people lounging around outside it. I take cover at the barrels just east of the shack, headshot the 2 closest together, shoot a warning shot at the 3rd to make him run. Then take cover in the shack and blast away as they come to offer themselves to my bounty. Take a shotgun with you, sometimes they glitch in the floor outside the shack and popup up inside.

ya'll should be happy, patch notes @Lonestar posted have a fix for taking cover, couple of them actually

Not yet, I just made it to chapter 4, been taking my time, mainly trapping. I'm about 98% complete with all the trapper outfits and only need 1-2 more items to complete the camp upgrades. I spend more time hunting and fishing also braking and selling horses than I do actually playing the missions LOL. I also spend a fair amount of time getting drunk at the saloon and playing poker, the things the AI people say make me laugh. The lines the stable owner south of Strawberry has are really funny!
This has always made me laugh. Trapping. you need traps to do that, we hunt

Awesome catch though. i never noticed the rocks either and i've ridden right through them

Really rockstar. No money given to us at start of online. Really gripes me that you have to grind so much for a game where it makes you purchase shark cards or whatever the cards for rdr2 be.
Like it's hard to make money in the game. Want all weapons unlocked too?

Tried this last night and died, lucky lawman just inside the border got a head shot.
Tips to it are in the Challenges thread. You'll want to have a stock of the potent horse stamina tonics, and got to the stable right before to get the golden health and stamina cores for the horse for $5. And you need a fast horse, fully bonded.

I am not sure Rockstar will give two cow craps about a petition. Most petitions issued by people these days just get laughed at. Remember that one about deporting Justin Beiber from the US? Like I said, God speed man but I am not sure you will get anywhere with this unless it is something they already planned on changing.
agreed. as the joke on my co-workers cube says - Petitions are like meetings. a waste of time for everyone, and an excuse for 1 lonely person to get attention.

I finished the bandit challenge of robbing people last night. Robbed everyone on 2 different trains to complete. Ended up with 3 gold earrings. So you can get them again.
-
Van Horn has law. I got a bounty there last night accidentally running over a pedestrian.

find out it's more convenient to ride with R1 and stop with X
i asked Rockstar support to make some setting for this, but not sure if they will...
those who think like me please help and ask them too
to show them we need this costum settings (it really simple and gamechanging , ONLY SWITCH TWO FRIKING BUTTONS!)
THANKS
that would be confusing i think. RB is easier to use to stop and backup than A is (or R1 and X on PS) Closer to the aim and shoot buttons. I think they did right keeping the buttons the same as RDR.

Well its really easy to create freejoin posse in game. Other 3 people will join pretty quick so you can do missions together pretty safe. Its a temporal posse which is disbanded after leader leaves the game.
Trolls usually don't attack groups of players 🙂
that's an idea. I want ot finish the story line single player first though. And i've only made it far enough to unlock the horse fence in chapter 3, couple more months i should be on chapter 4 lol

Think i'll hold off on online then. Was afraid it would be another griefer paradise like GTAO is if you're solo playing. I'll wait till the server options become available, if they do.

I get your point, cross draw -is- a thing, but imagine this FAR more to the right, and FAR more twisted in angle closer to the right side... And not almost upright like in the video- but alot mor facing right.
Not -impossible- to use it with the left hand, but you even need to bow a bit forward, move your left hand AAAAAALLL the way to the right, twist your wrist, keep your hand very close to your stomach while getting it out, and when you finally got the gun out from THAT position, it would take a very long way to point it out to shoot.
If they serious about the positioning on THAT holster, and doesn't want to change it, I would add a huge delay, before he can get both guns out...
While the belt Dutch uses allows for a dual quick draw.
For a secondary gun for the right hand only, the one ingame is even more convenient than the one in this video. But I think they just f***d up to add a properly positioned cross-draw holster...
if it would be more on the left, and far more upright, like in this video, it would allow for a normal time left-hand draw, compared to the quick-draw that possible from the right hand holster by right.
Anyway, I never vouched to get rid of the holster permanently, I don't even want to change it's layout.. If someone likes it, have their fun with it- I'm all in for freedom in gameplay.
But we had an option to get rid of it before the patch, then give that option back. This is the only source of my whining-i agree with @Kean_1 the more i think about this. Dual wielding pistols or revolvers is a hollywood fad and quite impractical in the real world. More likely he'd draw his main pistol from the side holster, drop it when he emptied it, draw the 2nd pistol from the front holster, empty it, then go for the rifles on his back. Or vice versa.
Holsters are situated correctly, and only 1 or 2 are ugly, like the master hunter one.

For the Bandit Challenges...
The one to rob 5 trains, you don't need to rob the whole train. In the first (baggage?) car behind the passenger cars, there are no guards, and there's a can of corn or mash or something that you can steal. Since nobody has LOS on it, nobody see's you take it. That one item is enough to be considered robbing the train. You can get off and get credit for one without any fuss whatsoever. Just take a train somewhere, stay on it, steal the can, and get off. Repeat. I had one time I got right back on the same train and stole something else, and it gave me credit for a second train robbed, but I was unable to duplicate that, so not sure how that happened.
For the hogtie and leave em on the tracks, I didn't have to wait for a train to hit them, it only says to leave them on the tracks, so I guess it's enough to set and forget.
Nice, guess i just wanted to watch the train run them over
I'll add these.

I haven't made any of these yet, but don't you have to sell the items to the Fence for him to craft them? Like with the Trapper, you sell him the hides to make the outfits.

Awesome! Added that.

Only ups the pelt if you have the trinket. Headshots (back, side, between the eyes, etc.) are the best way to get the perfect pelts.
