Hopefully. And with Smackdown moving to FOX in the fall...expect more of the same. Gotta keep all those sponsors happy. They need to let the guys/girls have more input on their characters. Nothing is organic anymore. I find myself watching NXT more than anything.

Ya.. that's why NXT is fun to watch.     Its is more organic and has less writers and Vince hovering over them at all times.

Then the NXT guys get called up to main shows and get buried or over exposed/over produced and heavily scripted..  and put into story lines that go no where.

IMO wrestling is at its best when it taps in the current culture issues and cultural stereo types.. and let wrestlers be more creative.  Instead, nowadays they are playing too safe with the main Shows and catering to much to sponsors while keeping them boxed in creatively..

No chance but you can still enjoy the game at low level and work your way up as dying has no consequence and there are only so many griefers out there. Its what I did,

What exactly is a griefer tho?.    R* games are open world Free For Alls.   A griefer seems to mean many different things to other people.  To me, a hostile player is just a player to battle.  And is always been a part of R* open world games.  The real problem is lack of private lobbies..

Im a high level.  I don't care.. I would prefer all weapons/ammo/items be locked behind money at the vert least.. Not rank.  Rank is bullsh*t.

    1 hour ago, CosmoKramer said:

. In your world a level 1 still has little chance against other players since you place such value on game experience and there are more people out there with OP

Well why should a HIGH level get the OP weapons and the low level shouldn't.  How does that make any sense.

That's like being a kid joining a football league.  And that kid ain't allowed to wear a Helmet, Shoes, Pads.. NOTHING till he spends a specific amount of hours getting his ass kicked.  Then when the finally gets enough brain damage and broken bones, now he can wear the pads and helmet and shoes..

    1 hour ago, CosmoKramer said:

My point was there will be more griefers when it doesn't take any commitment to the game to have access to all the good stuff. While you can never eradicate those people who 'just want to watch the world burn' you at least reduce their number by making them have to put some time and effort in.

A Wild West open world action game without hostile players.. Is comparable to a my little pony adventure simulator.  Would want anyone to reduce their numbers?  Griefers are needed in this game.  And so are private lobbies for players who don't like hostile player interactions.

At the same time.   Higher level griefers revel in the fact that low level players are easy pickings due to their lack of weapons and ability cards.

  3. Im still a wrestling fan. But the current WWE product is too predictable, over produced and boring.  And I don't watch it much anymore.

Hopefully AEW lights a fire under WWE"s asses.

I guess I just tend to have the outlook that people who put the time and effort into something deserve to get more in return

They do get something in return.  Money and real game experience..

    36 minutes ago, CosmoKramer said:

but having rank 1 players in free roam running around with the best horses and weaponry is just throwing the doors open to mass griefing.

If they are on an even playing field.  Obviously the person with more in game experience and a better grasp of game mechanics has the advantage.

If you put the shoe on the other foot for second.  What chance does a level 1 have against a high level griefer currently?   Hes got no chance...

Total slap in the face for the hours of grind I put in to level up so I could have the perks of a high rank player. Really getting ****ed off with this game.

I always wonder why players feel as if rank means something.

Like its not enough to have a better grasp of game mechanics and more REAL in game experience then new players.  They need to have bigger advantage when it comes to in game weapons too.   Making lower levels or newer players nothing but mindless fodder.

I don't feel like its a slap in the face at all.    Since locking things behind ranks is kind of bullsh*t.  Im all for cosmetics being rank locked.  But not weapons or abilities..  Not in a game that's mostly pvp.

  6. Well, heres how I see it.

Even if your friend is the most popular Red Dead Streamer.  Its still shot in the dark trying to land in a lobby with him in it.  I doubt they are constantly joining lobby after lobby trying to land in your lobby.

Someone is helping them either by mistake or on purpose.  Either by inviting them to come to the game OR by having one of them on their friends list.

If what you're saying is true and they're constantly finding you so easily every time you guys stream.  Id go with someone is inviting them to the game.

Or someone is friends with one of them. (Maybe not even noticing) and they are just joining any time they want.

My comment was in reply to the thread title. As time passes, more and more players will stop playing until new material is released. That is how open betas work.

I prefer closed betas as the people selected for those actually work at "fixing" the game not playing the game.

This has nothing to do with adding 'new' material.  Its the current material, lack of basics, and game direction that's the problem.

Piling more stuff on a weak foundation isn't going to bring many players back.

This seems to be a common topic on here and other places. I think it is best to handle this a few ways depending on how the other player/players are acting.

If you are just being annoyed by them, block them on your system, then go to a new server.

If they are known griefers, you want to report them in the game then block them on your system, and hop on a new server.

Theres only 3 ways of properly handling things.

    1.)  Shoot them.

    2.)  Ride away from them.

    3.)  Join a new game

Reporting them is not way of handling things.  Unless they are actually cheating and attacking you in someway.

no you dont. lmao there is 60 of them and the come at u with 5-14 players with explosive rounds. yes we defend ourselves. no they dont out kill us. it has been 6weeks of it at least 1 time a day.. it is boring and lame now. trust me it's just annoying . lmao

I really don't care if theres a 1000 of them all strapped to a chair with diapers on so they can hunt me 24/7.    It wouldn't bother me in the slightest.  I also think something else is going on here.

If these guys are joining your games and finding you so easily..  You have a rat in your group.

Hell I don't think I've ever played any game sober since 1998..

Its a clever way to keep players playing especially those incl myself who have a tendensy to trigger the dopamine system upon ranking and unlocking things aka addict behaviour. If nothing would have been locked i never would have played this alfa/beta/peta/fullonlinegame/crap at all. Its as simple as that,,,, get the player hooked and you get away with almost anything. Just my personal opinion of course

    Meh..  To each their own.

I work long days.  I smoke extremely good high quality weed.   So when I boot up and open world action game, I don't got time for that leveling sh*t.

To me its just.. Like dangling a carrot in front of my face.  I would rather punch the guy dangling the carrot and just take the damn thing instead of chasing the carrot all day long..

I HAVE A HUGE group of griefers that stream snipe a friend of mine whom streams at least 3x a week. you may be familiar with them. They go by ********. i have a FULL list on 72 names. they are insane. threatening to break your modem and such "we have a guy who specializes in vpns" like... these folks are the SCUM of xbox. ive never reached out for help like this on ANY online game ever. do not feel bad attacking any one of these people. if you dont believe me they are griefers, do your research. they do NOT lay low. that is how i found this. happy hunting. me and my friends play in peace, we never shoot first. but as i said, this club or whatever you want to call it, jumps us at least 3x a week with explosive rounds with at least 5-14 members at a time.

    Lol..

    Sorry dude, that's pretty funny.

Wish I had people who would come after me like that.

Hah ! told You so ! Lets dumb the game down every week ! Yaaaay !!!!

i just hit 89 yesterday. And was looking forward to my reward - explosive ammo. I started playing early feb and played solo grinding cash for ability cards , weapons, and now recipes for ammo and stuff. I never used any exploit and havent met anyone that did.  I tried to posse up early in the game but i noticed i xp and gain cash faster solo tbh. Im more of a lone wolf anyway like to earn stuff by myself.

This update is a slap in the face for me.

This game was dumbed down the moment it went live.  Auto aim, ability cards and gold bars are the actual dumbed down part.

In a game with bulk of the content being pvp based.  It makes zero sense to rank lock weapons/ammo.    Its simply unfair..  And ranks is just a lame way of locking things for no reason.  Since this is not a RPG/Looter type game.

This is a wild west action game where we play as outlaws.   People should not have to level up EARN the right to use weapons and ammo beyond buying the damn things.

  14. 14 minutes ago, CosmoKramer said:

Apart from the fact that you have no idea who the griefers are until they grief you and now, with more of them having explosive rounds, you'll be dead by the time you know a griefer is around.

Griefer to me means being out numbered and spawn killed into oblivion.   Players killing you is not griefing.. This is a staple of R* open world online games.

    14 minutes ago, CosmoKramer said:

And then you're at the disadvantage of spawning off your horse, with the guns you had loaded (Varmint rifle & maybe Springfield if you were hunting) and them knowing you're coming for revenge.

Total non issue.   If they kill you once and leave its not griefing.. Its a cheap shot.

Most cheap shots can be avoided by simply being aware OR killing them 1st.    Sure sh*t happens, but sooo what?  You just respawn..

    14 minutes ago, CosmoKramer said:

I disagree with the idea that anything should be available for gold rather than rank based - if I want that sort of pay-to-win crap I'll play some 'free' game on the ipad.

You can't buy money..  But it makes no sense to even have rank locked weapons/ammo.  Its unfair...  Im not a fan of gold bars, but R* wants to make money.

If I was an actual griefer..  All low levels would be nothing but fodder.   My ability cards maxed out, all weapons, full of explosive rounds.   No low level stands a chance..

  15. 4 hours ago, CosmoKramer said:

Lowering the rank requirements for items means anyone willing to pay-to-play can attain things that were out of reach to them. I'll bet there will be a higher percentage of potential griefers that have played enough to reach rank 60 than to reach rank 90, not to mention a bigger player pool to start with so good luck playing your hunting & fishing playstyle going forward, it just got made a whole lot harder for you by R*.

A friend of mine whos level 61 just bought the explosive ammo papers.   Hes already dealt with griefers with explosive ammo.. by using explosive ammo against them.

Theres two sides to this.. And always has been.  Griefers are only a real problem if they have access to weapons, items and ability cards that the players they attack don't have.  Which is a problem for RD O pvp.

The reality is there should be no rank unlocks.  It should all be money/gold based.   Ranks make no sense..

And, Explosive ammo should not be in RD O..     Among other things.

But hey.. If you're just minding your business and bunch of REAL griefers (Not just random pests) decide to attack in a group, with slippery bastard, while on a horse, flip hats for head shots.    Then Explosive ammo is the only real counter.  A full inventory of explosive ammo is 40 kills...

I've had explosive ammo for a while.  Its basically pest control ammo.  See another idiot on horse doing pony hat show.?  BOOM!

**** him, **** his hat and **** his horse all in one shot.    And from my experience, they never really want to come back.  Even if they have access to explosive ammo.

But this is also the future.  Basically everyone will be riding with explosive ammo soon.

Had to grind hard to get them all, now more griefers will get them early.

To be fair, there shouldn't be any guns/ammo/ability cards locked behind levels.    This borks the balance beyond belief and makes no sense.  And the game is too boring to grind for most people.

Also there's plenty of griefers out there with explosive ammo.. Hunting down low levels and knowing full well the low levels have no chance.

But I can tell you this much.  With more people having the explosive rounds now, this is what the future will soon look like.

Imagine one year from now.  RDR end game will be either hiding in passive 'defensive mode' OR getting blasted by exploding ammo with auto aim.

Old Red Dead Online had explosive rifles that would appear during a special hideout..  With limited amounts of ammo, that would disappear when you died.

If it was up to me.. There would be NO explosive ammo.  But if R* is going to add this BS to the game, then all players should have access to it.

Well it is a beta is it not?

Im not sure what that's supposed to mean.

When I think of a game being in beta.  I think of massive weekly updates, balance changes and fixes.

R* is dragging their feet on everything while drip feeding content and refusing to add simple features that the game really needs.

And that's just why Rockstar needs to step in, because we as players can't even agree on what the biggest problem is.

When the money glitch popped up, Rockstar stepped in pretty quickly to stop it.

When money is involved R* always labels it as a top priority.  Which is why im happy about the decaying player base, because that means less money for R*.

Which will light a fire under R*s ass and hopefully lead to the RD O getting the proper handling it deserves.

I play online now more than ever and it is mainly due to the decline, fewer players means fewer problems, it is still loaded with plenty of people I wish would get bored and move on, but it gets better everyday.

Ill be glad when they implement this hostilely system but until then, at least in a few corners of the map you can still do your thing without people distracting you from what you are trying to do.

Id like to see the game succeed but they already succeeded with the single player, if they cant get rid of all these red dots and A holes then the online part will never be fun except for the people who enjoy ruining every one else's game time, Im watching the numbers decline and loving it.

Ive only this past week had a chance to really play the online like try the pvp games for instance and those are fun, and they beg the question why are people still griefing everyone instead of joining a pvp session where killing is the objective?

Why arent they playing more and why do they find it fun just starting trouble everywhere?

Nope, just hang around town, wait for unsuspecting players then ambush them for nothing, these people are the real problem.

Griefers are not the problem.   They are the solution to the biggest problem.> Which is boredom.

R* games are known for open world PVP and general ****ery...  The best moments I've had in all R* open world games is fighting against assholes.

Without them.. whats left to do in this game?  Pick flowers?  Kill defenseless animals?

PVP game modes are not the same as free roam.  Its much more personal type of battle.. Usually against 1 or a group of friends.

The current PVP modes also have no real purpose then just shoving players into random pvp game modes..and turn into auto aim wack a mole.

People bailing on it entirely at this point is kind of dumb, I mean take a break sure, come back once a month and check it out, I do think that given the time they need this game will be great, we just need to  be patient and realize everything isnt perfect and wont be until they have had a chance to fix it, threatening them, leaving the game, etc.. isnt going to speed up time, they need time

Free aim and private lobbies is not something that requires much effort on R* side.  They've existed for over 10 years now.

If all this game has to offer is ONE lobby type.. that caters to auto aim players that dislike PVP.   Then I have no real reason to play this game.

You must not know very many people then.

I feel the player base is fluctuating, not necessarily dying/decaying.

It's an mmo whether you want to call it that or not. Maybe not traditional but still.

You believe everything you read on the internet don't ya? Everyone jumping on the doom and gloom bandwagon cuz it's the in thing to do.

Well its not a MMO tho.. Its an Action Adventure game.  (its even labeled that)  And the doom and gloom is real.  Its got nothing to do with a bandwagon.

I got more enjoyment out of the old Red Dead Multiplayer.. and it had less content. RD O beta player count peaked out in the 1st few months.

Whats R* gonna add?  New griefring counter measures, which simply means less fun for pvp players who like free roam FFA..  (Back to GTA O they go)

More CO OP missions, that are easily chewed on with auto aim?  (Boring)

More pvp modes without any options to play what you want?  No sense of TEAMS.. No sense of competition or competitive scene.  (There goes another chunk of players)

No private lobbies.. ( well theres another chunk of players)

Lack of Hardcore/Friendly lobbies (Ding.. another chunk)

That's whats chipping the player base away^...

    THIS!!!

my crew and I were trying to build an immersive experience in which we had in the previous RDR, but god Rockstar is working against us entirely. the whole "one shoot fits all" thing you mentioned is spot on. No point in interacting with any crew at all, or have structured battles, events, and so much more because of AUTO AIM, and all the BS that comes along with it. Now a lot of people have dynamite/explosive arrows and rounds that being on a horse is all you have to do to be OP.

its exhausting and i just don't even hop on anymore, sure it might not seem like a big deal to casual gamers, but my crew and I spent days in game, spent days structuring our crew, days making a website and Discord. So for me to just not give a crap about this game is actually a huge deal. No potential for actual crew immersion or interaction.

Funny how you mention decaying playe rbase and people think you're wrong because their servers are full lol, i wonder how many actual servers there are in the game and how many of them are at half capacity or less, hell i've even been on servers that only had around 8 people, most being my own crew.

    I feel your pain..

I want this game to be better..  I love Red Dead.

But this I why I made this topic.   That maybe the decaying player base will give players what they need.

Guess I still have a bit of faith left..

Yes, I realize that it's a personal preference, but I actually hate 'em and see them as nothing but bullies. Most of the people that started the game with me have  moved on because of the griefers which makes me hate them even more.

PvE servers, passive servers, offensive/defensive, whatever it takes to keep some clown from shooting me when I spawn in or out, fishing or at the butcher.

I understand..  But it really does come down to taste.

R* used to give player options to suit said taste.  RD O doesn't have any options.  Which in turn drives players away.

You should be able to play how you want.. Free of bullies.

I should be able to play with bullies..because I love the battles and I love bullies.
