While they haven't given a specific time frame on the next title update, they have provided details on what it will include. It's in my post.

I will believe it when I see it. The spectre of the first RDO and how RS neglected that game to focus entirely on GTA5 looms large in my psyche. I'm starting to feel deja vu as we head into the third month of this so called beta period.  Of course I hope I am wrong.

I apologize if this is covered elsewhere but...does anyone knoe when Beta will end? What is upcoming in terms of modes and changes? Also is there a hard date attached to any of this.

I play on PS4 feel free to add me SicilianDad002

No one knows when this beta will end. RS have not been open about what content they will add or when.

  3. I did a stranger mission which I received from the  guard at Wallace Station. The mission was a "recovery" where you search for a horse and buggy. The one at the campsite where you discover a bear standing over a dead npc. Of course the bear charges at you and you kill it.
Well I searched this npc after killing the bear and found a treasure map, "Calumet ravine."
This is the first time, I have found a treasure map doing a stranger mission. Has any other player looted a treasure map from a stranger mission?

I have looted 7 treasure maps from gang hideouts. So obviously this is not the first time I have found one.

First of all, you need to look at what GBs give you and what items that require this form of in-game currency to acquire.

In short, buying GBs will provide a shortcut to some items that can be bought with in-game cash.  Also, items locked behind GBs are all essentially cosmetic.  .....so, if you're looking for a shortcut (on those items that allow it) vs. earning the cash in the game, then maybe GBs are "worth it" to you.  If you like the cosmetic items locked behind GBs then maybe GBs are "worth it" to you.

However, the main thing to note here is that you don't need to buy GBs to play and enjoy the game.  This is not a "pay to win" model and you can still buy all the weapons you need including a lot of other content like outfits, horses, saddles, etc. without the need for GBs. In other words, no one is being suckered or cheated here.  If you think they're worth it, buy them.  .....if not, then don't

    I saw this on reddit:

Knowing that it can take 8+ hours to get a single gold bar is a bit extreme. I had no idea this was the case until I read it. I assume this is the reason why people feel the need to buy them. I personally haven't and do not plan to. I just can justify it. I will be willing to spend money on DLC though if it is good.

Do you think they (R*) did this on purpose to get people suckered into just buying the gold outright?

If your calculations are right it would take approximately 330+ hours to earn enough gold to buy the Black Arabian (42 gold). A special saddle would require another 144+ hours of grinding!!!

Simple. I want to be able to have a campsite that doesn't move around at random. I want to be able to choose the area of my campsite sapwns.

YES! Being able to choose your own location and your camp staying there until you decide differently is what I would like to see as well.

i get griefers all the time. i got ambushed by 4 players yesterday. then i have griefers sniping while i am skinning. i kill them and they leave. my advice as soon as you see them on radar get ready and keep watching for their attack. hunt in remote areas. get explosive rounds soon as you unlock them as it puts them off and they leave. i am in freeroam to grind so i will use ex rounds dynamite arrows etc because i will go to pvp if i want it.

I agree. Watching my back, when I am busy doing something, is not a strong point for me. The last three times I have been online. Players have sneaked up on me and taken me out. I usually then kill them. But I need to have eyes in the back of me head.

  7. I have killed griefers 300+ and I will just go on killing them. Now my bolt action rifle has explosive express rounds (one shot kill). The remedy for me, grind story and stranger missions till you get a very high rank.  Then you go Equaliser on their asses. Nothing more beautiful in this game then watching a griefer fly out of the saddle and dead before they hit the ground. Then you run them down and kill them again.

People moaning but in truth weve all asked for realistic games for years.we should deal with it.its the wild west after all.wasnt a nice place to be or survive in.if you dont like the lobby change lobbies.i dont wanna see a game where its not realistic.and pussy foot around people because they dont like the gameplay.i hate being griefed but its apart of the game.if i struggle solo to much and get bullied i just leave lobby.cant control how others play just because some get fun out of griefing.or if people decide to try rob my mission.its annoying but fun at same time.i dont grief anyone but of someone tries it i will come back at them.if i decide ive had enough i will leave.its male ego that gets in the way.i couldnt care less if another player is quicker or better than me.good for him.just move on and enjoy this beautiful game.its only gonna get so much better.i never played read dead one and this game has blown my mind.peoples moaning is whats negative and taking the fun out of it.it is a work of art only this art can be perfected.keep the WILD WEST  the WILD WEST.

Well I was not in the wild west, but I do not believe for a moment. That people in those days rode around killing other people at will. Because they were bored, thought it was fun or enjoyed ruining other people's experiences.  You seem to contradict yourself. You accuse other players of moaning. Then you tell them the best solution is to quit the game and join another lobby?  That is your solution? Why don't you fight back after all if killing indiscriminately is part of the game's realism. Then dying constantly is also part of the game's  realism. Your actions are ruining the game as well.
If you are being bullied then fight back and never say die. Don't run away and hide like scaredy cat. After all, are you not some badass cowboy.   GIT GUD!

Online is still in beta.  New Austin is a whole open map they can do anything (almost) they want with.  I thought it was fun to ride around and remember things from RDR.  i don't recall the small lake in the south though, is that new?

The small lake was in RDR 2010.

you're all forgetting this was set 12 years before RDR, seems to me Armadillo made a decent recovery after the cholera epidemic.

Doesn't help game play though, does it? What is the point? Is there a  DLC coming, featuring the mysterious man in black's role in what happened in Armadillo, for example.

Online it is, just wasted space. Boarded up buildings with a pall of black smoke hanging over them.

I have unlocked and bought a new saddle.  I can't see any way of moving my previously upgraded stirrups and saddlebags ("upgraded" - hah!) across from my old saddle to my new one.

Am I missing something, or do I just have to buy new ones?

Unfortunately no. You cannot swap gear bought for one saddle to another. Is this because of the so called "beta" or deliberately set up that way for RS to make money from microtransactions?

I been playing gun rush and noticed a player had the bucket helmet and chest armour ? Anybody know how to get this?

Yeah I have seen a player wearing the helmet as well not in PVP either, but in the story mission Love or Honour.

I've been playing since day one and to be honest, I don't believe I've ever been the victim of one.  First, folks can only carry 10 of them.  Second, from what I hear they are very expensive.

I would rather not see something like this in the game at all but at least it's to the point where I believe most would use it as a "last resort" vs. just for indiscriminate killing of other players.  .....and if they do, I'll wager that is pretty rare.

For me these rounds are a godsend for dealing with asshats who think it is funny griefing. I use a bolt action rifle because it has maximum damage. Cannot say the same for a revolver or repeater.  You don't need these rounds for indiscriminate killing that has been happening since day one anyways. After all you can take a player out with one shot to the head from a varmint rifle.

It cost 1000 bux for the explosive express crafting pamphlet and then you need 1 portion of animal fat for each cartridge so yeah, they are pretty expensive and time consuming gathering all the fat.

However, as mentioned earlier, if used sparingly and only in self defence, they can liven up an otherwise tedious grind or at least until something new becomes available in game.

Expensive yes but what isn't expensive to buy online. As for crafting you can only carry 10 animal fat and it is easy and quick to get. For example I go to the heartlands and shoot Canadian geese, several breeds of duck and golden pheasant.   Takes 10 mins if that, to acquire the animal fat to craft these shells.

Untrue you can hold more of a specific category in your sathchel. The kit I think but can't remember easy to check put on upgraded screenshot items then put on old satchel

Mmmm really? My upgraded saddle bag holds 10 of everything, except jewellery.  Hardly a significant upgrade. $80 is a lot of money in this game.

Should I get the buckle then reset or just reset each time I embark on a task like cop farming, reset the wanted by the law and other related awards? Does it make a difference?

Personally. I get the buckle first. Then that is out of the way and I can just focus on resetting the awards thereafter.
