I mean if we get a rodeo, may as well have cow branding! That would be hilarious. Or maybe that is just my sick sense of humor bleeding through. I like the rodeo thing though. Hope they add something like this in it.

LOL Cow branding would be awesome...maybe you could put your club's logo on your cow

The horses would just respawn like your cars did in GTA V, no?

Like once you buy or bond with the horse, you will have it for good. Maybe have a stable of them.

I would assume so.  Hopefully the bond between you and your horse would remain the same, kinda like in GTAV when you upgrade your car...the upgrades are still there when you get your replacement from Mors Mutual.

  3. I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Moved here in 2016 from a small town in Ontario, Canada called Arnprior, which is near Ottawa, Ontario.  It's okay here I guess.   Cheaper beer and gas is a bonus.

  4. PS4 - Drummerman74

Currently playing RDR on PS3 in the meantime.  PS Plus is expired for me, as it's useless until Oct. 26th since I don't have any games I play online except GTAV and I don't care for it anymore.  If anyone wants to join me for RDR on PS3 please be my guest.  Will hop back on PS4 in October.

I still remember that dude who did the series of "PLEASE Give Me A Million Dollars" videos on YouTube. He kept making them until someone actually did.

Wait....what?  lmao I never heard of that but that is ballsy!  I can't believe someone actually DID that!  I should search for that.   Speaking of Powerball, I thought this video was hysterical.....mainly because I think this dude is serious!

You mean you DIDN'T donate toward the extra $100 million to make poor Kylie Jenner the world's youngest "self-made" BILLIONAIRE?

    ????

Sorry. "Hey, give me money so I can be a billionaire" does NOT equate to being "self-made" in my book.

Sadly for her, no I couldn't afford it.  lol I could have sold my Lamborghini or one of my 5 Ferrari's, but decided against it.

It is a gross market people get sucked in to. I have never been obsessed with anyone famous to the point of enjoying anything related to reality TV or following their every word. They are viewed as normal people to me with more money and more publicity, that is it. I compare it to high school... they are the popular kids. Real world problems seldom exist to them.

I agree.   I think your life has to be pretty dull to be obsessed over some celebrity who probably doesn't even care you exist.  Everyone kisses their ass because they are celebrities.  At the end of the day,  like you said, they are just normal people, and a lot of them are probably very depressed behind all that money.  I'm not saying I wouldn't mind having some extra money, I mean I DO play the Powerball for a reason....however it wouldn't make me any better than a bum on the street if I won.  It's just money.

Anything like or resembling that Kardashian show. My sister was obsessed with that show for some years and it drove me freaking nuts.

My wife used to watch that too.  I refused to watch it and waste time I can't get back.  I can't stand any show that is simply a camera following around a family.  Especially filthy rich ones like the Krapdashians.  Most of those shows are all about them showing off and bragging.  If ANY of the Kardashians walked into my living room right now, I would not even know who they were.  And I am perfectly fine with that!  Most reality shows are scripted anyhow, or at least they embellish things just to make it over dramatic.  Blah lol

This reminds me of how I used to like to lasso/hogtie bandits who tried to hold Marston up. I'd put one tied-up on the back of their own horse, then get behind the horse and start firing my shotgun in the air.

(If it didn't rear and buck him off), the horse would take off running like crazy into the wilderness.

    Take THAT, Mr. Bandit.  ????

hahaha I used to do that too....or lasso them and put them on the railroad tracks!

Why couldn't you use passive mode?

Probably would have been a good idea  since I was really there just to mess around with the sound settings for the mic.  However I have never used passive mode, so it didn't cross my mind to use it. The same way I would never use friendly mode in RDR.

I totally understand and I really hope RDR2:O is nowhere near the same "griefer's paradise" that GTAV:O is.

Having said that, when I do play GTAV:O I only play online alone or with friends.  There are ways to fool the servers into forcing you into your own sessions.  Occasionally you might get someone who wanders in but they are usually doing the same thing and will leave you alone or simply leave.  If the session begins to fill up, I start a new one.  It's relatively rare though as most times I can play without being disturbed.  If I want to play heists or jobs with randoms, I fix my settings and join invites or create my own from the comfort of my apartment, business, etc.

If you're on PS4 and want to do some jobs, business activities, etc., in GTAV:O let me know.

Yeah, I usually play alone as well. I usually play a lot of races when I do play. Partially because of griefers partially because I couldn't find anyone decent to roll with. I really don't play it anymore to be honest, I just got on today to see if I can figure out this microphone thing. And it took me 15 minutes of changing rooms to finally find a room or session where there was a few players. The first two or three sessions I was there by myself. I'm totally willing to jump back on if I have someone to play with though! Plus, my wife is going away for a week next week, and I will be more than likely hopping onto GTAO.

  12. Realistically, I really wish I could just do this without having anything on my head LOL I know some of the headsets are quite comfortable and stuff, but I would rather not have something on my head if it's possible. I'm going to try a $15 or $20 mic next week, and worst case scenario is I'm only about $15 or $20 bucks. But I think if your TV isn't super loud, and you put the microphone closer to you, you should be okay. I seemed to be today. However, I think if I had a headset it would be better if I want crystal clear sounds when RDR2 comes out. Plus, my wife will be sleeping while I'm gaming at night so I don't want to disturb her. Happy wife, happy life!

I can't imaging that they wouldn't allow players to create their own character similar to GTAV.  .....in online mode of course.

There was already talk that they would not have the same "radar" system as GTAV:O and that it would be based on proximity instead.  How far that "net" would be cast is unknown.  I would really prefer your idea of not knowing who's who in the game world and leave it at that.  No radar and no silly markers hanging over others heads.   ....unless it's an option for friends in your group or something along those lines.  There could even be an identification system required before an enemy is marked within a set radius as a compromise.

An I.D system would be great.  Just half an hour ago I was on GTAO doing some sound and settings adjustments, and 5 mins in I already had 3 guys chasing me for no reason other than to kill me for no apparent reason.  They just happened to be near my apartment in the game, and when I pulled out, they were on me like nobody's business.  Don't get me wrong, sometimes I like to get chased, but when you don't want to, it sucks!  I really just wanted to go to the weapons store and drive around, and they made it impossible, being they were on me seconds after I pulled out of my garage.  Point is, it reminded me of how bad I would like griefing to stop, and that is pretty much why I stopped playing that game.  I did pop one of them off, so 1 out of 3 is better than nothing lol

One thing to consider is being "that guy" that has the background audio from the TV coming through their mic.  I've had some people I've played with online where they were apparently using their PS4 camera mic.  Everyone in the party could hear the audio from their TV and even our own voices which can get really annoying.  With a dedicated mic, you should be able to adjust that though since it will be next to you instead of the TV.   ....if you can find a solution that works in your scenario.

So, I made some progress! I decided to mess around with the settings.  I was able to mess around on GTAO for awhile and start chatting with some people.  I was able to hear the game AND the chat out of the tv, and was not giving off any feedback.  As a matter of fact, I asked them flat out and they all said everything was clear, and there was no background noise.  Hopefully this will work for RDR2.  My settings were as follows:

In Settings/Devices/Audio Devices/Output Devices, I chose 'TV or Amplifier (obviously) and in Settings/Sound and Screen/Audio Output Settings I chose HDMI OUT.  (It had been set to DIGITAL OUT - OPTICAL)  I think that was one major issue.

In the quick menu, under Sound Devices, the output to audio was actually set to 'Chat Audio' rather than 'All Audio'.

Anyhow, the most important setting was the microphone level.  I had it way down, and everyone could still hear me fine and it was low enough that it did not pick up any audio from the tv. The tv was up pretty loud too.  So, the only thing left for me is to find a descent headset for October, now that I know how all the settings should be.  What a relief! lol

I always thought it would be cool to have wanted posters at train stations, sheriff's offices, post offices, etc. with the current players who have bounties that other players can click to view.  Perhaps the bounties could last for a while given the assumed lack of a radar feature.  ....aside from the initial "ping" that shows their location at the time of the crime.  It could also be fun to be the one who is wanted given the additional risk of being caught if recognized.

Maybe you would only be briefly marked when you get within close proximity to people who have viewed your wanted poster?

I'm not sure if we will be able to create our own character, I know there was talk about it.  That would be a cool challenge to look at the wanted poster and see if you can find someone matching that description.  Maybe you could challenge them to a duel if you think they are the guilty party.  I think your idea of being marked only if someone is a certain distance is good....rather than being on the other side of the map and knowing exactly where they are.  This way, you have to actually go and seek them out like an actual bounty hunter.

....or they become marked for that period and a bounty set on their head for several minutes (or longer).  .....with a wanted poster displayed briefly on the screen showing the offender and amount.  :)

Hell yeah, a bounty poster would be Cool!

That was just one of many that popped up. More of an example than a suggestion.

Wireless is always better (as long as it maintains connection). I've thought about getting some wireless speakers, but I've already bought a decent surround sound set that I haven't hooked up in years...

I got nothing for that, but my searches came up with this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Gears-Out-Love-Stinks-Relief/dp/B06XCMXRJB/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1532551471&sr=8-14&keywords=let+the+wife+sleep

Unrelated, but it might come in handy! I'm sure @BropolloCreed79 could use a few of those!

OOOOH man that last link made me laugh so hard!  I tell ya my wife would appreciate that!

That's an interesting idea... You could probably find just a microphone with a 3.5mm jack to plug into the controller. I'm guessing that could work. Never really thought about that...

Edit: You can, and they're cheap.

    https://www.amazon.com/Conference-Microphone-FOKEY-Computers-Omnidirectional/dp/B075RWPHCQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1532550304&sr=8-7&keywords=3.5mm+microphone&dpID=51%2Bfy6ARSuL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Thanks! The reviews are pretty good on this product so that gives me a little more confidence in it.  I might even be able to find a wireless one to hook up via bluetooth to the PS4.   I would imagine that if it's only a mic, the sound wouldn't have a choice but to come out of the tv.  I could find a headset for times I need to be quiet.  Now, if I could only find a device that drowns out my cursing while gaming so I don't wake my wife.....lmao

I would definitely prefer not having markers as well.  It would certainly be interesting not knowing "who is who".  ....although I'll wager griefers would find a way to exploit this mechanic.  ....but if there were components in place to help mitigate those issues it might be pretty fun.

I think it would be awesome not knowing who the hell is who!   Like sitting at a table in a bar, or playing poker, not knowing if that dude (or gal) is an NPC or not!  I agree that griefers would more than likely find a way.  However on the flip side, who knows....maybe they'd be a little reluctant not knowing if that guy they shoot in the face in the middle of town for no reason is an NPC, or a Legendary Rank 50 with badass weapons!  As far as mitigating, maybe you could have something where if someone shoots you (unless it's in an organized game match), they show up on the map only for  60 seconds, to give you a chance to avenge your own death. I don't know, I'm more concerned with the markers not being there.  Griefers will always exist unfortunately!

I recently got a new version of an old set that I had. That one seems pretty cheap.

The wireless set that I got is really nice though. It really depends what set you buy.

Oh I'm definitely going wireless!  It doesn't have to be expensive...I would like something light though.  Personally, I wish I could just through a bluetooth on the coffee table like I did with the PS3.  Everything came out of the tv and if I had to be quiet, I put the wired headset on.  It picked up my voice perfectly and nobody said they couldn't hear me, it was nice not having something on my head.
