Did you move from Canada to the US or something? And that sounds like a nice way to spend the holiday. I have to put on a happy face and bite my tongue every time someone takes a "loving" shot at me as a person. Yay!
Yes, I moved from Canada last year in August. Probably moving back at some point, but for now I'm making good money and I like it here.

My wife works Christmas Eve, day, and for 3 days after. So, it will be me and my NES for 4 days of retro gaming. Dragon Warrior 3 is coming in the mail this coming week and I am super excited to play this classic RPG. I've recently been on a retro game buying binge, buying all sorts of older games on Ebay for the NES and PS one and 2. Basically going to be absorbed in video games and vegetating. All my friends and family live in Canada so until my wife gets home, it's me and the video games, and I am PERFECTLY FINE WITH THAT! hahaha

Yeah I remember this happening too. Fun times. It would just get to a point where it would stale the game and I would stay offline for a few days.
I agree. Plus the more people in your posse, the less experience points you get. It's all divided among the posse. Call me greedy but I'd rather do it on my own or with 1 or 2 other people and get more exp points.

Also does it beep/does the light come on when you try and switch it on? Also when on does it do anything if you try and press the eject button?
When I hit the power button, the blue light flashes on and off very slowly, and there is no beep. Eject button beeps though. If I hold the power button in and wait for the 2nd beep, to start in Safe Mode, it eventually will come on....only to display a msg saying 'Cannot start the PS4. Press the power button to shut off the PS4.' I did manage to get to the menu with 7 options a few times. I have installed the update, (5.01), and rebuilt the database 3 times. Works 3 or 4 times, then back to square 1. I will more than likely have to bite the bullet and pay the $100, even though I think that's ridiculous. Hopefully there is a warranty on the re-work.

I bought my PS4 in December of 2015. Recently it wouldn't turn on, and tech support 3 TIMES had me reinstall the latest update and rebuild the system. It works for a few hours, and then suddenly when I turn it on I have to do it all over again. They told me that for $100 I could ship it to them and they would fix it. I don't know if I trust them to fix it, seeing as I spent $300 on this system just about 2 years ago and it already is shot. So, I don't know if I should switch to XBOX or pay the $100 and fix my PS4. It's kind of a matter of principle as well. I shouldn't have to pay to fix a system less than 2 years old. Anyone else encountered this issue with PS4? Really torn on what to do as I have never even turned on an XBOX and don't know if I would like it.

I'm indifferent about it all because I spend most of my life indoors anymore. I think that is both a bad and a sad thing really. I am going to make a point to go outside more when it warms up again... After I beat RDR2 and play a good 5 months of it online that is... Oh... Wait... Well, maybe 2019 is my year!
lmao me too! Once this game comes out, the only sunlight I will see is when I am on my way home from work, and when my wife opens the door to go out for groceries on the weekend!

I voted solo as well. Typically with RDR I did that, only playing in groups if I happen to meet a person or two in the session that want to clear a hideout or 2. I found a lot when I played in groups, the posse would grow pretty big, and found people arguing over the headsets and then shooting each other because they disagreed about whatever. I would say more accurately if I do play in a group, no more than 4 or 5. I like playing solo because you can just go and do whatever. Plus, more exp points for clearing hideouts on your own.

Someone recently suggest 'Stranger Things' to me, so I binge watched both seasons on a weekend. I thought it was excellent. I am anxious to start Game of Thrones at some point for sure.

I don't know about you guys, but I live in Michigan. It is freaking cold here. You know what happens when it gets cold enough to snow? My hands turn into ice in and outdoors. It sucks cause I cant play games long or sit at my computer long. It just becomes painful. So yeah I hate the cold. Give me 50 degree weather 24/7.
I live in Michigan too. I moved there from Canada last year. We seem to get more snow here, but Canada (at least the area I am from) gets a lot colder. Up in Canada some days I could not open my car door. I don't really hate winter all that much, except the driving. That's my biggest reason for hating winter.

Nothing tops good ol' Mike! I never get sick of it and listen to it all year round, specially during Christmas time. Really gets the family mad. LOL
Crap....you beat me to it lol Actually, there is a video out there somewhere of this movie WITHOUT the music...actually, this movie is super spooky with the music and score taken out of it. Great work by John Carpenter, the composer and director of this cult classic!

My job requires me to get up at the crack of stupid....5am. I always fall asleep fast, around 9:30, but I never sleep more than 2 or 3 hours, then I'm awake for an hour or 2 at least. Sadly, sleeping in for me on Sat and Sun is now 8am lol Once RDR II comes out though, sleep patters will change from acceptable to irresponsible due to staying up late to play this game lol I apologize to my boss in advance for coming in like a zombie for some time once this game is released.

Personally, I was impressed and thrilled when I saw this. Making the wait even more intense for me. The alligator looked really cool and I'm hyped about the trains and the shot of the bow and arrow was awesome. Nice to see there are potentially new weapons. Above all, the graphics look amazing. I have a feeling the story line will be awesome and the wait will be worth it. COME ON SPRING!!!

I actually remember this too!
Funny thing is, I am pretty sure they set up laws now that a tat place can't do ink if they suspect you are drunk or have been drinking. They can face HUGE fines for doing it these days. Back then though, it happened all the time.
Yeah I think you're right! Your blood is thinner when you're drunk too, so talking with some guys I know that actually do tats they all say the same thing, which is it's harder to do a tat when the person has thin blood. Not sure why, as I don't have any or know much about tats, but it makes sense. I'm sure there are shady places around that will but probably hard to find lol

A trailer with a release date will satisfy me
Same here! Hopefully the trailer would show some type of gameplay, although I'm doubtful it would. I'm bummed that I'll be working and have to wait until 2:30 on Thursday to read about it lol

Being able to play. Like seriously. I am itching for it. GTA V does nothing for me anymore. I tried to play it a few weeks ago and lost interest in 20 minutes. I need something new and fresh. I think that over-all it will be better than GTA online as they had time to see what works and what doesn't.
Same here! I dropped GTA5 months ago. I have always preferred RDR to GTA. GTA was fun, but got boring after a while. RDR never got boring, I love it. Myself, I'm looking forward to seeing what aspects will be improved. For instance, the horses...countless times I've tried to get on my horse in a hurry, and as soon as I get 4 feet from behind him, he takes off another 25-30 feet and then when I get back to him, he does it again. I'm hoping the overall experience online is better, and I am super confident it will be.

I personally love this idea. Put a trap in the bushes and you never know what you'll catch. I wish they'd include the wildlife in multiplayer. I mean, I know there's hunting challenges in RDR mp, but I wish they'd include the hunting and skinning of animals as well. I can see someone skinning an animal and getting attacked from another player in order to steal the kill. This is definitely something I would try out!

I thought ammo refills worked fine in RDR Multiplayer but I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar went the same route as GTA online with RDR2 by making all clothing and gun stores in Singleplayer accessible in Online.
I do hope they keep every player's ammo and explosives capacity low, there's no danger of running out of ammo or explosives in GTA Online because you can carry a ridiculous 9,999 rounds on most guns and if your far from a gun store you can buy your ammo and explosives on the Interaction Menu.
You could carry 100 rounds in RDR Multiplayer and you got given ammo upon respawning unlike GTA Online, even if they made a ammo system similar to GTA Online in RDR2 I personally wouldn't change the ammo and explosive capacity from what players had in RDR Multiplayer as it kept people from camping for too long and stopped people spamming explosives unlike GTA Online.
Agreed on all points...it would make sense and be realistic to have to go into a shop and buy ammo, but I also like the way they did it in RDR. I also like that in RDR when you kill someone you can pick up their weapons and ammo.

Looks like a cool site. I quickly checked it out and will check it again when I have more time. You should check this one out too, it's super neat.

How are YOU preparing for release in October?

Other than constantly reading as much news etc., as possible, to get ready for the release, I have been playing the RDR GOY edition constantly. Finished the single player and playing multiplayer a lot. (although there's still some annoying glitches.) I have been waiting for this game to be announced and released for years. Since my PS4 conveniently died after 2 years, I will be buying a new one a week before the release date. I will also be treating myself to a high end mic/headset. Other than that, I know I have already planned to hibernate for the entire weekend of the 26th, with very limited sleep, lots of food delivery, and probably will be feeling too ill at least for the Monday, to go to work!
