@DylBandit and @JTeixeira Unfortunately I reinitialized my console and went to the stables only to find Ardenne's horse for sale for $140. So, like R* asked me to do, I made a video of me riding to the stables, showing the available horses, none of which were the Warhorse. Currently uploading the video to Youtube then I will send them the link and see what they say. I know what they're doing....they're asking me to do little things to kill time, hoping that I finish the game before it's resolved. In any case, I'll update the thread as soon as I get something back. More than likely tomorrow if history of this ticket repeats itself. I have a shaved head but if I had hair I would be pulling it out right now! 😡

Instead of deleting the game, try deleting the DLC files located in your add-on section of the game. If your on PlayStation you can do this buy hovering over the game without clicking on it, and then hit the down arrow until you see add ons. Delete the DLC files and reinstall, it should take a few seconds, then restart/start the game.
Do this and get back to me, let me know if it worked.
Unfortunately I've tried that three or four times now, Rockstar suggested that while communicating with me a few days ago. It didn't work. Going to initialize my PS4 today and reinstall the DLC and see if that works.

Do you have everything but the warhorse? Or the warhorse and other items?
I have everything except the war horse. I have the weapons & survival kit and the bonus outfits just not the war horse. Sorry for posting twice LOL

I have everything but the war horse... I got all the weapons & the survival kit. I have the bonus outfits too.

R* UPDATE: I just got a reply from Rockstar finally. They now want me to do a hard reset of my PS4 console... You know, the one my wife bought me brand new a week ago? Yeah that one! They want me to make a video of it including my gamertag and upload it to YouTube and then share it with them. I currently have a thoroughbred, which I have bonded up to the maximum of level four. If anyone has used this horse and the warhorse, can you tell me is it even worth it for me to go through all this garbage with Rockstar for the war horse? Because I have pretty much had enough at this point like a lot of people. What's next?... Does Rockstar want to come and sit in my living room and watch me play? Would that be enough proof? My other question is, does anyone know if I should choose restore to default settings or a full initialize? Not sure which option they want me to choose cuz they weren't specific enough.

Ok, so I literally just walked out of this thing 45 mins ago, just got home. Got tired of my wife making excuses to not go, so I went by myself. And, I was the ONLY ONE in the theater! hahaha Was kinda cool actually! I mean I've been to movies with like only 6 or 7 people in the theater before, but never by myself! Sat in the back row dead smack in the middle.
So, now, the movie...I really really enjoyed it! Now, being a fan of Michael Myers for about 35 years or so, I know how The Shape walks, and acts in every movie. Obviously the original is the best, but I thought that the actor playing him was little too robotic. He still did a great job though, better than most of the guys that played him. Was nice that he wasn't 7 ft tall and 300 lbs. I thought that the story line was very well written. And it wasn't a typical cheeseball horror plot with dumb blondes, etc. They focused on the cool kills and the story. Was very impressed. Now I have to act surprised when my wife finally gets around to saying we should go lmao I used the change jar to pay so no traceability. Shhhhhh lol 😆

Man, that really sucks MrStripper - I feel for you
Thanks...I've cooled off quite a bit since it all started. At this point it's the principal. I paid for something I didn't get. My current horse is at max bonding and might be better than this Warhorse, but I don't know because I haven't been able to use it. This has been a craptacular experience for me. Planned for Oct. 26th for months on end, only to have my PS4 hard drive crash while installing it. Tried for days to resolve, and fix the problem, then finally my wife got tired of hearing me complain about it, and bought me a new PS4 slim! (Early Xmas present SHE says, but really it's because SHE wanted to play the game too, I SAY! lol) Then this whole bonus content thing goes down, in addition to all the other frustrating bugs with this game. It is a great game, and I know the little bugs that are annoying people will be fixed at some point, but still frustrating. At this point, I am hoping MP is really really good....that would make things a little better!

I saw one thread where someone was having this issue too. I bought the ultimate edition of the game a month before release date and am well into chapter 2 with no sign of a new horse that is free or nay free guns. Also the character outfits are not there! Not happy right now.
That may have been me, not sure...I actually posted the same problem on one thread, and I currently have an open support ticket with R*. I have been communicating with them every day, and have typically been getting a reply back from them the next morning. Here's how it went down once I opened the ticket:
Day 1 - Told them about the problem, and they asked me to upload a screenshot showing that I downloaded the add-on. So, I did that.✔️
Day 2- Then they asked me to 'complete' chapter 2, (even though their support page says you just need access to the mission with the stables), but...I did as they asked anyhow, I completed Chapter 2. ✔️
Day 3 -Then they got back and asked me to clear the game cache files. Brand new PS4 slim purchased a few days before, and only this game installed, but still, I did as they asked and cleared them. ✔️
Day 4 - I told them I still had NO WAR HORSE! They then asked me for a screenshot that the day 1 patch had been installed. So, I did. ✔️
Day 5 - (This morning) Received a reply requesting a pic/scan of my receipt showing the amount, and the date of purchased. Well, I did that at 6:00 a.m this morning. ✔️ Like I mentioned before, I generally have a reply waiting for me the next day when I wake up around that time.
I am halfway through Chapter 3, so at this point I am willing to bet that I will be finished the game before this is resolved. However, I will update this thread when I get new information from R*. I don't know what looking at the receipt will do. I am thinking they will ask me to re-install and start the story mode over. I have no interest in doing that. I have invested a lot of hours in this product already. If they do, I will be telling them that I will not be doing that, and that it will more than likely be the last R* product I purchase, or at least the last time I dish out an extra amount of money for bonus material. I know, I know, they'll probably roll their eyes and laugh. Anyhow, sorry to hear you're having the same problem(s) as I am and a ton of other people. Note: All my other bonus items were available EXCEPT my war horse, so it's kind of weirld.

In my experience, anytime I put a pelt on my horse, I just donate it to the fat guy in my camp... Can't remember his name LOL is it Pearson? Yeah I think that's his name... I just donate it to the camp, and it is gone off my horse next time I go back. Donate it and it should be gone off your horse. Hope this helps.

Absolutely... When you are finished playing on your first PS4, go into saved data management in the settings, and save your game data to a USB stick . Then, put the USB stick into the second PS4, and go back into the settings, and saved data management. Copy it to that console. As long as the game is installed on your second console, it should pick up where you left off when you load the game. Hope this helps. When you want to go back to the 1st PS4 later, save the game data from the second PS4, and load it onto that PS4. The game should pick up from there.

That's how I like it as well.....takes a bit of practice but when you get the hang of it.....its much better.
I just feel you have a lot more control over where you aim. If you really think about it, it's just one extra step... For PS4 people like me, clicking on L1 where you want to shoot... Usually in the face or sometimes if I want to be a jerk, I aim for the groin LMAO I have to admit also... In close encounters, using a sawed-off shotgun and blowing off a limb is pretty damn cool hahaha

I saw a good illustration on how dead eye works over on youtube, he also shows how to get better at dueling. But I think you cant go back to auto ounce you reach level 3?
I did some more research and you definitely cannot. I actually prefer the manual painting, cuz you can choose what area of the body to hit and whatnot. And sometimes with the auto paint, it puts too many x's on your target if you don't move the aiming marker fast enough. Manual gives you a better sense of accuracy I find. But everyone's different, to each his own.

I had the same issue... I'm on PS4, and what worked for me was, holding L1 to pull up my weapon wheel, and choosing which weapon I wanted to swap with the one on the ground and then letting go of L1. Hope this helps.

For me it's been turning my horse around. For some reason I push the analog stick to the left and it moves to the right. So I start pushing to the right thinking he'll complete the turn, but then he goes back to the left. This is why I have name my horse Dummy. The other challenge I've been having is I never got my War Horse with my Ultimate Edition, and I have an open ticket with Rockstar. They keep telling me to go to the Stables then they told me to finish chapter 2 and I still don't have my War Horse. I'm pretty sure I'll be at the end of chapter 6 by the time they fix it. Way to go Rockstar! The one aspect of the game I was looking forward to was better horses and better horse mechanics... I'd rather have the mule from RDR!
-
I don't believe it's possible... I prefer manual painting, but my wife is playing too and she's not that great at it. I think people should have the option to do that. I researched it for about 20 minutes about half an hour ago, and it doesn't look like there's any way to change it back.

You essentially cannot run with any amount of speed through the woods. It's kinda like that in real life.
I'm aware of that, but what I was getting at was when you're riding in a very slow trot, you hit something and barrel over as if you were doing a hundred miles an hour. It's a little over exaggerated and unrealistic in my opinion in that sense. But obviously speeding through the forest is not a good idea

@Ebonezra thank you for posting this. This happens to me constantly. It reminds me of letting go of a steering wheel in a car, it kind of drifts right. I don't understand why doors mechanics are like that.
@Stallionsden I know what you're saying too, it's a real pain in the ass when you expect your horse to jump over a rock and he doesn't. And when you're going 1 mile an hour and your head hits a branch and you fly off as if you're doing 35 miles an hour. One of the things that was most important to me about this new game was the Improvement on horses. It's probably the worst aspect of the game in my personal opinion.

All seriousness aside, that horse kick is so funny. Now, all jokes aside, I have never punched or had my horse kick me yet, and I completed the entire game, so I definitely spent time on the game.
Brb, I'm going to try this. Wish me luck haha.
Imao.... go ahead, you'll get a real 'kick' out of it! Bazingaaaa!

I did this once to another horse and it was totally my fault. .....I realized I pressed "O" by accident. Funny as hell though.
IIRC, you can throw punches anytime there is not a weapon at the ready in your hands. ....otherwise "O" is for reloading as you know. You can basically walk up to someone, press "O" and you will throw a punch. For rodents, people on the ground, etc., it will show you will stomping them when you press that button. While on horseback, "O" will show you kicking sideways. .....to fend off predators or other riders alongside you I suppose. I never used it in any of those situations yet.
LOL once I finally figured out that pressing 'O' was the problem, I started investigating... and now that I look back and watch the video, it seems like the horse is actually kicking sideways somewhat. In any case, I also found that riding my horse and hitting the O button came in handy if you ride by an NPC you can kick them LOL and you are correct, I got into a fist fight and ended up stomping on them with the O button. Not gonna lie... That button is becoming one of my favorites now hahaha and while my wife was playing tonight, I told her to hit the O button while she was standing beside her horse... She was not overly impressed, but damn it was funny!

My horse and I were deep-sixed by bounty hunters during one of the missions. When I revived, they gave me a different horse but I just went to the stable and picked up the horse I was using during that mission before I died. Of course I had to do the bonding thing all over again. If you return to the area where your horse was killed, I don't believe it would still be there. And like @Kean_1 said, manual saves are important throughout the whole game. Hope this helps you.

If you're asked to leave, run. Exit the area as soon as possible. The longer you loiter, the more likely they will gun you down for not listening to them. I;ve noticed this with others as well that ask you to leave their property, a crime scene, etc. You can always come back for your horse if that's a trigger.
Honestly, it's not as if you have to walk on eggshells when traveling through town. Just don't act like a rowdy drunk running into folks and such. If you do bump one, "diffuse" using the dialogue if they get angry and continue to walk away.
I understand what you're saying... get out of town asap. I've never once ran through town running and bumping into people like a madman, or anything faster than a trot with my horse. Sometimes the NPCs just make a sudden turn and walk right in front of your horse and it's unavoidable. In that sense it's not really fair . Until this morning, I've never been in a situation where I was asked to leave. I just figured that getting on my horse was the best thing to do in order to leave ASAP. But the law looked at it as basically committing another crime. I was just trying to leave, and as soon as I got on my horse the cavalry showed up. And sometimes defusing or attempting to defuse a situation doesn't always work. They shoot you anyways sometimes. Like I said, now I just hitch my horse and walk through town. Much less chance of getting a ridiculous bounty on you, the towns are small, and it doesn't take long to walk through them. Haven't had a problem all day since I stuck to that strategy. The meme was just my way of being sarcastic.
-
At first I was like the guy in this meme... Now I just hitch my horse and walk through town. Much less chance of pissing off one of the townsfolk. If I do ride through I just ride slow. I also found out this morning that if you diffuse the situation, and the sheriff just asks you to leave, don't try and leave on your horse. Arthur even said "Don't worry I'm leaving, I don't want any problems." I went to get on my horse and a bunch of red dots showed up and they all killed my ass. So when they tell you to walk away, stay away from the horse LOL

I think the weapon wheel fists is meant simply to disarm yourself. If you select fists via the weapon wheel, to my knowledge, R2 doesn't enable you to punch, that is strictly circle. Your circle button may need to be cleaned as it triggers periodically while pressing triangle to dismount.
Good points. I only seem to be able to punch when confronted to do so as in a brawl or something. My PS4 is only a week old so I don't think the buttons are dirty. Just have to stay away from that circle button when I'm near my horse I guess lol

You are clearly mashing the wrong controls. Nothing more to it.
I've punched my horse ONCE and I know it was because I pressed the wrong button.
I'm not 'button mashing'...I am hitting one wrong button, there's a difference. In any case, I just stood by my horse and tried all the buttons. It's the circle button. What I'd like to know is why when I open my weapon wheel and choose the fist, I can't punch, but it works hitting the circle button standing beside my horse.

Is there a way to set a gun to always use one ammo type?
in Red Dead Redemption 2
Posted
So, I love the fact that you can purchase 3 different types of ammo for most guns. However, it seems to me that you have to switch to the ammo type every single time you pull out that weapon. I open the weapon wheel, choose Express, for instance, and once I put the gun away, I have to choose the ammo type all over again next time I pull it out. Seems inconvenient especially when you're in the middle of a shootout. Does anybody know if there's a way to permanently set the ammo type for a gun? I mean, I guess you could just use up all the regular ammo and not buy anymore, but it seems like a waste of money.
