Weird???  I've never had Arthur punch his horse whilst dismounting.  First I've come across it.

It's happened around 10 times in the last couple of days.  Happened when I was recovering Chick's Money.  Killed me that time.  In this video I had already dismounted, but all I did was click L3 to stand up, and boom!

  2. Not sure why he does this...a lot of times I simply just dismount my horse, and he punches him.  I don't get it...it's not like I open the weapon wheel and choose the fist, I just dismount and he decides to lay a right cross on my horse, who I've incidentally named 'DUMMY'.  Glitch? Nah, this is R* we're talking about! 🙄 Seriously, if anyone knows what I might be doing, feel free to let me know! Anyone else have this problem?

So far as the unfair bounties go, well... things weren't necessarily so fair in the old West.

I agree 100%.   I hate going into town for anything now.   This morning I was riding my horse through Valentine and of course some NPC  gets in the way, and although I tried to avoid them, I ended up getting a bounty for 'unarmed assault'.  Tried to surrender, and thought it was going well, until the Sheriff told me to leave....ok, so I'll leave.  Better than getting a bounty.  BUT WAIT! DO NOT leave town on your horse!!!  I was willing to leave, and my character even said "Ok, no problem", or something like that, and as soon as I got on my horse, 5 or 6 red dots show up and kill me.  And additionally, even though I died, I still had to pay the bounty.  Hate this aspect of the game.

  4. Another glitch in the horse mechanics.  More to come I'm sure.  Don't understand how hitting a little branch, or in this case a sign, at 1 mph would make me topple over like that, but anyhow.  It's what my horse does after that is the main point of this video.  Would rather use the horses from RDR.  Sure, they take off on you, and run by you and up a wall when you whistle, but at least I could go faster than 2 mph.  And when you whistle, they actually come.  My horse just takes a few steps towards me and makes me do all the work...I have to run over to him unless I want to wait 15 minutes for his lazy a$$ to get to me.

I think I may have found a workaround for getting the War Horse back. Go to Valentine go right outside the city with your horse get off of it throw a stick of dynamite underneath of it injure it if it does not die shoot it right after it's dead pick up the saddle and walk into the stable with the saddle.

At this point I will try anything....even line dancing for god sakes.

Yellow means it's fortified, and that you can use it as much as you want without it draining as long as its yellow.

And tonics don't restore your Cores, eating provisions do (that's why eating the beets improved your health Core). Tonics restore the circle around the core that drains when it's being used.

The actual meters for Health, Stamina and Dead Eye are the circles around each icon. The icons are your Cores, and how much those are filled determines how fast your meters (the circles) regenerate

It was confusing for me at first also

OK, thanks for that information! It actually makes a lot more sense now...I guess the fuller the icons are, the slower the circles regenerate....I think I got it lol In any case, I have a better understanding now.

  7. What does it mean when the Dead Eye meter has a yellow circle around it?  I am confused as I used the chewing tobacco and the circle turned yellow.  However, the center part of the icon was still red? Also, I used the Health Tonics Potent Health Care when my health meter was at half, and absolutely nothing happened.  I know I used it because I had one less  in my inventory.  But then I ate 2 beets and my health was full!?

  8. Ok, so by now most of us know that the NPC'S in this game are quite different than in the first game.  They are at times, aggressive and rude, and extra caution should be taken when interacting with them.  I have no problem with that.  I do however, hate the fact that when you are in their way, they seem to have the right of way when there isn't enough room on the road or path for them to get by.   When confronted, if you shoot them, it's a bounty.  They however, seem to be able to shoot you unfairly at times and have no consequences!!! I don't see the law running after them when they unfairly shoot you, and there is no way for any player to report a crime, if you do get away alive.  In this video, I NARROWLY escape death from a bear...while I'm skinning it however, these NPC'S show up in a wagon, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to escape death.  While I was playing, I didn't even notice the hoof of the horse come into the screen, so was confused as to what was going on. I knew something was happening when I heard them tell me to 'clear the way'....While it is showing me what I collected from killing and skinning the bear, they are threatening me, and there is nothing I can do but wait for it to finish.  When I am able to start walking away, they deep-sixed me anyways.

Probably because you're standing over a dead body.  That's what's happened to me a few times.  Now, I either get out of there quickly, or I take the body with me and avoid roads.  That usually does the trick.  And, when out in the wilderness, always, ALWAYS kill the witness too.  I've never had more than two consecutive witnesses to a crime, so it's usually a quick cleanup.  One body on my horse, one on their horse, and then you tell that horse to flee, or you ride it yourself and have your horse follow you off-road.  Dump the bodies in a ditch or in a nice shrubbery, and go about your business.

All good points....I have typically tried killing witnesses and it has saved me a few times.  I think your point about getting out of there quick is probably most important.  No more looting for $12, it isn't worth it!  Albeit, sometimes the witnesses took off and I didn't have the chance to shoot them.  Also, from now on I will be wearing my bandana anytime I am out and about, unless I go into a town.

The legal system is flawed, mostly through bad controls + hyper-sensitive NPC reactions leading to too many inadvertent crimes and bounties.  But I'm haven't found it totally broken so far.  Fortunately I have been able to play so far without racking up huge bounties or triggering outrageous escalating crimes - in my game I've mostly got away with stuff (ever more so as I become more careful and control savvy) and not had any major issues.  It might be only a matter of time, or maybe it's a differing play style, or just luck.  I'm not sure.

I agree, it is flawed quite a bit.   Someone pulls a gun on me while I'm in the middle of nowhere, so I defend myself and shoot them.  A witness always seems to be conveniently in the middle of nowhere when this happens.  Even if I stick around for 3-4 minutes after I kill the person, someone shows up and apparently witnessed it from a mile away?  How could they have POSSIBLY seen that happen?  And they automatically assume it's me. So, I get a bounty. And how come when NPC'S shoot at ME, the law doesn't show up?

  11. Well, I got a reply from Rockstar finally.....they're telling me to FINISH chapter 2 to retrieve my bonus content, the Warhorse.   Funny how on their support site, when you navigate to problems for RDR2, it says "The Warhorse will be available once you have access to the stables through story mode progression." I replied and told them I have far surpassed that point in the story line and still do not have access to that bonus item.  Pretty sure I'll never get this horse. 1965595152_bandicam2018-10-3107-47-04-066.thumb.jpg.a281a884d54bff034e6be467b1155858.jpg1584705151_bandicam2018-10-3107-43-57-036.thumb.jpg.aa4544909c3a579b4d9280e857847dff.jpg

  12. For the people like myself, who bought the Ultimate Edition, entered the code, and made it to the stable mission in Chapter 2, but DID NOT have access to the Warhorse.....I have opened a tech support ticket with Rockstar support.  They said "Not to worry, we will certainly help shed some light on this matter for you."  They then asked me to upload a screenshot showing that I had downloaded it on my console. (PS4) I am hoping that they will fix this and will update the thread when I get a response.

  13. I think the whistling will get better as time goes on with the bonding and everything. I don't play Assassin's Creed so I can't really compare it to that. All I know is that my horse only turns around 90° and then starts going the opposite direction when I try and turn it around. I'd rather have the horse from the original Red Dead Redemption. They were dumber than a bag of hammers, but at least they came when you whistled LMAO

  14. I'm not sure why, but when I whistle for my horse, he takes three to five steps and then stops. I have to keep whistling and whistling and whistling, and eventually he will take three or four more steps and then stop again.  Now I just say screw it, and run to him. Anyone else having this problem? He's a very short distance from me when I whistle for him, he's well in range. I see this is a major issue if I have to get out of somewhere in a hurry!

This is in addition to another problem I have with my horse... when I'm riding my horse, if I want to steer left I obviously push to the left with my analog stick. If I want to turn right, I push to the right. Riding the horse in a forward Direction  is no problem. However when I am at a dead stop, and just want to turn my horse around 180 degrees, for some reason I have to push the opposite direction. And even at that, he only turns 90 degrees... if I want to finish the turn the other 90 degrees, I have to push the analog stick in the opposite direction to finish the turn. What gives? This is a brand new PS4 slim that I got night so it is not the controller. Any help is appreciated!

  15. I just started playing last night myself and had the same issue on the PS4. The quick fix for me was that my screen was too wide. Go into your settings, and try making the screen a little smaller. I realize you usually do that when you first boot up your new PS4, but some games are different I find. Sometimes I have to adjust for different games. Hope this works for you hopefully it will.

  16. Well in fact, my internet is not the greatest...

I have the digital version of the ultimate edition and it took me like an hour to download the game no problem. I got really good internet though, depending on your internet it may vary, unless someone the process of your installation got slowed down and messed up.

right now it says there's around a hundred minutes left. Seems to be could be going much better and the console is not nearly as warm.  I think the game will be fine once it's finally finished.

  17. PS4 just crashed. Came home after shopping with my wife, and it's back in rest mode and won't even turn on now. Oh well. Glad to hear about the other people are enjoying the game. Hopefully I will soon too. Quite devastating to be honest.

Okay so I unplugged it, let it cool down for a few minutes plugged it back in and rebooted it. It's continuing to install now. It was kind of cramped up in my wall unit, now there's a lot more air flow around the console so maybe that will help. Fingers crossed LOL

Yeah I saw that, sorry to hear man. Glad you got out of there at least, that's the important part.

My xbox is goofy sometimes with big installs. Sometimes it will install the whole game just fine, sometimes it installs 2g and stops.

Then again, you're installing off a disc... I have no idea. Is it getting hot?

It isn't any warmer than usual. The first disc is done now, I just put in the play disc when it asked me to about 2 minutes ago. It says there's another 6 hours left. Well, back to the move I guess LOL... (Not actually laughing but you know what I mean)  but seriously, I'm just happy it's making progress and I'm sure everything will be fine. Time will tell.

  19. I started installing as soon as I got home with it last night, and the PlayStation went into rest mode after a few hours. When I woke up at it only had installed a gig so I turned it back on.  My data disc has been installing for 3 hours.  It says there's 6 hrs left.

I'm hearing and reading everywhere that it takes around 90 minutes.  Is this accurate?

Yeah, moving sucks I totally understand that, especially on the big release day!

Sorry about that, hopefully the game will change the mood!

I think the game will totally change the mood...and the fact that I get this banner/poster when they're done with it is super awesome!!! Will look great in my game room!!Screenshot_20181025-181812.thumb.png.ea7b305c1465f9d89e6c2b22cd92654c.png
