Would it be fun or useful for there to be a hired gun feature?

Instead of be invited to a random posse maybe could just be hired for Mission X.

I'm not a big fan of just teaming up with people I don't know, but wouldn't mind taking on a job on a one and done basis.

What you are describing pretty much already occurs when you make yourself available for story missions.

I've heard that about the sound. Makes me curious which is really all it takes to get me to buy something in this game.

One of the many reasons I like the Springfield rifle is it sounds like a cannon going off when fired.😁

ok.....you have nothing to worry about. But they know how to track money. If your character made ie $40k in 24hr. R* is going to call bullsh*t. Don't see why you would be concerned. I have spent way more money than you have and I am not even thinking about this. I haven't even brought a cougar to the butcher in over a week.

Oh, I'm not concerned  at all. I was just trying to point out that there is plenty to spend your money on, so I get see where some would get the temptation to exploit a glitch like that.

Well, cosmetics are certainly going to be part of it but I'm also expecting to see more content in the way of gameplay.  Unfortunately for me, the content that is PvP related (PvP game modes) is not something I tend to enjoy.

    Time will tell....

EDIT: btw, CoD MW Remastered is free this month for PS+ subscribers.  THat may give you a little something to do in the meantime and won't cost you anything.

I'm curious to see what the fishing challenge is going to be like. I'm definitely going to participate in that.

Glitch has been fixed. For awhile you couldn't even sell cougars to butcher. You can now. I think they will address players who abused this with next update. I am guessing they will roll back money on peoples account that abused this. The did this with GTA Online .  But I honestly don't know why you would have abused this to get a few thousands of dollars. What are you going to spend it on? Emotes? LOL.

I didn't exploit the glitch, but I've spent well over $10,000 in the game. I've reset the award  for spending $1000 in shops 10 times maxing it out and that doesn't include the money I've spent on upgrading ability cards. I've upgraded 5 ability cards to tier 3, bought most of the pamphlets and have bought a lot of guns and bought all the camp tent upgrades and camp fast travel. That's a crap ton of money which I got through grinding and treasure maps.

  6. Everyone was using the Evan's last night in PVP and I got smoked by it when I initiated a feud to try to complete that challenge. Personally I don't  fair too well with any of the repeaters. Headshots are a must with them and for me headshots are 50/50. Half the time I either flick the control stick too hard and shoot over their head or not enough and shot them high in the chest or in the neck. That's why I need to go with more power, like the Springfield so if I do miss, I hurt them bad.

  7. I like to use the free roam events like Dispatch Rider to complete the player kill challenges. Those things are a mad free for all kill zone and you have access to your full arsenal. I got my 5 pump action shotgun kills there last night and a few nights ago I completed the bow kills challenges by lighting a few players up with fire arrows, LOL. The carcano rifle challenge was a little too tough to complete though. That one you might have to be an ass and kill some poor unsuspecting players in free roam. I recently sniped a red dotted player with my Carcano in free roam and paid the price. She started a feud, I accepted and I got my ass handed to me. After the feud was over though we each went on our way. I wasn't  about to challenge her again

3 heron plumes per bird always felt too good to be true, to me.  Add the meat and carcasses and you could clear 20 dollars in 6-7 minutes on a continuous loop with zero risk shuttling between the swamps on the coast just north east of St Denis and the butcher.

Now, I like free  money, but it kinda felt like cheating, and certainly disproportionate risk and reward vis a vis e.g. stranger missions.

Balancing this stuff out is what a beta is all about.

Yeah, it only took killing 4 birds to fill up on plumes.

Have you died while hunting? I'm curious if we still lose the pelts on the horse.

I don't know about dying. But my posse member's horse was left at emerald station and we were about 3/4 of the way to Hamish (o'creaghs run), and his horse eventually caught up with him and it still had the pelts. I was honestly surprised, I thought it would have despawned or at least the pelts would be gone. Also when the mission ended, pelt still there and not on the ground where the horse last was.

I went through fast travel last night with a black bear pelt on my horse that I had forgotten about and it was still with me on the other end.😎

    There's some results in the

      Reveal hidden contents

    Get drunk with Lennie Mission

that, as a parent, I wouldn't want to be explaining to my 8 year old son.

The Kieran scene is pretty bad, though, as is the whole "burning bodies" thing.  It's going to depend on the parent and kid.  My kids are too young for RDR2 in ANY capacity (they're 8 and 5), so I don't even play it unless they're in bed for the night.

The lynched people hanging from the trees in Lemyone isn't ideal for kids either, imo.  Even the O'Driscolls and Mrs. Adler in the beginning might lead to questions you don't want to answer, depending on the age of you kids.

There's also the whole "guy with a pig" thing.  Not trying to sound like a prude, but depending on the kid, again, I'd be hesitant to have them stumble across that as well.

And let's not forget the incest couple.

Not sure how I feel about the balances as well either. I'll probably know more after tonight.

Seem meat was still fetching a good price as well as other bits. One other piece of good news is that I was actually paid for all the pelts in my inventory which never happened before.  .......not telling how many hundreds of dollars I lost there over time.

Sounds like carcases pay less but perhaps whole ones will do better now which makes sense to me.

I have some rich hunting ground I use to collect game of all types which is where I'll probably be tonight.

I can confirm that selling an animal without skinning it will net you the the original skinned carcass price before the update, so it's not as bad as I thought. It still does suck that you'll lose out on pelts, especially pricier pelts like cougar/panther pelts, but I can live with it.

Well aware of that. Just don't want to always be looking for it. And if you get into big gun fights often you'll burn through those 10 rounds per gun. I'm the type that likes to stay ready for anything.

Me, I'm a hoarder when it comes to crafting ingredients. As soon as I use some, which I'm always doing  since I like to craft, I'll go out and resupply my stock. A scout is always prepared!😉

As they require animal fat and only a certain few animals give that.

Animal fat really isn't all that hard to come by. You can get it from pigs, ducks and geese. All are quite plentiful in the game.

Me neither.  I fully expected that things such as this would be tweaked along the way for balance but then again, R* has after all repeatedly said that RDO would be a work in progress even before launch.  That includes weapons, the economy, etc.  I felt several of these things needed it as well.

Personally, I never liked the idea of the whole ability card thing but it is what it is.  I also felt they made players already at an advantage even more so.

I've paid money to upgrade such things and feel no loss.  The way I figure it, everyone else is in the same boat too.  These changes may have altered the balance between abilities but I'll simply adjust if I need to.

I am upset about the changes to the latest changes to the economy. I felt it required just the right amount  of grinding before to make money for higher end expenditures such as weapons, pamphlets and ability card upgrades. Now one rabbit won't even cover the daily cost of camp and stable upkeep. I'll learn to adjust. I haven't had the chance to compare prices of all animals yet, but I do know that so far fish appear to be untouched, so I'll be doing a lot more of that.

I don't think you can consider receiving "garbage" as "gifts".

Clearly they're just testing out a delivery mechanism for having players gift Gold and/or Items to one-another.

Especially when you can easily craft each of the items yourself like I can(except for the explosive slugs. Not quite high enough level yet, but soon *evil laugh*). It sucks that players currently can't share items with each other. I remember when online first started, I was playing with one of my friends and she was bitten by a snake. I wanted to give her one of my health cures to get rid if the poison, but couldn't.

Here are the details of what has been changed in regard to the Ability Cards.  In your case, the only they say has been changed with that ability was that Dead Eye drains when damage is taken:

This sort of balancing should be expected in a beta to be honest.  Some of the weapons also have been tweaked (for the better IMO).

If you are truly upset by the changes then I would encourage you to submit your feedback to R* through their feedback page:

    https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

Just a little advice.....   I would suggest you include details as to what exactly you find wrong with the ability now as simply saying it sucks won;t do any good.

....and btw, welcome to the forums.

Yeah, I don't think it's  that big of a deal. I use slow & steady in combination with eye for an eye so lost deadeye is recovered in part by getting headshots. I mainly use it when clearing enemy hideouts, so the only real difference for me is before I wouldn't care about damage against me. I would stand out in the open and absorb bullets like a sponge. It would be fine as long as I got my share of headshots and kills in. Now, to preserve a little more deadeye, I might want to think about taking cover.

Just got told I had been gifted items.  Anyone know what that's about?

Yeah, it's  2 potent snake oil, 2 potent bitters, 2 potent miracle tonic, 2 horse reviver, 2 potent horse stimulant, 8 poison arrows and 10 explosive slugs.

Edit: you pick them up from your camp lockbox or a post office.
