They just go find some other poor sap to do it to. Had a 176 and 164 come after me, pop me after they had rode by and even waved. Killed them a couple times after then went to my camp. They stood there awhile, then when some random rank 16 rode nearby, they darted after him and started on him. Went out and blasted them couple more times with dynamite arrows long enough for the lowbie to get away.

Some people have nothing better to do.

I can't  wait till I unlock dynamite arrows. Currently level 69, so I'm getting there.

Do not miss that at all.  Nor do I miss the openly racist parents yelling in the background, "coaching" their kids.

I've played a few times since their latest update with my old group and sadly none of that has changed.

Wow, I can't believe that.  I mean I can, but that's crazy!!! I've never played that game although I would love to and might pick it up sometime but that is exactly why I just mute everyone as soon as I get on now.

That is exactly what I do. If someone is being annoying, I mute them. In the case of RDR2, I just go straight into party chat, even if I'm by myself. The silence is golden.

I really should've thought of that!  Thanks!

I've got so used to her running off when I dismount in emergency situations (ambushes and the like) that tying her up in a controlled fashion never even occurred to me!

Last night I made the mistake of trying to hitch my horse next to a gator in the swamp(which I initially didn't see), before heading in to clear out a hideout. LOL, it wasn't pretty. Got bucked and my horse took off like a shot. Luckily I landed far enough away from the gator that it didn't come after me. Shot the gator, whistled for my horse to come back and all was good.😊

Me too.  I had a couple of *** turkeys strapped to my saddle last night, and two hideouts spawned in rapid succession.

My horse (reverse dapple Nokota) has a tendency to wander off so far in a firefight that she fast travels when I whistle, so I had to clear both without getting out of the saddle, except to deal with the leader.  She's fine once the bullets stop flying.

Not that 2 turkeys are enough to retire on, but I didn't want to lose them.

I always hitch my horse to a tree just outside of the hideout area before I go in to clear it out.

My wife was just telling me that someone in her circle of friends actually lets her 7 YO play Fortnite with headphones and a mic so he could play with other classmates from school.  .....unbelievable how naive some parents are.  If they only knew.

Agreed! I worked at GameStop over Christmas just as a seasonal employee, and people were coming in with eight and nine year olds buying Red Dead. Even though I explained the language was vulgar, and the online would be even worse with people on mics, they just shrugged their shoulders most of the time and bought the game anyways.  I felt like asking them if they wanted a case of beer for the kids to go with it?

It's worse with Friday the 13th. I've heard kids as young as 4 or 5 on that game squeaking away trying to talk sh*t.😑

  7. Up the coast from Saint Denis to Brandywine in Roanoke is my prime hunting spot as well as throughout Bluewater Marsh and Bayou NWA. South of Braithwaite is also good. If that side of the map is too crowded, then I'll hunt in Big Valley near Strawberry.

I read somewhere that keeping a 3* animal on your horse makes them spawn, I tried it out recently since none were spawning for me. I got 3 hideouts last night  along with 2 ambushes and got 2 maps out of it. I'm going to try again the weekend, to see if it's legit or if last night was a fluke.

There might be something to that since I always seem to have one on the back of my when it spawns. Hasn't  seemed to help with map spawns though.

Nice, thanks for the info.  I've been hinting in New Austin a lot lately, so mostly condors. I will have to venture to St Denis and  check these out. I'm attaching a map of where they spawn for everyone to use.

Do you have a map of New Austin where the cougars that @Renascent was talking about spawn around Tumbleweed? I went there last night to check it out because I never go down there, but I couldn't find them.

That is thoroughly depressing.  I imagine once I level up and get my hands on some dynamite arrows, this will be much easier to do.

It's the random luck of having them spawn for you. You have to be familiar with the spawn locations and hop around the map to them hoping that 4 of them will spawn within one in game day. Clearing them out is the easy part when they do spawn.

Bloody hell, I've only come across 3 and 1 of them disappeared as I got close to it

There an easy source of xp and a bit of cash.

I always kill the leader so lose a bit of morel though.

I've been trying to get the awards for clearing 4 gang hideouts in a single game day. I think the most I've been able to do is 3 :(

Ok, that makes sense. Are 3 plumes a guarantee? I've never paid attention to how many I got.

You'll get 3 plumes regardless of the number of stars it starts out with unless you damaged the carcass by using something more powerful than the varmint rifle or needing more than one shot to take it down with the varmint rifle.

I was riding in a river yesterday near Annesburg when the cougar in the area spawned.  Man was he salty when he couldn't get to me.  A nice little shot to the head netted me that 3* pelt, which was nice, but the ride back to an actual butcher was definitely not.

I make that trip all the time hunting for cougars in the area. I just follow the rail back down to Saint Denis being very cautious about other players in the area on the way back. I love that trip because there's also birds, gators, deer, bucks, rabbits, elk, boar and muskrats along the way.

Herons pay the most I believe, totaling out around 12 bucks. The map below should help you find them.

It's the spoonbill that gives the most (X10 feathers being like $15-18), heron being a close second.

10 spoonbill plumes are worth $19.50

    10 heron plumes = $15

    10 pelican feathers= $12

    10 crane feathers= $12

Yeah, I use Express rounds almost exclusively in my weapons.  I really haven't played around with the High Velocity ammo.

You bring up a good point about lock on....  There are a lot of aspects to the gameplay mechanics R* doesn't talk about and/or make easily known.  Seems a lot of these "little details" have to be passed on by fellow players like tribal knowledge.  I really wish they would make more of this stuff available in a tutorial, a guide, documentation ,etc.

I like to use HV ammo in my Carcano sniper rifle for hunting from a longer distance.

The cops are endless in GTA O.   And that doesn't stop anything.

Players kill themselves on purpose to stop cops from spawning in GTA O.  And cops attack players who defend themselves.  Its an endless cycle of bullsh*t.

Also..  what makes you think R* can code the game to find out whos the instigator?  It could be ONE person attacking me,  I kill him.. Then his friends start coming at me.  So now im blasting them all left and right.    Does that mean I need to let his friends shoot me 1st?

Make it so that suicide will not stop pursuit  from the law and have them ignore anyone who returns fire against the offender.

The game already essentially determines instigator when the players dot turns red as soon as an attack has been initiated.

And what if they kill all the law men?

Problem is this.  Even the NPCs can be in the wrong sometimes and instigate a fight with a player, yet the player defending themselves now has to deal with the law.

Just imagine how messed up and backwards it would be in terms of pvp in free roam.

A posse of 4 decide to attack me.  I kill them all.. now I have to deal with lawmen too?  So now I have to kill players and NPC lawmen.. and for some reason the more I defend myself the more jail time il get?

The lawmen are endless. The player will fall to them eventually. Even if they use the rooftop trick, it keeps them occupied from attacking other players and they'll eventually run out of ammo. As for your other point, they could set it up so that if you are not the instigator, you are allowed to defend yourself without repercussion from the law.

There is a flaw with this though. What if a player/posse is attempting to kill me and keeps getting killed by me on respawn. This idiot just keeps coming and coming. I kill him say 10X he kills me say once. Now I have to pay a fine for defending myself against this moron? How is that fair to me?  This happens daily with me. Guy pops me from behind with a shotty and keeps getting killed from that point forward by me. But under this system I would be penalized for self defense? That isn't right. Sorry. I'm not going to run away from a fight.

Accidentally  quoted myself. See above post.

  18. How about this for a solution? You want to kill other players fine, but make it so that doing so triggers the wanted system like killing an NPC. If a witness(player or NPC) sees you killing another player, you are reported to the law. When the law brings you down, you are placed in "jail" effectively locking you out of online play for a set time period, say a couple of minutes. The more you kill before the law gets you, the longer your "jail" time. I think that would be a more realistic punishment for murder.

Just curious about how much free Gold did you get from Rockstar this time?  I'm not bitching, but I only got 5 gold bars and I try to log in and play a couple hours a day.  Yet considering how generous they had be in the past.  It didn't seem like much this time around.  So was kind of curious if others got more or less based on time played, cause I know some are on all day while others only login for the free stuff.

Their notes said anyone who logged in to play over the weekend would get 5 gold.
