I intentionally limited how much I delved into both betas.  Reason being, I pick my copy up next Monday (3-days early for the edition, and GameStop has a "get it at 9pm the day before" policy), so I didn't want to spoil too much of what would unfold once I got into it.

What I can say, based on my limited time with it this past weekend, is that it feels good.  The play mechanics were strong, a lot of the bugs from the closed beta got cleaned up, everything was noticably smoother, and the enemy AI is markedly improved from TD1.

It's not without flaws: the menu layout has been reconfigured and had buttons reassigned, which, for TD1 vets, is mildly annoying.  The sound mix on the guns and gunfire still feels "off"--too cartoonish.  They need more bass and resonance because, at least to my ears, they sound largely fake and over-processed.  I'm also curious as to the depth of the Agent Creation suite, and how exacting it is going to be.  The "randomized" options from both betas were completely underwhelming (which, to be fair, is understandable, if the goal was to test performance issues and mechanics), and I hope they allow for greater detail than TD1.

The number if mins in the open world probably needs to be tweaked a bit.  Still feels too sparse.

I know it sounds like I'm nit-picking, but those things are small potatoes in the grand scheme of things.  It felt good overall, and I adored the story from the first one.  If that narrative is continued (and all indications are that it is) then I will be hard-pressed to allocate time to other games once I get my hands on it in a week.

100 % . as soon as I was done with tutorials and stepped into free roam I had 2 friends join my session saying the museum mission kicked there ass and needed me ! Well of course I'm going to oblige with starter weapons. We took it down but yea you will need a tight military minded bunch to be successful in this one I'm thinking. Love it so far. Robstar better get stepping or there will be no one riding horses soon ! Lol

  2. I'm a devil on the run , a six gun lover , a candle in the wind ! So the way of the outlaw has become the norm. We are being charged a bounty for player x riding up throwing explosives in our camp killing all our horses and we are not supposed to retaliate ! I lowers our flag and we have him a taste. Yep you guessed it ! Bounty on the whole posse. New radar let's grieves get within 80 yards before you can see them. Yep good luck trying to run any stranger missions as they reward grieves and punish law abiding citizens. Well guess what ?? Its outlaw time folks.  Stand up for yours and have some fun with it. I'm going all lone wolf mcquade ,texas ranger on some mofos ! Can't hunt , fish ,stranger mmissions , all gone ! We ended the night paying more money than we made. If it's supposed to be like this then F%#@$€* bring it !! Ain't nobody scared of dying I will fight till my last cold breath ! It's on !!

  3. Hey bro I may have deleted your fr by accident. Did you send me one ? If so I'll send you one.  Check out western avengers community on ps. If you still need posse to join look us up or send me message. @peppino79 we are always looking to add new recruits. We are all adult. Must be willing to wear Mic and stay with posse. Thanks

Tonight I did something I never thought I would do I reported not one player but five players.

We were in a three man posse doing mail runs 3 separate bags. Myself and one of my crew grabbed two bags and went on our way our third member for some reason went idle so the third bag sat there.

so another posse grabbed it and the fight was on. I delivered my bag and took off to intercept the opposing player. Killed him got the bag and took off.

my companion was cut down by the 3 other opposing posse members while the one I killed tried to pursue me.

I delivered the mail at Emerald Ranch and waited for the inevitable.

I took  a defensive position and waited a few seconds later this guy and now his other posse members come at me guns blazing. Using a bolt action with my new boom bullets I killed 3 of them my posse mate then came and killed the fourth member. They respawn kill us back. Under other circumstances I would be fine with this but they were successful in stoping us from turning in a bag why the hate? Lol

so anyway it went on back and forth for a bit our idle buddy came and helped us and we destroyed these guys. After getting tired of it we tried to skin out. Two of us got out we all went separate ways but our third got caught behind. They killed him twice I turned around but he said don’t bother they were coming towards me so I climbed up to the top of a ridge by the train tracks by Valentine. I readied my Carcano and waited. They turned around and went back for my buddy killed him a few more times. As all this was going on I noticed a lot of player blips suddenly popping up in Valentine. Three of the blips turned red. Not only that there was another 7 with them. Two 7 man posses. These guys called in reinforcements for 3 people.

    So I reported them.

I decided there were too many to take on  and asked my team to meet me at the top of the ridge. The army that was now in Valentine assembled in the saloon. Of course they brought Armageddon down on the town and killed everyone.

We were going to leave but I said...

    ”Who’s got dynamite?”

my two companions both had dynamite I did not. But I did have a Carcano!

so I payed down sniper fire while my two friends went down. They killed the remaining sentries outside and both threw dynamite into the saloon.

    it was glorious lol

they killed 8 of them. We regrouped outside the saloon and continued just destroying this 14 man posse (I’m sure there was some friendly fire on their side that helped too.)

    They left.

So it ended up being fun we came out with the upper hand even though we were so outnumbered but now I almost feel guilty for reporting them. Because even though they were being complete griefers We still had fun, so now I’m kind of worried about what consequences they might face.

sorry for the long read I just wanted to describe the situation in proper detail.

    thanks.

Well bud let me begin by saying , on the mission to deliver the bags , the whole premise of the game is to try and deliver the bags while others try to stop you. Its supposed to be that way. But it sounds like they went a little over board. Depending on where you reported them will make a difference. Did you rockstar report or console report?  Either way I highly doubt they will see any discipline unless multiple people have reported the same cats. Good for you all to stand your ground against overwhelming numbers ! The only punishment they would receive is temporary account ban or a sturn warning from rockstar or console. In short I wouldn't worry about it as rockstar has planned the game this way. They want us to fight. Carry on good sir and a good read it was.

Let's try to look at this from a different perspective.

The game did not come with a guide on how to play it...and I'm glad for that. I'm sure there are a lot of people who hop on and think everyone they meet is a foe. That this game is a shooter. I bet you the term 'griefer', or even the concept, would be pretty foreign to them.

For many (not all), I would think they'd regard what the OP has described as simply playing the game...trying to get better...giving it the old college try...never giving up. They don't really get it yet...especially being a lower level.

Not everyone has gone on the internet in hopes of learning how to be a better RDO member.

Obviously, there are many who also grief for sport. Those are usually much higher levels, though.

Yep yep.  The truth will set you free ! Good call on this. Lower level grieves believe that's how the game plays and higher ranked grieves are simply bullys looking to make a name in the wild West !

It makes me wonder now if most of the griefing claims are exaggerated a little by lower level players.

”You’re being griefed? And I’m sure you did nothing, right?” Lol

    Also...

I noticed last night that lawmen posse’s seem to have a quicker response time and come in greater numbers now, or was that just me? Anyone else notice this?

Yes sir ! There aim is better too ! Better not sleep on the Npcs ! Lol

Griefers come in all forms.  .....and there are more and more of them cropping up that are low level.

I've been in the same boat where we have had to continually kill a low level player simply because he would not go away.  We report them and block them.  Sometimes it's us that have to eventually leave the session.  Gets old really fast IMO as there is no challenge nor desire to continue.

This may change with the new update however.  With a bounty and NPC posses in the mix, they will likely have their hands full allowing victims to simply move on while they are stuck defending themselves from the law.  Also, I doubt many would welcome a Feud.  The darkening blip and detection won't do them any favors either as I'm sure there are those who are just waiting at the chance to take these griefers out using that new mechanic as a tool to hunt them down.

You nailed it bud ! Just waiting ! Lol

Lol so last night a friend and I were at camp getting ready to run stranger missions and an other player approached our camp and waved so we obliged and both waved back. This other player then started shooting at us from the edge of our camp ,we tried to ignore it as we were in camp. So I lowered the flag and killed him.  Hoping he would go away, he did not...

We then left and went on our mission. This other player followed us and kept trying to kill us, after repeatedly killing him I checked to see what level he was.

He was a level 5. A level freaking 5! Lol

Even though they were the aggressor I felt bad

we had to run away from this level 5 so he could live. Lol

Is this a form of reverse griefing? Lol

had to share as we were laughing our butts off about it last night.

what possesses  these players, is it ego or just plain stupidity?

I'm thinking a deadly mixture of both ! Lol

This past week it was double the XP bonus of what you would normally get by doing missions with a posse. It wasn't actually "double XP" of the whole payout of XP if that makes sense.

Next week is 20% more XP IIRC for all activities and the week after that the new update comes.

This was the first time for this sort of XP bonus as I recall but I doubt it will be the last.

I can confirm that the 20% is in effect right now. 12 xp for bird kills 17 for gator kills and so on. We also can confirm story missions are giving 20 % extra too.

I also thought that if we split into 2 posses we can choose one of the forts and play keep the fort.take it in turns to take over the fort.would be fun i reckon.have to find a fair way to split the crew up tho.
