I've found animal fat by Owanjila up to Big Valley,that's a good spot too. During the day you can find ducks, geese, beavers, & wild boars. At night I've only seen beavers & boars spawn.
I like Flatneck station & Dakota River too.

Yea they got my money for large saddle bags but doesn't hold not 1 thing more than small. Hope they amend that along with satchel.

100 % bud ! I am guilty of using express in there but it's short lived and we have to come out after 4 or 5 matches and refill.

Just seems too expensive for a PvP matchSo what's y'alls take on this ? It seems to be happening more and more. It must be acceptable to Use them as rockstar allows them in there. I don't use em myself as I keep those rounds for grieve battles. I have accidentally used fire arrows before but only because they were loaded when I went in. Quickly change em out. Just seems to expensive for a PvP match. Thoughts ?

For now Best Way for me to farm FAT are pigs in farms (when i kill them i Just change session and most of the times they respawn.
Also along the Dakota River there are a lot of ducks at the banks and they respawn really fast.
I hate the sounds of boars but KOS them everytime 😉
Yep love those spots on the river. Very good for ducks. Just south of Blackwater those geese are 8 to 10 sitting in streams everytime I go by there. Usually get at least 5 before they fly off. How awesome it would be if traders can sell fat. I'll be in line ! Lol

I'm with you ! Fire arrows take fat too so 8 fire arrows , 10 revolver , 10 pistol , 10 repeater , 10 rifle , and 10 pieces in satchel for reserve. 58 pieces of fat is a lot of hunting ! Lol we should be able to store 20 in satchel.

This is a 3 part story mission , 1st go north and take out the camp , 2nd go in to van horn and whipe them out , now set a waypoint in to the marsh and hunt till your full. 3rd go meet Marshall Davies for the final part of story and rap up. Easy breezy !

Just a tip for all you good cowfolk out there upholding the law ! The story mission , Highly illegal and highly moral is what you want to run. Just before dawn boars roam unchecked , after dawn ducks and geese fly in abundance North of the wet lands. Restock yourself and let's bring law and order back to the streets of Blackwater ! Enjoy !

Are we talking PvP or free roam? Nwo will block a headshot in free roam but not in PvP it seems. And as kean said if in free roam and they have defensive on it may be next to impossible for a one shot kill.

I wouldn't steal a deer off someone's horse (as opposed to picking one up if I found it laying unclaimed on the ground, as I mentioned - I'd do that if there were no players in the vicinity, and it seemed to just be going to waste). However, I do think that someone stealing a deer, or whatever, is a fairly 'legitimate' activity for an outlaw. I've caught a couple of people doing it to me in the past, and I have, equally legitimately, shot their face off. In the absence of being able to do proper 'hold ups', (trains, stores, stage coaches etc) stealing people's carcasses is virtually the only legitimate paying outlaw work a player can do in free roam. I quite like the fact that they're going to the effort. Game is so plentiful and easy to hunt, it's clearly more efficient to go and get your own damn deer, rather than trying to take mine and getting a bullet in your brain for your trouble.
I do not commend people for doing it, but neither do I condemn them in the same way that I do for random killing. Stealing someone's stuff because its worth money to you is not the same level of d!ck move as shooting someone for no reason and no profit.
Expect to get shot for it, though.
Messing with someone's stuff - horse or cargo - should count as a hostile act, and turn the offender red, but I don't think it does.
I honestly agree with you @Harlock1796 we do need outlaws in this game or there would be no fun for honest cowboys. We gotta have villains to chase and bring to justice or it would be quite dull ! Hope the bounty Hunter role let's us chase and capture villains as it would really up the excitement !! Lol here's to Hopeing. Good luck out there my fellow gunslinger !

I think stealing someone else's stuff is a legitimate part of the game. I am definitely not in the camp of "it's the Wild West, so shooting random strangers in the back of the head is all part of life's rich tapestry" that's BS, but it is the Wild West, so helping yourself to a carcass off a poorly supervised horse seems like a legitimate activity, for an outlaw type.
Keep your friends close, but your heavily laden horse closer, I think the saying goes.
So thievery is ok in your eyes ?? Yep it's an outlaw move and should be delt with as such ! Outlaws are part of the game and so is honest cowboys ! Outlaws end up on the business end of a rope and they will ! We never shoot first but stealing from us won't end well for you. Get your own deer.

They are trying to provoke you in to shooting first ! They can't use the excuse they couldn't find those animals. Deliberate attempt to get you to shoot first so they can grieve you with no bounty !! I myself would leave them hog tied on the trail for there thievery ! But that's just me.

I agree with dylbandit ! At night in some areas the fog roles in and is just begging for zombies to come out of the mist. Imagine a full posse being attacked from all sides from the undead ! I'll buy it !! That ancient tomahawk would be 👑 !

Very well done sir ! Way to hang in there. I started when beta released. Hit 176 last night. What a show it has been. Sitting on 12k cash and 137 bars. Have everything as you mentioned and now I can relax and just enjoy this beautiful game ! It's only gonna get better from here. Tip of the hat to new folk just starting. You will be spared the hell a lot of us went through.
