I saw a video from "Destroyed by Grief". Where can I find this new story mission?

Just south west of Blackwater. Also keep an eye out on your lockbox at camp. If it's gold you have a letter from Harley.  That might kick start em for ya

Thanks @Chris Arbaugh for sending me the reminder.

btw, here is some information on the patches made today as well:

    97f8e1318b71af6287c45e2661bc2590c6cdb2e6

In addition to the new Red Dead Online gameplay and features released this morning, today’s title update includes over 400 bug fixes, balances and improvements. We are continually working to address bugs and improve the overall experience, among today’s hundreds of fixes are the following adjustments:

    • Issues that caused a player’s Horse Bonding level to be reset after completing certain missions in Red Dead Online or display incorrectly on some menus when at maximum level, have been fixed.

    • Multiple issues that prevented Free Roam Missions from launching correctly in some Red Dead Online sessions or failed to launch correctly for every member of a Posse, have been fixed.

    • An issue that caused the ‘Stubble’ facial hair option and some other Barber Shop items to disappear from your player character after purchasing and left them unable to be reapplied, has been corrected.

    • Fixed an issue that caused some animal and human corpses to disappear before the player had the chance to loot/skin/collect them while in a Red Dead Online session.

    • A new HDR Calibration menu has been added. Players can now switch between the existing ‘Cinematic HDR’ and new ‘Game HDR’ styles, plus a new option has been added to allow manual adjustment of Peak Brightness values to match your display.

Many of today’s fixes were identified thanks to player feedback and we appreciate you helping us squash issues. You can check out the complete list of notes at the Rockstar Support page.

You fricken rock @Kean_1 thanks so much for this ! I'm at work bout to have an anxiety attack ! I'm a mess lmao

I like reading what people are using, helps me decide what's best for me. Currently I use:

Hands: Duel Schofields  with split point for gang hideouts and general cowboy fun

Shoulder: Repeating Shotgun with slugs bc why not. Good for bringing anything down

Back: Bow with all ammo types. Great for hunting...

I do 99% free roam, not into PVP

This seems to be my go to, but all weapons have their place/perks

Litchfield , dual sawn offs , bow for free roam. Lancaster , dual mauzers , rare double barrel for PvP. Love em all !

  4. Awesome thread guys ! Heard of this last night saying it will exit beta no later than end of June but could be sooner. There is a cat that posted a video on the subject named pineapple. Says we could see as many as 30 different story mission's before it's all said and done. I'm so stoked !! Hope this games lives FOREVER ! I feel right at home in the ole West ! I've got a plan ! Lol

After GTAV Online came out, I quit a month after playing. Same with RDR2 Online. It's quite simple really. Griefing = No skills. Brainless CHILDISH Gameplay. This is the #1 Reason why RDR2 Online Beta was a massive FAIL. Mark my words. Rockstar online gaming will continue to go downhill until they add an OPTION for gamers that don't childish brainless garbage. The solution is SIMPLE and even little kid like games have this mechanic in their games. ENEMY PLAYER BLIPS OFF + Auto Aim off. Imagine a World of GTAV and RDR2 online with this system in place. 1)Would be an option so Griefers can keep their servers but I doubt anyone would play there. 2) add a new dimension of skills to the Gameplay tactics: Stealth, strategy, etc. 3) Proximity chat or something similar would be ideal and eliminate the idea of ghost towns these Griefers cry about. 4) Many online players would come back, stay on, or enjoy the game alot more.   It really is that easy to fix and would give the Rockstar online community a better online rep. Its considered the most toxic online experience due to Rockstars inability to adjust to online gaming.  Till than, guess me and thousands of others will never see ya online. Enjoy the brainless Gameplay online.

    You take care now !

Yes, I suspect that this is what the OP is talking about.

I've never tried it, but am I right in thinking that paint it black also works against SB?

Sure does. Gotta wave the gun back and forth over target but it will paint em

    • Thanks 1
  8. I think he is talking about PvP modes = plunder , up in smoke , spoiles of war ! Sb can make it  difficult to counter runners using it. I myself Will guard camp after seeing someone running it and just wait for the tackle and head smash. It in no way ruins anything though !

Looking for possee that plays together often. I play just about every day and would like somebody to play and experience upcoming content with. I was on xbox since day 1 of release but switched to ps4 just a bit ago with my gf but she stopped playing. I'm level 46 for now, prefer mostly free roaming, wouldnt consider myself as a threat to other players, unless provoked. But I do have a revenge issue. It's all good.

Whether it be pvp, stranger/story missions while waiting for the last 30 sec.. I'm down. Message me on psn or add me.

    This is the problem.

I know a lot of people (myself included) who, just like CosmoKramer, it sounds like, run those two cards specifically to give a chance against the 'random headshotter' (to avoid the term 'griefer').  In fact, the only passive protection you have against those players is Never Without One.

Bad people (AKA A$$hats) use the card because it is, all ways up, the most powerful card in the game.

I really don't think it's sustainable to argue that NWO use = A$$hat player, unless you're arguing that everyone's an A$$hat.

Maybe your actions are self fulfilling?  If someone randomly headshots me, and knocks my hat off, I will then go after them until they're dead (usually several times, to make a point).  So, we have the following scenario:

    - I ride somewhere in your vicinity with my usual card loadout.

    - you see S&S and NWO, and despite me making no hostile move, you decide I must be an A$$hat, and shoot me.

    - I take exception to being attacked in a random and unprovoked fashion, and come after you, guns blazing.

    - You feel justified in shooting me, because I'm obviously an A$$hat, you just managed to get your retaliation in first.

    - I feel justified in returning fire, and in using NWO, because it protects me from (apparent) A$$hats like you who will randomly headshot me while I'm minding my own business.

    That's no way to live.

I must take @Harlock1796 side on this. We usually have at least 2 or 3 posses running at any given time and most if not all have nwo equipped to prevent the one shot grieve kill. Our main rule is the Angels will never ever fire the first shot.  If an Angel dies by hostile guns we don't care what your motive is or your fears are your going dirt napping my friend. Believe me !! We bother no one ever ! And again we usually have have at least 14 to 21 guns riding at any given time. Go ahead and shoot one of us because we have nwo. You will receive no mercy my fellow gunslinger. Happy trails !

It use to happen every now and than, now it seems to happen way to often. Are players really that soft? It is truly pathetic. As far as you know I could have gotten to my level via shooting cops in St Denis or just by hunting. It is truly annoying that you get voted out immediately when you enter a lobby or when you get MVP or top 3 in a match.  Why isn't there a veto option ? Why should I have to go back to free roam and try to find another lobby? If you are that much of a "kitty", maybe YOU should leave to find another lobby. I have voiced my opinion to R* several times already. This kicking feature shouldn't even be an option.

So you are being kicked plum out of the game mode ? We go in as posse and sometimes we will kick a player to get a member on same team but it always just moves the one kicked to the other team. Never out of the lobby. 100 % though folk get scured seeing high levels.  163 myself

Funny you say that, I dont see any benefit in saddles at all, I bought from the "Special saddles" list, which I think are the ones from single player that you unlocked through the trapper if I am not mistaken, I had the cougar one with the cool handle on it, or the snakeskin one also, I cant see any in there that are any better in stats, but to be honest I didnt really look very hard, as I was happy with the one I bought and figured it was like the single player portion of the game, you didnt need to build a saddle or upgrade one if you had one of the "special" saddles.

Again if we disagree thats ok, lol we dont have to agree on things, you define a griefer differently than I do, that doesnt make it right, its just a difference.

To me a griefer is anyone who goes out of their way to bring you grief, or ruin your time in game, anything at all, if you dont leave me alone, if you decide to engage me and I didnt invite it, your a griefer to me.

If you look at black Arabian stats and then again with panther saddle you will see the difference. I can ride almost all the way a cross the map and that horses cores barely move. It is the best in game mount available. Very fast , very responsive , turns on a dime and is just beautiful. Well worth the price ! Thanks @Ozy8753

The whole "griefer" term is subjective but once explained what it means to an individual, it's really moot point because then it's just a label they use to describe those they feel are ruining their fun.

Either way, even R* essentially makes the correlation between griefers and those that indiscriminately kill.  To me, anyone who willingly seeks out and kills another player without provocation is griefing to some extent.

Engagements through missions, player assassinations and the like are a totally different story IMO as they are sanctioned events that carry no penalties. Those I wouldn't call griefers as they are basically invited to try and kill, stop or steal from the player(s) performing the mission.  Those joining these types of missions should understand and expect that.  You don't join a PvP event and expect that people won't try to kill you.

100% we want to be attacked when running stranger missions. Kinda dull otherwise. Most that do attack understand the game and when the mission is over they ride away. Easy breezy ! This game is a masterpiece that just needs a little cleaning up. Love the blip adjustments they have made to simplify it a lot. Reds could be red because they are defending themselves or simply ran in to npc on the trail and crashed horses. Most of your hostiles are low level and usually blue. Youngens will be Youngens !

I am finding many new players, lower ranked players, are starting off and experimenting and often are aggressive.

So when you see blue blips, and they arent obvious until they are upon you,  when they act aggressively it makes it tough, the whole point of blue vs red was to protect the blue non aggressive blips from the more aggressive red blips.

I dont know why they arent upgraded to red as soon as they attack a few people, but it seems that many are not.

The problem with this is you cant trust them, so I have been telling new players (I met a level 5 yesterday) how it works, but I had to add to my advice, "lately blue blips under level 25 have proven to be hostile, so be careful, when you see anyone approach you at speed especially just be prepared for a possible fight, have your weapons ready and if you have a mic use it, introduce yourself, ask them not to grief you, tell them what you are doing , I find this can diffuse a lot of situations, I know it stopped a few attacks in my case."

It doesnt always work, but it does help.

Also, any player can spend gold to buy their honor back, so a red blip can be a blue blip anytime they want for some gold in game.

When I see three new players, a level 5, a 12 and a 14 hanging around a level 61 all in a posse and all around Rhodes lets say, I know enough to avoid the butcher in Rhodes for the time being.

Its not that I cant dispatch 4 newer players I just would rather not lose my carcasses and stowed animals if I am in a grind for something, I will wait them out or go to another butcher, whereas if I see the same thing, 4 players, but over level 61, say a couple 125's and a 90 I know 90% of the time, they arent griefers, even if they are red blips,  and getting to the butcher wont be a problem, so... take it for what it is, know your place and dont trust anyone 100% but new players the least, as they are unpredictable.

100% low levels haven't been tought the ethics of the West yet. They are learning the hard way ! Lol

Yes, Plunder has completely disappeared, and the only options left are some series choices with different games. That would be ok if the games were fun. Unfortunately too many aren't really,

Too many of them are just running around solo being lost. I think most of the games left are only fun for a few. The rest of us are there to pad their stats.

    I need a posse...

Haven't seen you apply yet bud ! We will gladly give you a test run if you like. Lmk

Guess I'm missing it.  I didn't see anything in the new promo / mission news that says they removed anything.

Nothing was removed its just buried in showdown series modes. Up in smoke and several others are in small showdown series. Others are in large. Featured series is what changes and is currently target races. We play everyday.  Just a tip for stranger missions , keep your posse at least 80 yards from mission giver. They will start most times. Good luck out there on the prairie cowpolks ! It's great fun all in all

I was hoping to hear from players with experience with posse's.

    I have a few questions.

Outfits, can I make and save my own outfits to posse outfit settings?

I see in my posse settings three choices, "none",  "Big City" or "Rugged"

What I would like to know is can I make my own outifts and save them to the my posse settings in place of the two that are there by default?

I made the posse for one reason only, not to have others join me,  this posse was made because I want to use the ability card "Never without one" in pvp, specifically showdown,   BUT when I do, I get killed and spawn back without my hat, so the card is useless after the first time it deflects a head shot for me, after that it does nothing.

So I had looked at a few videos and found out there is a way to make sure you spawn with a hat on in showdown and it was said that if you create a posse and use those outfits you will respawn with a hat, I havent been able to try this yet, I plan too try it today.

So I noticed the supplied outfits and my first question became, can I change those outifts or can I add an outfit and save it to that list?

Thanks for reading my question, and I appreciate any information from experienced posse user's.

Sorry bud the answer is no ! At least currently you can Not change those ! On the bright side equipping the posse outfit does seem to work with nwo

The 1st thing that happens in RD O is starting you off as a  prisoner who gets freed to help kill people...  An outlaw and gunslinger.

So for R* to say anything that contradicts their own game is kind of funny..

If the game started off with people on a farm, milking cows..  Then they might have had a point.

    But that's it ^

If I run a stranger mission, I would consider that a "mutual combat' situation. Any problems I encounter when I do that are my problem.

You griefing me when I'm spawning in, fishing or running to the butcher with an animal over my shoulder isn't a mutual combat situation.

100% Any one who would SHOOT you at butcher selling your goods is an OUTLAW and should pay for there wrong doings. And they will most times ! Lol
