I like the new game Kean, the other PvP games I played I saw a lot of people lag switching so stopped playing them.
The one that came out with the new update? I heard several say they liked it too.

Have a look on Utube smokesnugs YT pepe he,s the biggest flopper going, he is ranked nearly 400 doing it.
I'll take your word for it.
Yeah, one of the few PvP games I played in RDO there was guy who absolutely dominated every match. .....and he was also using this tactic with great success.

I think sometimes it's useful. The abuse is annoying. some players look like crazy dolphins out of the water 😅
Oh, certainly. I just hate when it gets overused to the point of (for example) bunny hopping in some shooters. It's looks silly and can ruin the experience IMO. .....although there are ways devs can regulate the use some of these mechanics by introducing cool downs, fatigue, aiming penalties, etc. so folks can still use the feature but not over use it.

Congrats. I still have yet to go back and finish the game. Not because I didn't want to but simply because RDO came out before I could. I will though.

I really do hate these kinds of mechanics in games. .....ones that get overused and abused by some. It just looks silly and ruins the experience / fun for me. ....like bunny hopping in some games, etc.

Have you reported it yet? I would submit a trouble ticket through their Support site (not the feedback site) so you get a response.

Hi @Xakahl,
First, welcome to the forums.
I noticed you created a thread in our Posse Recruitment sub forum which is perfect. That is where these types of threads should go. However, please don't create multiple threads on the same subject.
I will go ahead and close this one and let your other thread in the Recruitment forum stand. Thanks for your understanding.

First, it's not my board. I am here to simply to help moderate it, assist the community, etc. Part of that is keeping things tidy in this forum. This thread that I merged yours with has been discussing all aspects on the subject. To be quite frank, I simply didn't see the need to have several threads on essentially the same topic that result in the same points being made and develop into the same rehashed arguments or "rants".
It disappoints me that you think I am making decisions here "willy nilly" or that I would intentionally move a thread here to "kill it". That is certainly not how I operate and not what I am trying to do with your input. .....and I am definitely not trying to stifle your ideas / contributions. The reason this thread is several pages long is that it is far from dead. It's still quite active with people responding to much of the input that is given.
So, there you have it. I would hope my explanation is good enough to show you I had no bad intentions through my actions.

Curious to see what the OP has done about this.

I don't know the answer to your problem but nice to know it's an option now.
-
I think I'm going to go ahead and move this from the Posse Recruitment forum into the main Online forum instead.

Its simply an Easter egg that pays tribute to a side mission in the first RDR game.
QuoteRed Dead Redemption 2 Secret Easter Egg - Flying Machines and Charles Kinnear references
In Red Dead Redemption 2 you can find two crashed planes that are directly connected to the Kinnear Family.
In the in-game film "Wonders of the Age: Manflight", the narrator makes a reference to Aldus Kinnear and his sons Percival and Charles.
A wrecked flying machine with a dead body inside can be found west of the Little Creek River in West Elizabeth. The body is believed to belong to Percival Kinnear, Charles' brother.
Head to west of Armadillo, New Austin to find another airship wreckage. This one has the name of the owner written on it, Charles Kinnear, who apparently survived the plane crash only to die years later in Red Dead Redemption, during the Stranger mission "Deadalus and Son".

Fyi..... This thread has offered the OP some sound advice on how they could better their chances in Free Roam in its existing state. I don't think we need another thread to rehash reasons why we think griefing should be allowed or removed completely from the game.
@lumper, I merged that other thread you mentioned in with the main discussion in this forum on the topic. If it's all the same to you, I think I will closed this thread as I really don't see a need to have the same arguments in multiple threads.
.....unless you would rather I merge it with the one thread? You tell me what you would prefer I do. Thanks. I was ok with it simply fading away but now I don't think that will happen.

No offense but this discussion is essentially the same arguments being hashed out in the main "How do you handle griefers/trolls" thread. .....and like that thread, any attempts at finding constructive solutions finding balance in Free Roam are going to be met with the typical remarks you see here.
As such, I am going to merge this thread with the other.

Welcome to the forums.
Having said that, please refrain from making multiple posts/threads as you have done here about the same topic. I will close the other two for you.
Also, if you do post spoilers, make sure to use the function to hide them and include something in your thread title to warn other members. You may like them, but not everyone does and we don't tolerate folks who intentionally try to spoil the game for others . Thanks.

My idea is to ban those players for one hour of so. And if repeatedly longer!
You can't ban people like that for several reasons (namely the fact that not all red dots are griefers) but also PvP is part of the Free Roam experience in RDO. That means sometimes people are encouraged to kill other players whether it's a daily challenge, a side mission you're trying to complete, etc.
However, with the proximity blips, the blip range penalty, bounties, the fact that you can now parlay with entire posses, 1 kill parlays, etc., there is now some level of balance now and options for players who are indiscriminately killed by others. It's not perfect but at least (IMO) they've shown they want to continue in the direction of their vision for RDO.
Right now, it's quite obvious who the more aggressive players are in a session and as mentioned, you may be able to see them but they won't be able to see you as long as you're more than 150 meters away. .....which is relatively close. .....and assuming you haven't been chalking up kills yourself.
Remember though, just because someone is a red dot doesn't mean they have been out griefing people. They could have killed players defending themselves or even NPCs if they slaughtered enough of them. I still avoid any in that color range regardless.
Welcome to the forums. I wish I had an answer. At this point, I don't think there is a way to easily tell. .....at least not one that I have discovered. If you ddo find out a way, please let me know.

To be quite honest, it really depends on the missions you're trying to do, where you are and the types of folks in your session. Not all missions are going to be those that encourage other players to try and stop you like mail runs, wagon repossessions, etc. ......and not all leave you as vulnerable as some so escape is not actually that hard if it comes down to it. The trick is to learn what types to get involved in and don't take those that you feel will leave you overly exposed. .....wagon missions are those kind IMO.
Heck, even with mail runs you're on your own horse so you have speed on your side. Also, IME, someone is just as likely to steal a bag (if you're on a multiple delivery run) at the start location than to screw with your current delivery. .....and you will still get credit for the run(s) you complete.
Personally, I never do missions (especially alone) near where I initially spawn and these days, definitely not anywhere near a region where there are red blips on the map. I will select a state to spawn in (say New Hanover) and then trek over to the west end of the map (sometimes even further like New Austin in this case) before hunting, fishing, engaging in side missions, etc. .....and I never loiter around.
Speaking from my own experience, I have done many missions solo with relatively few actually being interrupted by other players. At least now, the more aggressive players in your sessions are easier to spot.

Ask yourselves this...what made outlaws of the Wild West ...well, outlaws? Was it the fact they fished and hunted and picked up horseshit in barns?
....and what's the point of outlaws without some semblance of law and order? ......risk and consequence, etc. That really didn't exist before the last TU and griefers took full advantage of it.
1 hour ago, Cliffs said:If there were NO killing (I know nobody has asked for that but you have when you think about it) what would this game be? It would be RED DEAD on launch.
.....and you're right, many of us never asked for NO killing. We just wanted more balance, risk and consequence. ....and guess what.....R* agreed. There's a big difference between that and those wanting a completely protected gameplay experience which you seem to be lumping all of us into. Quite frankly, I'm happy with R*'s direction in the last TU if they can tweak it a bit (e.g. the bounties and player blip penalties on self defense, etc.). It's far from perfect but a good start IMO. I'm not complaining.
1 hour ago, Cliffs said:How many lobbies are overflowing with players on hunting/fishing games?
What next, you want to build a city of your own and micromanage it and watch it thrive without any bad guys trying to stop you? Call it Red Dead Simcity.
How much hunting/fishing did any of you do in the story mode? Why have it continue into online?
I play the Golf Club 2019 and not once has anyone ever asked for us to be able to fish in all the bodies of water or hunt those beautiful elk chewing up the greens.
How many golf titles do you know that allow hunting and fishing in their games? How many allow you to kill your opponent? How many have in-game economies reliant on these activities to help you advance, buy weapons and goods, etc.? How many advertise any of that in their marketing?
R* has said that they wanted RDO to be an extension of the campaign as a "jumping off point for a new world of cowboys (and cowgirls) and outlaws that combines multiplayer and cooperative gameplay and narrative components in a huge open world. Players will be able explore alone or easily join with friends or other players to compete or work together. We’ll take full advantage of the entire world, as well as all the aspects of a 19th century setting that make Red Dead Redemption 2 unique and fun."
As I said before, Free Roam is just as much about adversarial gameplay as it is cooperative or solo and R* has said as much. They also would not have included these activities you are so quick to dismiss if they had not intended people to participate in them.
There is a middle road here which is all some of us are asking for and quite honestly, R* seems to agree with and looks to be trying to deliver.

It's been everything I've wanted it to be, and so much more.
Do not regret paying for the extras at all. I'm only about 15 hours in or so, so I've only begun to scratch the surface, but it feels good, man.
I like it. Played a couple hours last night with a friend and a bit of solo.

Is there any recommendations on a replacement controller for the PS4? Mine doesn't seem to be too responsive and has a dead zone until about 1/4 the way in any direction.
I always use, well, Sony Dualshock 4 controllers.

I'll look for and pick this up today like I said I want a little break thanks for the advice! Real quick is Ark the one where you can tame dinosaurs my buddy was telling me about it and it was starting to Peak my interest I just didn't have time for a new video game then...
Yeah, that;'s the one. The Forest is very similar in some respects but it's about being trapped on an island after a place crash. .....but you soon discover you're not alone.
I think it can only be downloaded though (digital copy). Also, I would make sure to watch a couple videos or read some reviews. ......and make sure there is no requirement to be online while playing. I don't believe there is but I don't want to see you buy it and find out I was wrong.
I had fun with Ark as well but not as much as I did with the Forest. Everyone is different though.

......or maybe a fortuitous circumstance as the OP mentioned. .....i.e. a glitch.

So people might find this funny but literally the only reason I picked up rdr2 was because somebody I shouldn't have trusted told me that I could use a cart... my biggest problems with these games is the fact that they limit my carrying capacity when there are carts all over the game that I can't interact with... one of these days I'll find a game where I can cut down some trees and build my own house closest game I have found is no man's sky you guys want open world that's open universe!
Don't like your ship then grind sell and buy a bigger one? don't have enough carrying capacity by a freighter still not enough by a bigger freighter! You want to be a fighter by a fighter you want to be an Explorer by an explorer do you want to do your own thing then customize your ship however you want!
Too bad they released that game with a lie ..." it'll be open Universe multiplayer, but it will be so big that you'll never be able to find anybody else don't worry! " ... very first day :hey bro meet me on Cell Salon Seven oh wait not multiplayer... they have fixed it now and the game is great but they lost way too many people and they released that game two years early... at least for the way they advertised it
I didn't mind it because a whole universe single player is just enough room for me LOL but a lot of people did obviously!
Sean Murray lied about way more than MP aspect of the game. NMS is the one title I can honestly get on board with people who felt they were cheated and lied to. .....there's simply no escaping that fact. Some of the videos that popped up showing clips from interviews, etc. and then the reality after release provided all the evidence one would need.
I preordered and promptly uninstalled it after discovering just how shallow the game play was. The NEXT update certainly helped but I still got bored with it. There is another update being teased that is rumored to be pretty big.
If you like building things and if you like survival games, check into the Forrest. I bought it for $19 on sale and was quite surprised how addictive it was. You can play solo or with friends. It has survival elements like ARK but is better IMO. It's been one of the best bargain games I've purchased. With buddies, it's really fun. .....crafting items, building structures, acquiring resources (e.g. plants, hunting, chopping down trees for wood, etc.).

No, sorry. I haven't but then again, I hadn't finished the campaign yet either.
