All I can say is to make sure you folks are reporting this to R* Support. I'll probably jump on tonight and if I see the same thing, I'll be sure to let them know too.
Something else to consider is that the new XP event was suppose to be this week so perhaps something they changed has had an effect on wildlife spawning in, etc.

Nothing more than usual in my case.
One thing I did discover last night was while in a posse with a friend I was able to get a couple missions to start by going out to the main screen (PS4) and joining their session. There was a screen that popped up stating the obvious (that I was already in a session with them) but that seemed to kick it loose and the missions started. Sometimes it took several attempts but worked.

Hi @boone0829 and welcome to the forums.
I'm going to go ahead and move this to the Online sub forum. Also, in the future you might want to keep the explanation for your topic in your post rather than the title. I'll shorten it for you.
Having said that, I would also encourage you to report this problem through R* Support. I've heard a couple others reporting the same problem.

If it's more than two people then the whole army of friends we've built will rain hellfire down upon them. This happened last night against 4. Three friends (most of us over rank 100 nowadays) turned into 12, and they saw how many of us kept popping up and ran then left the session.
Same happened in strawberry, some cocky rank 40 shot one of our members for no reason and we were fairly nearby and we all lit up red. He probably sh*t himself, cuz he tried to run then ran into an NPC then I guess left the session or disconnected.
So yeah that's how we handle griefers, scare the sh*t out of them with numbers/force.
Unfortunately, I've run into a couple low level loaners that no matter how many times we put them down they continued to come back for more. They were determined to be as irritating as they could even though they were no actual threat to our safety. .....we just couldn't continue to do what we were doing.
There's no fun in being steamrolled by greater numbers and/or superior leveled players but there is also no joy in having to continually kill the same player over and over again because they won't leave you alone and accept defeat. .....griefing comes in many forms.
Seems we used to be able to run off players like that but now more seem to just keep hanging around trying to be as much of a bother as they can.

First, we welcome you to the forums @devius1. .....but I would ask that you please don't double post. I will leave your post in the Online subforum standing and close this one.
Thanks for your understanding and again, welcome.

P.S. Feel free to contact me with any questions / concerns you have.

First, welcome to the forums @nshanny73.
Personally, I would report the issue to R* Support. I think it's vital that we report such problems especially during this beta period. The more people that do (who are having problem), the more accurate a picture R* has of more widespread problems, etc.

Yea,as far as I could tell, we only got 2xp from the npcs we killed in the mission.
Yeah, I guess I never noticed. I was always looking at the XP given for the missions.
Let's see how the 20% goes this week. It's supposed to to be on all activities so I hope that means everything that doles out XP including kills, etc.

I think we need to stop calling them griefers and call them what they really are. Player Killers..
You're welcome to call them what you want but in my book, examples like mine are clear examples of people whose only interest is to harass and irritate other players. ......in other words, griefing. Hell even R* uses the term in describing these folks.
We call them griefers, you call them player killers. I'm ok with that as I'm not prepared to start quibbling over semantics.

I tried three days ago and I just can not get the connection error, it sucks and I can not find a solution. I've already changed the "NAT" of PS4, I changed some settings on the router and nothing. Can someone help me?
I'm confused. You "can not get the connection error"? That's a good thing, right? .....or are you saying that you can't connect?
If the latter, I'd suggest creating a trouble ticket with R* Support here:
A rep will get back to you usually within 24 hours. ......typically much faster IME.

Hi Jdill,
First, welcome to the forums.
As for forming or joining a posse, you're talking about in-game for Red Dead Online, correct?
I'm not sure what platform you're on but for PS4 you click the left D-Pad once to bring up the "Free Roam" menu menu that will appear on the left of the screen. One of those menu items is "Posse". Once you click on that, it will bring up a list of all posses within the session. You are welcome to join any that are "open" while private posses require an invite by the posse leader. Scroll through each to see the posse honor level, status (e.g. open, closed), members in the posse, etc.
To create a posse you go to the same Posse menu but this time use the square button to form a posse. The action is shown in the lower right hand corner. This will bring up another menu and at the bottom of that menu (IIRC) it will have a selection to "Form a Posse" (or something along those lines). Click that and you're good to go.To invite other players to your posse you go to the beginning of the "Free Roam" menu and select players. This will bring up a list of all players in your session. If you click the R1 button once, this will show you a list of all your friends. Ones in pink are in the session with you. Also note that you can invite players to your session this way as well as it will show as an option.
Click on any player's name and if you have created a posse a menu item will be shown where you can "Invite to Posse". Selecting that option will send an invite to that player.
I'm moving this to the Online subform Q&A. Hope this helps and again, welcome to the forums.

This past week it was double the XP bonus of what you would normally get by doing missions with a posse. It wasn't actually "double XP" of the whole payout of XP if that makes sense.
Next week is 20% more XP IIRC for all activities and the week after that the new update comes.
This was the first time for this sort of XP bonus as I recall but I doubt it will be the last.

Good question.
I think the save game file is tied to the game but I don't know if that could or would be transferred to a new copy of the game. My gut says no but I don't know for sure.
I would ask Rockstar Support to be honest:
Curious though..... What's in the special edition that you want compared to the standard?
Welcome to the forums btw.

Why doesn't Rockstar listen, when i suggest that in their RDR2 new update, they make it possible to save gameplay with cheats enabled. Just like their previous titles(GTAV and RDR1)
Maybe ask them? I don't know. Perhaps it's simply not that popular of a request? Maybe it's simply not high on the priority list? Also, we don't know all of the details of what will be included in the 2/26 update nor do we know what other features will be added down the line. We are still in the early stages of this beta.
Welcome to the forums btw.

These games are GaaS models (games as a service) and R* has set the benchmark with GTAO as they will no doubt with RDO.
An RDR3 is likely many years into the future. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if RDR2/RDO is re-released in a remastered version for next gen consoles like GTAV was. ......depending of course when those are scheduled.
-
I'll shorten the title and add R* to it before I pin it @jnaron_ngc. .....if it's all the same to you.

I noticed if I message them more than 3 times about the same issues, I get canned responses. Like they just put me in a spam folder somewhere and ignore me. lol
Well, in some cases that's all they can provide since they are not privy to all of the details of schedules, progress, etc. Especially when something is a known issue, they will give a canned response. I wouldn't put it past some reps to have a list of responses they simply cut and paste from given the amount of folks they have to reply to and the repetition of some reported issues.

They have seemed seriously interested in fixing the game if possible in my interactions with them. But as always the 'squeaky wheel gets the grease', the issue with the most interest shown by us is the winner and gets addressed. So flood them with requests, issues, etc.
I know some will never trust R*, question their motives, etc., but they have mentioned several times that they are looking for community feedback to help them develop RDO and made just as many comments to remind folks that this beta is a true work in progress.
Folks can complain, discuss their hopes, criticize the direction of the game, etc. but it means nothing unless they make their voices heard. It's great to have those conversations here and the site encourages people to do so but R* is providing their fans with (what I believe) is a rare opportunity to help make a difference by submitting their feedback while the game is still being developed. They even established a dedicated site for this feedback.
Obviously, not everyone will get to see their own suggestions come to fruition in the game but IMO, I still think it's worth taking a few minutes out of your day and submitting them.
Regardless of how some folks feel about it, the coming anti-griefing measures are a perfect example of how this input has had a direct affect on changes in the gameplay mechanics. ......and it shouldn't stop there as people will (and should) continue to provide their input on how they feel such changes improve or hamper the game.
Doesn't matter how people feel about topics on gameplay in RDO, everyone has the opportunity to voice their opinion on that website and I believe they should take advantage of that.

Just note that the "Bug / Technical Issue" option will take you to their Support site where a trouble ticket will be created and a representative will respond typically within 24 hrs. For suggestions, feedback, etc., you would obviously use the "Feedback & Suggestions" option. Just note that you are limited to 500 characters per request but you can submit as many as you want. Sometimes it's better to break up long requests / lists because of this.

I have not been jipped, that I am aware of. It is just a randomly slow process.
It seems different for everyone. I have tried the process Madfretter spoke of with no success. The items I never get paid for simply disappear if I do that. I've tried waiting after each sale (for quite a long time I might add) without luck. I've tried selling pelts individually, etc., etc. The issue for me is that some pelts (no consistency there either) I simply won't be paid for.
R* has acknowledged the problem when I have submitted trouble ticket to them so let's hope it gets rectified.

The planned so called update only sounds like minor changes with no new content. Lets hope im wrong but doesnt sound like much of anything
Depends what you consider "minor". .....but yeah, it seems based on the current information that they are mostly gameplay changes / additions but ones with drastic impact.
Also, stayed tuned as there may be more details revealed next week. In case you missed it.....
QuoteOther Fixes and More
Your feedback has been invaluable so please keep it coming. In addition to these updates we are planning to address several additional changes based on community feedback received thus far - select weapons will be re-balanced including the Varmint Rifle, which will have its accuracy brought more in line with other longarm weapons; voice chat will be reduced to work at closer proximity, and while fixes to horse cargo are numerous and ongoing we plan to introduce some improvements to making pelts and carcasses more persistent after death or respawning. We will have more details on additional content in the February 26th update next week. We are excited about the future of Red Dead Online and look forward to sharing lots more in the weeks and months ahead.

Yeah I just confirmed it is still happening to me...went to butcher with only 5 perfect baby alligator pelts on my horse. Went to "sell all $17.50" first thing and sold...whole stack vanished but looking at top right corner, my actual pay received was $10.50 (price of 3). Only happens to me with pelts on the horse...satchel pelts sell fine in stacks.
Make sure you;re reporting this to R* Support:
I would include as much detail as allowed.

I was hunting for a wolf in a stranger mission once, and as I went to pick up the wolf, I was instantly shot, snipered actually. He stole the wolf and dropped it off in tumbleweed, right in the middle of town. Of course his posse was there waiting for me but it didn't fall for it, it was too obvious. At that point I wasn't going to go up against a five-man posse for a wolf.
Textbook griefing and trolling right there.....
Had a posse of 7 sit outside our mission objective at the il fields last night (had to steal horses). Against my little voice screaming NO, we started he mission, stole the horses and went to deliver them. The posse followed and I actually made it to the drop off point but because of the requirement to "hitch your horse" I wouldn't have been able to complete the mission. I blew myself and the horse up.
The posse at that point decided to grief us with continual kills vs. trying to complete the mission objective. Neither of us fought back and we spent the time blocking each of the seven players before finally switching sessions.
Normally, I won't even start engage in missions with other players nearby. There is no balance in this game currently and I for one can't wait to see how the new anti-griefing measures will affect gameplay in this regard.
That posse last night we encountered had 2 players over level 100 IIRC and others higher than me (I was about lvl 52). What fun is that? I would have been fine with the whole encounter had they played the mission and went on their way but that wasn't about to happen. They simply wanted to spoil the mission for us and then continually cause grief.

They've already outlined what to expect in this TU but they also said "We will have more details on additional content in the February 26th update next week". The update will also include bug fixes but to what extent, no one knows.
We also have no confirmation yet as to how some of these new features / changes will work exactly and likely won't until the update releases and folks get a chance to explore them in more detail.

Common Bugs

If folks have bugs to report that are happening to them, they should be reporting them. Someone reporting a list of known bugs from the community isn't going to do anything to be honest.
I've reported quite a few bugs myself that I've run across (some more than once when I've had more information about them that I thought might help), and most of them I have received a response that it is a known problem that R* is working on.
How many of these will be addressed in the coming update is anyone's guess. However, please note that there is supposed to be additional details released this week regarding the update next week.
I will say that I highly doubt that R* Support will provide any of those details before the official announcement is made in the release notes or however that is communicated. .....but it doesn't hurt to ask.
