I'm literally frothing at the mouth over that game.
I played the heck out of the first game but 99% of that was all solo. Only visited the DZ a handful of times. It was a really fun game although I never liked the level of sponginess of the damage model. I get that it's an RPG but having to dump endless magazines full of ammo into some targets ruined part of the experience for me.
Seems they tempered that in TD2 though. Some early impressions are that cover is a lot more important because you take more damage and vice versa. I've heard some complaining that it will kill the run and gun gameplay but I see that as a plus in my book. The lower the TTK, the better IMO because I like a more methodical, tactical nature to my shooters.
I didn't really have any buddies to play with in the first iteration but that's not the case with TD2. ......which is really why I have decided to buy on release vs. waiting. Although I'm still debating a preorder to play the beta this weekend.
I'm more about the coop than I am the PvP.

Hair doesn't grow like it did in the campaign unfortunately. You have to go to the barber like you do in GTAO for different hair/beard styles, lengths, etc. ....at least for now.
-
Never, ever ride into a town with other players present when you have that much to lose especially when playing solo. Either wait for it to clear or move on to another butcher in a location that is safe.
The phone app is also a life saver in this regard. I might take risks when I have less to lose but never after a big hunt.

I myself play a few other games as well to break up the boredom. A bit of Far cry 5 and metro 2033 to get my shoot'em up fix. Metro exodus comes out in less than 2 weeks so if nothing is added to rdo by then, I might be taking a bit of a break myself.
I won't even get into what my feelings were with FC5 but Exodus might be something I will check out too. Never could really get into the Metro series but it was still the kind of games I could play. It usually ends up being one of those titles I grab well after it releases. .....that might change with Exodus though.
I was going to do the same with DIvision 2 but now that a couple of my oldest PSN friends showed an interest, I may pick it up on release in March. .....Anthem is simply not on my radar as it's not the kind of game that interests me.
What I'm really waiting for to get my coop / PvP fix is Insurgency Sandstorm.

Griefing, just a different level. Remember a case where a friend on The Division, couldn't figure out why every time he went to the DZ, that he kept running into a certain other player. He reported the player and it came up that the other player was a follower of his and every time he got on. This guy would stop what he was doing to go and grief. This was a xbox decision that they changed from the 360 to the One. Where you at least had the choice whether or not to let someone to add you to their list.
I don't know how it's handled on PS4, but Xbox can be crazy.
That sucks.
If you block someone on PS4, neither party will be able to do the following:
- Send each other messages and friends requests.
- Add each other to a group.
- See each other’s online and Now Playing status.
- Send each other invitations for parties, Share Play sessions, game sessions, broadcasts, Communities, and events.
- Join the same party.
- Comment on each other’s activities and Live from PlayStation content.
This also includes following a player that has blocked you as I've tested it before myself.

I will believe it when I see it. The spectre of the first RDO and how RS neglected that game to focus entirely on GTA5 looms large in my psyche. I'm starting to feel deja vu as we head into the third month of this so called beta period. Of course I hope I am wrong.
Yeah, my only point was to clarify that there was indeed details provided on what will be coming in the new TU and beyond. .......personal feelings about R* and speculation regarding their intentions, etc. aside.

Just a fair warning, even blocking them they can still follow you from session to session from the recent players menu. Someone did this to me last night through 5 session changes. He only stopped going after me after I brought him to a friend who's as persistent as him and he kept killing him until he left finally.
Why is that even a thing? That you can join someone's session even though they aren't a friend?
That may have happened to me once but I attributed it to the fact that the others in my posse didn't block the offenders like I did before we left the session.
I will say that I've never joined a fresh game where I ran into someone I had previously blocked but that could be a simple matter of chance. Although I've got over 300 on my list at this point.
It seems odd to me as well how that works with the recent players having the ability to follow you in the game like that. IMO, you're right, that shouldn't be a thing. If they want to play with you then let them send a message to ask for an invite, a friend request, etc.
I've never played an online game where I thought "darn, I wish xxUnknownRandomxx would have followed me to my new session". If I think I want to play with someone again, I will send them a friend request or ask if they would like to via messaging. ....or vice versa.

There is no date for the release of the new title update. This is the latest information we have:
https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60828/Red-Dead-Online-Beta-Update-Jan-25-2019
Ever thought about putting the game away for a while and revisiting it later? You can always stay in touch here and follow R* through Twitter, etc. so you'll be notified when there is more news. I may do the same myself at some point. As it is, I haven't played the game in the last couple days or more and depending on the state of RDO in March, I may end up moving to the Division 2 for a little while until a meaningful update comes along during this beta. I usually have 2-3 titles at a time that I will dabble in. Hell, I still play GTAVO after all these years.

This video was submitted to Rockstar but I recommend that you also let them know your thoughts at their feedback site
https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback
As Netnow66 mentioned, I would submit a trouble ticket with R*. Make sure you click on the "Bug / Technical Issue" box in that link. That will take you to their Support site where someone will respond to your report.
Camps are a mixed bag as some don't have this issue while others do. Hopefully they will tell you that it is among the known issues to R* and they are working on it. I've had the same response regarding side missions not starting, friends not appearing on the in-game friends list when trying to invite them, not getting money for pelts at the butcher, etc.
.....and yes, the game is still in beta and will be well into the foreseeable future. The title update will be coming "soon" although there is no release date they have provided. Everything else is speculation. As Netnow66 said, the best you can do is simply try to find ways to play the game in a way that works for you. Work around the bugs and shortcomings but make sure you report them. .....and submit your ideas and suggestions too.
My advice for those who are fed up with the game, R*, etc. and you've already provided feedback to them, maybe think about shelving it for a while or until the next TU comes out. Just stay tuned here for news an updates. Hell, even I might get to a point where I will put the game away for while.

I would contact R* Support. Here's the link:
Open a bug report and you should receive a response (hopefully with an answer) within day usually.
-
The question is if you can use the same PSN account on two PS4 consoles at the same time, right?
I tried looking it up and never found a clear answer, just mixed opinions or claims. Personally, I would ask Sony Support just to be sure.

Moving this to the online forum.

....so you're a "Gamemaster" from R* then?

No one knows when this beta will end. RS have not been open about what content they will add or when.
While they haven't given a specific time frame on the next title update, they have provided details on what it will include. It's in my post.

Gun Rush Feedback & Matchmaking Improvements
Following the launch of the new Gun Rush mode, we identified a few matchmaking issues, some of which we have addressed with short-term improvements and all of which we are working towards more permanent and proper fixes for in the longer term. The minor improvements should help generate fuller lobbies and we will add more fixes in upcoming title updates. Gun Rush is best experienced with as many competitors as possible, so if you had any issues with smaller lobbies around release, we strongly encourage you to give it another go this weekend as we are already regularly seeing much fuller matches on both PS4 and Xbox One.
For those who haven’t tried it yet, Gun Rush is a tooth and nail, Western style battle-royale fight to the death for up to 32 players that can be played either with Teams or as a Free For All. Players compete in an ever-shrinking battle zone with horses for quick transport (and associated risks). Skirmish for weapons ranging from Mauser Pistols to Repeating Shotguns to Fire Bottles and Dynamite Arrows – as well as for valuable, hard to obtain armor like the headshot-thwarting Ned Kelly Armor to help you survive to the end.
We also updated our official Feedback page to now include dedicated sections for Gun Rush. We of course want to know what you like, don’t like, suggestions for improvements and changes to this and other modes and types of gameplay – so please do keep it coming!
More to Come
Our teams are currently working on lots of fixes, changes and improvements to the game based on player feedback including the quality of life improvements that we detailed in our last status update: Proximity-Based Player Blips, Parley Changes with quicker access to Feuding, Law and Bounty Improvements to discourage griefing while introducing a new Freeroam dynamic between bounty hunters and criminal rogues, plus Daily Challenges with gold nugget rewards and more. We are currently planning to have these and other improvements to the game included in a Title Update scheduled for release in the coming months – we’ll provide more information as we get closer to the date.

I am just worried they will overdo it. I have seen some great games be destroyed by microtransactions and becoming a pay-to-win type of game. Like if it starts to get unfair unless you are buying stuff, I will jump ship. I played the story and loved it so I got my money's worth. I can easily walk away if they want to pull this crap.
Well , the good news is that R* isn't using use P2W models in GTA nor RDO. Also, they've already stated that the only things locked behind GBs in RDO will essentially be cosmetic. Other items that can be bought with gold are also purchasable with in-game cash so if anything, RDOs MTX model is one that is a "pay to shortcut" but definitely not P2W.
All things considered, I don't think we have anything to worry about in that respect.

I was watching lightning strikes in the distance last night in the game and really didn't realize how explosive they were when they hit the ground. There was a brief moment there when I thought about riding out to the area to tempt fate.

When I skin a smaller animal and spread its pelt over the back of my horse, the game doesnt allow me to take it back to my satchel, only to discard it!
What to do?
Hi Mihail,
This isn't a decision left to the player. A skin is either deposited in your bag automatically or requires being draped on your horse.
The smaller of animals will be placed in your shoulder bag after you skin them. Others will be rolled up, tucked under your arm and then require you to place them on the horse or drop them. The biggest of them will be rolled up, carried on your shoulder and will take up the space behind your bedroll on your horse. Your horse can only carry one of these at a time.

I've said this a million times before but I think it bears repeating.....
I hope you folks are reporting these concerns to R* via their feedback page. Here's the link for those who may not know. Please, please, please submit your feedback to them. It's the only option we have open to us for the possibility of affecting change in RDO during its development.

I've have the problem with the bonding level resetting. Although it seems if I die, sometimes it goes back to fully "bonded".
Just a reminder but I would encourage folks to report all bug to R* directly. Even though this is an issue they likely know about, the more people that report it, the better.
