no bullies but you are taking over lobbies? haha
Maybe he's just talking about having as many friends as they can get join the same session. I see nothing wrong with that and it actually sounds pretty cool if they can do it. .....given we don't have any private session options.

For Red Dead 1 it was "Undead Nightmare", a zombie kill fest. If anyone enjoyed that, please raise your hand.
At the time, I enjoyed it. ........at the time.
If they were to introduce a UN2, I don't know if I would be on board this time around. I've been all "zombied out" for quite a while.

The regular free roam is lacking, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't addicted to Gun Rush.
You know, on the one out of every 10 time I try to get into a lobby that actually succeeds.
I'll wager quite a few folks feel the same way and why R* chose to focus on it last week.

Just note that the link above is to the "online" feedback page. The "Feedback" option is for feedback regarding RDO only. However, the "Bug / Technical Issue" option will take you to their Support site which will allow you to report problems, etc. for both online and the campaign (the one I linked to).

I disagree with the statement "its a beta", if I paid 60 dollars for a game (others have paid up to 100) then this "Beta shouldn't have microtransactions in it at all or at least before initial release. It seems like a quick cash grab in a way. Which I hope is not true.
Well, they probably say that because it is a beta. Whether some folks choose not to accept that statement is not going to change the fact that it is.
Also, R* was up front that RDO would be a work in process that would take weeks or months to develop. .....before they even mentioned the "coming months" remark in the last progress update so (at least to me) it was no surprise.
As for MTXs, I personally don't see the issue. You don't have to buy Gold Bars and they are not required for access to weapons, ability cards, etc. R* made it clear that anything locked behind GBs will essentially be cosmetic.
This game is a GaaS model like GTAO. The reality is that things like Shark Cards and GBs are an essential part of this model and are what sustain these games and drive future updates / content. It's why GTAO is still popular and selling strong several years after it's release.
It makes sense to me that they would establish the MTX component early on in RDO so that it's in place as they begin to release new content including new outfits, etc. ....but again, no one is forcing players to buy those items nor are they required for access to weapons, etc.
I never paid for Shark Cards in GTAO and probably will never buy GBs in RDO. .....and yet I still play GTA and will likely be active in RDO long into the future as well. IMO, they are two games I feel were well worth the $60 each I paid for them. I can't say the same for most other titles I've purchased through the years.

....but some people would like to do those activities and exploring along side friends....
This is a big one for me. The campaign doesn't have co-op and there is no private session options now or in the foreseeable future. Also, it's not all about hunting and fishing. Some PvE'ers and co-op parties want to partake in the story and side missions of RDO as well like I (and my friends) do.
R* created RDO as an experience for all players (PvP and PvE alike) and they have stated time and time again:
QuoteRed Dead Online is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience in the original Red Dead Redemption, blending narrative with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways. Using the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players.
2 hours ago, Cliffs said:So without attacking me the OP, just what is it you expected from an online shooting game?
....or rather, an online shooting game meant to blend PvE and PvP gameplay together.
What do I expect? ......balance.
To be brutally honest, all I care about is that R* has recognized that many of their customers are not happy with the current trolling problem and they are willing to do something about it. Whether that will help or make the problem worse is another story.

Multiple accounts or maybe platforms.

FYI.... I'll keep posting updates on the PSN Community including patches, etc. so folks in your position as well will still know what's going on. ....in case you want to revisit the game again after a more meaningful update.

Welcome Nate.
Yeah, probably not ever going to join you during that time frame but we do have folks here from the UK and other parts of the world. .....so while that time may not be so convenient for a lot of folks in the U.S., it could be for them.

I can almost guarantee it. You hear it in open chat or lobbies everywhere; prepubescent kids using edgelord language to sound "cool" to an audience of strangers. They are prone to using exploits, hacks, and glitches, simply because they can, and unfortunately, the racist and sexist elements you see online in gaming start with home life more often than not.
What I don't get are some of these YT personalities that should know better but still let slip racial/derogatory slurs that they then regret, make excuses and have to apologize for. .....especially when they portray themselves as "culturally sensitive".
I'm far from being any kind of SJW and I certainly believe a lot of that stuff gets taken too far, folks being too sensitive, etc., but I would never say some of the things these people have said and I think there's no excuse for it. That's not the way I was raised nor the way I would raise my own child.

Can only confirm. This is not only in RDR but also in multiple other games including GTA. When it comes to RDR, i can't think of many situations when i would rather play alone. I am playing with a larger group of people (not exactly friends but not random as well) and we usually run in posse of up to 7. This way, we can outnumber most of the hostile players we meet online and i can barely remember any missions we would have failed to finish.
The most important part when playing with others that are not close friend is communication, coordination and organization but that's easy to come by with the communication tools we have at hand.Yeah, most of the times I play alone is usually just to hunt/cook food and/or to sell goods for money. ....sometimes for XP but not really anymore.

Of course not. .....and thanks.

No worries. It's my pleasure.
I saw it on my Twitter feed and hadn't noticed anyone post it yet so I thought I would. ....plus, being semi-retired, I'm not doing a whole lot of other important things anyways.
14 minutes ago, ZombieFeet said:is it me or did this just amount to Gun Rush...………………….. 😁☺️🙂😐😳😞🤢😪
As for right now? .....yes. Seems the other items will require an update they will have to push out to users to be downloaded so those will come with the next TU when that's done and approved by MS / Sony.
-
RDO way more fun with friends than alone. Anyone can play solo but helping out friends, co-op'ing in missions and simply sharing the whole experience is much more rewarding IMO / IME. .....and I do mean friends, not randoms (that's a whole different story).
To be quite honest, playing with friends is probably the only thing still keeping me going right now with the lack of content.

I'll probably spend it on finishes for my weapons.
As for their focus, it may actually be that these PvP modes are really popular. I dunno... I never play them.
We also have to remember that title updates have to go through a Sony/MS certification process that can take a month or more.

Well, at least they keep providing us with free gold, so that's a plus.
Yeah.... Just not happy seeing that the next TU with the changes I've been waiting are slated to release in the "coming months".
Seems I may actually have to shelve this game at some point and then revisit it later when more content (that I want) begins to arrive.

Are you pressing and holding L3? Cuz some people think you only tap it, but if you hold it you can steady your horse better/longer.
Really? I didn't know that. I'll have to try it out next time.
There are a lot of things in this game that R* didn't really reveal about the UI, mechanics, etc. No idea why.

Welcome Bandit.
Fyi, we have a sub-forum for recruitment posts so I will move this over there.

Maybe its just me.. I was born in the early 80s. I was exposed to plenty of edgy offense stuff through the 80-90's. So im totally desensitized to pretty much everything.
No, it's not just you. It's that way for a lot of millenials.
Seems rude behavior, insults and that whole "in your face" attitude are not only tolerated but encouraged in some cases over qualities like good sportsmanship. Far cry from the way I was raised but it is what it is.
As for talking smack to get in people's heads, a little ribbing is one thing but some folks using racial slurs, profanity laced threats, derogatory remarks about yourself or family members, etc. is another in my book. I mute them, report the more extreme cases and block them.

GOLD BONUS, GUN RUSH LOBBY IMPROVEMENTS AND MORE

Gold Bonus
Thank you to dedicated Red Dead Online Beta players worldwide for your continuing feedback as we work together to refine the game experience. As a token of our gratitude for your support and understanding throughout this Beta period, we are rewarding this weekend’s active players with a bonus of 5 Gold Bars. Play the Red Dead Online Beta between today Friday January 25 and Sunday January 27 to qualify for the bonus, which will be delivered to your account by Tuesday January 29.
Gun Rush Feedback & Matchmaking Improvements
Following the launch of the new Gun Rush mode, we identified a few matchmaking issues, some of which we have addressed with short-term improvements and all of which we are working towards more permanent and proper fixes for in the longer term. The minor improvements should help generate fuller lobbies and we will add more fixes in upcoming title updates. Gun Rush is best experienced with as many competitors as possible, so if you had any issues with smaller lobbies around release, we strongly encourage you to give it another go this weekend as we are already regularly seeing much fuller matches on both PS4 and Xbox One.
For those who haven’t tried it yet, Gun Rush is a tooth and nail, Western style battle-royale fight to the death for up to 32 players that can be played either with Teams or as a Free For All. Players compete in an ever-shrinking battle zone with horses for quick transport (and associated risks). Skirmish for weapons ranging from Mauser Pistols to Repeating Shotguns to Fire Bottles and Dynamite Arrows – as well as for valuable, hard to obtain armor like the headshot-thwarting Ned Kelly Armor to help you survive to the end.
We also updated our official Feedback page to now include dedicated sections for Gun Rush. We of course want to know what you like, don’t like, suggestions for improvements and changes to this and other modes and types of gameplay – so please do keep it coming!
More to Come
Our teams are currently working on lots of fixes, changes and improvements to the game based on player feedback including the quality of life improvements that we detailed in our last status update: Proximity-Based Player Blips, Parley Changes with quicker access to Feuding, Law and Bounty Improvements to discourage griefing while introducing a new Freeroam dynamic between bounty hunters and criminal rogues, plus Daily Challenges with gold nugget rewards and more. We are currently planning to have these and other improvements to the game included in a Title Update scheduled for release in the coming months – we’ll provide more information as we get closer to the date.

I rarely use my camp for anything but cooking food and even then, I usually just find an open campfire to take care of that.
I agree with the idea that Cripps could fulfill the butcher's role in camp. ......but then again, I think it kind of ruins the role that towns in the game play. Perhaps simply adding more butcher locations is the answer then? .....or a roving trader(s).

Hi Bandit and welcome to the forums.
We have a Recruitment forum specifically for these types of posts which I will move this to now. RDR2.org also provides a way to create a Posse or community that you also may be interested in:

Might I also suggest you add your platform and gamertag into your profile as it will help those you are trying to reach.
