The reason you can't send PMs is because you only have two posts since you joined back in May 2019. We have a limit to help protect our members from spammers, etc.
I will unlock your old thread. We just ask all new members to please make sure to read and adhere to the community rules including the supplementary ones located in the stickies in the Posse Recruitment sub forum.
As per the Recruitment forum rules: Threads that are found to have MIA thread starters may be closed at our discretion. We do this when it's obvious they haven't been back to engage with the RDR2.org community, respond to posts, etc.
....so anyhow, I unlocked your thread and you should be able to edit or add to it at this point. I am going to lock this thread as the issue is resolved.

GTA V, sorted. MS update caused the problem.
Sending a ticket to Rockstar is a waste of time as it is all computerized. They don't do support tickets like other companies where a real person responds.
Actually, they do but you can sometimes get a canned response. You're likely reaching a first tier CS which is usually run by a 3rd party. The degradation ins service has been a problem since PC released.

RUMORS ABOUND IN ANNESBURG ABOUT THE MYSTERIOUS SHADOW BUCK
New Sighting Mission, Buck Vitalism Studies, a new Hardcore Series and more
Rumors are aswirl in Annesburg about an unusual buck with an entirely black coat and uniquely dark set of antlers. Like all deer, this buck typically avoids humans and may flee if disturbed, but beware – the Legendary Shadow Buck has also been known to aggressively charge at those who pose a threat. Poachers, drawn by the creature’s mythical appeal, have set up camps along its trail. Take care when tracking and approaching.
All Naturalists can launch this new Sighting Mission by visiting Harriet at her shop.
Should you successfully sedate and sample the Shadow Buck, you’ll receive Rewards for a free Vest of your choice and 100 rounds of Sedative Ammo for your next expedition; kill and skin the animal to receive a Reward for 100 rounds of Express Repeater Ammo.
A man of few convictions, Gus Macmillan is uniquely positioned to help you satisfy your penchant for wearing fine furs and trophies. Bring the Shadow Buck’s pelt to his store to unlock the Shadow Coat for purchase. If you decide to craft it, you’ll also receive a Reward for a free Bandolier of your choice.
VITALISM STUDIES
Science is oftentimes stranger than fiction. After the recent discovery of a new herb, Harrietum Officinalis, Miss Davenport believes she may have uncovered a way to experience the life of a humble Buck. Naturalists who follow the steps in Harriet’s gratis Buck Vitalism Studies Pamphlet can discover how to have this truly out-of-body experience, and also receive a Reward for a free Treasure Map.
Naturalists must be Rank 5 or above to inquire about Harriet’s knowledge of Vitalism Studies.

....so are you still talking about not being able to get into a poker game in RDO or GTAO? I'm confused.
I do know that I can join a game in RDO without issue. I also have not heard anyone mention problems with it on console or PC. I would suggest sending a trouble ticket to R* Support.

That would be the the owner / Admin, Lonestar.

Hi Wolf and welcome.
I would encourage you to take a minute and fill out you profile including the platform you're playing on. There are some nuances between PC, XB1 and in some cases even PS4 with the early access aspects, etc.
Thank You.
As for the question regarding the Trader Role, I haven't really delved into it so I'm not well versed in how it all works but I'm sure someone else will know and chime in.

Well, I tried earlier this evening and had no problem. .....PS4.

When I go to the map and click on any place which has poker the poker icon comes up.
When I go close to the table I get this message:
" This feature is not available now. Please come back later."
Are you able to play poker?
You also have to realize you're on PC and others may be on PS4 or XB1 like Antonia.

I haven't heard anything.

I noticed a lot of my friends are n't playing RDO anymore. May be that's another reason for reduced numbers in lobbies?
Perhaps. I don't know how sessions are populated although it I have doubts the low count is due to a lack of players to fill them. I would assume a decrease in players would simply mean less sessions.

Seems the gamin news outlets are catching wind of the reduced player counts:
Something else interesting in that article:
"On social media, one Red Dead Online community posed a poll asking players if they’d like small lobby counts to be permanent, and out of more than 3,200 replies, an overwhelming number of people voted yes. The consensus seems to be that folks will take the game actually working over making it a social experience."

Whats with the multiple replies? I'm guessing a problem submitting your post?
I deleted the other 3 for ya.
As far as poker not being available, I haven't heard of any issue yet. ....assuming you're from a region that allows it, etc.

Saw this on R*'s Twitter feed. I thought it was kinda cool and figured I'd share with y'all:

The only way i know is through their Support site here:
https://support.rockstargames.com/
That's one thing I don't miss from my PC days are the issues with some games and griefers. I still play GTAO to this day on my PS4 and rarely have problems. Sorry you're having issues though.

I enjoy PVP too. But there’s a clear line in the sand about when conflict is appropriate and when it isn’t. There’s also part of me that thinks explosive rounds should be removed and free aim against players should be the standard in free roam.
I'd be ok with free aim as long as it's just against other players. If folks also want that experience with NPC's it could be tied into the existing option(s) in the menu. .....but you're alienating a lot of players out there who prefer auto aim.
Personally, I find the combat in games like GTA and RDR kind of jenky. It's one of the few that I leave AA on. If it were more refined in this resepct I might have a different opinion on it.
I think FA lobbies would be the best bet like HuDawg has always wanted but R* is really against anything but Free Roam.
Maybe they could implement FA like they do with the Defensive Mode. ....perhaps create a new mode that isn't defensive but will flip on FA for anyone targeting you and if you try to target anyone else (or vice versa).

@Kean_1, don’t you get it? RDO isn’t about the Wild West. It’s about pissing off as many people as you can! The only reason to play is because there’s a massive world that exists solely to harass other people who are actually enjoying the side activities. Owning noobs is the only worthwhile objective. And you thought that’s what PVP was for. Psh.
Yeah, I'll never get the allure to ruin others experiences and fun like that.
Personally, I enjoy PvP games and play them with friends. In fact, I have weekly sessions playing hardcore in MW with my PS4 buddies (for lack of better tactical shooters out right now on PS4). .....but I like co-op games even more and sometimes, PvEvP (but only depending on how they are implemented). The latter is essentially what RDO. .....and you're talking to a guy that also enjoys games like DayZ which has no rules but there's also no targeting, ability enhancements, bullet sponge mechanics, etc.
RDO has plenty of opportunities to fight other players in the PvP mode like you mentioned but a big part of that are also cargo deliveries and various missions / activities. I have absolutely no problem with that and even enjoy those interactions. The player selecting the activity / mission is fully aware they can be targeted and their task is made public to everyone in the session. There is also a reward for the effort. With griefing, there is none other than some sort of odd gratification for pissing others off I guess, but I really have no interest in delving into their thought process so....

......you completely missed all of my points but I expected that. It's obvious you have a narrow view of RDO's content, activities and what others are talking about.
The only reason I even mentioned any of that was because of your offhand "yawn" remark. You thanked folks for listening to you and then "yawned" when they shared their opinions.
Anyhow, glad you love old games like DK. I appreciate the suggestion but I had my fill of the game from my frequent visits to the local arcades back in the 80s.

I contented myself to what u my term Griefing. I disrupt supply journeys, attack any random player or posse and test my skills against them.
Even R* considers the latter part of that statement "griefing". If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, well......
....but yeah, I will admit that it brings me some joy if griefers are discouraged by any part of this game including this new population change/issue. I have no problem with interaction but not when it involves random folks running around disrupting and killing other players for no reason other than for their own amusement.
....so when you say you are are bored now because it makes it more difficult for you to grief others, yeah......
4 hours ago, James Hickok_1837 said:I agree that the game works better hands down. It should work that way with full lobby but somehow R* can't deliver.
ATM we are about 3 months before next gen consoles are out and maybe, i repeat, maybe after remaking of RDR2 (im almost sure they will release "Remastered for XBOX X series") the game will work better. Similar to GTA transition for next gen consoles.
Time will tell.
It may not even require a remake. Many games will be playable on the next gen consoles when they come out regardless. A remaster may be in the cards but these games may already be able to take advantage of simply running on the next gen hardware.
Either way, I have a feeling the drastic population change may be short lived. If this is intentional, they could be testing some things out. Unfortunately, R* isn't one of those developers who communicates well regarding such things so who knows.

Hopefully our recent seven month lull in content has allowed them to catch up and we’ll start seeing more regular drops of content. If the leaks turn out to be true, that looks like it’s the case.
Actually, I haven't played in many months myself but if this limited player count is really a widespread "issue", I might just consider getting back into it this week.

If I was a betting man, I’d say most of R* development time was spent on the single player and most of RDO was put on the back burner until after release. There’s a part of me that wishes they had waited another year so RDO could have released on more solid ground. The only consolation I take from it is that I’ve only ever dropped $5 of real world money on the game and I’ve experienced everything the game has to offer.
No need to bet as they made that pretty clear when RDR2 released. Personal complaints/opinions aside, when RDO was rolled out it was done so as a beta and it was clear from the beginning that it would be a work in progress for a while. It was months after that the beta label was finally dropped albeit without any fanfare.
