Hi Lonestar, hope I'm not gatecrashing your posse; I'm a new member here and was looking through the list of posses and this seemed like the best place to start, is this OK?
It's an open posse so join away.

The damage model of this game has little to do with any historical significance of the accuracy or lethality of weapons of the period. .....which by the way were plenty accurate.
Yeah, the damage is spongy but then again, the game itself is rather arcadey in that respect so it is what it is. R* games are also heavily dependent on auto aim so go figure. I still love the RDR and GTA series though.

No, I wouldn't say it's customary and no, not everyone is linked together as PSN friends. Personally, I've connected with several folks here as PSN friends but even among those, I don't think I've had the opportunity to even go online with them yet (just other friends I already knew). ......no pressure.

Obviously, without sending friend requests you won't see when other people are on. However, the PSN Community gives you the opportunity to see when other players are in game and send them messages if you wish (those that have the option on to appear online that is).
The "Now Playing" tab will obviously show who is currently playing and if I'm not mistaken, you have the choice to join their session without being PSN friends. .....although in a game like this it's probably better to send a message if they don't know you so they don't think you're a troll out to kill them. Even with friends I'll still send them a msg making sure it's ok (in case their posse is full or they have other plans).
Hope that answers your question.

Sure, but I wanted invincibility, and my gold back.
Seriously, though... I guess any acknowledgement is good.. It at least brings the issue to their attention. But that gold, man..
I had to delete the horse for it to sort itself, so I am out 5 Gold.
I know how you feel. I just want my old horse back. It was decent and at least with him, I rarely had to deal with the nag.

Haha. Ever heard of clickbait? Certainly worked on you buddy
Ever heard of forum rules "buddy":
Quote- Advertising/soliciting/self-promotion: Your purpose in joining our community should not be to promote or advertise your site, social media, Youtube videos, etc. Forum contributions made for those reasons will be deleted and are cause for an immediate ban. Legitimate recommendations and external sources of information/help/entertainment etc are of course permitted, but just make sure your mentioning them for the right reasons.
Haha.... 🙄

Got a reply from the support ticket.. It actually says nothing of interest.
.....other than the fact that they say they are aware of the issue which in my opinion is good news. I would suggest folks still submit their complaints if they are experiencing these issues though.

Hi Red,
While I completely understand your intention here and I could see this as a way to block users who troll casuals, the forum rules still apply here as well:
Quote- Name and shame: Please don't be tempted to"name and shame" or call out other players in Red Dead Online that you might have had a dispute or other issue with. We don't allow those sorts of posts.
I'd rather respect the rules in this case. I know it's our posse forum but it's still their house. Hope you understand.
Having said that, I've spent a few minutes each session simply observing player behavior and then blocking those who are obviously trolling others. I have heard that when you block someone it will not match you up with them in RDO. Do you know if this is true?
-
If I'm not mistaken those are activities within your own posse.
-
I thought that option only removes the hovering tags for the player that selects the option (not everyone else). ....meaning, all other players will still see our tag as long as they have the option on, right?
-
They didn't say anything specific about resetting players due to exploits and glitches. ......simply that they may "in case of issues".
However, they also provided another update earlier today on Twitter regarding resets to help temper what I believe was an overreaction to some news outlets to what was simply a CYA disclosure and some community remarks made on social media:

Personally, I'm not going to worry about it.
-
Well, Rockstar just posted another update today on Twitter and this time to address the concerns of a stat / progress reset. As some of us mentioned, R* doesn't want to reset everyone if they can help it.
Hopefully they continue with this kind of feedback to their fans. .....and here's hoping that economy update is able to make it out this week.

If you crouch, you're icon will show as grey which means no one can see you. Also, I suspect some are using the respawn feature to get out of firefights.
I've spent a while examining other player's behavior on the main map. Sometimes the players disappear only to show up a bit of a distance away. .....sometimes they disappear but show up relatively close to where they were. Other times the icons seem to jump around a bit in close proximity which I can only guess is lag.
On the minimap though, if a player disappears, it could be that they have crouched to avoid detection or respawned. I have a feeling some trolls may be doing that to get around their victim and to try and gain an edge.
If you start running when crouching, you will be seen again. If you skin and animal, look at the catalogue, etc., you're detectable. You have to walk while crouched to get around anywhere and remain undetected.

I tend to play multiple games as not all of my friends enjoy the same ones as much as others.
Still on the fence about the Division 2 though. ....just don't like the RPG damage mechanics in my shooters and the Division was very spongy. GRW was much more to my liking in that respect although they blew it with Ghost War IMO. For me, I'm waiting for Insurgency Sandstorm to get my tactical shooter fix.
Apparently TTK was one of the things devs said they wanted to address in TD2 so I guess I'll wait and see how that pans out. Also, if my friends are getting it, that will probably influence me to get it as well.

Its not me, unfortunately. Just a YouTube randomer. But yeah, taking out 4 as a solo would have been awesome!
Ah, sorry. ......but yeah, still would've have cool though as they were preoccupied.

That must have been an unpleasant surprise.

Yeah, I've had some quirky things happen with my Chestnut Arabian. I get stuck with the nag more times than I care to admit now. I really should have just stuck with the horse I had after the introduction mission. It was a good horse that I had to sell to make room for the Arabian.

They send Guito to collect😕
Well, I'm sure Strauss will send someone.

Well, I guess we'll see this week when they drop the first update if that helps balance things out a little better.
R* caught a lot of heat from review sites and I'm sure from the community as well who have submitted their feedback. I'll wager the economy is at the top of the list of things people wanted addressed. .....I'm sure private sessions was a pretty popular one as well after reading some of the feedback on social media. Maybe that will come the week after?
Hoping for the best but expecting a work in progress still.

I would love to see the bounty system to be like in story mode. Lots of $ on your head if you go on a rampage.
....along with posses and lawmen that will hunt you down in that region.
That would sure help take the wind out of the troll's sails and at least hold them accountable.

I love how they get so bored that they cant troll the poor dude cooking that they turn on each other. Levels of crippling stupidity are through the roof!
I was waiting for you to unleash on them as they had their hands full.

.....well then, color me unimpressed with the whole epeen thing. Frankly, I consider games entertainment and not life accomplishments, but more power to you. .....I yield.
Your button mashing skills and talent for killing virtual characters with virtual weapons and arcade shooting/aiming/ballistic mechanics are to be commended.

Of course our efforts to improve and balance the Red Dead Online Beta will continue. We are conscious of and still evaluating an assortment of further adjustments based on feedback from the community. We are currently working on fixes for some persistent bugs that are causing some players to be kicked from sessions, and we aim to have fixes for these live next week. We will also continue to review all the feedback and suggestions so please keep them coming to reddeadonline.com/feedback.
As an added thank you for playing and helping us through the beta period, we're also awarding everyone that joined in to play the Red Dead Online Beta at any point through midnight PST today with a gift of RDO$250 and 15 Gold Bars.
