Seems to me most would be happy with that but I don't know. This is the first I've heard of it.
Which patch are you talking about? There have been a couple since the last content drop.

PHOTO CHALLENGE
The Community’s Top Naturalist Photos Will be Featured in Red Dead Online
Talented communities of digital photographers in Red Dead Online have already been cataloging every nook and cranny of the territories, from fashion to sweeping scenery and beyond. With the addition of the Advanced Camera – now available for purchase in the Hunting & Fishing section of the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue – players can take in-game photographs with increased maneuverability and functionality. This purpose-built tool also features a selection of period-appropriate filters, with even more accessible via The Outlaw Pass No. 3.
To celebrate this thriving community of Red Dead Online digital photographers and the newest Frontier Pursuit, The Naturalist, we’re launching an official #Naturalist photography challenge. Whether you’re mastering the art of the Naturalist or crafting specialist clothing items with Gus - one of the best forms of documentation is incontrovertible, photographic proof of your adventures.
To join this challenge, eligible photographs can contain any of the new content from The Naturalist update – from new clothing and weapons to wildlife snaps and more. You can also feel free to photograph any wildlife that existed prior to The Naturalist update. Submissions demonstrating exceptional creativity, originality, quality of composition and artistic direction will be much more likely to be chosen.
Chosen photographs will be added to Red Dead Online as Camp Flags, Bar Portraits or Photo Studio Backdrops – free to all players in a future update coming later this year.
HOW TO ENTER
- Take a photo featuring any of the new Naturalist content or featuring any wildlife that existed prior to The Naturalist update, using the regular handheld Camera or the new Advanced Camera in Red Dead Online
-
Upload your best work to Social Club
Within the Pause Menu, navigate to Social Club and upload your favorite shots to your Social Club Profile
-
Submit your entry
On your phone or PC, log into Social Club and tag your photo with #Naturalist to participate. All submissions must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 7th to be eligible
TIPS
- While being a Naturalist isn’t a requirement to enter the challenge, the Blending Tonic in Harriet’s Shop may prove quite useful in getting closer to wildlife.
- Sedated animals can be repositioned using the Lasso so you can setup your shots
- Ask a friend to help you out, whether they’re acting as human bait for that perfect predator shot or reviving a sedated animal as you’re setting up your shot.
- Taking Legendary pelts to Gus can help you craft the perfect outfit for a solo or group fashion shoot using either the Handheld or Self Portrait feature.
- You may want to delete a few old photos from your reel in-game to clear some space before a shoot.
- For more tips on how to level up as a Naturalist head over to our Community Naturalist Guide.
We'd also like to remind all hopefuls to please make sure your contact email information is up to date in your Social Club account settings so that we can easily let you know if your photo has been chosen. Best of luck to all – we’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s snaps!
Contest is void in certain countries and where prohibited.
See https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/events/contests for official rules and eligibility details.-

RDO is far more generous in its reward/battle pass system. Like I said, I’ve only ever spent $5 on RDO and the rest of the gold I earned through dailies/maps/etc. COD is more of a grind because the BP takes way more time to get from reward to reward. In fact, near the end of the battle pass, it gets throttled and you have to spend even more time playing to get it maxed out (this, of course, is done so you’ll spend more money to automatically max it out). I can casually play RDO and max out the Outlaw Pass in two weeks.
And I don’t find RDO to be grindy in my case. This is almost digital tourism for me. Unless I’m in danger, I walk everywhere (when not on my horse), I hitch my horse in towns, I tip my hat to other players, I don’t walk around with all of my guns strapped to my back. To me, it’s just a fun world to be in. I feel no pressure in doing a task I don’t want to do over and over like COD or Destiny. I feel free. And no matter what I do, there are always two rewards: those that the game gives me, and those that I find in just living in that world for a little while.
Again, it's all a matter of perspective. If the OP doesn't find the world engaging enough in RDO, then maybe it can feel like it's a grind to him. .....same can be said for the way you feel about CoD:MW.
For me, MW is fun playing with my friends in hardcore modes. I spend most of my time with the gunsmith rather than worrying too much about my progress with the Battlepass. For me, BP is more of a long term goal and that all depends on what is available. I spend most of my time just enjoying the game and messing around with my weapon customization, leveling, unlocks, etc.
.......btw, I also find the RDO game world engaging for some of the same reasons. There is a grind aspect to the game but if I didn't enjoy playing the game, I would have deleted it from my HDD long ago. ....same with GTAO, CoD:MW or any other game with rewards, in-game cash/purchase systems/ level unlocks, etc.

As for your general attitude toward the game, you really need to examine exactly why you’re play it to begin with. I play it because I love the Wild West. I love immersing myself in that world and letting the real world melt away. Outside of PVP, this game is not competitive and it’s an easy way to blow off steam after work — unlike more competitive games (ie COD) where stress is always high and rewards are low.
....guess it's a matter of how you blow off steam but a game like CoD:MW can do that too. ......and while these are two different animals as far as genres, the idea of grinding for rewards is the same. The new gunsmith is a perfect example of that where players have to grind for XP to level up their weapons which in turn unlocks new accessories. Then there's the Season Pass progression which unlocks freebies every 10 levels or so or you can unlock them by purchasing. There is a lot there but you have to grind for it.
RDO is the essentially the same way. You have to put in the work to get the in-game cash and/or GB. .....or you can take a shortcut and buy GBs to unlock new roles, certain items and so on.

-
.....you're doing something wrong.
Of course you have to grind for in-game cash and/or gold nuggets/bars. You can also buy the latter if you want to.
If you just started playing RDO, of course it's going to feel a little overwhelming. Just start out with smaller goals buying your way through the essentials that you need first that will help you make more money and so on. That's just part of the game.

.....yeah, I really don't have a collection of westerns. I do like a lot of old ones though (50's - 60s) probably because I'm old myself. I do like some of the more grittier ones from recent years and found some of those from the 80's / 90s don't hold up so well (although perhaps were cool when they came out).
Cowboys and Aliens..... That was one of those I had low expectations of and while it wouldn't win any awards in my book, it is still entertaining. Must be because I like sci-fi as well.

I don't know in that case. Perhaps it was a special item in the catalogue that is no longer available. .....although being T-shirts would surprise me.

Check out Squad and Arma.
.......I'm on console. I stopped building PCs when I bought a PS3.
I used to love the Operation Flashpoint series which were the precursor to the ARMA games. If I were still gaming on PC, I'd certainly be looking at games like SQUAD, ARMA 3, Escape from Tarkov, Insurgency, Hell Let Loose, etc.
PS3 had a few good tactical shooters like a couple of the Flashpoint games that were ported, MAG and a couple others, but PS4 has been lacking. Ghost Recon Wildlands helped scratch that itch with it's lethal gameplay but still fell a little short although still quite fun in it's own right.
We finally got DayZ a little while back (which started out as na ARMA mod) but unfortunately it's still buggy as hell. ....still, it's essentially ARMA combat which is cool but it's about as hardcore survival/milsim as you want to get (e.g. having to manually refill your magazines, clean your weapons, maintain food & water intake, etc.).
Some think the new gen consoles will be the gateway to new tac shooters coming on board and I think they are right.

Too many to list from the past but from recent memory and still relevant to me at this point in time:
RDR2
GTAVO
CoD:MW (online)
Ghost of Tsushima
I'm really yearning for a good tactical shooter though. I am disheartened by the fact that the Insurgency Sandstorm console release delayed yet again but there are some promising titles on the horizon like Zero Six.

Edit: Idk where to type this tbh. its pretty useless to send a feedback to rockstar as they never really listen to what i type them, and i want to show everyone on this forum this problem
While I can empathize with your problem, this is pretty common knowledge for PC gamers especially those playing GTAO or RDO. .....although it's a problem in other games too.
It's a shame but I know it's also a never ending battle for developers. Some games are easier to curb this kind of behavior and others are not. ......some devs do a better job of it and others do not.

they just wanna release their frustration at the moment and that's it. life goes on..
I understand that. We all do a little venting every now and again. .....some more than others but we are all here taking part and interacting.
I guess what I don't get is why someone would waste the effort explaining all that on a public forum and then never return to read or answer the replies. It's just a waste of everyone else's time IMO. It would have made just as much sense if they wrote this in Word, deleted it and then moved on with their life in that case, right?
.....c'est la vie I guess.

i doubt he/she'll read anything here or visit this forum again. One of those "one shot one kill" posts/members.
Pretty much. Joined 11 days ago, posted and hasn't bothered to come back. Why even bother if that's the case. I don't get some people.
-
Yeah, not a fan of the CoD campaigns for that reason and in fact, MW was the first title in the franchise I've purchased in years. .....but the reason I bought the game was for the online content even though I did play the SP part and it was kinda fun.
-
Days Gone was really buggy when it came out. Still has some residual glitches but not any worse than other titles IMO. ....I got it at a deeply discounted price not long ago.
I like the story although the gunplay feels a little disconnected not unlike R* titles feel to me. It's still fun though.
I liked TLOU and even repurchased / played the remaster on PS4. However, I didn't buy TLOU2 because I don't particularly like the "on rails" experience although the story made up for it in the first iteration of the series and I didn't particularly feel engaged with the character(s) / theme / story in the latest one.

SPOTTED: LEGENDARY MUD RUNNER AND SNOW BUCKS
Now in Red Dead Online
Naturalists meandering in the Heartlands of New Hanover or the woods of West Elizabeth should sharpen their tracking skills and stay alert for a pair of Legendary Bucks.
The fabled Legendary Mud Runner Buck - with its aggressive nature and piebald coat that sets it apart from the more common bucks living nearby - has been spotted in the south of The Heartlands by Flat Iron Lake. The vigilant and fleetfooted Legendary Snow Buck can often be found grazing near the Aurora Basin.
Photograph, track, sedate and sample them in all their natural splendor and Harriet will be pleased to reward your efforts. Alternatively, hunt and skin the beasts before bringing their pelts back to Gus to adorn your trophies.
These Legendary Bucks are said to be most active at daylight, during dry weather.
You’ll receive 50% more XP (as well as Role XP) and monetary payouts for returning Legendary Buck samples to Harriet. And while Gus will not be able to craft coats from intact Legendary Buck carcasses, he will gladly purchase these carcasses and pelts from you for 50% more RDO$.
GUS' STORE
In addition to offering 50% bonus payouts on intact Legendary Buck carcasses and pelts, Gus will be positively thrilled to aid you in crafting either the Mud Runner Coat or the Snow Coat.
WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER FREE ROAM EVENT

There is a selection of new Emotes available in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue this week, including: Hypnotize, Sniff, Check the Time, Prayer, Cougar Snarl, Coin Bite, and Shrug.

Speaking of discounts, Naturalists might be wise to take advantage of 40% off all tonics in Harriett’s Shop. While those on the hunt for fashion can take 30% off all craftable Coats in Gus’ Store, plus 30% off all Trinkets.

Yeah, I like the game a lot. As far as the parallels to RDR, Nate Fox (GoT Director) said that game was their number one inspiration.
"I would say the number one inspiration for the title was Red Dead Redemption -- not Red Dead 2 but Red Dead Redemption -- because they did such a fantastic job bringing the fantasy of being an outlaw cowboy to life."
I haven't really paid attention to the camera angle so I guess it doesn't bother me as much. I did fear the combat would be "button mashing" but it's actually done quite well. I like that they didn't go overboard with the fantastical elements in the game as the world still feels grounded.
I took a break from it to finish Days Gone first but I will be returning.

Just an fyi..... Rockstar doesn't have a forum and this site has no affiliation with them nor Take Two. They do have a feedback site but it's more of a suggestion box as they don't provide replies.

Forgive my (For sure) Stupid question here mate, but do i understand correct, that you have an external drive connected to the back USB on the ps4, and have all games run from that one, and not the internal one? - I dont want to (as it is right now) change the internal drive, and was hoping for a reliable drive that would work as an external.
If so, can you recommend a brand? - Or do i just go for the speed of it? Im seriously on a confused path here
The USB ports are actually in the front (I have the original PS4). They are the high speed USB 3.0/3.1 ports.
I bought an external 1TB Samsung T5 SSD. I got mine for just over $100 on sale IIRC. I think you can pick them up usually around $130 or $140.
....so yeah, since I discovered the SSD was actually faster than the internal HDD even thru the USB port, I have all my main games installed on that instead. It just needs to be formatted from what I remember so it works with the PS4. IIRC, you can do that through the system but it's been a while.
EDIT: This is the SSD I am talking about although this price for $190 is way too high. I've seen it on sale from time to time around $139 so it's always best to shop around. May also want to check out the T7 and the differences between the two (T7 may be better and it looks like it's even cheaper):

While I can appreciate you giving folks a heads up...... 1) We have a "no name & shame" rule (I removed the mention in you post). 2) This isn't the thread for it. I'd like to keep this about the recent patch and fix(es).
I would suggest you or anyone else who runs into suspected cheaters, griefers, etc. to use the in-game tools when possible to report players and/or R* Support.
My personal suggestion is to not engage with folks like this if possible. Report and move on to another session.
Thanks.
