They revealed that there will be an "expanded and enhanced" version of GTAV released in the second half of 2021. GTAO will be free for all PS5 owners for 3 months once it's available in that same time frame which indicates it might be sold separate from GTAV.
Until then, R* will be giving away $1million in in-game cash to GTAO players until release.
One of the big questions that need clarification is whether the new PS5 GTAO will be free forever for current GTAV owners. Also, will the PS4 version of GTAV/O be playable on PS5 at launch.
PS5 is supposed to be backward compatible with PS4 but the games have to be updated for it There are going to be quite a few that will be ready to go at launch of the PS5 and many more to follow they say. I'd imagine most games that are still relevant at the time of launch will be made to be compatible at that point or soon after. I can see RDR2 being among them.
Also, any PS4 titles that you can play on PS5 could have the advantage of higher frame rates, faster load times, draw performance, etc. without being specially enhanced. I'd also imagine some games suffering from performance issues might find new life on the new consoles.
The fact that they are creating a " remastered" version of GTAV makes me think that GTA6 might be a ways out.
Perhaps we'll hear more about RDR2 and other titles compatibility on PS5 soon. Also waiting to hear what else R* has in store. Sony said that yesterday's reveal was just the start. There is much more to be announced before release.
"We said that the PS5 has been designed to play PS4 games. We're going through the process with the publishers and developers testing that rather exhaustive library of over 4,000 games. We're happy with the progress that's been made," Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan tells CNET. "

Kean's edit summary says a Reddit link was removed. Maybe he saw it as self-promotion?
In any case, I'll have to try that next time I replay the game. I'm currently long past that mission.
The post itself appeared to be a cut and paste and included and odd link to Reddit along with formatting that it made it difficult to read. I removed the link and reformatted the text so it was easier for folks to view.

Post your specs. It will help others help you.
.....moving this to the PC subforum since it is PC specific. Let's hope someone answers with some advice. I see you've posted this on Reddit and Steam. ....guess they didn't have the answers either?

Play it strictly for Warzone. Low investment threshold and every game is different.
I got tired of it. I never liked BR but I did like Plunder. What I absolutely hate however is just how bullet spongy the damage is especially with the armor. I will only play hardcore and usually only TDM and TDM Kill Confirmed. I also dabble in the co-op modes from time to time.
We usually have enough folks on to just about fill up a team (4-6). It's a blast with a team full of friends as we can start using tactics.
I'm still waiting for Insurgency Sandstorm though as it's more my style in regard to military, tactical shooters. There's another that's coming which is heavily influenced by SOCOM. ......although they want to make it more realistic. It releasing on PC first and then console. It's called Zero Six: Behind Enemy Lines.

That's why I haven't played in six months. The online just never quite worked for me, despite every possible fix attempt, and I got tired of spending more time in error & loading screens than playing the actual game.
But I must be a glutton for punishment, because I'm actually considering firing it up again in the near future.
Yeah, I haven't touched the game in several months myself. Just waiting for the next update whenever that may come.

I always thought that you keep both. I open the weapon wheel, point to the Springfield, and then move the stick (Xbox 1) left or right to cycle between the two or three.
Maybe I've got it wrong then. I haven't played in months.

It's not that I want to keep weapons I pick up, but now I'm wondering whether they replacing existing weapons which are usually a lot better because I've improved them
No, they shouldn't but my suggestion if you're really worried about it is to just stick with your own custom weapons.

Maybe not worded quite right but I have Springfield rifle with improvements on my horse..I get off and have a walk and pick up an old worn Springfield.. what happens when I get back to my horse, which Springfield rifle do I end up with?
You can't keep those weapons you pick up like that. I honestly don't know what happens to it when you jump on your horse. I don't know how long they stick with you or what may trigger their despawn like certain actions, etc. Why don't you try it out?
....as for why someone would want to keep it, there's really no point in that either especially since we are not able to sell them.

The only weapons you can keep are those that you buy or are gifted, etc. These are added to your inventory and you can only have one of each except with sidearms.
1 hour ago, harry747 said:unfortunately not. once you pick up a weapon, you can not get rid of it. you are stuck with it, even if it is the most useless piece of junk ever made.
You can buy a weapon locker that is made available through the Trader Role and get it out of your inventory that way. .....similar to GTAO.

....and to be clear, I'm just posting this as a notification to folks in case they try to log on during this time and are wondering what is happening, not as a springboard for a debate, etc. Thanks.

While Stadia continues trucking away and we'll be seeing more game streaming in the future from Microsoft and possibly Amazon, gaming up in the clouds hasn't really shaken things up yet. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is among those who haven't been wowed by the technology so far, believing that Google may have overpromised.
"The launch of the Stadia has been slow," he told viewers of the Bernstein Annual Strategic Decisions Conference (cheers, Gamespot). "I think there was some overpromising on what the technology could deliver and some consumer disappointment as a result."
Back in November, Joanna was impressed by how well Stadia worked with games specifically designed for it, like Gylt, but was less convinced by the performance of games like Destiny 2, where pixelation and stuttering were serious issues.
"Stadia is just like all the other cloud gaming platforms I've tried," she said. "Often great for singleplayer games, terrible for multiplayer if your internet isn't up to snuff."
Six months later, this is still the case. In some cases, the barrier for entry may be even higher than the alternative. A new console isn't cheap, but it's easier to buy one than it is to wait for your area to get the infrastructure needed to enjoy problem-free cloud gaming.
Zelnick also questioned the size of the audience. Take-Two released a trio of games for Stadia at launch, expecting to increase the pool of players, but now Zelnick isn't certain that there are enough people who want to play console games but don't already own a console.
"The belief that streaming was going to be transformative was based on a view that there were loads of people who really had an interest in interactive entertainment, really wanted to pay for it, but just didn't want to have a console. I'm not sure that turned out to be the case."
This doesn't mean that the publisher is done with the platform. Zelnick says that it will continue to "support high-quality streaming services", but only if the business model makes sense.

I've tried all of your suggestions and I've reported consistently. They don't care. Leaving sessions no longer works, they follow you to a new one. They have now started something new (God Mode) you can't even pay them back. They stay blue and you get hits for murder. It's all well and good for you to give suggestions on how to avoid the hackers but why should we have to??? We payed for this game, they should make their customers happy and fix it. Until we get loud enough about it and it hits them in their wallets. They will do nothing.
Well, I don't know what to tell you then.
Did you also read that part about RDR2.org being a fan site? We're not affiliated with R* nor Take Two. There are no R* representatives here and there's nothing else we can do other than trying to give advice as to how to deal with it.
If you don't like that advice or feel it isn't helpful, etc., what else do you want from us? Don't confuse my trying to give options as some sort of excuse for the issues you're experiencing with R*s product.
-
First, welcome to the forums.
As for reporting players, the only way you can do that is via the in-game reporting feature or through R* Support. If the option is greyed out, I'm not sure what to tell you. It may not be available during races and perhaps only in other sessions like the open game world, PvP, etc. I really can't say for sure.
I did remove the user name you mentioned as we do have a name & shame rule here. I'm sorry you're having issues with that player but my only suggestion beyond trying to report it is to try and find another session to play in to get away from him.
P.S. I am also merging your to threads together as they are similar in that they both talk about your issue reporting players. I adjusted your title to address both your problems though.

Well... I try of course the (fake) tickets, but also only pure 101% bots. Not even once sentence as real communication.
But at least you're real, thanks @Foxtrot
Just keep in mind that RDR2.org is a fan site not affiliated with R* or Take Two.
Also, you need to realize what Foxtrot said about tech support and the potential impact COVID-19 might play in this. R* could very well have CS that is outsourced making the situation even more difficult if their governments have shut down operations. Having said that, R* was already struggling after the PC release before the virus was even a factor so this current situation would only make matters worse.
.....not much else to say or do to be honest but if you have specific issues, feel free to post about them or search around the forums to see if someone has any tips on a workaround, etc.

Yeah, well, enjoy it while you can, because you could be in my shoes before you know it.
I've had people telling me that for years but yeah, if that day comes I'll just have to do what I need to do. .....whether that's paying more for an unlimited service, etc.
I know our usage isn't going to likely change and we'll just end up paying more. ....c'est la vie.

I skipped years of CoD mainly because of the run & gun PvP and I felt the "on rails" campaigns were dated, too short and lacked any replayability for me. .....still do.
However, their focus on weapons this time with more grounded benefits / drawbacks to their accessories was a real draw to me. Their weaponsmith is great and although I wish it was a more tactical game (still too run & gun for me even with the toning down of those elements), my friends and I are having a lot of fun with it in the Hardcore modes where lethality is drastically increased, markers are essentially removed (aside from UAVs, etc.), no kill cams, etc.
In either case, it should help get us by until Insurgency Sandstorm launches this August.
....sucks to have the bandwidth limit. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that.

Yea, I never played any rockstar game before, I love mostly games like Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Skyrim, Horizon Zero Dawn.
I love those games as well.
R* games tend to me more about their stories and their worlds which can be very rich in detail. They also aren't afraid to delve into the gritty or seedy side of society, etc. Many of the characters in R* games are flawed. ......some more heavily than others. However, they can also have some redeeming qualities and many times (as the player) you also feel conflicted in how you feel about these characters you play and interact with.
I like that it's not so cut and dry with John Marston in RDR1, Arthur Morgan in RDR2 and Trevor, Michael & Franklin in GTAV. ....although Trevor was a really bad dude with a ton of issues, there were still moments you kind of felt sorry for him.
That's just the way these games are. Similar to how I felt with Lincoln Clay in Mafia 3. He was a bad dude that did bad things but in a way you felt he was justified in doing what he was doing. In that game however, he didn't necessarily start off bad but instead ended up that way. I would never condone what he ended up becoming in real life but then again, I kind of understood him too.
27 minutes ago, Lancerx78 said:I understand, Don't get me wrong, its not that I think this is a bad game, I don't. I think the story telling and voice acting is quality, its pacing is a bit slow at times, game has its fair share of bugs, but its enjoyable enough. Its just I personally don't like playing characters this morally ambiguous. Its hard to care about ruthless killers after all but I still think its a good game, I was just hoping the story for me anyway gets a little better. I will see, I don't want to make any judgments about the game too soon.
I'm not going to spoil anything for you but I will say that his situation isn't static. His situation and relationships do become more dynamic as the story progresses.
Who knows, maybe you will even begin to like him as you experience new moments and the changes he experiences. He's still a bad guy, no doubt, but there's things I grew to like about him as the story progressed. .....not unlike some characters in western and outlaw movies.
27 minutes ago, Lancerx78 said:EDIT: I will say the mission where you take the kid fishing was a nice change of pace, was the first time I actually enjoyed doing a mission in the game. Just left Valentine, trying to save the family at the dried up lake or whatever, hopefully will get little better now.
I think you will find more of these situations as the story progresses. He does have a conscience.

They addressed that in February after Season 2 but yeah, on PS4 it's currently at about 189 GB.
In my case, I purchased a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 external SSD earlier last year so I have tons of space. As it is, I have 14 of my games and 17 of my son's games loaded on my system which includes CoD:MW. Before that, I was always running into storage problems having to decide which game(s) I would delete to make way for new ones. As is it is now, I have 320GB to spare.
.....but yeah, MW is massive compared to other games. The only problem I have with them personally is when I forget to download them before I want to play. The one before last was a little deceiving as it was in two parts. .....one required you to log into the game first which none of my friends or I did.
The file size isn't going to make me walk away from the game though. ....at least not anymore.
The PS4 was coupled with a woefully inadequate HDD. I always had problems with storage space. The ext SSD solved all that for me. I found one for $100 on sale at a local Best Buy. ....they normally go for about $150 or less. The thing is, it turned out that the SSD also performs way better than my internal HDD thanks to the 3.0 USB ports. Some rendering, loading screens, etc. are noticeably faster. I'll likely be using this SSD to compliment my PS5's internal SSD or as personal storage if not.

.....you do realize this game is about outlaws, right? I'm also guessing you never played RDR1?
Personally, I really liked the story and had a lot of fun with the campaign overall but this game isn't for everyone.
Also, the game gives you a level of choice in just how bad you are but it's still a story based on certain events that had happened in his life. He's not an angel but then again, some of the people including the lawmen (Pinkertons) aren't either which makes some of these encounters not so clear cut in that regard.
You may just have to face the fact that the game just isn't your cup of tea.

I dont play it anymore.
It realy irretates me that they keep dumping out map after map but dont WANT to add a map filter. About 90% of the maps are unplayable ubercampfest junk to me.
And while dropping the prestigue system sounded good in the beginning, it became quicky obvious that it is 100% needed, cuz why should you keep playing when you have reached max lv on the weapon?? skin unlock are allso just a 1 time thing that goes realy fast when you set yourself into it.
The game lasted me true the first season. By the time it ended, i had reached lv100 on the pass, gone to 155 for the 2nd time and hit max lv on all the OP guns, and the guns i found to be oddly wierd and fun to use. Last ditch grind effort i did was sometime in season 2 when that 1 week of xp boosts was added, i did the xrossbow to max lv and every single sidearm to max lv.
shortly after season 3 dropped i uninstalled.
Sill, IMO it is the BEST cod game released since cod4, and i find it kinda sad it will be dropped by 90% of the playerbase when the new cod comes in november, the game deserves 2 years alone on the throne.
Well, sorry to see you're not enjoying it anymore. My friends and I are still having fun with it.
I've actually been leveling up other weapons once I complete them and at times I'm just using my favorite load out. To me, the enjoyment comes not from the grind but the gameplay with friends.
I never used the prestige in past CoD titles and to be honest, this was the first CoD title I have bought in many years.
Plenty of folks still playing either way so I don't know what's going to happen when the next title releases. It may not be as well received as this one but I guess we'll have to see.
From what I understand its not in their plans that the main game continue on for years like other GaaS models ( think GTAVO, R6S, etc.). They are still currently planning to keep releasing CoD titles as they have. .....just like BF does. However, Warzone appears to be the one element that may remain throughout moving forward from what I'm hearing.
For me, the changes they made to this iteration of the series has been the best ideas they have had in a very long time.

Personally, I paid full price and felt the campaign (single player portion) was worth the price alone given the scope, the length, etc. It was a full game in itself.
I had been playing since the beta and I also got a lot of play out of the online portion of the game. ....well worth the $60 IMO. I know some have been experiencing issues and that's no excuse for R* not addressing them in a more timely manner but overall, I'd buy it again.
btw, I'm going to move this topic to online as it really doesn't have anything to do with trying to troubleshoot a specific issue but is more of just an opinion piece.

On PC? I'm assuming the former is restrictions placed on content created by the player (i.e. mods) while the latter is a complete suspension of the users account (e.g. can't log on to play, etc.).
