You've been a good moderator, but along with that, this has been a good group of folks backing you up, too.
I appreciate that and yeah, the community is what makes the forum which was the point I was trying to make.
This forum isn't huge but its growing and remains active. The community here has set the tone and it's a positive one. .....as mods, we simply try to help maintain that by assisting fellow members, help nip problems in the bud, etc.

I play on our 58" monitor (from a large tech company) that I used to work at for nearly 30 years. It's 7 years old and other than some features that I never had a use for (cloud) and frankly never worked right from the beginning, it's been an absolute tank in regard to reliability. The picture still looks great and there are no issues with the quality / performance.
I'm quite happy with it. I'm not sure what route we would go if we had to replace it but I'm not one to spend tons of money on the absolute latest in technology. ....but I also don't go the cheap route just because a mfg offers all those other features. I'd rather have a solid product from a solid mfg with perhaps the not so latest features at a decent price which still provides a great level of performance I can be happy with.
My mentality regarding computers was the same back when I was still building them. ......some other tech as well as a matter of fact (e.g speakers / sound systems, etc.).

I've walked away from forums like that. Im over the half century mark myself so I can relate as to how the gaming community, etc. has changed.
The temperament of this community here and general maturity of it is why I stuck around. I also like that they don't tolerate some of the same stuff that goes on in other forums, social media sites, etc. which is why I accepted being a mod when approached.
Personally, that's why I am quick to remind some (the very few that do) that what they may be used to getting away with on Reddit, etc. is not necessarily appropriate here. .....especially when it comes to disrespecting others of the community. I've got a real pet peeve about that.
When people here continually comment about how welcoming and friendly the community and atmosphere here is, it's good to protect that IMO.

Cool. That's good to hear.

1911 will come in a early shape. it is the only remaining singleplayer firearm that has not been added to online.
https://www.gtabase.com/red-dead-redemption-2/weapons/m1899-pistol
That early shape would be the Colt Model 1900 which later Browning used as the foundation of the 1911 design.
The M1899 in RDR2 is the equivalent of the FN M1900 which Browning also designed.

Just the rear bumper. In anything older, I would have just shrugged and left it. However, I have to hand the car back next year and I doubt they'd be impressed with the damage.
Well, as long as you get a decent painter and the body guys can install the new bumper properly you should be good to go.
When my wife got rear ended in her Forester, the body guys didn't really install the bumper as well as I liked and even the paint could have used another pass or two IMO. .....but she couldn't even notice so I left it as is.
If it were my car I would have taken it back but then again, I'm kinda OCD like that with my vehicles.
Still sucks though.

So @Kean_1, what's with the Owl?
I adopted from a meme that I started seeing 17+ years ago that had the tag line "o 'rly". Thought it was funny and started using it as my avatar in various places online.

Hi Oscar and welcome.

@Parzival, that's wild man.
btw, I edited my post earlier to try not to take away from the OPs post but looks like you beat me too it.

I have to book my Porsche into the garage after someone helpfully rear-ended it a couple of days ago.
Ouch. Bumper and/or panel(s)?

I just found out a guy that's been trolling the forum I help run might be getting sued for defamation and harassment, so pretty good right now. 🤣
Nice.
That really sucks when some folks simply can't just move on with life.
Luckily, it doesn't happen often around here that we have to address "issues" as the community is generally pretty mellow, friendly and just cool.
....but yeah, my day is starting out just fine today.

@Kean_1 I think having a ~ in the title of the previous 2 posts broke the internet. Would you be so kind mate as to remove. Ta.
We can't access them either so I guess the take-away from all this is to not use the tilde character in titles.

Ahhhh.... That too. I was already well in my teens by the time it came out.

I have said that on many occasions throughout my life.
NO ONE has had any idea what I'm talking about. Usually just get the blank stares.
I guess it's just us old farts that get 80's movie trivia like that.

I think if they changed settings on there channel to mature audiences it will be fine. I have found that we can't even post links to videos anymore on PlayStation messenger app. We can't link our grieve battles or new content links. Not sure if it's YouTube or PlayStation but they have put the smack down on posting links.
I haven't been able to post YT links in Communities nor the msg app for as long as I remember. Perhaps the latter I could but I always remember having problems with it. It would screw up the link and/or add "***" in.

As much as I know you guys are joking, I'd appreciate if we can keep threats of physical violence out of the discussion please.
Thanks.

Still sucks though that some things are still not fixed in terms of hunting and what not. I guess we have to wait around another week.
....or longer or who knows.
Again, there really isn't any news yet on this front. I've even been trying to get some kind of acknowledgment of the issue rom Support or confirmation they are working on it with no luck.
I do recall what I thought was a brief mention of it in one of the other patches but nothing really acknowledging the problem.

Hi Endor and welcome.
I'd wager that most here are typically well over 18 and there are even more of us around the half century mark or beyond than most realize.

I'm on Xbox and when I open my journal, it's just notes and drawings that Arthur made. No where to buy ammo there.
I've never seen a lock box at camp either, just the chest at the foot of the bed for changing clothes. I'm in chapter 3 if that matters.
The confusion is what Mr Smith refers to as your "journal", he actually means your "catalogue". .....where you can order things (not your journal where you have your notes, etc.).
So yeah, it's the catalogue I mentioned early on in this discussion and a couple times thereafter.

I think the animal spawns and camp issues are going to be something that would (could) be addressed on their end without the need to feed a hotfix or patch to us. Problem is that they rarely mention fixes like this and folks simply notice changes.
I'm not sure I've ever seen patch notes for fixes they take care of on their end either now that I think of it.
Either way, the Twitter comments for this update included literally hundreds of likes for the many comments about addressing animal spawns. I would suggest folks like some of those comments too or perhaps add one of their own. R* does see this stuff and maybe they'll finally say something about it and/or get the fix in place sooner rather than later:

Yeah, todays update says nothing about bugs fixes unless I missed something. ......I just glazed over it briefly.

Did R* fix animal spawns and camp spawns? I haven't been online to check yet.
.....the description I posted is all the official info I have seen for this particular update.

No problem. I get notifications from Twitter feeds I subscribe to and just post up news when I see it from R* about RDO / RDR2.

There was an update today so I logged on and.......................0x20010006 immediately! Tried again and I spawned in at my camp, only my camp wasn't anywhere on the map. It's just comical at this point. Does anyone now what this update was for?
Make sure to check the Online forum too as updates and discussions that are posted there that can also apply to PC. The PC forum was created for PC-specific topics like hardware, technical issues, etc.
