To expose you to the pvp grifers ofc.

This is R*, they have never made an RP game that dont encourage bad behavior.

Meh.....  I've never really been exposed when I did run out the clock. We've always been right there at the destination to make the delivery if needed.

What I'm saying is that it would make more sense to reward players for completing missions faster or perhaps get rid of the time advantages entirely.

.....as for encouraging bad behavior, RDO is far from a GTA experience in that regard. IMO / IME, R* has made quite a lot of changes to help mitigate the issue and/or to offer solutions for players to combat those kinds of encounters if they wish to.  Sure, griefing still exists in some form or another and always will in this kind of "one size fits all" solutions but it could be much, much worse than it is.

I play since introduction and have enough cash to buy a hole city. So @Kean_1's remark to enhance bigger treasure map payouts does n't interest me. I have almost all weapons/camp/shack upgrades and a more then enough cloth. So, money and XP does n't interest me. My only reward is earn/buy/upgrade high level-related weapon/horse advantages.

If R* does n't come up with practical high level advantages in due course I loose interest as a true daily player!

BUT MOST IMPORTANT I WISH EVERYBODY A HAPPY NEW YEAR😂

I'm not saying that suggestion specifically needs to be implemented. I'm just spitballin' ideas of other incentives besides gameplay advantages like higher ammo caps, etc. that can give high lvl players an advantage over everyone else.

I'm saying that I get why R* doesn't offer that and glad they don't to be honest. ......but there's could be alternatives for incentives like cosmetics and such.  As for more money, they could have more things to spend it on to pique people's interest.

....and Happy New Year to you too.  :)

  3. Kinda backward IMO.  Never understood this.

Personally, I also hate running the timer down vs. simply playing the game.  Just makes it seem so much more of a grind (for me at least).  .......and not in a good way.

Rockstar support is absolutely useless. I already wasted too much time with it and i don't recommend anyone to use it.

I can show you my dashboard and a couple of examples on how they close the tickets.

I don't know what else to tell you then.  You don't have to follow the advice but I will still recommend people submit tickets with them.  If people stop voicing their opinions, submitting their issues and providing feedback to R*, how does that help?

Seems you've had a bad experience with them and the game but that doesn't mean everyone will or has.  ....sorry you're situation is what it is.

I watched this video a few days after he uploaded it, found it on my recommendations. I didn't finish it. He is right with some of this stuff but he seems a bit bitter. I can't imagine being a fan of gaming and being this disappointed in devs.

He talked about it being harder to make games back then and it is easier now yet they still charge more.. This is hardly fair. Most games take longer and are more complex to make today. It takes an entire building of workers in some cases to develop one game. Releasing before it is "complete" is a way for them to test it and patch it. Again, another great option we have today that has made gaming better.

I grew up on consoles, started playing on PC in the late 90's. I have experienced both and gaming is in a good place right now, at least to me.

I admit I fast forwarded through much of the video but yeah, I agree.

I can't get on board with the idea that it is "easier" to make games now.  Tech has changed and quite frankly, devs continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with the new consoles and PC hardware.

Also, as far as charging more for titles these days, the fact is that game prices simply haven't risen that much compared to what they charged decades ago.  ....and agin, the idea that they are somehow "easier" to make now so they should be cheaper is baseless IMO.  Games back then were much more simplistic than they are now in many cases.

    I agree with you.

  6. From what I recall, the radio in your personal vehicle stays on the station you leave it on, will remain off if you left it off, etc.  Random vehicles are set randomly.

For the most part I find the radio station is where I left it although perhaps not always.  ......on console (PS4) that is.

In all fairness, accumulating money in this game isn't a difficult or time consuming task.

Agreed.  .....although I would have liked a lockbox option in the campaign to at least store unused weapons.

Wow!  Kean and you BOTH think I was singling you out... and you suggest it is I who is paranoid.

I gave a HANDS FREE (hold 1 F'N Button) method of doing the mission half the time (CINEMATIC)... which most unoriginal INSIDE the box thinkers would just power through shooting whatever...  Meanwhile on the clock and with shots possibly being fired at you.... unnecessarily... when 1 bottle can cost you $62 RDO.

I actually do not go and do bong hits every single time I make a delivery... The point was I have.. and I could again... normally i would just make a coffee, or take a crap... so maybe you have consoles in your bathrooms also.

    By holding 1 button......

So I tell that and a few of you say that is too out of the box thinking.. ysome of youd rather just power through as if these revenue agents were the real deal.. Its fiction dudes.  Efficiency is more important than griefing NPC's.   But its a game.. get your kicks where you want.

Ive seen people her complain about not being able to deliver 20/20... I gave instructions on how to always get 20/20.. simply....

But if everyone in thsi forum is going to assume I was speaking upon them.... Kean even said he was unsure why I thought his post was offensive.. NOTE: If you think I may find it offensive.... then perhaps it is your own guilty consciousness.. because I certainly never pointed fingers at anyone.

Actually I was aiming at Hickok... Not kean.. but he didnt know that either.

After a certain level experience seems pointless hickok.. but get your 70-200 exp for killing the agents and starting them chasing you EVERY time.   But when your max level in all careers and over level 100, experience is a time waster.

There are various missions that trigger solo rooms but you can only do legendary bounties if you do them regularly... For example the most I could get right would be a hard mission $$$.  I have the wagon and am level 20... but have not done a bounty since.  I'm here for moonshiner, dailies,  and outlaw pass 2... now just for dailies... and might give them up.  game is pretty lame lately.

I never use stealth mode as in defensive... We have explosive ammo for a reason and staying n defensive it will never get used.  I don't grieve so I am forced to wait until fired upon...

But yeah.... everyone assumed I was speaking on them...

For those who have not yet caught on... you can a shoot everything.... or you can just do the entire mission from a-z in cinematic mode.. unless they give chase .. and then you can stay in cinematic until AFTER the roadblock.... no roadblock has every damaged a single bottle from my cart when I just drive through quickly.

This was an out of the box approach... (I'd wager many do not eve attempt to drive through the roadblocks).... for those who want to do the mission fast and for maximum profit... If you want NPC's do a maggie mission when you want to leave the shack.. they often leave you closer to camp or fast travel.

If you want to shoot everything... That also works... less profitable I imagine for many.. but works.

    😄

I didn't think you were singling me out but you were speaking to those of us giving the viewpoints on the topic you criticized so yeah, I threw in my two cents since I shared in that feedback that seemed to bother you.

Seems clear I pushed your buttons and sorry that I did as it was not my intention.  Guess I'll be a little more conscious of what I bring up in our discussions next time.

....on a completely different topic, if you could do me a favor and not place all of those blank rows after your responses I would appreciate it.  It makes threads longer than they need to be. I don't know if you noticed but I've edited several of your posts up to this point to remove those.  It would save me the hassle of having to do that, thanks.

I had an issues with a few players the other day. They kept gunning me down. I tried to hop on another server but it kept putting me back on the same one which was annoying.

Is there some kind of incentive for players to do this while you are working on the moonshiner missions?

Not really.  ......unless the incentive is the enjoyment they get out of doing it.

I would encourage folks to submit their experiences and suggestions via the R* Feedback page if they find folks are camping out at locations looking to stop deliveries, etc.  It's obvious some of the mechanics need tweaking to make them more fair for business owners.

Free roam events and moonshine deliveries no longer work on my account. I'm not sure if they are just blocking it to some players or to all.

I think it's apparent that not all are experiencing the same issues as you or others in the same boat.  It's unfortunate that you are but several of these issues you continue to mention are not necessarily shared by everyone on PC.

All you can do is report these instances to R* Support or perhaps give the game a break for a while to see if some of these issues get worked out for those that are having them.

  11. Personally, I don't like the the idea of awarding high level players with more ammo, higher capacity on their weapons, etc.  .....things that essentially give them even more of an advantage over lower level players.  In that regard, I think R* did it right and I understand their reasoning for it.

I mentioned it before but loyal players that spend a lot of time in the game are already rewarded for their persistence with bonuses like mission multipliers, freebies, challenges, etc. that others who don't frequent RDO miss out on.   They are also making way more money and gold than other players do and yeah, they work for it.  ........but that's what it's about IMO.  Putting in the effort.

Again, I think cosmetic or "prestige" items are fine.  .......or even more in-game cash / gold rewards to buy more / new items.  For instance, the treasure maps awarded every 5 lvls could be enhanced with much bigger payouts at certain milestones in leveling.

IMO, they could do more for loyal players but I understand why they don't do some of things being asked here.

  12. Meh.....  Some of what he says has merit IMO but not all.

As for growing up during the birth of the industry, he missed out on at least a decade of it.  Those of us 50+ who were into that sort of thing would understand.  I spent many a day in arcades playing pinball and some of the first video games.   ......then first the consoles and PCs as they began to become mainstream.

The fact is, while I have fond memories of some games from the past, most simply can't compare to some of the titles from today in relation to complexity and quality.  Sure, some companies are becoming complacent and paying the price for it (e.g. Ubi with GR: Breakpoint).  .....but not all.

IMO, there is nothing wrong with GaaS if done properly and R* sets a benchmark in this regard.  This is where I think he is completely wrong.  R* wasn't complacent in throttling back their release of new games.  They chose to spend years developing and refining their more recent titles and it shows.  The idea was to create great games (a solid foundation) and continue to grow them by releasing new, free content.  There's nothing lazy about it in this case and as much as some want to vilify MTXs, they are what keeps the content coming even for those that never buy into transactions.  I'm not saying there are not examples of badly executed MTX models out there.  .....there are plenty, but he paints things with a pretty broad brush.  When a game has great bones, I don't necessarily want that to change or have to wait for a sequel to get new content.  I'm ok with them building on that instead.

    I could go on.......

Seems his experiences have mostly been with consoles.  Those of us who had been PC gamers even since the early days can remember what it was like to deal with bugs, patches, etc.   .....but yeah, cartridge games were more reliable although quite simplistic back then.  Personally, while I don't condone devs releasing unfinished games, I do like that they have the ability to patch, update, deliver new content, etc. on modern consoles similar to how PCs have always been.  There is an advantage there.

All in all, I don't think the state of gaming is as bad as he makes it out to be.

So you are saying that the bulk of the problems is likely a lot less? Eh, I don't think it matters either way. People are going to buy it if they want to play it and if they run into issues, they will either put up with them or quit playing.

What I'm saying is that you can't make a guess at the percentage of people having issues from total sales based on Steam reviews.  Id say there's a good chunk but this "30%" is just a wild guess.  .....could be more, could be less.  We simply don't know.

  14. 3 minutes ago, MadMatt said:

I think he was giving a rough estimation as it says Steam OR through Rockstar. Likely basing it on feedback from people on communities from this. Just my guess..

I got that but you missed my point.

I see the game is still on sale on Steam.

Was looking through the recent reviews and still a lot of people are complaining about the launcher and the game crashing. I have experienced it crashing a few times myself but I have still been able to play. I think at this point, the game is not worth the risk. It seems 30% of people who have bought the game be it on Steam or through Rockstar (for PC anyways) have trouble getting the game to run stable and it becomes unplayable.

......30% based on Steam reviews?  Ok, but realize many don't even bother to review the game on Steam or anywhere else for that matter. Those who have problems, I'd wager they tend to voice their opinion and / or seek help via these types of mediums.

.....point being that the actual number could be even lower as a whole.

I got a feeling that it will not be super easy to make money once the game become popular. I think they will start pricing things in an effort to get more people to buy Gold Bars.

More popular?  The game has been out for over a year.  I'd also say it's relatively popular already and the current economy is the result of tweaks they've already made along the way.  In fact, they made drastic changes early on in the beta because of the cost of in-game items were too high.

Also, any items locked behind GBs are essentially cosmetic.  .....and gamers love their cosmetics these days.  If anything, I think they will continue to add more items people can buy with gold like that to encourage more GB purchases.  I don't think they would necessarily screw with the in-game economy so that it's harder to make money in regards to progression.  That would further discourage any new players just joining the game who have to start from scratch in a game world that is much bigger content wise than it was a year ago.  .....many more things to spend money and gold on.  That in itself will encourage some to buy GBs.

As for high level rewards, players that spend a lot of time in RDO are already richly rewarded IMO.  While they haven't been able to benefit from all bonuses offered, there have plenty of giveaways of free in-game cash / gold, payout/XP multipliers, etc.  People that don't play RDo frequently miss out on a lot of that.

.......but yeah, special outfits, special gun skins and cosmetic stuff like that, why not.  It's a really popular thing these days and if it makes higher level players happy to have them, I think they should consider it as an incentive to keep them playing especially since there are no more unlocks after a certain point.
