so how do i RESTOCK then when i run out?

i was told their was a way. Instead of always going back to gunsmith to buy ammo all over again

If by restocking you mean your reserves rather than what your player is carrying, you can do that through the catalogue anywhere while in Free Roam vs. doing it in the gunsmith's store for example.

Ammo you buy by pulling up the catalogue will immediately be made available at the Post Office or your campsite lock box. You can buy way more than you can carry and simply resupply your character from that pool of ammunition at those locations.  That way you don't need to go to a gunsmith.

I just cant deal with the fact that i may be missing something from this game, i cant believe people would put stuff in a game that people could just totally miss.

I mean i know its for a more real experience but i literally have anxiety about missing something cool.

That's the beauty of R* games and why I like them.  .....the details.  Hell, I'm still discovering little things even after a year.  ....I try to avoid all walkthroughs, guides, etc.  tit

Too many devs dumb down this aspect of their games IMO.

I'm not exactly sure about this. I had 10 Gold Bars earned in game when I purchased 150 Gold Bars and they showed up once I logged into the game. I'm on the Microsoft Xbox One, is it different on the PlayStation?

I was referring to the way the purchased stacks work and the quote I added from R*:

Purchased Gold Bars not arriving in Red Dead Online

    Created December 14, 2018Updated May 23, 2019
    FollowPrint

Question: I bought Gold Bars in Red Dead Online, but they haven't all arrived in-game. When will I receive them?

Answer: Delivery of Gold Bars in-game is limited to a total of 500 purchased Gold Bars at a time. Purchased Gold Bars are delivered as full stacks based on the amount purchased.

Any amount of purchased Gold Bars over 500 will be held in reserve until there is sufficient space for all of the next stack of purchased Gold Bars to be deposited.

Example: If you purchase two stacks of 350 Gold Bars at the same time, only the first stack of 350 Gold Bars will be deposited to your account, until you spend enough Gold Bars so that there is room for the next complete stack of 350 purchased Gold Bars to be deposited.

"Far fetched" was a bad choice of words.  I guess I was just trying to convey my surprise of the topic.  WOW!!  Companies including R* take the game far to seriously.  I come from a different time.  I never would have thought that a person who has bought the game and console and paid for his/her yearly gold membership would have to worry about being kicked offline for taking short cuts.  A glitch in the game is a glitch in the game.  It's just a game.  It's fake money, fake gold, it's not like the person is getting rich off of distributing cocaine.  I guess I look at the game as free roam to be able to do what you want within your capabilities inside the game.  If you can understand what I'm trying to say.

That "fake" gold is also at the heart of RDO's MTX system so yeah, there's that.

As for short cuts, it depends what those are.  Using hacks and/or some types of exploits in online play can easily cross the line.  Again, those "members" should know that they are bound by the EULA for the game and their gaming system.  A "glitch" in the game can be a bit of a different story and can depend on how some people are taking advantage of it, it's accessibility, how often they used it (i.e. exploited it), etc.  This isn't necessarily black and white.

Hacks / exploits / cheating can also affect other players when they are used to gain an advantage in online play.  It can also affect the overall health of the player population because people aren't going to want to play in an environment where cheating is ignored.  .....and it will appear R* condones the act or simply doesn't care.

There are still exploits that exists that never really get addressed.  .....the MTU trick in GTAO for example.  Folks use it all the time to force themselves into solo, public sessions.  R* knows about it but does nothing to attempt to correct it from what I have seen.  I use it too simply because I don't like to play with randoms in that game but still want to experience the businesses, etc. only available in public sessions.  I think R* also also realizes this and may choose to ignore it so that folks like me still have that option.

......again, not necessarily a black and white matter.

I mean with the gold bars functioning differently depending on how they are obtained. It seems silly to have a cap one way and not the other. I find it hard to believe that was intentional for them.

The limit is intentional as that quote is from R*. Now, whether that's the way it works in practice or not, I have no personal experience. ....or if it has changed over the last year, no idea.

As for why the limit exists (or existed) for purchased GBs, I also have no idea but they have their reasons.

  6. 23 minutes ago, Moosh89 said:

The LeMat is technically cap and ball, yet in game it uses Revolver Cartridges. I would expect the same for the Navy revolver

Yeah, they take a lot of liberties with those kinds of aspects of the game including the reloading mechanics / speed, calibers / ammo, etc.  Personally, I think they could have been more realistic in that regard while still finding a balance between weapons fiddling with stats, pros / cons, etc.

So they tack on anything over 500 to your account and you won't actually see them until you start spending them? That sounds a bit silly. What if you come to find out two months later, the transaction didn't work and you can't get your money back from it?

They are in your account but won't show up in-game until there is enough room for the stack you bought to fit within the 500 GB limit.

Unless you find the nuggets (100 make a gold bar) or find physical bars in game, they won't show in your inventory.

He purchased them in the store.

@The_Liquor is correct.  They should show up in your inventory of gold if you bring that up on the display.  However, only 500 GBS will appear in your inventory at one time and if you purchased more than that, they will be held in reserve.

I'm assuming you completely quit the game and logged back in to see if they appeared?  ....and as mentioned, purchased GBs are for RDO (online) only.

Red Dead is getting nightclubs like GTA... o.O  Didn't see that coming at all. I am excited.

Yeah, that was my first thought too.  Pretty cool that they are integrating some of the businesses from GTAO like that.  .....with a different spin.

It hasn't happened to me and it seems far fetched.  But if R* does ban or punish for cheating or exploiting glitches, it is sort of childish to me.  I mean it's software for crying out loud.  It's basically a living software to be exact.  It's constantly being tweaked and adjusted for improvement.  Glitches and problems are guaranteed.  That's just how it goes with programming.  But to call it cheating or serve restrictions because you duplicated 75 perfect cougars, that's taking the game and business a little to seriously.

Now if your talking about smoking weed in gamer chat or dropping "F" bombs, I can see receiving restrictions.  Young ears always listen.  I've had my communication privileges taken away for talking "SMACK" to another player.  But I expected that.  Punishment accepted just like the $4 debit for purposely killing a griefers horse.

I'm no gamer.  I've played 3 games since Tecmo Bowl.  Red Dead Redemption, Farm Simulator 15 (I think), and RDR2.  RDR2 online is my first experience with cooperative play or whatever you want to call it.  I can see where figuring out glitches and learning how to trick the programming algorithms can be enjoyment of the game.  I just think punishments or restrictions for exploiting glitches in a video game is taking it a bit to far.  If it actual occurs.  I'm not tech savvy enough to cheat with glitches.  But more power to the next guy if he can.

Far fetched meaning there may be more to the story or far fetched that R* would impose a 30 day ban for using an exploit / hack in RDO?

The fact is that this is nothing new.  R* is not the only company to go after those who use certain hacks / exploits in online modes to gain an advantage over others.  R* has varying punishments where they may even remove in-game money earned through the use of cheats.  .....we all agree to the EULA when playing these games.

In the OPs case and the one other fellow, they apparently were duped by a griefer who seems to have wanted to get them banned.  My advice even before this came to light is don't join posses with randoms nor let them join yours.  You open yourself up to trolls.

I am guessing they will likely run an update in the future to make this more lively.

All of these things can almost be thought of as placeholders of sorts for new content.  .....ways to explore and create new roles, heists, missions and other activities.  I simply can't see them not doing something more with the trains in the game at some point.

As for the bugs, they are getting a handle on the PC side and I'm sure the issues with the camps, etc. some are having will be addressed.  I doubt that will stop them from creating new, major content updates every quarter or so like they have been.  ......one just released today (Moonshiner role).

    Uh oh,  them darn griefers!

Yeah.....  Just waitin' for those threads to pop up.

On a serious note, likely won't be anything much different in that respect to the Trader role (e.g. long distance deliveries vs. local).

  15. MOONSHINERS: A NEW FRONTIER PURSUITCOMING DECEMBER 13TH TO RED DEAD ONLINE

    2b506480b536c1cd86c7f0ac1b4e02247cf24ac7

In an America not yet fully governed by law, opportunity abounds for the lawless - wild open space ready and waiting for the ruthless and ambitious to carve a new future for themselves. How better to make your fortune than to become a black-market Moonshiner, the all-new Frontier Pursuit coming to Red Dead Online on December 13th. Establish your own bootlegging business in this new Specialist Role – an ideal fit for players progressing along the Trader path or anyone seeking a property to call their own. Unlock unique role-specific skills as you perfect your distillation methods, avoid the law, and put rival peddlers out of business. If you’re lucky, you might survive long enough to open your own speakeasy.

    f4988e3b39f4715be2b00b2fb61ae3c8a41d301e

Any active Trader who has completed a sell mission or reached Rank 5 in the Trader progression will receive an introduction via Cripps to meet the infamous Maggie Fike - an experienced bootlegger with the scars to prove it - down at Emerald Ranch. Maggie’s got the connections and the knowledge to help you get your business up and running.

Purchase a Moonshining Shack and you will be on your way. To passers-by, the Shack is an unassuming dwelling, the main floor acting as a front with all the details of an ordinary homestead. The basement, however, is where you'll ultimately get down to business.

    fc7aa083d8d30a5e89f037a35f6e3efe4ca4538f

Owning and operating the Moonshine business is just part of your role. You’ll also work with Maggie through a series of story missions to be played solo or cooperatively as you help her get revenge on those who tried to take her down. As you grow the business (and eliminate a rival operation), you’ll learn new recipes and techniques that help make your moonshine the best by a country mile. You'll also have the opportunity to set up your own underground Bar serving your own shine, with customizable décor and the option to add a country band complete with dance floor to entertain your friends and clientele.

Look for much more to come to Red Dead Online alongside Moonshiners on December 13th - including Outlaw Pass No. 2, new Moonshiner role unlocks, the new Navy Revolver, additional clothing options and an increase in the amount of outfit slots in your Wardrobe.

  16. I never really had a problem with headshots on larger animals producing perfect pelts (assuming they are perfect to begin with).  In fact, I've done a lot of herd shoots where I would get 1-2 out of 4 or so with 3 star pelts.

Have you tried?   Gators might be different than deer but I don't know since I rarely hunt for them.
