Update on the refund process. I haven't heard anything back from my first request, so I submitted a second ticket. It is completely unacceptable that developers when it comes to PC, release games that are ported so badly to the point that they are unplayable and expect us to just allow them to keep our money while we wait for them to fix it. Not me.
I had another issue with a seperate game that had issues that took away from an enjoyable experience and requested a refund which I received. Purchased that same game on my Xbox and atleast now I can play the game. I'll keep everyone in the loop of the refund outcome. So far, nothing yet.
Kinda not the point of the OPs thread but I hope you find a satisfactory resolution so you are able to leave this behind you.

Ha! Not used to an older gaming audience, hadn't occurred to me. Seems this game attracts more of an older generation, which is a good thing in my book!
Yeah, I've discovered there are quite a few here like me over 50 and others in their 30s & 40s. It's probably why the temperment around here is relatively mellow for the most part.

I'm in Portugal. but here everybody play poker. there's even poker on casinos and pubs... and the poker is working perfectly on the single player mode. poker is not forbidden in Portugal. I played poker on many many other online games.
ok. Just throwing it out there as that has been the issue with some.

oh damn! reached lvl 10 and no poker. looks like it's lvl 20, it'll take time. better forget it for now and return to the single player mode.
that's sad. i was really expecting to be able to play poker right from the beginning of the game online
Wait.... What country are you from?
It could very well be that it is restricted due to your local laws. There are several countries that are not able to access the gambling feature in RDO because of this. I don;t have a list of those but that could be the case here.

the weird thing about the camp is that i had it in lvl 1 and not anymore after lvl 2 or 3.
Something is up then. May be a bug or perhaps something you're doing / not doing? I rarely set up camps myself as I usually join other friends posses.

yep. online.
oh ok! i was just confused because in the first day i had a camp, then it disappeared, and there's an option on player menu but it doesn't work.
the bigger problem is to cook. i was using that cam to cook on the day the game was released. i was expecting to be able to set a small camp to rest, cook and craft.
Setting up camp seems to be a little bugged for some. Also, I can't recall if it's lvl limited or not.
Btw, you can cook at most fires that are "open". ...meaning that they don't have lots hanging over them, etc. I do this from time to time after clearing gang hideouts or when I run across them instead of riding back to my camp.
Fyi.... In case you were wondering, you can't sleep in RDO because the passage of time remains constant unlike in the SP campaign.

i lost my camp a few days ago and was never able to set it again. it seems bugged on my account.
i'll have to check on post office. thanks
btw... since i'm no longer able to set a camp i'm having some trouble finding a place to put the character to sleep. the hotels are also not available on level 7. will it appear to on 10?
You're still talking about online, right? You don't sleep in RDO like you did in the campaign.

ok. if it is level 10, i'm almost there
thanks
You should also get a treasure map awarded to you at that level so be sure to collect that from the Post Office or I believe you can do that from your lockbox as well at your camp. .....and then you get one every 5th lvl IIRC.
-
......I might add that R* (from time to time) has provided free money, gold, gifts, etc. simply for logging in to the game for example. They will also bonuses that increase payouts in certain types of activities at times in the weekly updates.
I forgot to add in my last post but remember also to check your Award progress in the Progress menu. For those Awards that you complete, there may be an option to reset it which will net you some gold nuggets and XP increase.
Don't forget about treasure maps that awarded at level 10 and then every 5th level thereafter. The cash payouts will vary but can be relatively significant at times.
The point is, there are tons of other ways to make money by simply playing the game, leveling up, etc. Look into those @JohnDew.

RED BEN CLEMPSON: RUTHLESS TRAIN ROBBER AND MURDERERPLUS NEW FREE AIM SERIES, WEEKLY COLLECTION, CLOTHING AND MORE
With Red Dead Redemption 2 now available for PC, all the latest (and forthcoming) updates to Red Dead Online including this week's Legendary Bounty, new Weekly Collection and much more are available across all platforms.
Authorities have placed a bounty on the head of one Red Ben Clempson, known for wreaking havoc on local train routes and leader of the notorious Red Ben Gang. Bold and brazen, Clempson fancies himself a bit of a dandy with a taste for fine tailored suits and haberdashery, making him easy for bounty hunters to identify should he choose to strike again. He and his gang were last seen stalking the train tracks in New Austin, looking for their next score. But be forewarned: Clempson is a known sharpshooter and considered armed and dangerous to all who dare approach.
Avid Collectors can earn their living this week by tracking down the Blood Flower, Chocolate Daisy and Creek Plum for Madam Nazar, thereby assembling the Herbalist's Collection. Deliver the collection to Madam Nazar directly or mail it via your local Post Office for a handsome sum. Meanwhile, crackshot players looking for a test of skill, reflexes and dexterity can assess theirs in this week's Featured Free-Aim Series, Sport of Kings.
The Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue has plenty on offer this week, including the Cardozo Vest, available for a limited time only. The Dunaway Coat, the Purkiss and Pearrow Hats, Union Cap, Farley Shirt and Tillson Sweater, meanwhile, are all permanent additions. Patrons can also browse new colorways of the Ledbetter Hat, Fuentes Poncho and Killiman Vest, plus new footwear options with the Parson Boots, Rowland Boots, Cerrada Boots and Cibola Boots.
The Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club and The Outlaw Pass on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 come to a close this week, ending on November 18th. Remember, all exclusive Outlaw Pass rewards up to your current Club Rank unlock instantly with the purchase of The Outlaw Pass and everything you unlock before November 18th stays with you permanently. Visit the Progress menu to view your Club Rank.
As an added bonus for players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Outlaw Pass holders who reach Club Rank 70 by the end of the week will receive an all-white Cardozo Vest, free of charge (in addition to acquiring all the debonair stylings and professional benefits The Outlaw Pass delivers, of course).
Collectors will be happy to hear that they can take 25% off the retail price of the Pennington Field Shovel and 50% off all Collector Maps, while also receiving a 25% bonus on RDO$ payouts on all Collector Sets.
PlayStation Plus members can collect the Page of Pentacles, Knight of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles and King of Pentacles Tarot Cards, simply by playing Red Dead Online any time before November 18.
And players who connect their Social Club accounts with Twitch Prime will receive the Bounty Hunting License for free and an additional 10% off the Field Shovel and Collector Maps above.
Stay tuned to the Newswire for more Red Dead Online news in the coming weeks, and head over to the Social Club Events page for all current special events, bonuses and discounts.

Here are some links to threads where the OPs have found solutions that work for them and other discussions sharing possible fixes you can try if you're having troubles:
-
When posting technical issue and troubleshooting topics, please keep in mind that RDR2.org is a fan site not affiliated with Rockstar Games or TakeTwo. We are simply fans like you of the game. However, we do have a knowledgeable community here with all kinds of backgrounds and experience. Chances are, someone might have the same problem as you and possibly even a solution or helpful advice.
Also, we would encourage you to submit a trouble ticket with Rockstar if you are having problems with the game. Even with known issues it's important that people continue to submit their reports with R* as it might help provide them with an idea of what the problem may be and perhaps even expedite a fix. Try to be as descriptive as possible in your feedback.
Below is the link to the Rockstar Support site. Responses are typically within 24 hrs during the week IME but I believe they ask to allow 48:
https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507
You can also submit suggestions and various feedback here if you wish, although you will not receive a response. This link is more like a suggestion box of sorts that Rockstar monitors:
https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback
If you find a resolution to your problem, please report back what worked for you. You solution may end up helping someone else.
....and please follow the rules. Please don't artificially "bump" or create duplicate threads on the same subject, etc. Everyone's issue is just as important to them as your's is to you.
Thank You

Still no love from Rockstar.
I womder if they are aware of the problem at all and are working on it.
All I can suggest is that everyone who has a particular problem should be submitting their own trouble tickets to R* Support and be persistent if you are not getting an answer.

there's a reason for multiple threads. when no response is available, the tendency is to repeat esp. to get the attention of anyone from Rockstar support. But yeah, i get ya. Rules are rules and need to be followed.
Well, a couple of things.....
RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or Take Two. This is a fan site and there are no representatives from R* that openly interact here.
To get the attention of R* Support, you can already do that through opening a trouble ticket via R* Support here:
The forum rules were created for a reason. The fact is that it's not fair to the rest of the community members if we allowed people to continually bump threads or post duplicates because they though their issue, topic, idea, suggestions, etc. warranted an exception above others.
It also clutters the forums and makes it more difficult for people to navigate, participate in discussions, find threads, etc.
Sometimes, reviving old threads is fine as is continuing a discussion which will naturally let topics filter to the top. However, posting "bump" to put your thread on top of everyone else's or creating multiple threads is not. Also, it's not like these threads in question are getting buried on the second or third page.
....so yeah, "rules are rules" but they were created on a whim. They are there for a reason and that reason is with the interest of the site and the community in mind.
Thank you.

I did what was advised online from updating drivers, graphics settings both ingame and via Nvidia, but it seems the freezes are exactly the same length of time (about 5 secs) and it returns to playability always. It can freeze during gameplay or cutscenes. I'm stumped. Anyone?
You've got at least one other threads on this topic so I am going to merge the two.

Im guessing that might be a problem since the online structure is very different than arma 3. Was also hoping to fiddle with gun sounds and for fun have some old spagetti western over the top sounds. Sounds in rdr2 are good though, but for fun.
I would look to GTAO for any sort of precedent. I know they have something similar but whether that is able to be possible in RDO is yet to be seen.

Hi everyone. Im here to share how me and my friends are feeling when we play FREE ROAM ONLINE as it says when u join in FREE << ROAM << 🤔
I will make it real simple.
1. I want to make a camp. Sure, but sorry we (Rockstar) decides where you should put your camp. How is this a nice way of doing it? We are Outlaws and we want to make a camp. And we make a camp 5m from a damn road? Really? Not only that the set up camp is broken from L-MENU. So you haft to do it by clicking TAB-set camp and then where and it works.
The camp placement in online is based on session population, where everyone else is camped, the state / region you choose, etc. You're right that R* does not allow players to set up camp in precise points that they want but you can choose the region / area.
If you feel something is broken or not working as it is supposed to (like the menu you mentioned), I would suggest opening a ticket with R* Support:
If you believe you have ideas that can make the game better, I would also suggest submitting your feedback directly to R* here:

3 hours ago, JohnDew said:2. POSSE as they calling it. You create a POSSE and you BUY a POSSE for 200$!!! And you think nice now we have a gang. No. Everytime someone joins your session or you invite them, you haft to invite them to your POSSE again even tho you did it 100times before.
Actually, posses of 1-4 players are free to create and join at any time. Persistent posses however are the ones that cost $200 but will allow up to 7 players to join together. There are also some other benefits as well. Friends can also rejoin posses without having to be invited as @Freakshow9191 mentioned. I just did it the other night with my friends persistent posse. In either case, it doesn't take much to send out invites in a regular posse.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:And not only that, you make a gang and a camp witch (Rockstar) decides where my camp should be.
Again, you can still choose the state / region you want the camp in but yeah, you can't choose exact locations likely for balance, mitigating griefing / advantages, etc.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:Your members cant even share money with you as a thank you for buying a posse for 200$. Or to upgrade the camp. No. . . nono. You haft to farm all that fk $ and upgrade the camp witch will take prox 2-5 weeks? If you play at least 5 hours a day. And that is just the camp. As (Rockstar) thinks everybody dont have a job so we have time for it right? But hey! You dont haft to play 5 hour + each day>>>>> Buy GOLD! 😴
I believe part of the reason R* doesn't allow sharing of in-game cash and certain other items between players is to help stem illicit activity like selling such things with real world money, hacking / cheating, etc. You can't exchange money in GTAO either. However, your friends can participate in missions with you and share in the reward / payments.
btw, If you're have to play weeks at a time for 5+ hours a day to make $200, you're doing it wrong.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:3. TRADER (YEAAYY) When you are out of supplies you need to do a mission! He ONLY TELLS YOU ABOUT THE MISSION but hey no direactions or what you really need to do. No lets make a big clue about it so you haft to buy the supplies. And that will take you what 3hours to wait??? My lord kill me. 😱
I know you're new, but you are now a member of this community. Go ahead and take advantage of that. Read the threads or better yet, create your own and ask the questions you might have about things you don't know or don't understand in the game. There are plenty of people here to help give you answers, direction and advice.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:4. Funny fact we all know you can have 1 deer on your horse and drag 1 by lasso. But birds? Well you can hang one on your horse but not 2 noooppee sorry birds are to heavy my friend. They probably weighs 200kg each right? 🤪
You can have one complete carcass of a larger animal like a deer on your horse, yes. .....but you're wrong about birds. You can carry two larger birds or smaller animals, snakes, etc. not just one. You can attach them on either side of your horse. Small birds/animals are stored in your satchel along with feathers, meat, etc.
Again, ask around. There are a lot of knowledgeable folks around here who can help you maximize your profits on hunting trips.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:5. We all know its $$$$$$ yes. Like i said before prices are good right? Well if you want to hunt, and have cool experience just hunt with your lasso or rifle you have. Because a bow costs 130$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah that seems legit. Cool. End of story right?
IMO / IME, the economy is hardly as bad as you are making it out to be. Of course you won't be able to buy everything right away, you need to be realistic about it. That is how the game is played and how the experience is supposed to be. IMO, things are a little too accessible in RDO at times. I'm about lvl 80 and have around $4,000 and 30+ GB IIRC. I really have nothing else I want to buy right now and haven't for a very long time. I have all the weapons I need/want, they are all upgraded and now it's just about horses (if I take that route), clothing and ability cards which I typically don't bother with much now.
It's been this way for me for many months in regard to not really having to worry about finances. In the beginning, it's all about leveling up to help unlock certain items, weapons, etc. Along the way while leveling up, you are making money just playing the story missions, side missions, by hunting and doing other activities. IME, if you don't want to grind for money, just concentrate on the missions and other activities that interest you. Believe me, the money will follow. I simply don't pay much attention to what pays the most but just enjoy the game as we play missions and enjoy other activities together.
3 hours ago, JohnDew said:To end all of this, i dont need to keep going. Its pretty clear, that you need no life with no job but if you are a youtube content guy/girl that has gaming as a your job. Well this game is for you. 😃
I get that you're having trouble understanding how the game works, but to suggest others here "have no life" simply because they are more successful at it than you is a little silly don't you think? We all have lives but also enjoy games like RDR2 / RDO. This is a fan site and why we are all here.
My suggestion would be to take some time and read through the forums. ....ask your own questions. Money seems to be sticking point for you so why don't you ask folks how to you can become more effective at making it in the game.
Believe me..... There are folks here that have or make plenty of money to buy the things they need without having to play every day let alone 5+ hours a day. I maybe play 1-2 nights per week with periods where I won't touch the game for a month or so.
Set the subjective notions aside and accept that perhaps some of your conceptions or ineffectiveness in the game may be in part due to your lack of understanding of how certain things work or how best to effectively tackle certain tasks / activites to maximize profits, XP, etc.
I agree with @Harlock1796 and the others....... It sounds to me like you're not giving the game a chance. Then again, RDO simply may not be the game for you. RDR2 / RDO is very successful but that doesn't mean everyone will like it or understand how to play it effectively.
Sounds to me that maybe even you just don't enjoy RDO / RDR2 which is perfectly fine and understandable. .....but you're blaming the game for that and most of your reasons simply aren't that sound IMO / IME which is why we're saying you're not giving it a fair shake.
If you decide to stick with the game, make sure to take advantage of the resource here. We have a community of friendly folks willing to help. You might even consider joining a posse that can assist in showing you the ropes, help provide tips, tricks, do missions with, etc. Just visit our Posse Recruitment sub-forum.

Nice.
It's a great game and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Just make a second account like @DiamondDave mentioned. Its really easy to do on PS4. I do the same on games like DayZ that only allow 1 character per account on each server. I have two accounts I use for that one and can make as many as I like.
....unless this isn't possible in your case as mentioned?
I know you can crate more than one in GTA. Personally, I would suggest submitting feedback via R*s Feedback site and request this feature.
