  2. Thanks @Volt for your contributions these past couple days since the PC launch to try and help people with their various issues as R* works through these teething problems.

I'm certain those in the community it helps sure appreciate it as do I.

I uh...............am not sure how to respond to that bc it has nothing to do with what I was asking.

Also screw your multiplayer. You and people like you are killing singleplayer games by incentivizing companies to pump out endless low effort MP content instead of giving us content that can be enjoyed at our own pace that has been carefully handcrafted by talented developers. Rockstar used to be one of the absolute best developers out there before people like you ruined it for everyone. Multiplayer is fine. Dumping endless amounts of money into it causing MP to become the sole focus is not.

I know its off topic but I've been furious about the rise of multiplayer at the expense of excellent singleplayer especially with rockstar that I can't help it.

I'd do almost ANYTHING to get expansions for Red Dead 2. Especially since I've always enjoyed RD infinitely more than GTA.

Probably will try that sometime. I really shouldn't have to, you know? That kind of information should definitely be out there. Hopefully since it will work on consoles offline the same goes for pc.

I posted this the other day in another thread but...  RDR2 stands as one of the best single player games in ages that took ~3,000 people over 7 years to create with a main story script of about 2,000 pages long, about 500,000 lines of dialogue, over 2,000 days of motion capture work, etc.   The level of detail in RDR2 sets a benchmark in the gaming industry IMO.  It was also a resounding success in sales and with the critics.

That doesn't sound like a company to me who has given up on creating single player experiences or has sacrificed SP for MP.   In fact, R* still stands as one of the few out there that do it right IMO and they tell us time and time again in interviews how committed they are to SP campaigns.   .....while other companies trim theirs down or chose to remove them (often backfiring I might add).

RDR2 is a huge, complete and robust campaign that tells a complete story as a prequel to RDR1.  RDO is a continuation of the game as you become the main character and choose your path in the RDR2 world.  A lot of the missions that are made available still tie into the main game.

R* has done a lot to create an environment for all types of players including those preferring to play solo.  It really has little in common with GTAO in that regard and is still evolving.

I have never been a fan of single player missions.

Online missions are so much fun and getting into PVP is good as well!

Not really what the OP was asking .....

The hardware I'm talking about is for running the game on the PC version which has nothing to do with stadia? what I was trying to say if people haven't got a PC capable to run it wait & play it with stardia pro! so hardware has a lot to do with it if you want to download the game from R*

I just saw your last remark about Stadia and about hoping folks can run it.

Maybe I'm unpopular for holding this opinion, but I'm just saying that if they indeed loved single player over multi player like was claimed in the article Newsbot posted, they'd be doing something for it even if it was just giving us new outfits, weapons, and horses to buy.

They never said they loved "single player over multiplayer" in the Newsbot post I believe you are talking about.  You need to take the remarks Imran Sarwar made into context.

This was in response to a question if R* was moving away from story expansions and why there were none in GTAV:

    Quote

"No, it was not really a conscious decision, it’s just what happened," Sarwar says. "With GTA V, the single-player game was absolutely massive and very, very complete. It was three games in one. The next-gen versions took a year of everyone’s time to get right, then the online component had a lot of potential but to come close to realizing that potential, also sucked up a lot of resources. And then there are other games – in particular Red Dead Redemption II. The combination of these three factors means for this game, we did not feel single-player expansions were either possible or necessary."

The good news for story fans? Rockstar not having the bandwidth for an expanded story campaign in GTA V doesn't mean no Rockstar games will have them going forward. "We would love to do more single-player add-ons for games in the future," Sarwar says. "As a company, we love single-player more than anything, and believe in it absolutely – for storytelling and a sense of immersion in a world, multiplayer games don’t rival single-player games."

Sarwar is simply stating what R* reps have been saying before and since about single player.......  They do love creating these SP experiences in their games.   He adds that he doesn't believe MP can deliver the same level of storytelling and immersion a good single-player component can.

Also, look at this remarks about GTAV.  He feels (as I do) that they delivered a massive and complete single-player game.    I also believe this to be true of RDR2.

RDR2 stands as one of the best single player games in ages that took ~3,000 people over 7 years to create with a main story script of about 2,000 pages long, about 500,000 lines of dialogue, over 2,000 days of motion capture work, etc.   The level of detail in RDR2 sets a benchmark IMO.

If RDR2 doesn't show a company that is committed to (loves) delivering an incredible single-player experience, I don't know what does.

I think he's talking about just normal free roam - given he's lvl 4 and just trying to ride to the next story mission.

....ahhhh.  Though he was talking about the topic of long distance deliveries.

    Just now, The_Liquor said:

No, I think once in long distance delivery, you are placed into a ‘mission’ sort of mode, basically you become fair game for anyone in the mood to mess with you.

That was my understanding as well.  ....which again is part of the design.

Well, I don't mean to hurry them up. Sent a message about 26 hours ago. Meanwhile do my best to find solution any other way. It's a pitty to wait a game for a year, then install it, start it and... find a very little, but very annoying bug. Of course their fix will be the best.

On normal days, my experience has been that they will typically respond within a couple hours or within 24.  However, their Support site say <48 hours.  I suspect most responses will be within 2 days perhaps a bit more if they are overwhelmed.  Common questions with known answers may get sorted much quicker.  ....who knows.

    Hopefully you hear back soon.

I agree with you and everybody has there opinion, but I think the wisest thing to do is wait for the next Gen consoles, since they will play like a true PC and you don't have to buy the game again! 😀 I still have my PS4 copy sealed (ultimate edition) and will wait with what I will do next year! Personally, what I read and hear everywhere I think it will be the Scarlett for me, since I really like playing older games (Batman Arkham Origins/Bully/GTA4) on a big 4k screen upscaled and with much better graphics!

It's going to be PS5 for me.  It will have backward compatibility with at least the PS4 titles which is all I want personally.  I can continue to play GTAVO, RDO DayZ and other titles I have or will be getting until then.

The thing is about PC for me is that it essentially has the market cornered on military, tactical shooters which is a genre I've always loved.  ......which can include survival games.  AAA devs on console always seem to dumb these kinds of titles down or go more for the run & gun, twitch spin.

......can't wait for Insurgency Sandstorm to some out on console in Spring.  Perhaps more of these smaller devs will start porting their titles over if they see others having success.  Personally, I think the market is bigger than people think as a lot of folks I meet are either former PC gamers who like milsim-type games or still do on occasion.

I just can't go back to building PC's because: 1) I hate the bi-yearly cycle of upgrading components to stay at the level I am accusom to.  2) I love the ability to plop on the couch, turn on the big screen, spark up the PS4 and start playing.

You know, I think it was Kean_1 that said somewhere in a thread (can't remember which sorry), you have to judge for yourself if it is worth it to buy it (again) on the PC!

Yeah....  That was essentially the gist of it.

No one can tell someone it's worth it. Each person needs to decide that for themselves.

Even if I was still building gaming PCs I doubt I would buy it again if I already had it for my PS4. On the other hand, if it were available at the same time, I'd likely go with PC instead in that scenario.

Personally, I'd be playing more milsim and tactical shooter games, flight sims, etc. if I had a gaming rig.
