  1. When they reply back that are aware of an issue, that's usually a good thing IME.  I've reported several issues since the release and whenever they told me that, I have seen fixes come out that resolve the problem for me.

Also, not all of their 1st tier reps get the word so they go through their script to clear cache, etc.  .....and sometimes folks come across problems that are simply not far reaching enough to show up on their radar.

In this case however, looks like it will get resolved.  .....most likely in a hotfix.  Sometimes these problems can be fixed on their end and don't require a push of a patch, etc.  If that's the case, I hope they at least tell people it's taken care of.

Will do from here.  I wasn't sure if the rule applies to this scenario because it was in free roam.

    My bad.

    No problem.

Yeah, it typically doesn't apply but given some of the cool discoveries people have been sharing, I thought it might be nice to err on the side of caution in some cases if you think it might be a bit of a spoiler.

.....but yeah, I didn't want to imply folks shouldn't be talking about such things.  It's good stuff.

    Thanks

Funny how in a period of several hours of gameplay the disconnect occurs when the horse cargo is at its most valuable...

I mentioned it before but it's a known issue according to R* Support.  I got them too.

I have been away for a couple months so I don't know whether or not this is new.  I noticed that when in defensive mode that you are pretty close to invisible on mini map.  I have watched other players in distance ride by on road and they  don't show on minimal.  I really like that if it is some of the new and even if it was implemented a while back.  Really helps people do there on thing if they want.

Yeah, I'm not sure either.  I know we both noticed that though.

  6. No problem.

It's funny....  A lot of folks bashed on the editor at first but then came to realize they weren't using the enhanced options to tweak all of this little details. In all fairness however, R* didn't make the advanced options that noticeable either.

So far I am very pleased with update.  Got some bugs yet but all and all it seems much more fun.  Now if they can keep adding new content on a somewhat regular basis it will keep me here.  Otherwise I will just go back to another game for a few months until they add the next one.  I think this is gonna be another long lasting game like they did with gtao .

Same here.  I like a lot of the new additions / changes.

The gunplay was never anything I considered "realistic" in this game nor in GTAO.  It's the whole experience that sells it IMO.  Gun fights seem more like simply going through the motions rather than something that's really engaging like a good tactical shooter.  ....but again, that's ok for me because I don;t mind the arcade-like mechanics of the weapons in a game like this.

Quite honestly, the reloads were already ridiculously too fast to be anything close to reality.  That was one thing I wish they would have slowed down instead and took into consideration when balancing the weapons.  This would have made guns like the side loading repeaters, the Schofield, etc. have an edge in that regard.  Also would have made having two sidearms more meaningful as the real purpose was typically so you had two fully loaded weapons at the ready given that reloading can take time, etc.  especially with an SAA, tube loading rifle, breach loaders (compared to bolt or repeaters), etc.

I would love more realistic mechanics in this game in that regard as it would certainly make engagements more exciting and IMO more immersive.

I never like the PvP events in this game as it was always full of twitch-like gameplay and run & gun tactics.

  8. There is an option (I think square on the PS4 controller) where you can enter more refined adjustments for your facial features.  Look for the command to show up on the screen as you go through the available options.  It's pretty obvious once it does.

It's been a very long time since I created mine so I can't recall from memory.  If someone else doesn't chime in, I'm sure it's only a quick internet or YT search away.

  9. No, there are not disconnecting people deliberately to keep you from performing tasks.  If they wanted to limit such things, they would add those into the mechanics, economy, etc. of the game.  They are not going to purposely cause errors in their own game to do that.

If you're talking about a 05x0000006 error, they are already aware of it and are working on a fix:

    It's a bug.  ......not a conspiracy.

I think anyone who expected CoD to change up their core gameplay formula had unrealistic expectations. It would basically be the same exact thing that Ubisoft is doing with GRB, just on the opposite end of the spectrum. They would be alienating their core fanbase.

And, in all fairness, I've yet to play any PvP mode that isn't run and gun on some level.

Yeah, I was under no impression CoD MW would depart from the fast paced gameplay that their core fanbase enjoys.  In fact, the devs even said that is what this game is still about.

You can run & gun in most PvP games but the deadlier they are and the more they limit certain types of movement, speed, targeting, respawns, etc., it can really tend to slow the pace as hasty, bold moves can typically lead to a quick death.  I like games that can be be played with a little more thought and coordination with your team.  CoD was never really like that IMO/IME.  There was some team effort but usually most depend on practiced routes / tactics based on familiarity with the maps, hiding spots, typical tactics, etc.  It feels more like people running plays in a football game.

I prefer games that give you a little breathing room and encourage team play, communication, support, coordination, etc.  SQUAD is definitely like that but like most other games in that kind of milsim genre, they are on PC.

The only other PvP game I'm looking forward to on PS4 is Insurgency Sandstorm.  It has a very lethal damage model, no targeting, FF, realistic reloading mechanics with a focus on ammo management, etc.  This game was made to fit between games like SQUAD and Battlefield and while it can be run & gun to an extent, it can also be played methodically and tactfully with a good team.  ....especially the co-op mode.  They even have a hardcore option that limit the movement speed further and encourages an even slower pace if you like.

In regard to MW, my only real interest is in the Realism mode (hardcore) and SpecOPs (coop).  Co-op essentially allows you to set your own pace and HC will depend on what changes that option makes to the gameplay (e.g. no markers, limited lives, lethality, no perks, etc.).  I still have to see how that pans out whether I'll be interested or not.

  11. Just an fyi....

Folks might want to refrain from providing too many details with some of these collectibles, surprises, etc. from the update.  ....or if you do, perhaps use the "spoiler" button to hide the text so folks can make up their own mind if they want to know.

I'm just saying that some members may want to discover some of these things themselves like you folks did without being told about it first.  I appreciate it.

Hmm I havent had any connection issues are you sure it isnt on your end or on your isp maybe? I am not hearing a lot of people saying they are being disconnected.

Either way Im sorry to hear it that stinks man.

There have been quite a few folks with the error which isn't unusual after updates in the past.

Luckily, this is already a known issue according to R* Support and they are working to fix it.

  14. Hi All,

I know some folks have been experiencing the infamous 05x0000006 error after the update. I reached out to R* Support because I also had this issue and wanted to know if this was a known issue.  Turns out that it is and they are indeed working on it.

    Quote

Be aware that this is a known bug and that the Rockstar team is working to fix it.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide a fix estimate, but it will certainly be fixed on Rockstar servers or some patches in the future.
If the patch is made on the servers, you can monitor periodically.
We are very sorry that this happened to you, but we are reporting that we are receiving similar reports from other players and nothing to be fixed from your side.
We apologize again for the problem and appreciate your patience while we await the solution.

Again, I can't stress enough how important it is for people to continue reporting bugs, etc.  Even with known issues, the more complaints they receive, the better our chances are of having such problems prioritized.

Thanks and I hope this helps some who have felt discouraged by this particular problem.

  15. Hi @TE-SACO-LACACA and welcome to the forums.

I combined your two posts together.  Also, I would suggest contacting R* Support here:

    https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.43558054.2087167984.1568304309-1683053243.1568304309

There seems to be a number of folks experience this error since the update and the more people who submit trouble tickets about the issue, the more attention this error will receive.  They will likely have you go through the usual routine of clearing your cache, etc.  but be persistent if that doesn't work.

I'm very excited to give it a spin! It's been so long since I've actually bought a Call of Duty that was actually worth checking out. I'm excited about the Beta, definitely want to give it a go. I usually get hooked on betas, and then eventually get tired of a game after a while. I guess that's just the nature of games, but it's hard to say if this game will be good because it isn't out yet. I try not to get to confident in betas, as Call of Duty is NOTORIOUS for micro-transactions. If Call of Duty can stay away from micro-transactions, I think this game has huge potential in a long life, as previously, Call of Duty games get boring very fast with micro-transactions and the lack of innovation in the franchise.

They finally changed the engine, movement system, and pretty much everything about the game that makes it different from the other Call of Duty games. I guess we will just have to wait and see how everything plays out!

I am happy that they went the direction that they are going but unfortunately (for me), MW may still be a little a little too twitch-shooter for me.  The 2v2 was run & gun on steroids.  I prefer more team based tactical gameplay with squad-like tactics.  Something more methodical, deadly and realistic in relation to movement speed, etc. to help force players into thinking more rather than charging ahead.

To be honest with you, I am way more hyped for insurgency Sandstorm as far as a PvP and co-op experience.

I do like this change in tack though that IW is taking the CoD franchise and I hope it is really well received.  Perhaps some of these AAA companies will begin to make more "grown up" games for those of us who used to really enjoy the old, lethal, tactical titles from the past.  I really think there is an untapped market out there for this segment of the community on console.  ....not just PC.

Even that mess of a game DayZ has found a dedicated fan base on XB1 and PS4.  When they introduced private servers for rent, the response was overwhelming.  ....overloaded their lobby system.  Just think if they actually would have released a relatively bug free game instead of one that still plays like an alpha.  Hell, even my friends and I still enjoy it with it's frustrating faults.

If the Realism and SpecOps modes turn out to be something that ticks enough boxes for me, I'll end up buying MW.
