Yeah..... You figure, we've got anytime between now until the end of September for the Summer Update to hit. Personally, I'll wager it hits in Sept.
Either way, I'm playing other games right now anyhow so I'll simply revisit RDO then or maybe a couple times before.

To be fair RDO released on 11/27/18. .....8 1/2 months ago toward the end of calendar year Q418. ....3 1/2 months away from a full year (more than a quarter).
Like GTAO, R* has created a fairly unique gaming experience with RDO. I really can't think of other games that fit the same mold. Sure, they share similar elements but it's not like we're talking about BR games like PUBG and Fortnite. .....or hardcore survival games like ARK, the Forest and DayZ. .....or FPS shooters like CoD and BF. ......etc., etc. .....so in that sense, R* really seems to be striking out on their own with their games and if anything, I would say others could take a lesson from them considering they have what is arguably one of the most (if not the most) successful GaaS models on the market today with GTAO.
Having said that, I wouldn't consider RDO perfect. It still has problems for some and I do think they could offer more options to make their game more attractive to more players (e.g. free aim, passive modes/sessions, more content, etc.). .....but RDO is also growing and will continue to evolve.
Personally, I think RDO will be around for a long time regardless. They have even said that they haven't ruled out session options so there is still hope for private servers, etc. for those that want that. Personally, I think they will adapt over time as needed.
My main issue with the game is the time in between content drops. .....but then again, RDO isn't the kind of game where I play it constantly. I take breaks from it and then come back just like I've done with GTAO since it launched years ago on my PS3 (which I still play today on my PS4).
Regard their game engine..... R* has been using their same, proprietary RAGE system for over a decade, simply tweaked and improved as they go. ....the same engine GTAV uses. I'm not a developer so I won't pretend to know why some bugs persist for some people but it's not because the engine can't support online.

Same here. ....never seen more than 24 in a Free Roam session although I think some of the events can reach up to 32.

RDR2.org is in no way affiliated with R* or 2K which is why I always suggest folks make sure they are also reporting these issues directly to them via what is essentially our only means of conveying feedback to them directly:

Talking about here is perfectly fine and encouraged. ....and if it helps someone within our community in the process, then great. .....but for those who truly wish to try and effect change, that Feedback link and their Support site are currently the only ways to that will guarantee these issues get reported to R* directly. This is why I suggest it, not to dismiss people's input about problems they have with the game.

My suggestion.... If these types of events are occurring as frequently as you say, I would start taking video evidence and then submit that to R* via their Support page.

beeing blue just gives more tools to you when you have been killed, there is no way to be 100% safe from free roaming pvp.
As Harlock mentioned, being "blue" is only an indicator of one's hostility level and not their playing style (i.e. Defensive or Offensive mode).
.....but yeah, in either mode, you are still vulnerable to attack. Defensive merely gives players who use it an edge over indiscriminate attacks.
As outlined in an earlier post previewing some of today’s additions, this update brings the option to choose how you interact with players inside the world of Red Dead Online, via Offensive and Defensive playing styles in the Player Menu.
The Offensive playing style is set as the default and is how most players traditionally interact in Free Roam – free to engage in hostile contact with other players if you are prepared to accept the potential consequences.
The Defensive play style is for those players who would rather explore the world in Free Roam than engage in conflict with others – and it’s designed to let other players know that you don’t want to tangle with them, as well as minimize opportunities for griefing. At the same time, Defensive players will not be alerted to PvP Free Roam missions and can not be pulled into them while in Defensive mode, allowing them to go about their business as freely as possible.
Players in Defensive mode will be indicated by a shield icon, will take reduced damage from enemy players, cannot be lassoed, melee attacked, executed or targeted with auto-aim. Defensive players will also be excluded from being targeted in PvP-related missions such as Player Assassination. Those who attack Defensive players receive hefty penalties via the Hostility system., while players who initiate conflict while in Defensive mode will be instantly pulled out of Defensive mode) and also receive similar Hostility penalties.
Today’s updates also build on the player radar and visibility improvements introduced in February to create a smarter and more responsive approach to mitigating griefing behavior. The Hostility System tracks aggressive behavior across both Playing Styles, making hostile players visible to others and helping to balance the needs of players who want to get away from others who habitually attack or kill during unstructured Free Roam gameplay.
As before, player blips change color - beginning dark blue and transitioning to red as their hostile play persists. A bright red blip indicates an enemy. With today’s update, players will never receive Hostility or Bounty increases for defending themselves against a player who is blipped as an enemy, or for killing high Hostility players. If a player attacks another player, they will not be marked as an enemy to everyone - but rather to the attacked player only, who will not receive a penalty for firing back.
You can view your current Hostility level through the Player Menu. As you become more hostile, you become more visible on other player’s radars at longer distances and will respawn further and further away from your point of death – at the highest level of Hostility, you will respawn in a different region.
Hostility increases do not apply within structured events such as Free Roam Events, Free Roam Missions, Showdowns and Races. Engaging in PvP behaviors related to Free Roam missions will not incur Hostility increases while in the Offensive playing style, however attacking other players not engaged in the activity will cause your Hostility level to rise.

Ok, now I see what you mean....
Yeah, it says you need to make the purchase within 48 hours of signing up with Twitch Prime. I just did that yesterday and tried to see if there was anything in the store to indicate that the 15% off but saw nothing.
I have no idea how that works to be honest and I'm not sure who else around here buys MTXs (Gold Bars) in this game. .....sorry.

Take a break until more content is released. That's what I've done and still do.
Save your gold. You don't have to spend it right now. I think it's safe to say that there will be more coming this Summer and later this year in regard to new things we can spend it on.
I played all the content that released since the Spring Update and now I'm just waiting for the Summer Update to hit. RDO is one of those games I come back to from time to time just like I have with GTAO.

I've heard that yes, you do lose those things.
Why do you want to recreate your character? If it is to change their look, you may want to hold off as R* has already announced that they will be allowing players to change their characters (now permanent) features in the future.

I've been playing DayZ on PS4 and a few other games (which were free from PS+) that I haven't had the chance to get to yet. ....I do like DayZ though especially with friends. Already died about 3 times because of stupidity but with the new 1.04 update coming by the end of July, they will be doing a complete character & server wipe. I don't feel so bad now.
I wish consoles could support modding more similar to how PC does. That was a big part of my PC gaming experience when I was still building systems for it.
I still think properties will make it into the game. .....as well as vehicles (e.g. wagons). Seems what came from those leaks from the datamining early on have essentially come true. These two things we have yet to hear about though. It would be nice if they made it in and TBH, I really don't see why they wouldn't.
