Today I was killed three times being in defensive mode. I can't see the killer except his name...

There's a lot of missing info here.....  Try describing the situation so folks can try and help.

Just an fyi but Defensive Mode is not a passive mode.  You can still be killed by anyone at anytime.  It's only supposed to provide an extra edge to help you evade griefers and/or more options in the event you are shot / killed.

As for not seeing your attacker, were they invisible or maybe shot you from a distance?

I  was under the understanding that the update was going to be today/am?  Was I told wrong?  I've been leaving my ps4 console on rest mode so that it could auto update, but I've not seen anything come through.  Could someone please clear this up.

    Thank you.

Updates tend to come every Tuesday for RDO.  However, most are typically bonuses, new outfits being offered, PvP events, challenges, etc.  Title Updates (TUs) are few and far between and the next one (the Summer Update) will be coming any time between now and the end of Summer.  There are no other specifics on it's release as of yet.

The TU is likely when we will see the big gameplay changes like the ones mentioned in this thread you are talking about.  I post updates in this forum as soon as I see them so stay tuned.

Wow i wish i knew this sooner lol but hell i have it now, thank you mate. This can be used for story mode too right ?

Thank you for the tips and advice

I never tried it in the campaign but I don't believe it does.   Not quite sure on that one though.

Played RDR1 Online and but at the stages when it became hard to get on and all that was on was players glitching etc.

Now i really want to dive into RDR2 Oline although im only on chapter 3 of story mode but i love the world and taking my time and what it has to offer. Now please i know the basics of online but what advice can you give, where should i head to first and do what first, i know to watch out for posses etc

I would suggest downloading the RDR2 app available for both iOS and Android.  It allows to you view the map while playing and see other players, waypoints, etc.  You can zoom in and out which is great so you don't have to open the big map which can leave you exposed to attack.  It also allows you to see what's going on around you while fishing which is great since the minimap is not available in the game during that particular activity.

Speaking of attack, in order to avoid random conflict with others in Free Roam, I would also suggest choosing a spawn point in an area of the map that is at least a couple provinces away from where you want to hunt, fish, do missions, etc.  The game tends to spawn people into areas with the highest concentration of other players.  This simple trick has worked for me since the game was still in beta.  .....and still does.

Use the defensive mode unless your plan is to engage with others (or have them engage you).  While it doesn't prevent you from being attacked, it does give you an edge to allow you to evade and provide more options against aggressors if they happen to shoot you.

  7. Hey there @TheyDontCareTheyGotYour$$$,

    Welcome to RDR2.org.

Just an fyi but a lot has changed since this thread was created and last contributed to over 5 months ago. ....but yeah, judging by your username and the tone of your message, I'm guessing you don't care to discuss that.

Just a friendly reminder though..... RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or 2K in any way. This is a fan site where community members / fans of the game help one another with questions, problems, information and/or simply share their RDR2/RDO experiences with one another.

It sounds like you've already given up on the game but if you decide to give it a go again, feel free to tap into us a resource, contribute your own ideas/experience, etc.

Yeah, I realize that but the point is for those that have it, Twitch Prime is free.  In case you missed it, I also mentioned that you can sign up for the Twitch Prime trial for 30 days for FREE.  That may or may not allow you to take advantage of the $300 bonus in RDO.

Just trying to help folks out here take advantage of the deal without having to pay for a service they don't want (i.e. Twitch Prime).

  10. There are some hats I really like but they simply don't offer them in the color I want (e.g. black).  Also, some that do might have two versions that either look new or old/worn.  ......so unless I want the hat to look old and worn, I can't get the color I want.

....and yeah, the bands on some of them.   ....oy vey.

Can someone explain what Twitch Prime is.  Do people have to pay money?

I barely watch Twitch as it is.. I only watch twitch when deciding on games to purchase OR some sort of special event for a specific game.   As I really have zero interest in watching other people play games.

I don't know much about it but I do know that if you have Amazon Prime, you get Twitch Prime for free.  If not, yeah, there is a fee AFAIK.  .....but there is also a free trial so maybe that can be used to get the bonus.

Ya, but G.I. Is quoting some guy name Nelson that mention theses things. I’m thinking this Nelson person works for R*? But we’ll just have to wait & see. Would be awesome if they do.

I understand. The article included quotes "" from Nelson (R*) but I just wanted to clarify that those quotes in your post weren't from him. They were from GI.  .....their extrapolations based on the info R* provided.

Wagons would be great, but I can see a problem with that already.

Lets say you have collected x number of carcass & have them stored on your wagon. Yeah ya, going to makes some money  :D You're heading back to camp or whatever & a player rides up to you and dynamites your wagon. :(

Even if you see the player coming & you try to get the hell out of there. There's no way a wagon can out run someone on horseback.

    From the G.I. article:

"Say you’re fishing along the bank of the river and a man wearing a black hat approaches. You know that only dishonorable bounty hunters can earn that specific hat style, so keeping an eye on him is a probably smart idea. "

This made me laugh, 1st off by the time you noticed which hat they're wearing, you'll be dead lol

    From the G.I. article:

"A bounty hunter may have more pressing matters to deal with than harassing an innocent fisherman. Perhaps he just tips his hat in your direction and rides past to tackle the more immediate task at hand."

2nd: How likely a dishonorable player will just ride by & tip his hat because the player has a more immediate task at hand. The player will wave at you,  shot you & then move on. lol

I do look forward to what R* says they will be implementing from owning various properties. From owning your own storefront, railway, mine, homestead, running a riverboat gambling enterprise or honorable bounty hunters becoming lawman & so on. If they are able to incorporate all these element into the game, that would be remarkable.

.....but it should be noted that those quotes are from GI, not R*.  We still have to see how it plays out.

  16. Wagons would be great to transport goods and for other tasks of course.

I'd also like to see properties become available for purchase.  .....similar to GTAO where we can make them spawn points, have a gun locker to put those unused weapons, etc.

Camps are ok for out in the field near where you might be doing your thing but I would still like to have a place that we can call home to upgrade, possiblly run business(es) from, store equipment/wagons/horses, etc.  I also like being able to spawn into the world in a secure spot sometimes.

I know that may sound redundant considering we already have the camp, post office, stable and such but I dunno, I still want them and I think they can offer unique opportunities.

  17. Here's what PC Gamer had to say about it today:

    https://www.pcgamer.com/this-gta-6-leak-is-detailed-but-almost-certainly-fake/

    Quote

"An alleged Grand Theft Auto 6 'leak' appeared on Reddit on the weekend and, while it is quite detailed, it's probably bogus. Definitely. But as filled with probable nonsense as it is, it's tantalising all the same.".......

You never know though.  That's just PCG's opinion on the leak and I don't always agree with their take on things to be honest.
