Hi Lex and welcome to the forums.
Please note that RDR2.org is a fansite and not affiliated with R* or 2K. If you're interested in providing suggestions/critiques directly to R* I would suggest visiting their Feedback website here:
https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us
Of course, we would love you to also share your experiences with us, seek help and assist others here as well. RDR2.org is a great resource and community. ....but you're going to have to use that website if you want to send feedback or ask for direct assistance from R* as they don't have an official forum.
Hope that helps.
Thanks, Kean

Thanks for sharing.

Could also mean after you play certain side missions that automatically put you in offensive mode.

Thanks for posting this. It was in the latest update thread but it's certainly worthy of it own. I know there have been a lot of fellow community members who have been looking forward to some news on this.
Now we just have to wait and see how much it will cost if anything.
I also like the fact that the defensive/offensive option will stick. I hate having to keep turning defensive on.

Can't believe I glazed over this bit in the original article:
QuoteWe've been working on implementing some of the top-requested features for the next major Red Dead Online update - including the ability to reset your character’s appearance without altering your progress, automatically retaining Playing Style preferences (Defensive/Offensive) when transitioning to and from Free Roam and much, much more.
I know several of our community members have expressed an interest in an option like this. I'm sure they will be happy to see this.

I heard that it seemed to have been modified to only be effective when someone shoots at your head and hits your hat. ....meaning your hat will provide protection but not if you get shot in the face, etc.

I think it's obvious nothing good will come of this thread at this point so I'm closing it.

Yeah, it's the LCD monitor that would kill it for me personally on the Asteroids and Lunar Lander type games. The bright glow from the old vector monitors was really cool. .....basically like an oscilloscope.
At least they had the machine on when you saw it. Should give you a good idea if you'll like it. You can also at least play with the controllers and buttons to see how they feel even if you can't play any games on it. They say they build those components themselves. .....probably just means they source them from a factory in China but I have no idea.
Still a cool thing to have for a game room when folks are over, etc.

Thought this was pretty cool (and still is) but I don't think I'd buy one unless I had the chance to see it in the flesh first to see how the controls actually feel, etc. Seems they're also 3/4 scale.
I'd love an Asteroids cabinet (with Lunar Lander) but I'd rather have it with an old vector monitor than an LCD personally.

fyi....
I had to delete several posts today.
I'd like to remind people that general discussions & debates regarding topics are to be kept in the appropriate forums. This is a recruitment thread. A place for inquiries, etc. regarding the posse, not a place to continue a debate, hash out rivalries or to criticise the OP about their group.
Likewise, posse / recruitment discussions should also remain here, in the Posse Recruitment sub-forum. The discussion of this posse should be kept in this thread to help eliminate the possibility of negative traffic following back. In either case, this should be the only place people should be gauging interest, recruiting, advertising, etc. for their posse.
Another posse was mentioned earlier and there was a misunderstanding. It was acknowledged and I told folks to leave it at that. That should be clear now if it wasn't before.
If there is a problem with a particular post, etc., then please report it or PM one of us. .....or feel free to PM me if you have questions about anything I have discussed here and I'll be more than happy to help.
Thank You,
Kean

No worries.
Yeah, the only confirmed news is in that article. We still have no idea when the next update hits either. .....except sometime this Summer.

Hi Rod and welcome to the forums.
I like the idea but who knows if it will come to fruition. I know in GTAO you can share ammo by dropping it for other players.

Dude its not cool to lie, everyone knows you can get no higher than $1500... not cool
Hi Othien and welcome to the forums.
btw, the post you replied to is 7 months old and created just about 3 weeks after the game's release. ....so not everyone knew exactly how the mechanics, etc. worked in the game at that point.

Hi MrPicard and welcome to the forums.

@lumper and whoever else may not realize this......
You can quote multiple people within one post. Once you're done responding to one quote and before posting your response, quote the next post and it will appear below your previous response in the editor.
We prefer this as we don't like to have consecutive posts being made in threads. I would appreciate it as it makes threads a little less lengthy, more tidy and easier to read through. I also have no idea how to edit posts with quotes together as I can't seem to copy quotes within posts. .....so I can't come back through and tidy things up like I can with others.
Thanks.

I merged your two threads together since they are essentially asking the same thing. Please don't create multiple threads on the same subject. Thanks.

Hi Triad and welcome to the forums.
As Cola pointed out, you may want to include your platform in your post, title and perhaps even your profile while you're at it. If you look at ours, you can see there is an option to show that.

I'm part of Arthur's Angels, and we aren't the same as what's being described here. We don't initiate a fight, but we do defend our own when they are attacked. We aren't a vigilante group at all.
Ok, fair enough. Lumper mentioned it and you cleared the air.
Let's leave this clarification at that.

I wasnt sure if my original question was ambiguous after reading it back, was just clarifying I was asking the question out of ignorance, not trying to be clever! Thanks for your answers kean
No worries. I half figured you may not have ever played GTAO. I've run into quite a few who haven't.

I was purely asking if GTA had roles/ jobs , as I never played it. Was purely trying to find a compass reference to R* and their past form. And what to expect from this next development.
.......and I answered your question, no?
GTAO has no roles like the ones they announced for RDO. They do have Heists, businesses, properties, etc. though. I could see some of those things eventually coming to RDO and in fact, data miners had found evidence that they might back before RDO was released.
......but the roles sound unique to RDO but I guess we'll have to see what exactly they are first.

No need to close but if you could share in case someone else runs across this thread with the same problem, that would be great.
btw, welcome to the forums.

Story in Game Informer about the future of RDO

Here's the link to the article for those who want to read it. Assuming this was the one you meant?:
https://www.gameinformer.com/2019/05/14/rockstar-outlines-the-future-of-red-dead-online
They delve in a little deeper than the official announcement R* made at the time.
Personally, I like their take on RDO and the direction they're going with it. I'm also looking forward to the new roles coming this Summer and the related businesses, tasks, equipment, etc. Can't wait to see what's in store.
