Just to add my experience to this thread. When I first played RDO (Opening weekend and for a few weeks after) I was griefed so bad I spent the entire time either trying to avoid randoms or being actively chased across the map by griefers. When R* implemented the parley system, it worked for about an hour and then I got chased by two guys on one horse. I'd parley with one only to have his buddy grief me. Parley'd with him and the first one timed out... rinse repeat.
So I stopped playing, moved on to several different games and have now finally returned to RDO with the new anti-griefer system in play. When I want to 'be an outlaw' I run in offensive mode. When I want to just get some fishing, hunting or anything done without having to deal with people looking to ruin my playtime, I go into defencive mode. And I haven't really had an issue with griefers since. I get sniped on occasion, but the bullets miss/don't insta-kill me and I just ride away from the vapor trail. I haven't been hunted across the map like I'm an extra in The Hunger Games. I can actually enjoy the game and it's environ.
Humans can be a-holes and defensive mode allows me to avoid that small but active group. This is a good thing in my eyes.
Can't say I had the same experience you did. In fact, I hadn't actually had a real problem with griefing prior to any of the anti-griefing measures that were put into place even since the release of the game. I will say that avoiding randoms was a huge part of mitigating the chances of being trolled along with moving to areas away from populations and just as important, using the app (which was like having eyes in the back of your head). .....but I did have issues to the point where I quit several gaming sessions due to sheer annoyance.
I do approve and welcome the new features and actually find that they have improved my in-game experience. I do feel that I have more freedom now to play the game the way I want, when I want. If I'm hunting, fishing or doing other activities where I don't wish to be bothered, I choose defensive mode. When I want to join a side mission that can involve other players as adversaries, etc. I choose offensive mode.
I like the new changes and the direction R* is taking with this game.

I see you found your answer. But yes, you loose everything except your gold and money. Any items or unlocks will be gone.
But, R* has said there will be a one-time free redo of your character (and each subsequent re-do can be done for a fee). Not sure when they are going to introduce the feature, but it's been up on the site since the last big update.
Do you recall the source where you saw this?

This is another one of those components of the game you may not hear but might actually have a bearing on game play.
I really wish R* was more open about these things. I like discovering some neat animations or features, but with others it would really help in my decisions and how I play.

There was some rumblings recently that Sony might be offering PSN access to folks for free. I guess the catch is that they won't get the PS+ benefits of sales, free monthly games, etc. I'll also wager they offer a bit more to to the members if they implement this.
Now, I don't know if this is their plans for this gen of console or the next. .....or if this is even going to come to fruition or just rumor but I thought I'd mention it.
Personally, I think PS+ is worth the yearly subscription fee but that's just me.
Btw, played for about 2 hours last night without any CE crashes. I just had some weird, random stuttering at the end when we accepted a mission.

@Kean_1 hey bro if we decide to start recruiting again can you open us back up ? Sorry to put this here but says you can't receive msg. Thanks in advance.
Just let me or another mod know. That's one of the reasons I didn't remove it and instead just closed it when you asked.
I'll also check in why you're not able to send me a msg. I just a couple yesterday from someone else so not sure.

I don't like to play the PvP modes in a game like RDR but glad to see they are providing enough variety for folks who do.

Does anyone know where I can fine Repeater Cartridges. Any type. I go through them like a cowboy goes through guarma rum.
I just buy them in large qtys and then go to the post office or camp whenever I need to replenish my on hand inventory.

Hi Leonce and welcome to the forums....
First, I would try to log out and then back in (closing the game completely in the process). If that doesn't work, I would wait a day or so. .....and if all else fails, I would contact R* Support and ask them for assistance:

I played about 2 hours and I didn't see the new Hunting Free Roam mode pop, I'm eager to check it out
Can anybody find patch notes for 1.10?I found this on a website. It's not from an official source mind you:
QuoteRED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 UPDATE 1.10 PATCH NOTES
• Added fixes for exploits with Red Dead Redemption 2 version 1.10.
• Fixed crashing issues players facing after the last update.
• Added fixes for stuttering/lag issues.
• RDR2 update 1.10 has fixed few glitches.
• Added fixes for framerate drop and freezing issues.
• Added performance and stability improvements.
I'll keep an eye out to see if I can get my hands on the real McCoy.
btw, these sources indicate that these are just the initial details but R* will be publishing official patch notes soon. I guess we'll see. Usually you'll see them mentioned here:

Thanks for the status updates. I'll likely try it out for myself tonight again. Most my CEs are within the first few minutes up to an hour and a half. Very random and I actually had one evening where I got no errors after almost two hours so this will be something we'll have to see over time if it's fixed or not.

The update should have only been around 150MB.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll see if anyone else has some data on the matter and then check in with that link.
All in all, I might just stick with the character and hope they give us, at some point, at least one chance to redo their look. I couldn't get the mouth sliders to work at all in between crashes, so I just went with what I had.
I have to figure that a character redo would make sense given it was added to GTAO. ....and of course, if they offer it at a price at a tidy sum of in-game cash or gold bars, it may be another excuse for some folks to buy/spend.

Was just wondering, since I've seen lots of people posting about it: if you delete a character, I know you start over from level one, but do you lose the horses/gear/saddles/etc you spent gold on? Or do they remain unlocked and waiting for use for when you hit that level?
Barely hit 15 last night, and my poor woman's lips are so thin that she has a constant skeleton grimace. I wanted her to be tough and ugly, but not that ugly.
I believe you still keep those items to use with the new character (given GBs can be bought with real money), but if someone doesn't respond here with an answer that makes you feel confident enough to take the chance, I would recommend contacting R* support to confirm:

That`s a lot better than IRL kid, don`t complain
He's just asking for clarification on the game mechanics which is something R* is really lousy at doing in this game with a lot of them.

Keeps us updated if you don't mind. The news today didn't include any info on bug fixes and the like.
-
No indications of addressing common bugs / glitches / exploits but then again, I saw a couple things being addressed as hotfixes on their end.
EDIT: There is a 150 MB patch today though (thanks for pointing it out @The_Liquor).

You may want to include your platform, region, time frame and possibly game tag. Some of these things can be included in your profile by editing it.

Hi Jack and welcome to the forums.
As mentioned, you may want to include your console of choice and perhaps a timeframe that you tend to be available. There are options in your profile to add XB1 / PS4 as well as your gamer tag.
-
Great news @Antonia and thanks for sharing this information with the rest of the community.

That's odd. I would take a screen shot and submit a trouble ticket to R* if you can't find an option or other way to change it back.

Well, items that are bought or gifted are available at the post office or your camp loot box. The only thing you are not able to do is transfer items out of your inventory to store elsewhere. ...which means found out looted items cannot be picked up if your inventory is full.
