Ok..... 45 minutes into my gamin session tonight and I got the error code again. My case is still open so I reported it again to Support.

Yeah, it was in an article from R* at some point. I just don't recall which one but I remember reading about it.
This is one of those mechanics in the game that seem like it's tribal knowledge. I wish all of these types of things were documented in a manual, FAQ or similar.

Wow..... When I opened this thread about your long journey to lvl 100, I was expecting a much longer post in classic Lumper style. 😁
On a serious note, I would also urge new players to download the RDR2 app for their phone, tablet or other iOS / Android device. .....assuming your device is compatible.
The app allows you to view the big map on your device which makes it easier to plot paths, check you waypoints, etc. You can also view the map on the device when you're fishing. .....you can't see your minimap on the screen during this activity so you're essentially blind without it.
It helps when evading people, spotting "red blips" and is generally useful in that you don't have to open the main map on your screen as often which can sometimes leave you exposed. All of the icons, blips,etc. you would see on your in-game map on your main screen you will see in the app.

While I understand the frustrations some have with various aspects of the game, some of the drum-beating gets a little repetitive after a while and I just had a moment when I posted that.

Well, holding the button should only result in one shot unless your operating a Maxim machine gun. It's the "or nothing" that concerned me.

I can't emphasize enough to please open a ticket with R* Support if you haven't already. Let them know what's happening and that it started occurring after the last title update.
In my conversation with them, they didn't seem aware of this as being an issue shared by others. ......or at least beyond the isolated few.

If you get the RDR2 app (assuming you have a device compatible with it, you can view the map via the app while you fish.
As for being griefed, personally, I haven't had an issue in recent memory before or after the latest title update. I do use some of the tips like Lumper mentioned however to help avoid contact with randoms.

Yeah, Creed took a hiatus from RDO to play the Division 2 but he helped me too. He was really hyped for it. I bought it as well but I'm just not as big of a fan of the series. I mainly got it for my friend who loves the game and likes to co-op. We still have a blast.
Now, when Insurgency Sandstorm makes its way onto consoles later this year, I'll probably be hooked on that for a while. I was hoping for a good sequel to GRW but the futuristic robots, drones, etc. in GRB turned me off when they announced it, even with the Punisher ( Jon Bernthal). .....but I'll likely get it, again, for the co-op aspect with friends.
As for the forum, I don't see myself really going anywhere. .....as long as Lonestar will have me.
I'll also still be playing RDO into the distant future just like I do GTAO.
I agree. This is one of the best forums I've been a part of and I was happy to help as a mod when LS asked me. The members, the mods, Lonestar......everyone helps make that possible. Great group of folks here.

I'd take Moosh's advice and report the glitch and the glitchers. If you can take video or screenshots that you can share with them, all the better.

There are folks talking about some odd issues since the last update. .....and some saying their issues have cleared up in the last day or so. R* also confirmed they fixed some of these.
I would suggest submitting a trouble ticket with R* Support:

INTRODUCING FREE ROAM MISSIONS FROM BLACK BELLE, SADIE & JAKE ADLERPLUS NEW SKIRT, BOOTS AND VEST, PS4 EARLY ACCESS CONTENT AND MORE
Last week, we added the first of many new Free Roam Missions, with new mission types and some new characters to meet along the way. This week, two fan favorites from the Red Dead Redemption 2 story join the cast of characters in the market for a helping hand in the world of Red Dead Online.
Ride out to the Adler Ranch in Ambarino or search out the infamous gunslinger Black Belle in Lemoyne for new Free Roam Missions to play in Red Dead Online for both PS4 and Xbox One.
This week's updates also include new Early Access content for players on PlayStation 4 including the devastating Ancient Tomahawk along with a new Make It Count: Ancient Tomahawk Showdown Mode. There's also Last Stand, a bloody free-for-all Showdown Mode with no way out, no second chances and one winner. It was a discussion I had with a R* CS rep today. I had reported the dead animals, missing people / animals and other assorted odd problems occuring the last couple days. While he doesn't address the dead animals directly, that was what he was responding to:

The bad news is that this is a bug that occurred after the last update.
The good news is that R* is apparently aware of it and is working on a solution. However, I would still encourage you to submit a trouble ticket with them here:

The more people that complain, the better our chances are of having a quick resolution to these problems.
