Ok. Player twitches, as if very quickly crouches and gets up.

This is new to me but I wouldn't be surprised if this was an exploit they were using.  In either case, it appears you still were able to kill them.

I would report it to R* though since because if it wasn;t an exploit, it surely is a bug:

  2. I would suggest contacting R* if you want to report a player or issue like this.  Unfortunately, I had to take the link down as this sort of falls into the "naming & shaming" rule.

If you can blur out the other player's name or wish to describe what you see, that would be fine.

  3. Negative XP Appearing in the Red Dead Online Beta

    Created April 9, 2019Updated April 9, 2019

Question: My Red Dead Online Beta character has a negative XP number being displayed next to their Rank. What should I do?

Answer: An issue which appeared to show players receiving negative XP has been resolved. If you are still seeing this, please note that once you've earned enough XP to reach the next Rank level, your XP and Rank will display normally.

Wow any news of when the update... I mean the real update is going to hit?

If I recall, this 4/9 update was the last in the weekly schedule of updates they announced.  .....so, that could mean just about anything but I also reckon it could be that the Spring Update might hit as early as next week if they keep with the every-Tuesday updates.  .....but who knows.  It's all speculation at this point.  I'll wager we will at least have some news next week on future updates (perhaps including the Spring Update) if nothing else.  Maybe another "State of the Beta" announcement.

Its hard to imagine players in there grinding and hearing about these things and not trying them.

Why is it so hard to imagine that people wouldn't cheat to get where they are in the game?  I've heard about a lot of these glitches and exploits but I never used any of them.  Why you ask?

    1) I don't like the idea of cheating to get ahead.

    2) I know that for those that do there is the possibility that the devs could at some point reverse any gains I have been achieved from exploits.

    3) I play games for the fun of it.  If the journey to get to my next rank, unlock, to earn cash for a purchase, etc. isn't an enjoyable and rewarding experience,  I simply won't play.  Exploiting glitches is neither fun nor challenging for me so it really doesn't matter how much I gain from them.  Rapid advances in level & cash also leave nothing else in the game for me to strive for.

I shelved the game a few weeks ago because I came to a point where it felt too repetitive.  I'm also not into PvP events so there really hasn't been anything added lately that appeals to me.  I will likely revisit the game again after the big Spring Update as I will from time to time after that.  RDO will be evolving for a long time into the future and I currently have other things to keep me occupied while I wait for the additional content, changes, etc.

  6. PLUNDER SHOWDOWN MODE NOW AVAILABLE

    fb190f7d4003e06b11f4ec6f51d173d4b6968d61

In the Red Dead Online Beta’s new Showdown Mode Plunder, frontier resources are in short supply - work with your team to fight through opposition and capture supplies from a central location to deliver it to your team’s base.

In addition to capturing loot from that central location, you can also use cunning to steal it from your opponent's base. But be careful - when holding you'll be visible to all other players. Keep your Health, Stamina and Dead Eye cores filled and use tonics to boost your tank to gold before making a run for packages and take advantage of team-based Dead Eye Ability cards like Focus Fire that lets your teammates cause a little more damage while your Dead Eye is active.

Outfitters across the five states have received the latest shipments of clothing this week:

    • Owanjila Hat
    • Porter Jacket
    • Concho Pants

And as added bonuses this week, access for all coats, holsters, boots & gloves otherwise up to Rank 40 will be available to all players - grab any of these styles until April 15th. For higher ranking players, the Turkoman, Missouri Fox Trotter and Arabian Horses are being lowered to Rank 40, while Volatile Dynamite, Incendiary Buckshot, Explosive Slug, Express Explosive, and Dynamite Arrow pamphlets are all lowered to Rank 60.

    Oh sorry. PS4

Just a suggestion but you might want to fill out the rest of your profile with your console info and gamertag if you so choose.  It's helps especially when trying to find others to play with, etc.

COLT .44 Peacemaker, "the revolver that won the West!"  It is a one-shot-kill hand cannon but don't listen to me, check the experts:  Interesting article--

The Colt SAA / Peacemaker is already represented in the game as the Cattleman.  .....just as the Lancaster represents the Winchester 1866 and the Litchfield is the Henry, etc.  Some of the weapons they used their real life counterpart names and others they didn't.

Just contact myself or another mod and we'll be happy to help you.  Better yet, report your own post as a duplicate and it will go into an inbox that we all see.

btw, here's the like to R* CS that I mentioned:

  10. I closed the other thread you created @dobo8080as it was a duplicate of this one.

As for the problem with the recipe, I would suggest contacting R* Customer Support to see if they can help you. Unless someone here can point out something you are missing, they will be the only ones who may be able to get this straightened out for you.

no game out there is realistic to life.  even RDR2 takes a few shots to kill people,  I've shot lawmen in the head twice with the litchfield repeater to kill them.  I've shot thugs in TD2 once in the head to kill them, or twice at times with a level sniper rifle.  the heavily armed bosses take a few shots, they are heavily armored after all.  Pretty unrealistic to want a shooting game to be realistic :P  It'd be finished in hours if that.

There are games out there like that but most are on PC.  Titles that are considered milsims, hardcore survival, etc. can have much more unforgiving and "realistic" damage models.  ....although games like that have been quite scarce on console.  However, that's not to say there aren't those that appear on console from time to time.  The Sniper Elite franchise or other games like Ghost Recon Wildlands are just a couple examples that come to mind.  Personally, I loved the Flashpoint series on PC and even played the titles that came over to console.  That was about as milsim as it got on the PS3.

Just as an example, the core gameplay of GRW is quite lethal and way more realistic in that respect compared to the Division.   Enemies can be killed with one shot although once alerted they may take 1-3 shots depending on the weapon and placement.  IIRC, headshots were still a one-shot deal regardless.

Takedowns are very quick but not easy.  On the highest difficulty, even your character is extremely vulnerable.  That was one aspect of that game I really loved.  .....that and the flexibility to approach and engage objectives as you like from complete stealth to guns blazing or anywhere in between.  One of the most fun co-op experiences I've had in a game in a long time.  It was a blast to be able to plan and coordinate missions with your team.

I just can't agree that lethal damage models are unrealistic as they already do exist and have their own fans who love that style of gameplay.  ....including me.  :)

On that note, one such title I've been waiting for that is making the crossover from PC to console is Insurgency: Sandstorm.  That game is a cross between milsim titles and a more casual PvP experience.  The damage model is absolutely brutal.

I've already been soured at this point based on TD1's gunplay and unless enemies in TD2 drop in 1 head or 2 to 3 torso shots like they do IRL, I'm not interested.

I play games to relax and be entertained, not be frustrated. If a game is going to make me want to throw my controller through my TV, it's not something I'm interested in.

The Division franchise is definitely an RPG.  That was one aspect of the game I never really liked but with TD1, I learned to enjoy the other elements of the gameplay.

When TD2 was announced however, I never really had an interest until I heard news that the devs would be toning down the sponginess of the damage model which they have.  I still don't care for the woile RPG nature of the damage but it is what it is.   Just like RDO.....   I don't particularly care for the arcadey gunplay and damage but the package as a whole is enjoyable to me.  Just a different kind of beast.

I will say that when GRW came out I immediately thought that the damage in that game was what I wished the Division could have been.  .....but then the game was never designed around that kind of model like GRW was.

Its too bad you can sell it or trade it to other players, even for cash.

There are obvious conflicts with giving people the ability to sell or "gift" GBs as they are able to be purchased with real money.  Also, R* purposely went with a two currency system in RDO for a reason.  My guess is to allow them away to introduce gambling perhaps later down the road, etc.  A currency they don't have to worry about being tied to "real" money.

  13. Fyi....   Mods are being changed in this upcoming Friday patch for TD2.  A lot of the negatives are being removed and the positives being nerfed a bit. The whole skill power requirements are being lowered so they are more useful, some weapon balance, etc.

NO AMERICAN NATIVES are in the WAPITY Indian Reservation in the Online version, only in the SP.

That is an obvious sign of racism or at least a sign of a complete lack of consideration for the Native Tribes.

An immediate addition of Native Caracters, Bots, Outfits and weapons is requested or it will be intended as

deliberate bad behaviour against Native Tribes and it will be adressed to whom it concerns.

Well, this isn't an official site of Rockstar or 2K but if you're actually serious about your concerns, I would suggest making your case to R*.  This isn't the place for those kinds of accusations:

So I get the double barrel and/or sawed off draw, but what about the pump and repeating?

The pump was the first one I got and while that would have been fine, I did get the repeating and that's what I stick with mostly for that kind of work.

I use them for their sheer stopping power up close whether that means other players or other predators.  Use what works for you and the task at hand.  That's one reason I like RDR2 / RDDO is that the weapon balance allows variety based on personal choice.
