Update: I'm rank 110 now. Yay.
Rank 114 now actually. Keep ranking fast even though I'm not trying to anymore.

"resume free rom where you left it" should be "resume free rom where the **** I want" 😅
I'm pretty sure it's because upon logging out he packs up your camp releasing the spot so it can be used. When you log back in he has to set it up again. And not always in the same spot if someone in that session is using it. So that's part of why it moves sometimes upon logging in.

If you're a boss, hunt cougars. When I was a wee baby rank, I would hunt the cougar at night outside of blackwater. Go turn in, 3-4 minutes later, another spawns. All together, one perfect cougar is $20. So that's $20 every 4 minutes. There's two cougar spawns outside of tumbleweed as well so take $40 every 5 minutes.
But blackwater was my favorite as I could get bucks and pronghorn, wolves too and the occasional grizzly if I could spot it first.
Also the birds, heron, spoonbill, owls, cranes and pelicans outside of St Denis sell for killer prices. 10 of the heron feathers sell for $15, $18 for the spoonbill. Also the small gator bodies sell for $6.50, skin for $3. Plus you can keep killing the small ones and stack up. There's also bucks there too. I make $150 on a good day within 10-15 minutes, averaging about $75.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head while I'm at work. I'll post later if I remember more.
-
I'd rather ride through gator infested waters than go into a busy town with a horseload of goodies (which I have many times). I almost never take direct routes if there's even one person too close to the butcher. I've familiarized myself with the ins and outs of saint denis and most of the map minus tumbleweed area cuz I am hardly there. I go through alleyways, hop fences, go through rivers/lakes, anything to avoid losing my stuff. Hell I'll even have my horse wait somewhere hidden while I go "scope out" the butcher area.

Really good suggestions! Personally, I'd be happy for starters if (hate to sound like a broken record) but, if it would stop moving, if we could have the option to spawn in our camp when we enter RDRO, and (this is just my personal preference), we could get him to stop playing that harmonica!
Or play some different damn songs. Also +1 to having the option to spawn in your camp, cuz all too often I spawn in to the middle of a warzone. Or a couple of times I've spawned next to a gator and got nommed. As soon as I log in I gotta be prepared for the fact that everything wants to kill me T_T.
Also again +1 to cripps defending your camp. He already kinda does it, but it's hard to tell when he will. It's mostly when someone shot at or near him. He doesn't budge if you're getting shot at. Also for the love of god, please take away that effect where you slow down to a trot when running near a camp. Too often I'm chasing or being chased and because I couldn't even see the camp fast enough, run by it and get slowed down causing me to die or lose my quarry.

would be better to have an open bounty on these A holes that hassle people meaning they get hunted by lots of other players for the bounty of say $100 giving them a taste of their own medicine. Most of these Griefers are bratty little kids under the age of 14, Some thing that happens a lot in 18 rated games and yeah i know its an impossible task for the develpoers to age verify players. Another thing i have noticed is players with high lvls of 155 lvl ( prob using exploits with in the game that have now been patched ) hassling very low lvl players. These players with very high lvls should be looked at closly to see if they have cheated by the exploits with in the game and if so should have their lvls decreased.
It's not that hard to rank up, especially if you run in a posse. Strength in numbers and all. To be fair I see levels 20-40 griefing more often than high ranks. Often I will see high levels acting as mercs for their lower ranked friends. Also people's perception of griefing differ and vary widely.
So far I've only been griefed by one high rank, some coming from 60-90 lately. But it's the lower ranks that get cocky and start sh*t.

That sucks.
If you block someone on PS4, neither party will be able to do the following:
- Send each other messages and friends requests.
- Add each other to a group.
- See each other’s online and Now Playing status.
- Send each other invitations for parties, Share Play sessions, game sessions, broadcasts, Communities, and events.
- Join the same party.
- Comment on each other’s activities and Live from PlayStation content.
This also includes following a player that has blocked you as I've tested it before myself.
Everyone in the posse had him blocked, so it wasn't a case of someone not having him blocked. I would like to hope he won't be matched with me or anyone who blocked him again, but they seriously need to change that option and I sent in a suggestion/ticket about that too. That is some next level stalker creepy BS right there. Thing was, we didn't even kill him. He thought we killed him and he ran up to us and killed us and of course we popped him back, then went about our way, or tried to.
-
Just a fair warning, even blocking them they can still follow you from session to session from the recent players menu. Someone did this to me last night through 5 session changes. He only stopped going after me after I brought him to a friend who's as persistent as him and he kept killing him until he left finally.
Why is that even a thing? That you can join someone's session even though they aren't a friend?

A few of the girls I play with are complete lunatic... lvl 100+ bitches.
Like.. if I decide to stand next to a cliff and enjoy the view of water fall. They always gotta push me off.
Standing there drinking a beer.. They just gotta hog tie me.
They are worse than most of the griefers I encounter in this game.
I watched them one night say hello to a passer by.. He says hello back. They throw him off his horse and than beat the crap out em.
Guy respawns and says "WTF"?
I tell em. You think that's bad.. "Trying be friends with these bitches". Only to get tackled from behind and hog tied again by one of them.. and left to squirm on the ground.
The random guys says "You shouldn't call woman bitches". So one of the girls blasts him the head with a sawed off as says. "He can call us what ever he wants".
Lol... Good times.
I'll do a lot of that to my friends but not randoms unless they asking for trouble. I did hogtie a friend and set up 16 dynamite around his body then wanted for him to come back from afk to set it off. Or one of my friends was sniping us for fun on a cliff edge and I snuck up behind him and pushed him and myself off. One of my friends IGN is Insanity, and she lives up to the name.
Women are vicious man...

Weaponized toxic masculinity? I don't know how to feel about that.
Well I noticed when I actually bother to speak they sometimes get upset cuz they realize I'm a woman or in some cases they think I'm a kid. Burns them up a bit. Their salt feeds me.

why if I'm still loading another player can already see me next to him?
I don't know. But I feel that upon loading on to a map we should be invulnerable for like 30s/until we move. Like give us a chance to get our bearings...

You can also toss dynamite/fire bottles if you have them. Dynamite arrows, any spread damage (shotgun). Or yeah like they said wait it out. If you're lucky enough to get close enough to tackle them or rope them, there's that too.

I think it's funny when someone decides to do that and their whole mini map lights up red cuz that person they shot was in a 7man posse then they get mowed down and deeply regret their actions...

I have to disagree....
I can honestly say I have never thrown insults at people in chat let alone bothered to send them a message. As for being trolled myself, I will report them based on how bad it is. If someone is going to show me a complete lack of respect by doing something like that, why should I care about them? I report it.
I'm much the same way. Although I have mocked some people that tried to insult me. But I'm fairly diplomatic. I had one guy try to take a hideout from me so I rushed the leader and finished it. He still tried to shoot me afterwards. I went into game chat and just said "bruh, it's over, please stop". And surprisingly he did stop and went about his way. I sometimes will go into game chat to warn someone or just reassure them I'm friendly. But I never trade insults.
Buuuuut, I did add a dash of salt once when I said "how's it feel to be stomped by a girl?" to someone who was really trying super hard to mess with me. Only time he got me was when he rushed me with dead eye and the semi shotgun.

Well they could just add pve lobbies.. Maybe with less players but more NPCS that spawn. To reduce the strain on servers.
And add pve friendly events.Like fishing or hunting challenges.. and other random events that have nothing to do with player vs player combat.
I'd go for a mild 'parkour' obstacle course race event. Myself and my friends were hopping all over St Denis the other day and I was showing them various ways to get up to things.
Or like it story mode, that npc that challenges you to a shooting contest. A shooting gallery basically. Like hitting flying targets with different gun/weapon types. Or something like in The Evil Within 2?

Thanks guys/gals for the update on when the beta title will be removed.
Re gold, I got a notice last night saying I got 5 gold bars for playing during whatever period that was. Does it go into my gold queue automatically or do I have to pick it up somewhere? Also, just to clarify, does the "gold" show up on the screen in the upper right corner next to the "dollars" amount? Right now it says I have 14 gold, gold what, bars, coins, etc.?
One last question, when I was playing last night I came across a small cabin with an NPC in it. He gave me an assassination mission where I had to kill a human. I checked the map and he was all the across the map. I tried to get there but could not. Why is Rockstar promoting griefing with all this mess about griefing going on???
I don't really see it as griefing. Now it would be if the person kept killing even after finishing the mission. I mean all missions invite other players to mess with it, it gives anyone nearby a notification about it and what they have to do to take it. Would that be griefing as well? It's not griefing if it's a core mechanic of the game.
As for your question about gold, it's gold bars and it shows up next your cash automatically.

Yeah, I'm a little iffy on the whole proximity based blips as well. I had the same thoughts as you.
We will really need to see how this whole proximity thing works, ranges, etc., but I can certainly see some drawbacks. IMO, the range needs to be long enough to allow players to see potential threats but short enough to keep players "off the radar" when they want to be. If it's too short, I can already see trolls setting up sniper positions near towns, quest points, etc. and using the lack of range to their advantage.
When folks talked about this during development, I was all for it. .....but then I started to think of ways griefers could use it to their advantage. Now I'm just waiting to see how it all shakes out.
I have been chased from Valentine to Lagras by a griefer. Knew he was following me to mess with me because I got off the road and ran up a mountain and across 2 large rivers and he was taking the exact same path. So I veered off to my camp (I was a lowbie at the time, so didn't have much in the way of defending myself) and when I got there he dashed up and tried to shoot me. Then tried to take my horse (had the settings set to me only) and when he couldn't take it tried to shoot it. I got on the game chat and just said "nice try retard". And he cussed me out and then rode away.
I'm sure proximity will at least be within range enough to defend yourself, not like right on top of you or within easy auto aim range.

We all can speculate what we think Rockstar is going to do for days. But Rockstar needs to 'fess up on what the plan is and not be so wishy-washy about their stance on griefing.
"a fun and fair environment for everyone" or not.
Rockstar is like Dutch. They have a plan, it's a good one, but they'll never tell you until the last minute.

I'm not so sure he was a griefer. He might have been a low rank and still learning what they can do in the game. Or accidentally shot once and was like oh hey cool i can shoot like that and tries again. I mean if he chased you then maybe. But I've had some lowbies test out what they can do on me and I humor them sometimes.
Like one rank 11 wanted to fist fight me at the butcher. So I didn't use a gun, just let her get some licks in and then knocked her out. She didn't try again with me though and I didn't bother her either.

There's a double cougar spawn right outside of Tumbleweed. Every 5 minutes is $40, good spot if you want some quick cash. Plus pigs everywhere and pronghorn I believe. Very close to the only butcher in the area too. Just be careful on the second cougar spawn as it sometimes literally will spawn right next to you like it did me a few times lol (got startled and shot it several times ruining it).
